  1. Onyx nods, stretching out a little. "Yes, I can use it on others, though I'll warn you it's a little uncomfortable until you get used to it. It'd probably be better to use a Water version, but I don't have that right now." When questioned about returning back to town, she'd lean over to pick up her dress from earlier, doing her best to shake off most of the dirt and fold it up for easier carrying. "Yes, that sounds nice. I need to find somewhere to settle down for the night and do some experiments."
  2. After finishing with Satomi, Rivers turns to finishing her own bathing. Eventually, she satisfies herself that she's as clean as she's going to be, stepping out of the little stream and collecting her rune-board, closing the bracer portion around her arm before quickly drawing a pair of symbols in the air, a line of light following her finger. ViMe She fills the spell with her will, sending wind spinning around her, water blown off her skin, drying her off rather quickly as she begins to dress herself in her borrowed clothes and boots, as those were mostly fine.
  3. Rivers smiles, fording over to Satomi and helping to wash her back, at least as best as she can without proper tools and supplies. "We really do need to get soap, shampoo, and things. Only so much we can do without. And don't worry, if she tries anything, I shall fight with you." She winks.
  4. As the two put hands on Lena's shoulders, she reaches up and touches a small orb situated at her throat, inset into the collar around her neck. There's a feeling of displacement for a moment, and those around them would see the three blur momentarily, before vanishing entirely. From their perspective, it's the word that blurs and fades, replaced by a wide, perfectly flat plain which stretches for a mile or so in all directions, eventually ending in large, imposing cliff faces that encircled the area. They'd arrived in the middle of a central square, and the only feature to be seen appears to be a large, western-style home which would be directly in front of them on arrival. The wind doesn't blow here, it seems. A dismal place, honestly. Lena pauses, then walks off to the opposite direction of the home, crouching down on the edge of the square, obviously wondering how big of a pit they'd need to store them, what would be required for their upkeep, and so on.
  5. oh. Oh. Ooooooooh. She's one of those! Rivers... doesn't actually react visibly, unlike Satomi, just a minor chuckle as she continues to clean herself. "Ah, I see. Well, I can't exactly blame you, though I'm not particularly attracted that way. Satomi, would you like me to help clean your back? Likely easier that way, though we're working with limited resources as it is. Alas, a lack of soap prevents us from being properly clean."
  6. Rivers smiles, nodding to Jun. "Thank you for your help, Jun. Honestly, I don't think I ever want to put that back on again, so I'm glad I have this other dress." Speaking of, she lays the dress out on a nearby stone and climbs into the water, beginning to bathe herself, at least as best as she can at the moment. "indeed, though with the general lack of protection around here I could understand wanting to keep an eye out. If you're worried about that, I'm sure we can keep an eye out once we're done so you can bathe."
  7. She chuckles, shaking her head. "I think the dress should be everything. Simple things I can figure out. This dress is... Not simple. Go figure, style over practicality when you can change with a gesture and a thought. I'll likely be wearing the other clothes until I can make it less of a nightmare anyway. Help would be appreciated."
  8. She sighs, pausing and stopping her efforts for a moment. "I've never taken them off manually before. Only with my Equipment System, which I lost access to upon arriving here. It's likely a part of my world that either couldn't make the translation or simply was not tied to me, but the universe as a whole, and thus didn't come with me. So... No, I suppose, I have not."
  9. "On the contrary, I think that would be quite enjoyable. I'd like to hear about it sometime, if you don't mind." Rivers smiles slightly at her, turning to follow the river in the direction indicated, one foot in front of the other. "I don't know anything about empires, or about galaxies or anything, just the Clusters, mostly the one I lived on. Scouting out new places, making new settlements... that was our life. Now I'm here, protecting something bigger." Finally reaching the river, she pauses, as if hesitating about something, a hand half-raised, before starting to attempt the fasteners on her dress, having a bit of a time of it, as if she'd never really taken it off before.
  10. Rivers tenses up somewhat at the goats, keeping her eyes on them until they move on, then breathes out, shaking her head. "You can call me Rivers, if you'd like. I was given a recording of your initial encounter with them, I do not remember anything before waking up in the cave other than my home. I am from Ard Skea, the central city of the Omicron shard cluster. I doubt that means anything to you, being travelers from other universes. And the two of you?"
  11. "It's Rivers, plural, actually. And you'd be surprised the kind of people I've met. Some people do it to be more intimidating, or just for appearances, or they like to make people ask. But yes, let us depart." She'd fall into step next to Jun, happy to have a chance to get herself presentable again... shame about the dress, she'll need to fix it sometime.
  12. Rivers smiles, shaking her head when Jun comments that she'd understand if she didn't believe her. "Not to worry, I don't believe you have a reason to lie to me, ergo, I will believe that you are, in fact, a woman. Just tell me when you're ready to go and I'll be ready."
  13. The woman nods, then shifts on her feet to get more comfortable as she waits for everything to clear up. "I'll be glad to take that offer." Honestly it'd be a little awkward if that was a man, since it was so hard to tell, but with the whole thing where the world provides sufficient cover to preserve modes... wait. Does this world do that? Shit it probably doesn't, it doesn't do anything else. "Ah... amendment to that. I apologize if this is a strange question, but are you man, woman, neuter, both, or other?" And back to the fellow that was offering her essence... okay, likely a different kind of essence, from the description. Still useful. "I'll take some of the slimes and eyes, please. Especially the eyes, since cold is apparently readily available."
  14. "Oh, I see. I'll likely have to see what can be done with it, then. What kinds do you have?" She smiles, seeming rather interested, pausing from her attempting to figure out which direction she could go to un-dirt herself.
  15. "Oh, why, thank you! I'll make good use of it. Now... I really should get cleaned off, someone mentioned I should get an escort to a nearby river? Afterward, I shall commence... Research." Oh boy the pronunciation of that last word was a mite bit creepy.
  16. Her eyes tilt upward, attempting to get a good look at the bird. "Oh. Well, that makes things somewhat more difficult then. Hmm... Perhaps I can extract the necessary Essence from magically charged items or resources, though that would likely make the original items somewhat non-useful unless they have some way of naturally attracting such energies..."
  17. Rivers continues to listen, while considering inwardly just what she can provide here. She was primarily a Runecaster, and hadn't had time to progress her profession skills. She knew how they functioned, and like all Phased had some basic knowledge of them, but it would take time to get any of them to full effectiveness. Goblins, however, tended to be relatively low in power, so even basic equipment would function... and the villagers here didn't appear to be Phased, so it's unlikely they had much equipment at all. Then again, neither were these adventurers. There was... something about them, a feeling not unfamiliar, but not quite identical to what she was used to feeling around other Phased. Eventually, she speaks up. "I might be able to help with some of that, and provide some basic crafts, but I'll need to do some experiments to make sure things work the same way here as where I'm from, whether my crafts work and how to progress them. I've spent a little time getting the hang of Essence-Crafting, and I saw many slimes back where I came from, so I may be able to gather some scraps. Do you know the Affinities of the monsters around here?"
  18. There isn't really an emotional response to the mockery, just a raised eyebrow. "I woke up in a cave with too narrow an opening to leave comfortably. Once I was out, there was not a chance to bathe. I deemed safety and expediency more important than cleanliness or being wholly presentable. I apologize if I have offended you by taking this seriously. Also, yes, Onyx is fine, or Rivers." She does, indeed, take the clothing, however, simply because her clothes were in fact badly in need of repair, and she listens closely to the dryad when she speaks about what they needed to do. Several large creatures, infantry, and other things of the like. Likely too close together to take out normally... Yes, a plan would have to be formulated.
  19. Rivers was standing there, among complete strangers, covered in dirt, in an already-skimpy dress torn and tattered from climbing through roots and rocks, which now revealed likely slightly too much of her form, and faced with what appeared to be a dryad, who appeared to have some sort of quest. Likely a rare one, given the circumstances. Oh boy, she'd never been sourced for a rare world event before... wait no, this was beyond that. What do you call events that go beyond the World? Universal? Megaversal? Multi... Know what, not worth it. "Oh. Um... Yes. I believe so. Hello... everyone. I believe I'm supposed to join you all, it's a pleasure to meet you. I'm Onyx Rivers of Mourning, I specialize in Glyph Magic, please take care of me." Her voice wasn't quite monotone, but it was mostly inflection-less, not really expressing any sort of character, just... flat.
  20. Well okay then. That is indeed true. "Thank you, Miss!" She turns, heading toward where she'd indicated, nodding to herself and heading down the path, seeking those she was apparently fated to join.
  21. A ship? and someone inside it. Surrounded by... slimes. Hm. This becomes a question. Either this is a standard Shard, in which case they're likely of relatively little threat and perhaps even passive, or this is one of those Shards, and her approach would lead to them attempting to divest... no, best not to think about it. Either way, she will have to approach, and they seem to be ignoring her thus far, so likely they were not aggressive. Rivers approaches, specifically heading toward the yellow... ship? How curious, there were a few shaped like it back home, even, though this seemed slightly more animated. No Gate, though with craft like these that's likely little problem. "Hello there, can anyone hear me!?" She speaks loudly, but mostly without inflection, attempting to get this person's attention.
  22. Anea moves to E-5, Heals Alwine. "Come on Alwine, up you come." Anea smiles, helping Alwine back to her feet.
  23. She pauses, tapping her foot on the ground and trying to think. Eventually, she nods, writing out one final message.
  24. Well, at least she's out, even if she is covered in dirt. She brushes off what she can, a slight frown on her face, before turning her gaze to the building in the distance. A settlement. Likely people there. Maybe a Gate back to this place's Hub? No, unlikely given what she'd seen before, but it's likely at least got something, and she has precious few options. Onyx Rivers of Mourning heads down the hill, watching her footing carefully and making her way toward the building.
  25. Well, these things happened occasionally. She'd just have to do some minor corrections later. Worst case, she gets stuck and has to use a bit of force, but... well. She picks up what remains of the chest, placing it in her back, and begins attempting to squeeze down the path.
