Arceus's role in Rejuvenation and some speculations about V13.5 (spoilers)

Yup, here we go again with another of my posts and stuffs related to the lore of the game. I could have done this with the Spoilers thread, but I think this post was too much big for that thread and would have a long explanation with some speculations in the end about the last 5 minutes of story content within Paragon Route. Like title said, I'm trying to explain the role and story of Arceus in Rejuvenation, who supposed to be the "cover Pokèmon" of the game, or at least, it was in many previous versions of the game. And its story was...a bit hard to understand and Karma Files changed it even more, conflicting in many explanations existing before .Karma Files. More than that, I would like to put some speculation about the Karma Files we saw after Erin decrypted everything, to add more to the "Arceus"'s whole thing. Well...enough with the talk, let's go. (*insert Arceus's OST or something.*)

0. With imitations comes lies.

With the first pieces of .Karma Files and the battle with another fellow Interceptor, actually our "half in power", Crescent, Adrest is finally awakened and granted us the "final form" of the Interceptor, a sort of Knight form similar to Madame X's suit. But after this awakening, he explains how his powers are just a barely imitation of the "one and true Arceus" and the Archetype too, divided between the four children of Anathea, is an imitation. We get to know that he was a mere volounteer mixed in an amalgamation of souls who were used to create a false god and probably him being a third of an originaly deity, ancestor to humans and Pokèmon, was all a lie. Actually, the Original Deity could be all a lie, but not at 100%. We will reach it soon. But a question comes out from this: why Nymiera.exe would lie about Adrest and this Originaly Deity splitted in three?

1. Arceus, the Old Earth and the "First Sin"

Well...not exactly a "First Sin", it's just a reference. Still, Adrest addressed this as the greatest sin humanity made and it was towards their "one and true" god: Arceus. Just Arceus, the one we always know since Gen 4. Like Adrest explained, once there was the Old Earth, a world with just a big continent divided by 7 nations. Myridian was the center of science discovery and technology evolution. There, humanity made discovery about the Soul, a powerful amount of matter inside people that could be manipulated, enpowered, mutated and more. With this, humankin tried to make esperiments and research to make a step further to great evolution. Arceus, who was aware of a possible tragedy strucking within humankind, tried to stop these experiments, angering the humans who declared war to their god. Despite their victory, tragedy still happened: Arceus was not only the god, but the sustainer of the entire world: Earth stopped turning, the water were dried and Pokèmon, probably included Legendaries, went to a complete extinction and humanity soon started to follow. Since some rests of Arceus remained, Garufa Encorporated, which Variya and her son Adrest were in, take the golden Arch of Arceus, which mutated into the Archetype and tried to test it into humans, with the desperate purpose of finding a sustainer who would take place of Arceus, Unfortunatelly, the results weren't positive, with volounteers who couldn't resist the power of the Archetype resulting in the Genesis Syndrome taking their body. Who survived instead was granted with inhumans powers and some "Archetype traits", like it happened with Anathea's children and, probably, Adrest and Variya. Unfortunatelly, these souls were mere imitations and could not take Arceus's role. Plus, humanity, as always, was not full happy with killing their gods and Garufa Encorporated tried to use the Archetype for war purposes. In a desperate attempt of fixing everything, Variya and 17 volounteers used the Archetype (probably the Archetype could be easily drained by survivors) to enter the center of Earth and built The Core to sustain Ley Lines all around the globe and a "Reset System" which could absorb all souls of dead people and use them to make a new world and making new life. This meant doing genocide with the old humans and destroying the rest of the Old Earth, which then said rests remained far away under the New World. To help the new humans, Variya and the 17 volounteers united their souls to make a Pseudo-Arceus, the Overseer, who will guide the new humans later on. Unfortunatelly, one of these volounteers was killed and Adrest had to fuse his soul in order to activate everything. In short, the current world is a recycled world and it seems like only once the World was resetted.

2. Karma.

Adrest explained that he and his mother weren't on good terms and some of her projects were hidden to him, especially the Interceptor project, which he knew at last due to him having to take substitute of a dead volounteer. One of these came to our knowledge thanks to some information hidden in The Core, which they were taken by one of its "connectors", our Zeight: Karma. Karma is a self-learning AI which has the job of finding the best world within the recycles and controlling The Core's informations, like past, present and future of people, beasts and enviroments. It could shut the Core off if a world is not good enough for the best "ending" or dissolve it and give back humanity and Pokèmon free will. In order to function, it need one active Interceptor at least, a being capable of change fate itself and denying Karma's directives. With some perks hidden in the depths of Zeight, the Interceptor can escape Karma's intervention on themselves and destroy Karma's control. Right now, it seems like MC and Crescent divide this role, since the latter used that to make sure to bring back her lover instead of...you know.

3. Time for speculation.

Well, after explaining what happened to the true Arceus and adding Karma's information, which I'll soon use, it's time to some speculations.

3.5.1. Arceus and Original Deity.

One problem of the plot of .Karma Files was the conflict between Arceus's .Karma Files story and Arceus's story with Chapter 13 and 15. The Original Deity was splitted in three beings, one still unknown and the other two being Adrest and Arceus, who became the Archetype. Obliviously, like I said before, this was probably a lie, since Arceus already existed and Archetype was a fraction of its powers, a sort of...material, we could say. But I don't think Nymiera.EXE completely lied: an Original Deity actually existed and it was the Overseer and probably splitted, since Adrest's soul merged with us, the player, while other 3 (actually, maybe 2) souls were infused with programs who were excecuted later after New Earth's birth. So, partially, the Nymiera's story is correct. But if I have to put a reason for her lies is that because she's programmed to have certain memories or would want to lie about her past life before the New Earth because she knows about the old humans' sins. Why I'm saying this? Well...

3.5.2. Nymiera and Nymiera.EXE are NOT the same...probably.

Did you notice that I always used Nymiera.exe with the normal Nymiera? Well, Nymiera was the name of one the volounteers for the Overseer, with her soul used to activate the program Nymiera.EXE, who took human form, become the Xerneas Host and later we get to know her with our travel. If you remember, the Nymiera from Zeight was older than our. I think Nymiera became later the Zeight Admin after her soul was used and Nymiera.EXE became another entity without Old Earth's memories and forged new ones. After all, Nim expained that she started to see Nymiera's memories and she's confused as much as Melia about the 3rd Layer's environment. Unfortunatelly, I still don't know details on how works the Soul and what happens to the dead individual in some cases, so everything here is again speculation.

3.5.3. Missing is...dead. Maybe?

Originally, I thought Missing.EXE is an unknown host for Zygarde. Then I realized: "Wait but there is a dead volounteer. And 10% Zygarde is obtainable." So, I putted 2+2 and thought: in Rejuvenation there is no "Balance". Nymiera.EXE. has some...questionable methods and Vitus.EXE is...you know. Rituals, destroying the world...well...Life and Death are not balanced enough. So, if Missing is dead, Missing.EXE could not work because the former died before submitting their soul for the project. After Admin's battle in Cubi Excellus, the journal states that the original Operator of that place, Zygarde, could not fully operate due to it struggling to keep its form and it had to appoint Groudon as the new Operator. Zygarde's struggles to keep itself and diving into cells could be explained by what I said: there is no host for Zygarde and, like Yveltal and Xerneas, needed one to be infused with.

3.5.4. Who is Karma?

Arceus. Wait. Hear me out: Rejuvenation like to lie to us, telling one thing and then it's the opposite, or "You thought Character X was dead? No, they are ok". What if...Karma is Arceus, or at least, it was made by its soul? Think about it: we know what is going with Legends Arceus and stuffs, but we should have known that it's not so easy to get rid of him. So...since Variya liked to hid her project, what if she found its soul? If we think from Variya's perspective, we should see that humanity got corrupted due to their desire for freedom and power, and this was their doom, so they need to be controlled. Who is better to control humans if it was more "cold" than Arceus itself? Other than this, some similarites between the two can already be seen: Positive Karma's eye has Arceus's color scheme, the False Genesis Glyph in the Aelita's Nightmare Realm path had an eye and it wasn't a mockery to the true glyph and Karma's job is to make sure the judged world can reach its best ending. Or finding one fittable for a best ending.

4. Conclusion: Arceus's death is the Catalyst for Rejuvenation.

Arceus's death declared the end of the Old Earth, the Variya's struggle to fix everything and fight humankind's selfishness, World is resetted, Nymiera and Vitus did stuff, Storm-9 happened, Madame X does stuffs to try to reset the world with secrets of Old Earth, the Interceptor's role is assigned to MC, etc etc etc. Nothing else to say or to repeat. If Arceus won who knows what could have happened, I'll leave it to you.

Finally, it's over. Took me beating three times in a row Crescent to re-read everything from Adrest's story. To be honest, I'm preferring the new Arceus's story with the Old Earth, instead of a meteorite to kill a god. A meteorite. Like said, many things are mere speculations and I had to put things about Nymiera and Missing due to them being related to the "fake Arceus", the whole "Soul thing" and more. Feel free to add speculations and questions.

Karma being Arceus' digitalized soul is interesting and makes a certain amount of sense. It would explain why it's able to generate worlds.

Though the only factor I can think that is against that speculation is that it's a self learning A.I according to the file. Why would Arceus' soul need to be self learning then?

Then again, Karma could just be made from/powered by Arceus' soul.

I'm not sure how truly a Soul work, but it could be that Arceus' soul "resetted" somehow and needed to relearing almost everything. Or... taking Nymiera.EXE's situation, her soul didn't "reform" the Old Earth Nymiera's person and instead Nymiera.EXE became another entity who had different memories. My guess is that the Soul could not be the same as its person (like Keta's back in Chapter 2), so it could be use for different purposes, manipulated and changed. Maybe even Old Earth Vitus was a better person that Vitus.EXE. Still, Karma acts much similar to Arceus.
