If you haven't done it by that point, Crawli will have taken care of the Rift himself by the time you meet him at the entrance to Kakori Village. If you did help him with it, Crawli mentions it and you get a relationship point with Melia, while if you didn't, Crawli mentions that he did it. Even in V7-V8 before that quest existed and it was just the optional second Rift battle though, going there after you got the diary didn't change anything. Link to post Share on other sites

Spoiler After overhearing Gardevoir and the policemen in Kugearen Woods, you can find a key behind where she was speaking (it’s a sparkle on the floor). After that, you can use the key to access an apartment in Kugearen, which is where you can obtain the diary. If you picked it up, you can show it to Melia before battling Rift Garbodor, allowing you to save it. Link to post Share on other sites
