underground railnet puzzle isnt working

the barrier to the west has no switch and is covered in red. the barrier on the east side doesnt get destroyed/open. the train ive seen from walkthroughs of the game is different and actually on the rails. when i talked to shelly and the others they disapeared after saying something like "go find (i forgot the rest)" the train i found is further down to the left and its a weird green color

also yeah i did arrange them into both the west and later the east barriers

So did you figure it out then? In case you hadn't, that gate is unrelated to the puzzle

The west gate is not accessible until the train has moved, you will then be able to go further down from where the train was to find a rock smashable wall to get behind the west gate and trigger the switch on the other side of it

What do you mean by the train is not working? You're supposed to arrange the rails in a way that the train is able to get all the way to the east and then go into the train. As for the red gate, iirc there is a path from somewhere south of it that lets you get behind it and use the switch to open the gate.
