So I did a topic last week labelled "What if YOU were the evil leader of your own organised team?" and the general idea of it was to say what your name would be as a team leader, what your organisation would be called, what your Pokémon would be, etc. It seemed to go fairly well, so I figured I'd do more topics along similar lines, seeing as I enjoy doing this kind of thing myself.

This week, we're doing "What if YOU were a Gym Leader?" The explanation about my previous post and the title kind of say what this is all about. It's all about how your Gym would be. But, let's go into more detail about it so we know what kind of questions to answer and how they should be laid out.

First and foremost, we need your name as a Gym Leader. It could be your real name if you wanted to, but a lot of the Gym Leaders in the main games have puns for names, like Brawly, Skyla and Pryce to name a few. So, if you wanted your own 'punny' name, then now's your opportunity! Feel free to add your own title like the Gym Leaders in Reborn do if you like as well!

Next, we'll need to know what type of Pokémon you'll be using. With the exception of Blue, every single Gym Leader to date has stuck to an individual type as a way to test the challengers' skills against a bunch of different types, and as such, it's expected that you do the same. While a lot of people would probably like to be a multi-type Gym like Blue, I'm going to forbid that in this situation as that would take the fun out of it a bit, seeing as there's only one Gym Leader out of nearly (if not, I forget) 50 that breaks the trend. So, one type has to be mutual between all of your Pokémon!

This one is optional. The town/city your Gym is located! It can be made up, or it can be an actual place, be it in Reborn, Colosseum/XD, a place from the anime or the main games! If it's an already existing place, forget the backstory to the previous Gym Leader, it doesn't matter. We can just pretend they retired their role or something so you took over. It doesn't matter. You're the Gym Leader now, and this is about you.

This one is the most obvious one - Your Pokémon! What Gym Leader runs a Pokémon Gym without any Pokémon? We all need to know what Pokémon you would use as a Gym Leader! Like my last topic, levels, movesets, abilities and items are all optional, we only need to know the Pokémon. But feel free to add as much as you like! Mega evolution will be allowed seeing as Korrina wields it, despite never using it in a Gym Battle. Any legendaries that are allowed in the Battle Frontier, Battle Tower, Battle Maison, and whatever else there is are also allowed, but only one may be chosen, and they must stick to the type you've chosen.

Lastly, the name of your badge and the TM you'll be giving out! I need say nothing for this one. It's literally just the name of the badge you give to challengers who win, and what TM you will give them as a reward if you deem them worthy of one too!

Here is an example template of what I'm expecting:

Ocean Queen Misty (Title, Name)

Water-types

Cerulean City

Cascade Badge

TM03 Water Pulse

Staryu (Level, etc.)

Been rocking a mono steel team on PO. Despite the tendency for everyone to think of steel as a defensive type I feel some of the best offensive Pokemon in the game are steel type. With so much power and coverage it really shouldn't go to waist. Team has weaknesses though and I'm keen too try and work out ways to fit Metagross and Scizor in so please feel free to comment and pitch ideas (the fact these two offensive behemoths are left out is a testimony to the offensive power of the steel type). Personality wise i would be something similar to Julia in reborn by blowing stuff up with chemicals (see breaking bad + fulminated mercury) as solution to everything while being more cut-throat and more business like.

Lord Alchemist Heisenberg (I would also need an assistant, maybe a pokemon, to constantly abuse who goes by the name of pinkman)

Steel Types

Blade Badge

TM 75 - Swords Dance

North Peridot Ward ( why not)

Klefki - Safety Goggles Dual Screen Spikes

M-Lucario - Sword Dance

Bronzong - Light Clay + Trick Room + Expolsion!

Aegislash - Mixed set with Weakness Policy

Excadrill - Life Orb + Sand rush + Sandstorm

Heatran - Air Baloon + Stealth Rocks

Thinking of changing Heatran to a choice specs set and swapping Klefki for mixed Metagross and lucario for M-Scizor

TM: EarthQuake

Gym: Ruins of the Sky

The ruins of what was once the Sky Pillar, they now serve as a underground fortress in case Raquayza ever decides to go berserk again and causes another murderous rampage, coincidentally, the leader is the same man who defeated rayquaza with the help of groudon ten years prior.

Set- up:

the challenger can not leave once they have entered. the only available way for them to get to the leader is to fall through the holes in the floor and proceed through the next level, if they chose the wrong hole, they'll be stuck at a dead-end corridoor, the only way out of which is to press a button on the wall which will summon a guard with a single lvl.100 ground type to battle the trainer. should the trainer lose, they will have half the funds taken as well as any hold items on their Pokemon. upon reentering the gym, the passage they chose previously will be closed off the prevent making the same wrong choice twice. however, should they happen to somehow defeat the guardsmen, they will rewarded with twice their funds and be taken directly to the gym leader with their Pokemon healed. upon the gym leaders defeat, they will give the challenger access to the personnel corridors, allowing them to either leave the gym or continue on to a exit somewhere inside victory road.

Seattle City Gym

Leader: Owen, The one who lives his own Legend

Dragon: Freedom Badge (freedom to imagine freely)

TM: Dragon Claw

Gym layout:

There are five rooms. The first one is a crystal cave style, which features a dark maze that has three paths, only one of them leads to the next room. the other two lead to junior trainers.

The second room is a nice fresh coniferous forest that has various statues which must be touched in a certain order (there's a pattern in the middle of the room that details what the order is)

The Third Room takes the challenger into a sky high environment which features narrow pathways and wind. One must control their movement and glide down the path to the door to the next room. Failure to reach this door will drop the challenger on to a platform with a junior trainer who guards a warp panel to the room entrance.

The Fourth room is the upper limit of a snowy mountain Vision is heavily obscured by snowfall. No trainers. Once you reach the cloud line you reach...

The Leaders Room. Take the Throat of the World in Skyrim. Roughly apply that to this setting. There's a stone structure where Owen sits inside at a writing desk with a complete library of fantasy novels.

Idealistically, this'd be a high level gym.

Pokemon

Dragonite,

Kingdra

Garchomp

Goodra

Hydregon

Haxorus (final pokemon regardless of order)

While it might have a lot of weaknesses, grass is an amazing type. The horror you can inflict as you can either put your foe to sleep, paralyze them, plant a leech seed on them, then set up and try to sweep. Horribly beautiful.

Gym puzzle:

You travel through a laboratory filled with Scientists and Engineers. You have to ride platforms and they can either take you to a password locked gate, or a trainer who might tell you the password if you beat them. Keep doing this process 3 times and the last time you will ride the platform and it will shoot sparks out of the sides. It will then be picked up by a crane and put you on a few metal bars next to a door a floor above. Inside you will find me.

Quotes:

"Hm? another challenger... you aren't the first one today."

"Heh, quite the confident one aren't you? You probably already know I specialize in the steel type. That's why I know what pokemon you might have brought to combat my pokemon."

"..."

"Hehehe, It'll take much more than that Traveller."

"So much more *zooms in on his face*"

*Battle begins*

(on first hit) "Well I suppose it is time to actually try."

(knocks out one of your pokemon before you knock out Lairon) "Heh? D-did you plan that!? what are you doing?"

(down to your last pokemon) "You'd better have a good plan here! Don't let it be over so quick!"

(knock out his first pokemon) "Hmph, not bad... but I wasn't expecting that to last long."

(down to his last pokemon) "I'll show you how I have planned this out!"

(his pokemon down to yellow) "W-what!? A-are you holding back!? This next move could make or break your plans!"

(his pokemon down to red) "Heh, seems you DID have a plan..."

(he beats you) "Hmmm... So you didn't REALLY have a plan did you?"

(you beat him) "Well I suppose that is that. You have managed to break my plans all the way through, I suppose you deserve this..."

(after battle) "It always feel like I've won if I've faced someone like you. Even if I did lose. Ahh sorry I'm rambling. Here is the Alloy Badge."

" It will make pokemon up to level 90 always trust in the plans you have in future endeavors, I expect to see you at the Pokemon League Trainer."

"HEY HEY WAIT! ugh... sorry I forgot to give you this."

(after giving you Iron Head)

"This move will allow your pokemon to attack at such strength the opponent will flinch in fear... What? That's it... go!"

Did I do good? :3

Industrial Kingpin Jacob

Badge-Gear Badge (6th)

Levels-45-49

Location-Productia City

TM-Flash Cannon

Gym Puzzle-The gym itself is a large steel mill with 4 elevators, the final of which leads to the leader. Each elevator requires a key to work. While fighting trainers along the way, you must find the mould for the key and a machine to fill the mould with molten iron and cool off making a key that will activate the door. Each door has a different key. After four elevators, you reach the rooftop where you find the gym leader.

Intro-"I don't care if it's a 'national park', that area is important for our business!" Looks up and sees the trainer. "I gotta go, there's a gym trainer. That park better be demolished." Hangs up phone. "Welcome to the Productia City Gym, also the main source of steel for the entire region! I'm the Chief Executive Officer here, just call me Jacob though. You can probably guess I use Steel types can't you? There's just something so reliable about cold, hard steel. That's why I'm expanding my metallic grasp for more and more everyday. Anyway, you wanted a battle right? Let's do it. I'll demolish you like I demolish landscapes!

After-"You've blown me to pieces alright. Trust me, that's not easy to do. I think you've earned this. With the Gear Badge, Pokémon up to Level 55 will work like a well oiled machine. You know what? Here, take this too. It's the TM for Flash Cannon. It's a strong special Steel attack that might lower the foe's Special Defence. It's really efficient. Well, I've got a business meeting scheduled soon, so I guess I'll see you again sometime for a rematch."
