Tartar Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 ... It's been hours. and the more I pages I finish, the more pop up. Naturally I'm talking about TvTropes, and how it's slowly ruining my life. and my vocabulary. It all started with me going onto TvTropes to read about Video Game bosses, and lo and behold, the rabbit hole has continued for the past 7 days, and me having read more than 200 TvTropes pages in the meantime (I counted) I am still nowhere done with finishing all of the tabs I have open... I simply do not know what to do. I want to leave, but it won't let me! Alas, the pull of that villainous website is calling to me... Must read more tropes... I cannot resist its pull any longer... Cobalt996 Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 That happens to me one time every month-or-three. Only if I have night hours that I'm not working or otherwise have filled with games, coding, etc. Quote
Lord Chespin Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 Dude, I'm the one who made the TVTropes page for Pokemon Rejuvenation. I passed "addicted" a long time ago. Quote
Maelstrom Posted July 14, 2016 Posted July 14, 2016 I cba to read all them tropes. I really don't see the need to read that site. If you watch and read enough stuff, you already know all of that stuff deep in your blood pumper. Quote

It's about analyzing it, finding tropes in the weirdest places in media, and learning how to do tropes well. They've even got tips for aspiring writers! Quote

Support Squad Felicity Posted July 14, 2016 Support Squad Posted July 14, 2016 The tvtropes FB page is quite good. A random trope a day with an appropriate skit. If it's interesting, you check it out. A fair few are interesting. Quote
Alchemia Chan Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I tried reading TvTropes once. Never again. All those hours wasted reading one trope after the other. I'm just glad being sucked into that hellhole isn't uncommon. Quote
Garnet. Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 i like tv tropes bc its easy to come back to and revisit things but other than that its not too much my only problem is when im reading the tropes in a certain series and it keeps listing tropes i dont know and i have to keep opening fcking tabs holy shit that being said, most of the people i know who follow tvtropes are actually snooty and stuck up so please dont go down that path because i like you Quote
Zephyrus the Priestess Posted July 16, 2016 Posted July 16, 2016 used to be addicted to tvtropes, ran out of things to read on it and got bored with it. it's still pretty handy for reading up on works of literature or a weird video or anime that i don't really want to actually watch and/or read lol Quote
