Pokemon Villain League

Honchy

Recommended Posts

I am making a Pokemon villain sort of league thing. I the already have one which is named The Cricket. He is a jumble of pokemon bug sprites meshed together on a human sprite. He shoots sleeping gas from his palms and has two Kricketune arms and Scythes attached to his arms. Any suggestions would be appreciated and the ideas I like the most will be featured in my new game as a major story thing in my upcoming game: Pokemon Classified.

So are you asking suggestions for villains. Would this game be something like a pokemon game except all the gym leaders/elite four are bad guys and you are trying to become the best bad guy. Could you please explain??

Maybe a person that tried to pursue their dreams in art, but was turned down for not being good enough and seeks to find someone to blame for their fate. As of consequence, turning away from the vivid color themes in their art-pursuing years, choosing for a strong Bisharp/Pawniard colorscheme/theme for them and their subordinates.

That kind of sounds like Hitler.

Why, yes my mate. At one of towns, before you fight the gym leader, a news report says a bank is being robbed by the Admins hired by the main bad guy team. When Crobatman is defeated, you and the gym leader Reggie (a rock type gym leader) have to go and stop the evildoers and there are going to be 5 of them. If you want to do the spriting, that's okay, but I just need some suggestions of some bad guys. However giving me an idea on how I should sprite them would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, so much yes. John Cena is now the new champion of my pokemon game. In fact, everyone in my game is now John Cena. No, every single word uttered in my game will just be John Cena. Oh, and my game is now called Pokemon John Cena.

*claps* that was quick. Funny isn't it? You could base a very humane, yet quite awful character on the guy. Did you get the colorscheme too, then?

The phantom bishop...hmm...if you're going for a more religious vibe for the person, that might work. Perhaps the "Black Bishop" if so?

He kinda needs a 'large' army (Pawniard-stylish) in order to make it work (would resemble the Dex really well).

Also, he must firmly believe in the convictions he shares. Looking at Ghetsis might help you with the dialogue of the character.

The effect will be even greater if the protagonist kinda follows some of his ideals, too...

Perhaps there are other real-life villains you could draw inspiration from.

^^Albert Fish is a good basis for flat out disturbingly evil and General Butt Naked(yes that's his actual moniker lol) for the wtf factor while being kind of funny. Fish's wikipedia page alone is nightmare fuel and GBN has a pretty entertaining mini doc on Youtube somewhere. Hitler is so overplayed and there's a lot of crazies out there who would make basis for more interesting characters.

You should have some diversity in the designs of the 5 dudes, like don;t just make them all young dudes with anime colored hair lol. It's such a common issue with fangames where like every gym leader is a young person with hair that matches their type. Like that's not a bad thing in itself, just that it's an issue when every other gym leader is seriously that. Not even the actual games do this(in fact every pokemon game makes sure to include a range of ages/occupations for their leaders) so I don't understand why so many fangames do other than being out of self-indulgence or lacking character design skills.

Developments have been made! Here is the sort of beta of Mantis, I will make changes, but here is a beta drawing.

Are you sure you attached the right image? Unless if my computer is screwing up the only image there is of a kriketune.

Could be overplayed, but I've never (or can't remember) seen him portrayed from the perspective I mentioned.

Albert Fish is pretty much a flat-out scary lunatic at first glance. Ed Panzram is perhaps equally disturbing, but his misantropy seems rooted and had some social commentary to it. I think the latter would be a better choice if you would pick between the two.
