    Please tell me people aren't REALLY saying pokemon is dying just because Gamefreak added Megas and the Fairy Type. Because saying a game franchise is dying because the people behind it are trying to spice…

      I don't think it's going anywhere any time soon.

      Legend of Zelda isn't dead, nor is Mario; and they're even older than Pokémon.

      It's mostly people who feel competitive play is "dying" that say the entire series is dying.

      Reality check: Not everyone plays the series competitively.

      In my opinion Pokemon is going to be alive as long it sells. X/Y were one of the most sold games in 2013 and they made it to the top 10.. Pokemon definitely isn't dying, Pokemon isn't even slowly dying, if you're thinking Pokemon is slowly dying it means you're just growing up and that's okay.

      Competitive plays is rising, no real competitive player would say it's dying. The first 3 gens were barely played competitively, but competitive battle has grown more and more popular with each passing gen.
