Omega_Ra1der Posted January 9, 2016 Posted January 9, 2016 Been messing with dk and this is probably my best match with him. Quote

Flux Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 ...So it looks like I'm a Puff main. I'm pretty new to competitive Sm4sh as a whole, coming from Melee as some of you might have heard before. While I've owned the game for a while, I've never put much time into playing it or learning the intricacies of competitive play, so any tips would be appreciated. I've settled on Puff as a main for right now, as I found her to have translated the best out of any of my Melee characters, and so I have a clip here to share for some critique. This is honestly probably the worst of the three videos that I wanted to upload for critique purposes, simply because it's the video I had the most dominating performance in, but the other two were too long (3 min limits are pretty stupid... Guess that's what I get for picking a defensive character like Puff), so this one's all I've got. I got the feeling that the guy I was playing wasn't the greatest, but I've definitely played worse people too. This is the second of two games we played. Our first game was pretty close, and I was honestly really disappointed with how I was playing because I knew I should've beaten him by much more than I did. He was actually winning the first game by a good bit until I clutched it at the end with a Rest. I think I picked it up a bit and played much better in the video I have here though. I think the best example of my play is in a video I have of me vs a pretty good Zelda, but that one was too long... Anyway, if you notice anything you can critique I'd really appreciate it. Dark Desire whooped me a while back on 3DS, so maybe I can see if I've improved since then (Even though I never played Jiggs back against him, but.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯) Plus I have a C-Stick on Wii U, which I like to use for aerials, so my spacing is much better than it was on 3DS. Shing Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 Found a sm4sh youtube comment. This made me chuckle. Quote
Darvan Korematsu Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=7ooyje41Ox4 This video right here. It's pretty funny in on itself as a montage for For Glory. However, I wanted to bring it up because at around 3:15 read the name of the red Olimar, as it most likely had been piloted by one of the Rebornian Smash players. Congrats for unknowingly making himself a Youtube idol. Quote
Shanco Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I don't think that's Godot... There are actually a lot of people named Godot out there on For Glory. And I know the one here doesn't play Olimar...well last I checked, anyway. The character Godot is actually a pretty popular dude from the Ace Attorney series. Quote
Godot Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 I don't hafta click the link to know what montage he is talking. About. I personally thought the montage was lame and I had like 4-5 people show it to me asking me if it was me. I don't play Olimar outside of casuals. I main Little Mac, Bowser, Robin, Ike, and Fox. Also, the only person I played 2v2 FG with is Mael and he and I played Megaman and Ganon, Bowser/Mac and DK, Lucario and Mewtwo, or Robin/Ike and Ike. Quote
Dark Desire Posted January 16, 2016 Posted January 16, 2016 hoooooollyyy genesis sm4sh crew battles SoCal vs Japan was amazing, especially zero vs ranai, there's no doubt who's the best sm4sher in the world now Quote
Shanco Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 http://imgur.com/USOW1qa A new tech that involves perfect pivot crouching. Seems to be exclusive to Fox for now. Quote
Dark Desire Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 would you be able to spam that if you inputted fast enough? idunno how much more useful that could be rather then just going for regular perfect pivots Quote
Shanco Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Perfect pivots had a small window of lag after being executed. That window is removed by crouching, essentially acting as a cancel of sorts. Quote
Another Felix Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 Looks like Fox can wavedash again. Time to learn this for my secondary. Quote
Godot Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I wouldn't be surprised if Mac could do it since he and Fox share some similar properties. Quote
Godot Posted January 22, 2016 Posted January 22, 2016 My new main http://kotaku.com/someone-made-hyrule-temple-playable-in-smash-bros-1754465560 Still not as big as Ridley Quote
Shing Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 I'm thinking of using Palutena serious again. And speaking of palutena, why does she have so much lag on the tilts? Like her moveset have hecka lag. Her aerials is good through. Also the last patch with bayonetta, i'm hoping so much that the low tiers get the important buff they needs. I doubt but still ;~; Quote
Shanco Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 Palutena's tilts are so slow, but their hitboxes are up for a long-ass time. So their main purpose is to stop dashes and clash with other characters' attacks, thus emphasizing being defensive. Quote
FraRPetO Posted January 24, 2016 Posted January 24, 2016 My new main http://kotaku.com/someone-made-hyrule-temple-playable-in-smash-bros-1754465560 Still not as big as Ridley Sensei is getting even more OP. Quote
Godot Posted January 27, 2016 Posted January 27, 2016 Pretty sure Street Fighter X Tekken had a larger roster. Edit SFxTK had 55 MvC2: 56 UMvC3: 50 Sm4sh: 58 Also for Sora in Smash, Super Smash Flash 2 says hi. Quote
krim Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 So what is you guys' opinion on this rumor? My thoughts. I predicted something like this a while back, since it would really lessen Sakurai's work load, and allow him to keep working on Smash. More time to work on characters, stages, everything. Honestly I expect it to be a port of the Wii-U version with new stuff. (Wolf and Ice Climbers...? Maybe?) Quote
Shanco Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 You can't really trust any Smash rumors at this rate; especially since Sakurai is most likely not involved with this one. Quote

We still haven't received all the DLC characters yet, and after that it would make sense for the game to sink in for a few years. Quote
Godot Posted January 28, 2016 Posted January 28, 2016 I would just expect it to be a complete collection. Smash Wii U with all the DLC. Quote
