  1. Are you online now? What's your ingame name?
  2. You can get a Trapinch in an event after Serra. There should be a house in the Chrysolia Forest (just outside of Spinel Town) with a guy trading it for a Mothim. Check this guide if you need help, that's still mostly relevant for Ep.18: If you are stuck I can trade you one.
  3. Arcanine, Golurk, Lucario and Alolan Muk all have physical attacks. If you replace Golurk with Flygon, that's still 4 physical attackers. You don't need that much. So replace one of them with A-Ninetales. Personally I don't really like your Arcanine, so I would swap him for A-Ninetales and maybe give fire punch to Lucario for coverage instead of bulldoze. But then you have 3 pokemon weak to fire :) Not too hard to manage, but swapping with Muk might be easier to balance, that's up to you. For your Ninetales, give it the ability Snow warning and the moves Aurora Veil / Nasty Plot / Dazzling Gleam / Blizzard. Snow warning cast hail immediatly, which gives Blizzard 100% accuracy and allows to use Aurora Veil turn 1. It doubles your defenses, a fantastic move that let Ninetales set up with Nasty Plot and gives a bit of support to your very offensive team. Holding a light clay makes it last for 8 turns, enough to end most fights. If you want an example, my current team endgame is composed of 2 physical sweepers, 2 special sweepers, 1 support and 1 wall. I am nowhere a specialist, but I found it to be a good balance ingame and should stay competitive online: 1- Exadrill - Earthquake / Iron Head / Sword Dance / Rock Slide. My first physical sweeper. 2 powerful STAB, SD to boost its amazing damage and Rock Slide for coverage 2- Scrafty - Drain Punch / Dragon Dance / Ice Punch / Crunch. Second physical sweeper. It is bulky enough to use dragon dance and then outspeed most of the opponents. Drain Punch goes well with its bulk, Crunch is its best STAB and Ice Punch covers my team moveset 3- Volcarona - Quiver Dance / Bug Buzz / Giga Drain / Heat Wave First special sweeper. Quiver Dance helps a lot to outspeed most opponents, Bug Buzz is its best bug STAB. Giga-Drain covers water weakness and help sustainability. I prefer Heat Wave for last move to hit all opponents in double battle, but flamethrower has more accuracy and Fiery Dance can boost SpA so all 3 are good. 4- Togekiss - Nasty Plot / Roost / Air Slash / Dazzling Gleam Second special sweeper. Roost helps to set up nasty plot. Air Slash with the ability Serene Grace is powerful STAB with 60% chance to flinch. Dazzling Gleam to take care of dragons. 5- Meowstic-M - Thunder Wave / Light Screen / Reflect / Psychic Support. Yes, that cat is rather weak. But with the ability prankster it is garanteed to put a screen for 8 turns or paralize the opponent. It works really well in my team and I can't find a reason to replace him. 6- Toxapex - Haze / Toxic / Recover / Scald Wall/Staller. When I hate someone I just throw Toxapex to their face. It has sky high defenses and can stall forever with Toxic + Recover. Haze removes all stats change so you can't set up against him. And Scald to scary for physical attackers. Overall, I don't have more than 2 pokemon sharing the same weakness and they all cover each others with their moveset (I am a bit weak against water opponents, but can manage). What I wanted to show is that to make your team, you don't necessarly need to just pick the 6 most offensive pokemon and hope to hit hard every opponents. My Toxapex alone would wall your team after Meowstic uses Reflect and Light Screen. So my advice would be to give a bit more support moves to your team. Lucario loves Sword Dance. Morning Sun might help Arcanine to fight 1 or 2 more turns. Muk should have Toxic to help against very resistant opponents... that's just some examples that would boost your team significantly I think. - Greninja. You want it to cover as much as possible due to its STAB and your moveset looks good. Giving him Spikes for the ground typing could be fun though and completly wall Electic pokemon send against him. - Lucario. I think you need Sword Dance. +2 Atk is no joke. And I would give him Bullet Punch. A +1 priority move is always useful in a team. Last move, Drain Punch if available, or Close Combat and then Ice Punch to cover - Vikavolt. I would remove Hidden Power and give it Thunder Wave. It is super slow so paralizing the opponent is really helpful there. Or use Agility to boost your own speed, might be better to sweep then. - Arcanine. If you keep him, I would run Extreme Speed. Powerful priority move. Flare Blitz is its best STAB and with morning sun you can recover from the recoil. Wild Charge can be a fun last move and surprise a water opponent. - A-Muk. I would replace Brick Break for Toxic to help when facing bulky opponents - A-Ninetales. Already expalined - Flygon. Earthqake / Dragon Claw. Its best 2 STABS in my opinion (I don't like Outrage). Then I would give it Dragon Dance and Defog. DD allows it to be faster than any other pokemon and boost attack. And Defog just because you have no other way in your team to manage hazards. But that's more a "competitive" move, Aerial Ace could also be nice as you have no flying move in your team That's my 2 cents, hope you find it useful. Take every advice with a pinch of salt, I am not good anyway^^ Good luck !
  4. Make yourself a favor and grab an A-Ninetales. Snow Warning + Aurora Veil + Light Clay + Nasty Plot + Blizzard = Good night Terra...
  5. Flamethrower on Arcanine is good, but I don't really like to run it mixed attacker. If you go full physical, Flare Blitz is much better and you can get morning sun as egg move if you are afraid of the recoil (to replace Iron Head). Give Lucario Sword Dance and maybe Bullet punch instead of Power-Up Punch and Bulldoze. SD is mandatory to sweep and Bullet Punch is always nice for the priority. Heavy Slam is kind of useless, maybe give Golurk Stealth Rock (or even Toxic) for an extra option. Also you have 3 pokemon weak to ground and only vikavolt to resist it, without a move to really fight back. I don't know if that's the team you used for Ciel, but that's a big weakness here in my opinion. I would probably swap Muk with Togekiss or Clefable, who are both bulky and would give you another special option as well as the (most likely) incoming dragon fight. Overall your team hits hard, but lacks defensive and support options. No healing, no set up moves, no hazard, no stalling/wall option... Giving 4 damaging moves to each of your pokemon is not the ideal solution most of the time. I guess ingame you do fine, but you would get murdered online^^ Godd luck
  6. I think Shelly is widely consdered as the most difficult during a first run because it comes so early in the game. You don't have a lot of pokemon available yet so your options are quite limited. Also everybody takes Blaziken and don't expect to be muredered by that Illumise too^^ I personally struggled more against Ciel because I didn't have proper answer to boosted Flying STAB in my main team and main rotation, and I was too lazy to babysit replacement pokemon back to level 70+ just for this fight.
  7. For Charlotte, you could grab a Camerupt. It resists fire and can 1-shot any opponent with Earth Power / EarthQuake. It is slow so it can work better if you pair him with a Prankster Meowstic-M who can use screens first turn. Holdng a light clay it would garantee you 8 turns of light screen which would reduce Eruption damage a lot. You could also lead the fight with a Drizzle Pelipper for a guaranteed Rain. Good luck.
  8. I would pick a moveset similar to Gastronely, seems really good - Dragon Dance is a must have to set up and sweep - Outrage / Dragon Claw. Your Dragon STAB. If you are afraid to be trapped with Outrage, get Dragon Claw - Iron Tail. Salamence is weak to Rock, Ice, and Fairy and a Steel move covers them all (Dragon weakness is covered already). - Roost. Salamence has good defenses, but Roost will help even more to set up with DD. Fly is its only good Flying STAB and I would not recommend it personaly as it gives a free switch to the opponent. You can run it adamant to maximaize its damage, EVs 4/252/252 in HP/Attack/Speed. Good luck
  9. Yeah, the cute pink fairy is a monster in this game. It can stall almost any team and Moonlight + Unaware means it can set up easily. And with +6 to all def and Stored Power, that's GG.
  10. Drapion would give him 3 pokemon really weak to ground attacks and only Charizard to resist it, without any move to fight back efficiently. This team won't beat Terra. And Krookodile would give him 3 pokemon weak to water with only Primarina to resist it (and again no movepool to really fight back). Amaria would be a wall this time. While both powerful pokemon, the team would have to be adjusted to incorparate them.
  11. On your question to replace Magnezone. I would consider Eelectross, which has no weaknesses at all and learn by level up the super useful thunder wave, acid spray and thunderbolt (and can learn flamthrower as well). Or Ampharos which can become Mega late game and has a great movepool as well. Personally I would replace Magnezone+Nidoking by Eelectross+Excadrill and use elemental punches on Gallade to cover (Psycho Cut, Drain Punch, Sword Dance + probably ice punch if you don't use Weasel).
  12. https://marriland.com/tools/team-builder/ This tool is useful to get a quick answer to the strenghts and weaknesses of your team. As other mentioned, a dark type would cover your only weakness to ghost, even if it is less relevant if you already beat Shade. Your team has a mix of physical and special attackers so you could consider Umbreon as a wall and to be more of a support for the other 5 members (Toxic + Moonlight would work well with him). If you prefer a more offensive pokemon, Weavile is great (and is double-type).
  13. Oh right. So you need Haze and Dark then. Let's say Toxapex Haze + Toxic and your own Umbreon?
  14. Thanks for your answer. You confirm what I though, that Reborn favors more fast 1-hitter sweepers (hence Blaziken considered OP here) than any other kind of strategy. I might adapt it a bit to get more answers to the gym leaders you mentioned and your idea of adding Kangastan is interseting in that sense.
  15. That sounds like just horrible grinding but good luck! By your rules you need to get Noivern before Julia and no Great Hall opponents, which is just ridiculous madness for me and a big No No^^ Maybe consider using mod to increase the XP earned after each fight? I guess it breaks the challenge a bit but would save you hours and hours of grinding.
  16. Baton Pass, Baton Pass everywhere^^ Yeah I can understand the frustration. Not too much answer to that team, but I'd try an unaware Clefable/Quagsire to nullify all the set up.
  17. Evolution stones are also possible rewards when you mine, I remember getting moon or ice stones like that for sure, Maybe someone can confirm Thunder stones are available that way as well?
  18. I would call that a powerful team sure, but not necessarly annoying. I mean being swept by Excadril or Gyrados is no surprise, right? I am trying to build a team that would make most opponent rage quit here^^
  19. Hey, it is me again! While having fun with my run of Reborn, a thought came to my mind; "what's the most annoying team you could face". And I love stallers, so I decided to try my team on paper. I tried to cover all weaknesses and use moves and pokemon restricted to Reborn only: Hippodon - Earthquake / Slack off / Stealth Rock / Sandstorm Classic hippo here, massive HP and physical def, Earthquake for STAB, Stealth Rock and sandstorm to be annoying, Slack off to stay in fight forever Clefable - Toxic / Cosmic Power / Moonlight (Self-boiled) / Moonblast That cute pink thing is a monster. Seriously. Start with Toxic. Then set up Cosmic Power supported by Moonlight (or self-boiled if we can get it, can't remember). Add Moonblast for a powerful STAB and an ability that makes it ignore any stat boost from opponent... Any non poison/steel pokemon has no answer to that. Toxapex - Toxic Spikes / Recover / Haze / Scald I discovered this pokemon with Reborn and I fell in love. Monstruous defenses, can set Toxic Spikes and last forver with Recover. Haze to prevent opponent setting up and Scald is a permanent threat for any physical attacker. Oh and give him Black Sludge for extra recovery. Ferrothorn - Protect / Leech Seed / Knock-off / Giro-Ball Holding a big root probably. Knock-off can be useful in some fights to remove powerful items. Protect + leech seed will slowly do the work. Giro-Ball should murder annoying fairy types. Mandibuzz - Roost / Toxic / Foul Play / Brave Bird Another reborn discovery for me. Decent defensives stats, Roost + Toxic and 2 STAB that can finish the job. Meowstic M - Psychic / Misty Terrain / Light Screen / Reflect What, Meowstic is not a staller why is it in your team? Well, Prankster + holding light clay. That's why. Give the rest of the team 8 turns of screens and garantee to remove any annoying field effect (I know, it means no more burn/poison, so weight the pro/cons before to use it). Alternatively, Snow-warning A-Ninetales could be used for Aurora Veil I guess. That's it, a staller team that can use entry hazards, burn, poison, leech, recover... in one word just annoy anything sent to its face. I know there are lots of other super strong stallers and walls, like Gourgeist (which learns WoW...), Skarmory, Snorlax, Blissey, Dusclops... And I am far from an expert with Pokemon strategies, so I would like your opinion on that team and if you think that is viable for a future Reborn run. Thanks.
  20. If you are playing now, I can trade you mine, fully trained.
  21. Maybe use Prankster Meowstic-M to set up Light Screen. This should greatly increase your Walrein and Camerupt survavibility, particularly if Darmanitan is already KO (it's her only Physcial Attacker so Light Screen will be really useful against her 5 remaining Pokemon). Holding Light Clay will make the screen last 8 turns as well.
  22. Charlotte fight can be really annoying because of her Typhlosion alone. On the field, Eruption will 1-shot almost any pokemon, resistance or not. In my opinion your Rhydon will get murdered, it is too slow and has crap Special def with nearly all your opponents having a very efficient attack against it. One way to cheese the fight is to change the terrain, with moves like Electric terrain or Mist for example. Just make sure you use a super fast pokemon for that, or abuse Focus Sash. And avoid Grass terrain for obvious reasons... With the terrain effect removed, any good water pokemon will become good again. A Toxapex will do wonder with its super high def stats, decent Water STAB and Toxic/Toxic spikes. Even rain dance can help there, but forget about water types if you don't change the terrain first. Also forget about Gyarados. Without trading or mods you won't get it so early in game. Alternatively fight fire with fire! That's actually the way I beat her, with mostly fire pokemon as well to abuse the super effect of the field. For that level up your Camerupt, Earthquake is fantastic here if you can avoid hitting your ally (and survice the first hits of course). Good luck!
  23. Thanks, I didn't know for Thunderbolt, as I said I porbably need to spend more time on quests in Agate city. I won't record my journey, I just play for the fun. But so far this challenge is not too hard, there are lots of pokemon available and a good diversity, probably easier that way than a mono run. If you want a bit of story, this is how my run goes so far: I fought against Julia with Monferno, Espurr, Kricketune, Budew, Linoone and Igglybuff. Not really hard after all, Technician Kricketune did most of the job. Then for Florina, I added Numel (for Linoone), Vanillite (for Budew) and Nidoran M (for Igglybuff). Again, not too much issue. After that I started level up Lotad as well, as I plan to use Ludicolo for a while, I just find its double typing super useful For Corey, I also levelled up Onyx and replaced Kricketune. Got more troubles, but I could kamikaze Numel to 1-shot that annoying Crobat (Lava Plume made the field explode killing all poke) and Mist from Vanillite allowed to control the terrain. I got Vullaby as egg reward and levelled it to get a flying type for Shelly. So I fought Shelly with Monferno, Camerrupt, Vullaby, Meowstic-M, Lombre (or Ludicolo, don't remember if I had the stone yet) and Onyx. I tried opening with Meowstic and Lombre to put screens on and so she would not put rain dance (or that also benefits my Lombre), but that failed miserably. So I tried again and Meowstic Fake-out allowed me to one shot Illumise with Camerupt and the fight was not that hard after. Again, Camerupt with Lava Plume / Earth Power was the ace of the fight. For Shade I changed my team again, with Infernap, Camerupt, Ampharos (to use the filed effect), Vullaby (Dark STAB), Meowstic-M and Sharpedo (Dark STAB). Meowstic alone almost won the fight, 1-shotting Gengar with Psychoc and setting up Light Screen for the rest of the fight. Now going towards Kiki. As you mentioned Arcanine and Medicham, I started levelling them up. I benched Vullaby and started to level up Ducklet to 30 to get roost and breed it for a Toxic+Roost Mandibuzz combo. I rotate between Infernap, Camerupt, Meowstic, Ampharos, Ludicolo, Medicham, Growlite, Sharpedo (bit disappointing with him but I keep it to cheese Garchomp, Arceus, Mewtow... with Destiny Bond + Focus Sash if needed) and Roselia fully leveled up and I started levelling Gothita as well for Kiki's fight. I also consider using Scrafty and/or Croagunk later, they both came with Drain Punch as egg move wich is nice (particularly for bulky Scrafty) That's it, fun run so far, makes me use pokemon I wouldn't otherwise. And I discovered some really useful ones, like Ludicolo (that double typing is neat), Prankster Meowstic (double screens + Psychic STAB by level up) or Camerupt (slow murder machine with Lava Plume and Earth Power).
  24. You're welcome, thanks for the tips and enjoy the game !
