It still is, no way is Ame programming a second event for her bitter enemy.
You need the Rose Incense on a sunny or clear afternoon (I think). Budew will be running on the wall above the train tracks at the top of the Peridot Ward. Once you get back to the city though the event probably won't fire anymore. That's why I wanted to know where you are in the game.

Hmm...I'm not sure then. The gyarados quest doesn't really have much to do with Narcissa's gym. Playing through the save it seems you don't have access to the area underneath the Wispy Tower though.

Edit: Also, at least one of them picked up on how screwed they are against Julia's Electric Terrain...
Edit to the edit: Final thoughts, yeah...that was honestly about what I expected. That first Meteor sweep is where you really work out just what you're in for in this game. With lots, and lots of losses. Things aren't necessarily over, since there is at least one decent source of potion money they haven't found yet, but they haven't been investigated the objects to find the hidden vitamin that can be sold. So yeah, they might make it through Julia. But I don't know if they'll have enough Pokemon to fight through Victoria in Obsidia. Because there are no encounters between the two.

It used to be Clyde IIRC, but Ame replaces him with the speakers. Probably to keep people thinking about the character for her return to (and exit from) the main story.

If they're paying attention they'll know Florinia's going to be using Cradily. It appears int he cutscene with Sirius, as does Julia's Electrode.

When you interact with them it will ask you if you want to reflect light off the Darchlight mirror. Doing so will make the cavern change itself around. There are similiar rocks in the cavern's other form, but those will be black. You'll need to transform the cavern a couple times as the game goes on to get out.

The spot you're at isn't correct. That gate doesn't open until later. You need to backtrack a bit and use the mirror to change the caverns around (look for the glowing rocks embedded in the wall). There are Bladestar Grunts waiting where you want to go.

I mean...there's been stuff like that going all the way back to the beginning of Pokemon. In the anime you had religious symbols used (like Misty holding up a Crucifix at Gastly, the appearance of Santa Claus, etc.) that pretty clearly confirms that some form of Christianity was meant to exist in Pokemon. Which makes sense as Pokemon was originally meant to be our own world, but with this small area where you could find Pokemon.
I'd say just accept that its Once and Future King style references. They aren't actually saying "Jesus Christ", but rather some equivalent figure who none of us would know since we don't know the context and history.

So we're tossing out the easy way.
Back-up plan, does Bronzong have heatproof? If so, you should be able to teach it Trick Room, Charlotte's team is pretty fast so if you go for a slower strategy it will be harder for her to stomp you with reversed speed. If you have a linkstone and King's Rock you could evolve Poliwhirl into Drizzle Politoed, getting rain out immediately. Use it to knock the Typhlosion out ASAP. Let Politoed get KO'd by Volcarona when she switches it in, then go for a Stone Edge off Rhyperior or Swampert on it ASAP to get ride of the Giga Drain.
In addition, if you can keep the Trick Room up you can try using Jynx's Blizzard to terminate the Superheated field, which would hit her Pokemon fairly hard, and render it impossible (or at least difficult) to get the Burning field she is really dangerous with.
And as others have suggested grabbing a Donphan is also a solid Pokemon.

Watching it, and honestly I found HeatedMo's whining during the Cubone battle really off-putting.

I think they'll get through Julia, since honestly she's fairly easy to beat.
But there will be losses.
I'd guess Florinia too, but ditto.
And they will face their first white-outs during the Taka/Zel double battle, which will leave one or two with too few Pokemon to beat Corey.

If so, then the guy you're looking for is in the slums of Obsidia Ward. If you haven't beaten Julia yet you'll need to. The slums will be the main line you take to get through the Ward.
If you've already beaten the Tangrowth you'll need to go back before you had the battle with Scrafty. There'll be a youngster in one of the rooms who took it.
