  1. Calvera herself just steps forward, and lifts Lucine back to ground with her gravity well before dispersing it, leaving Lucine standing. She steps forward, and give Lucine a short hug. "It's okay... accidents happen. We know you didn't mean to... I'm sure the others will be able to get the kid back up here." Calvera herself wasn't one to normally try comforting others, mainly because she always felt like she made whatever situation worse. Especially after someone, granted she didn't remember who, going off on her after trying to comfort Satomi before. Yet, her she was, giving it another try. She felt oddly comfortable with it.
  2. "Oh phew! That was close... You okay!?" Calvera releases a sigh of relief, and smiles. There was one thing that she did without screwing up. And without fire. Well... besides her missing one. She blinked as she realized. Little late on the draw...
  3. Calvera held her own tongue, but focused. If this was to come to the child beginning to fall down the hole, she'd carefully prepare to put a Gravity Well by the edge, to prevent him from falling.
  4. Calvera had halted when the group did, staying silent. She wasn't much of a talker... especially when it came to delicate situations like the one they had found themselves upon.
  5. Calvera hops out of the bus, and looked around with a smile on her face. She takes a light spin on her heel to take in her surroundings. Her eyes widened at the view, and she let out a sigh of relief. "It's so pretty here! Look at all the trees!" It wasn't necessarily Calvera's place to notice the lack of birds chirping, until Arminius and the others spoke up about it. This prompted her to lessen the smile, and keep an eye out, subconsciously staying closer to Arminius. She looked around at the people she was with, and two things peeked her attention. The first, was the man in the giant suit of armor, and the second being the little girl holding a shotgun to her chest. She made a mental note to speak to either of them when the opportunity was there, but for now kept mostly silent, and shoved her thumbs in her jean pockets.
  6. Calvera stirs, and sits up, yawning as she stretches her arms out. She grimaces, and grabs her head. "What weird dreams..." she mutters, then looks around.
  7. Calvera walks out of the medbay, and plops down into a bus seat. She looks around to see who all is on the bus, then proceeds to lay down in her seat, curled up using her jacket as a pillow.
  8. "Yeah... learning is what life is about, right? Not that I would know, heh..." Calvera sighed, and stared at the ground blankly. "Yeah, besides the time I almost roasted Kusuke alive, and nearly deafening and blinding everyone in that laboratory... all in one go..."
  9. "Doesn't most of that use electricity in... well, I guess modern day would be the term?" Calvera shrugs. "But I get your point... I really do need to learn control.. It's hard going against nature, I guess."
  10. "You're just saying that.." Calvera blushed, and lowered her head. She chuckled a sole time. It was funny. She certainly didn't feel like a particularly skilled, or valuable member. It just wasn't words that she imagined herself to be described with. "Well, between Satomi's wall, and I don't know... Kusuke's time stuff... a little bit of fire is lackluster and... destructive."
  11. "I'm glad... I thought about that a lot while I was away... I wondered if things didn't go as well since I wasn't there." Calvera nervously looked around, before turning her attention to Arminius again, with a forced smile. "Then again, you all have always been the more capable people on the team, compared to me.."
  12. "There you go." Calvera elected to sit up, and brought her legs up into the seat to cross them, resting her hands on her knees. "So... I assume the siege went well..."
  13. It was the moment Arminius mentioned the bad burns, that Calvera sat up slowly, and inspected his face, holding his chin in her palm. She looked over any burns that were there with a solemn look, and then brushed over his cheek with her thumb affectionately. "If it's any consolation, you look just as handsome as when I left." She lowered her hand, laid a soft peck on Arminius' cheek, and then rested back on his shoulder, giving a moment of thinking before replying more. "Well, Armi... it happened. As much as it sucks, it did. Best you can do is try to make up for it, and then let it be in the past."
  14. "That's sweet, Armi... I'm not sure if I'd be able to say the same. Death is... scary. I don't want to have to go through that." Calvera smiled, despite the grave topic, and put a hand on Arminius' arm, as if to hold it exactly right there. She rubbed his arm affectionately, though entirely to comfort him. She could relate with hurting those around her, and fearing the consequences. A long, deep breath then a sharp exhale, then she spoke up quietly. "It's hard thing to hurt those around you... regardless of it being intentional or unintentional. It's rough for everyone involved... I don't hold anything against you. I would be a hypocrite if I did... however, I am happy Satomi is still around, and living. How're you holding up about it?"
  15. Calvera leaned her head onto Arminius' shoulder, sighing deeply, and nuzzling her head into a slightly more comfortable position. She paused for a minute or two, gathering her thoughts, and then began to explain. "I... well, it's hard to explain. I had returned to my body... my true body. And then... well, I don't know how long I was like that. It's hard to tell, when you're a giant ball of gas... but I was suddenly back with that doctor that explained to us why we were here. We had a conversation... and then they sent me here. It's all a bit of a blur... It's like... well... have you ever had one of those dreams that you're falling, and right before you hit the ground, you shoot awake? It felt like that. Like my life was milliseconds from ending and then... I was alive again. Except it was real..." She paused, to reflect back once again, thinking back to the time that had just past, gathering up what other details she could. "And... when I woke up... my first memory was us in the woods..." She face began to redden. "And when I shot awake, I yelled your name... like it was instinct." Calvera chuckled, and lightly shook her head, still leaning on Arminius' shoulder, and closing her eyes to relax.
  16. "Well... turns out the universe had other plans, apparently." She scratched the back of her hair, and shrugged with a short giggle. "But hey, I'm here now!" With a surprising burst of speed, Calvera scoots her way over to Arminius' seat, and plops down next to him, wrapping her arms around him with a slight squeeze. It lasts for a few lingering seconds, before she lets go, and fixes her hair once again. She smiles to him and then sits back. "I've missed you Armi! It's felt like forever.."
  17. It wasn't long after the group got situated on the bus, before a small blue ripple in the air appeared. It hovered there for a moment, blowing a slightly cold breeze into the bus, before out plopped a woman wearing combat boots, black jeans with a couple holes in the legs, finished off with a white t-shirt and leather jacket promptly falls onto the ground. Her rear impacts the floor of the bus, as she exclaims "Jeez... couldn't be a little gentler?" It was Calvera, her very light and long blonde braided, and left dangling behind her, her bangs down in her face before she fixes it up. As she looks around at the faces around her, she perks up. She stands, and dusts off her jeans. "Oh, hey guys... How's it going?"
  18. Calvera: The time that had passed, Calvera had spent in meditation, not attempting to necessarily improve upon anything, but in contemplation. She felt her inner heat beginning to dim. How odd. She continued breathing in the fresh air of the valley, spending her time by the river, almost in solitude. She spent the majority of the day there, only stopping her meditation for a mid-day snack, as well as a drink of water from the stream. Eventually, the sun had set upon the horizon, to which Calvera longingly stared into. She knew what was coming for her, it brought a smile to her face, but not one of joy. The release was going to be a relief, she supposed. Time away from the action. Sweet serenity of space, the gravitational effect she had on the things around her. It in and of itself was almost like meditation, the mindless spinning on her axis, lazily watching the planets in orbit around her. The images came to her head, in such brilliance and beauty. Something so simple, yet so elegant, that those around the universe find it beautiful and awe-inspiring. Before long, she found herself walking back to the village, the light in the sky dimming by the minute. She felt her bare feet touch the soil beneath her, softly curling the toes on every odd occasion, just to feel the grab of something. It was going to be a long while until I feel this again. Calvera was seeking out one person, to have share this night with: Arminius. She finally understood, now. She understood those deeply covered feelings, that she struggled to understand for what seemed so long now. She eventually found him, and dragged him off, wearing her familiar soft smile once more, dragging him to the spot in the clearing she had brought him to not terribly long ago. Except now, the moonlight lit the clearing, with the stars shimmering up above, almost in anticipation. Calvera took a deep breath, and looked to her friend. "There's a few reasons why I brought you back here," She sat down on the rock, crossing her legs, "but you'll have to hear me all the way through, before you can speak... I don't know quite the best way to explain this, so I will try my best." Another breath. "I am some creation of the Multiverse, powered by a star, as you know. That's where I get my name Calvera from. I know my real form is on the verge of being expended, on the verge of going supernova. I can feel the yearn and tear in my physical form now. I fear for what may happen if I stay here, and for my true form to meet it's final fate... I fear it may be replicated on a smaller scale here, killing you all. So, I feel I have to go... for the safety of you all, and ultimately the safety of the Multiverse if you were to fall. I feel I've done what I've come to do, for the most part, and if the Multiverse needs me again, I'm sure it will find a way to muster me once more." At this point Calvera had been looking down, the occasional tear dropping from her face, glinting in the moonlight as each fell, hitting the rock. She looked up to Arminius, and smiled almost a pained smile. Once more, she opened her mouth to speak. "The hardest part is, I've finally figured out how I feel, Armi... I love you. And leaving you... that hurt more than the pain I feel now from the strain of my true form. I..." Calvera stopped, and wiped the tears from her face, before grabbing the sides of Arminius' face, as she slowly leaned in. Her lips lightly met his, she held the kiss for as long as she felt necessary, not moving much at all, as it was more of innocent love, than passion. As she retracted, she planted her forehead onto his, before leaning into him and planting her head on his shoulder, allowing him to speak for a moment. After those peaceful moments had passed, Arminius would notice as her body became incredibly warm, and began glowing. "Goodbye, Armi..." Her voice sounded very pained, as her body then spontaneously seemed to turn to a bright glowing dust, slowly swept into the wind, and eventually up into the stars above, like a spread out swarm of fireflies easily visible from the village, at this point. Arminius would stare into the stars, and spot a suddenly very bright explosion in the far far distance. The supernova of a star, finally reaching the skies of this world. It almost gave the effect of a second moon shining in the sky, before slowly dimming down to darkness. To nothing. Left sitting on the rock next to Arminius, was the necklace that Calvera had always worn, a small silver sun.
  19. After seemingly being ignored, Calvera sighs. Perhaps Satomi was too wrapped up in her mind, she was busy after all, with the wall. She thought of who else was handing with making things, and one particular person came to mind, who she hadn't had much time to talk to besides one moment. She jogged off, eventually finding Leo. She gave a wave, but didn't speak up yet as she noticed Kusuke, which caused her to physically tense up, and make her steps more calibrated and cautious. The look of discomfort was evident on her face to anyone who cared to study it for a moment, eventually stopping a few feet away from the two, keeping her hands in her pockets.
  20. Once Calvera awoke, she yawned, and stretched out her back and arms. Today, she had work to do. She swept out of bed, dressing herself, and out the door of the tavern in a hurry. She jogged around the village looking for Satomi, and upon finding her, waved. "Hey! I had some defense ideas to run by you, if that's okay!"
  21. "Huh... Well isn't that interesting... Say, do you think we should try to take this thing in for research, or leave it to potentially shoot down some ADVENT aircraft?" Contagion doesn't exactly wait for an answer, and runs to Firebrand.
