Favourite Route?

Recommended Posts

Pretty simple question, what's your favourite Route in Pokémon?

For me, it's Route 216 in Platinum. The chilling blizzard and the sparse trees make you FEEL alone and cold. It feels like if you stop, you'll freeze to death.

Maybe it's slightly obvious, anyways...

Route 10 / Route 23 in Unova!

The music in Route 10 is great - it's famous for a reason, after all - and I like landscapes such as this one. Route 10 was the last route before the League, where I'd train up my team knowing that my "last" challenge was right in front of me, and I was rather sad when I got to know that it was not included in Black 2.

It's an important location also because this was also the place where I evolved my Lampent into a Chandelure in Pokémon White.

Route 23 - the last route before the League in Black 2 - was a good substitute all around. The music was very different: and while at first I was rather disappointed, I got used to the new soundtrack and it grew up on me - I actually find it quite fitting, considering that Route 23 was accessible only after defeating Team Plasma in the Giant Chasm. The landscape wasn't that different, but there were many new things, like a river, all of those bridges, that infamous Cut maze, and more trainers!

That's a tough question. If I had to pick, I'd say my favorite routes would be Route 113 in Hoenn (in its R/S/E design) because I loved the falling ash and the music that played there (although ORAS sort of took away its nostalgia for me), and Route 28 in G/S/C/HG/SS because it's the final route before Mt. Silver and the ultimate battle against Red.

Same with Cyaloom, Route 10 and Route 23 from Unova is my favorite! The settings: landscape and timing we got there, it's touching and awesome. I love the background musics there plus they have the most awesome badge completion gate check ever.

My other favorite are the desert of Hoenn Region, Route 113 from R/S/E and the snowy route of Sinnoh. It' s interesting that they are the polar opposite of hot and cold, respectively.

Route 222, Sinnoh. It appeases my sense of symmetry, and it's also the place where Magnemite are found in Sinnoh. Why Sinnoh? Because Platinum is the best Pokemon games ever!

I also like Route 228 (sandstorm route) and route 212 and 216-217 for the music.

NO WAY am I gonna choose one. Each and every route was always memorable to me, in some way. So I'm just gonna list my faves from each region ye ye ye

KANTO

Route 16, and 17

Route 16. If you can't remember where that is, it's that spot just five paces outside Celadon. The northern part is where you can find a house, in it a Trainer who gives you HM Fly. My favourite part about this route is that when you enter it, it narrows, before widening into something much, much more big, waiting to be explored.

I'd live in that house with the trainer because of how peaceful this whole area is tbh.

Route 17 is the opposite of that, though. Kanto's famouse Cycling Road, home to motorcyclists and cyclists alike. Located central Kanto, connecting route 16 and 18. Bro this place was THEHEHEHe spot to train I tell you. And as a kid, I had a blast pacing around this place.

JOHTO

Route 32, and Route 39

Route 32 is that loooong road (at least it was for me) that you encounter at the beginning of the game, right after exiting Violet city. You have the east entrance to the Ruins of Alph to your west, and go down a lil' you'll spot the sea, with some fishermen there, too. South of it is Union Cave, also. What I love about this route is the fact that the track of the Johto Magnet Train can be seen right above your head. Just like the map description said, nature meets technology.

After leaving Ecruteak and weaving through trees, you'll be faced with the farm located on Route 39. This place is just grassy and breezy. And the fact that it connects my favourite place in Johto, Olivine City, is also a plus. It's just so relaxing going south on your bike, breezing through already fought trainers.

HOENN

[[THIS WA S A HARD CHOICE FOR ME BC I LOVE HOENN'S HUGE WORLD AND EXPLORATION *stares at desert and sea and the route before Lilycove*-- BUT IN THE END I SETTLED WITH]]

Route 118, and 119

118 brings the east and west sides of Hoenn together. Where you meet Steven after such a long time. The route with the three way intersection. The eastern path leads to Route 123, which is another memorable route for me (mostly because of the Berry Master and confusing paths).

Go north, you'll enter...

Route 119. Connects 118 and Fortree. Home of the Weather Institute. The place where I found myself switching Mach and Acro bikes more often than I could count. This route is just brimming with hidden places to explore, really. Not to mention, it's beautiful. Whoever says this region is tropical, they were probably thinking of this route. Also the music here brings back so many memories I cry. I LOVE HOENN.

SINNOH

[[This, again, was a difficult choice for me. Because this region??? Brings back so many memories???]]

Route 225

When I think of Sinnoh...what comes to mind is the pretty graphics, the atmosphere, the snowy areas, and most of all, the Routes -- I remember it all vividly. I haven't replayed D/P/PT since what? 3 yearS??? I've tried doing nuzlockes, yes, but I gave up at the beginning. BUT despite it all I remember every detail there is to remember. The trainers, the catchable Pokemon on each route,...all those things! ...

Well, except for the music. I never really recall the music on each distinct area in Sinnoh. Oh, but the popular ones I do. Jubilife City, Lake theme, Eterna Forest...but that's really it, though. That's not to say the soundtrack in this game is forgettable in any way, it's just been such a long time. But, there's this one route which music I'll always remember.

225. Northeastern Sinnoh, located on the battle zone. Accessible only after the post game, and after seeing all the Pokemon there are to see in the region. Route 225 itself is fairly big, and challenging to traverse, too. It's mountainous and has multiple raised areas which are connected by bridges. But despite that, I've always loved the music here. It gives off a sense of adventure and joy. Like it's saying "your journey isn't really over". This place will always bring back good memories. And I have the soundtrack to thank for that.

---

I'd continue with Unova but bOI THIS IS GETTING WAY TOO LONG and it's late at night and I have 30 tabs open, no joKE. So uhm.

Bye. I'll add more maybe idk I took this list way too seriously lmao
