crashteamalphing Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 So I don't know if this idea has been posted before somewhere else, but I'm wondering if the high number of moving NPCs in agate circus in causing the lag in this part of the game, amongst other things. Has anyone ever tried to change all NPCs there to static instead of randomly moving, and seen what happens? It would probably at least help a little. Quote
Abyssreaper99 Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I don't think it's to do with the moving NPCs since Obsidia Ward has lots of moving NPCs too and Obsidia is connected to 3 wards, 1 of them containing a few moving NPCs. Quote
Ultra Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I get a ton o' lag, too. But only on the left side of Agate. Quote
Hally Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 My guess would be: it's related to the mass number of platforms in route 2; slower computers just can't handle it. Quote
Support Squad Felicity Posted July 20, 2014 Support Squad Posted July 20, 2014 Aye, it is a large area, which is why someone suggested a gate between agate circus and route 2 to split the 2 areas into seperate Entities(?) i am not an expert in any way shape or form. Quote

Arkhi Posted July 20, 2014 Posted July 20, 2014 I wouldn't be surprised to see a gate between the Circus and Route 2 in the future. Ame has considered it, I believe. Quote
Administrators Amethyst Posted July 21, 2014 Administrators Posted July 21, 2014 Considered? It's already done. Other areas have been split as well, including Chrysolia Forest and every ward in the city. Ding dong the lag is gone ...mostly. To satisfy curiosity, lag is caused by map connections (which join two maps together seamlessly, currently seen at the stairway between the Circus and Route 2 (as well as a million other places)) that adjoin maps with lots events, such as the aforementioned. The guess about the jumping platforms isn't wrong, since those count as 'events' for the program. Quote
