  1. Happy Birthday 😄, i hope that you will have a great day 🙂🍰

  2. So... I've come to the conclusion that Empire is a bit... Ok. No. Scratch that. Empire is WAY too out of my league. Set mode only, can't use items in battle, a lot of the mons have had their typings changed and too many of the moves have effects. Not hating on the game but it's just not for me. So I'm sorry to say this but Empire is being cancelled.

Yeah it's pretty intense. I've played through three times and the first time I somehow made it to the fourth chapter but most of my team was level locked out of evolution or didn't have the right items to evolve so I decided to start over after losing a certain boss battle many times. The second time was cursed but this third time is going much better. I've read over the pbs files a lot and I've planned a team using the obtainable pokemon doc in the empire discord. I feel kind of cheap but it is not only challenging but extremely limiting in the intel and the pokemon it gives. Definitely not a game for everyone.

  3. Probably unpopular opinion: Normal difficulty Rejuvenation is more fun than Intense. It actually feels fair, fun and balanced.

While I do prefer Intense mode, partly because I like using debug for perfect ivs, the first two gym battles feel insanely challenging if you don't have the right pokemon.

I want demon souls and bloodborne on pc and/or switch, sold my ps3 before I got into the souls series

  5. Well, I think I’ve been a bit too hasty in my judgements yesterday. This afternoon, I remembered that I hated public transports with a burning passion. You have no idea! It’s already a hardship to be sitting next to talkative people who say things you’ve nothing to care about, but children are the worst, especially when they scream, sing or speak loudly. May God have mercy of my tortured ears and sanity 🙏

It's annoying when people talk on their phones really loud and you can hear half a conversation. I just pop in earbuds and try to ignore everyone.

  6. You know, it would really be great if enemies didn't have a 100% chance of always dealing the max amount of hits with multi-hit moves, it's pretty infuriating.

    1. Amphibi

For even more fun give it a King's Rock for a ~41% flinch chance on its 5 hit moves

  7. My 2 cents on the national dex debacle:

I don't really care. GF isn't lazy for this, they can't delay the game due to the rest of the franchise also needing to halt when that does.

As for the people saying they wanna keep their partners and say how gamefreak is ripping apart that bond. This is gonna be rich coming from me, but I heavily suggest talking to people more. Those bonds are a lot more satisfying.

Long story short: it's a small deal that blew up like usual. Give it a month and it'll mostly have passed.

At first I would've disagreed with you, their motto is "Gotta Catch Them All" so you'd think they'd have all the Pokemon in one game but before you jump on the bandwagon ask yourself this, how many Pokemon could they possibly support in one game? They can't just use sprites anymore because they've committed to their 3d models with animations. Iirc each Pokemon has 3 different attack animations, they have idle animations, entrance and exit animations, animations for getting damaged, and now each Pokemon will have animations for dynamaxing. So how many Pokemon could they possibly fit in one game? 1000? 1500? Because they are quickly approaching 1000, hell, they might even reach it this generation. Probably not, they have 809 currently so I doubt they are making 181 new Pokemon.

I think the best workaround would be making the Pokemon they leave out brought back as dlc. If they can't do that then try to alternate the ones left out so that no Pokemon if left out for more than 1 game in a row. Not even considering bonds or anything like that I couldn't imagine not being able to use Greninja (insanely popular, not likely to be cut but still, it would suck). It might get to the point where when a new Pokemon game releases people will just wait and see which Pokemon are supported.

  8. I should use a Mawile more often ingame, it's design is cool enough to warrant that

    1. Amphibi

      Amphibi

I really like using it but it can be a bit underwhelming at times. It's either frail but hits hard with sheer force or can kinda take physical moves with intimidate while doing mediocre damage.

  9. Most often in comunities, there's that one really vocal minority that clings to the past of said franchise/series, often too much. Examples of such are the Genwunners from Pokémon, the Veteran Elitists (not just the Veteran's) from Fire Emblem, *Insert Summoning Mechanic Here*  killed the game from Yugioh, and there are so many more. And honestly, they cling to that way too much. Things evolve and change to stay relevant not to the "Hardcore true fans that played the old games 100 times" (True Fans in general is just bullshit IMO), but to the Lowest Common Denominator. Why, because they do still need to make money. Changing things up from your past is in games sometimes seen as a sin that should never be practiced, but that's far from true. Can you imagin Pokémon still being as Broken now as it was in gen 1? Or the Map Design of Fire Emblem still being in the Genealogy era (in a sense of many huge maps that makes everyone not on a horse almost useless), or even Yugioh with just some Vanilla Beaters and the occasional effect or fusion monster? Is change always good? no, sometimes things are changed for the worse. But sometimes that allows for more good in the future. Example: Casual Mode. Some people loath it and say it should be bannished and that everyone getting into the series with it is not a "true fan" (there that Bullshit is again), but on the other hand Casual mode allows more players to enjoy the games due to there being less presure of Perma-death, and it's optional.

So what was this rant about? Just me tossing my oppinion about the worse case of nostalgia blindness.  Anyway, Rant done. if you disagree with me and have any hate mail, please send them to Wolfoxdoesntgiveaflyingfuck@Gmail.com

I just dislike the concept behind casual mode. It'd be like removing the gaps you have to jump across in mario rather than easing the player into it by getting them to jump smaller gaps first. Forgot 3d models started with tellius. I still think pair up is very good but they did a good job of toning it down. I go for my favourites too but its annoying how I could have a more effective unit if I choose a certain unit. Didn't think fe6 had that many seize chapters until I looked back at it. The only different objective I remember in Shadow Dragon is the run the hell away from Gharnef chapter (technically still a seize but it at least was different). The ds games were both remakes of games that iirc didn't have a magic triangle or anything like that. The personality thing is subjective, some of them are fun but I feel like some of their personalities are tacked on. My main point here wasn't to rag on Awakening (as much as I did), it was to provide an alternate view. It's saddening when a company abandons a game/mechanic that have stood the test of time in hope for a new audience. Especially when the new mechanics are shallow and cheapen the experience. I'm pretty sure that's what most hardcore fans fear, not just change.

While I will agree that elitists are annoying to deal with I understand why they are the way they are. Change can sometimes be good, but if you change a game too much you can alienate its long term fanbase. Take Fire Emblem Awakening for example. It saved the series but its multitude of changes that some veterans really disliked such as:

      - How overpowered the pair up system is

      - Simplified magic system (no matchup system like the gba or tellius games)

      - The switch from sprites to 3d models (imo not the worst thing ever but I can understand why some people might not like this change)

      - How instead of leveling up multiple characters and making playing strategically you can just reclass a few times and get all the op skills on one unit

      - How a lot of characters are defined by a weird personality quirk instead of being a well rounded person.

      - Hardly any objective besides seize. There used to be different objectives like escape, defend/survive, and defeat the boss

      - How min maxy the child system is

I still enjoyed Awakening but I think the gba games are the best in the series. What if Pokemon were to change its battle system to the one used in Pokemon Go? It would kill the depth of future Pokemon games but it would be easier for first time players to get into. My opinion on Casual Mode is that it sort of defeats the purpose of Fire Emblem and I wouldn't mind seeing it go if it was replaced by an easier difficulty option. Permadeath is one of the most defining mechanics of Fire Emblem and I think allowing people to skip out on it is almost a disservice to them.

  11. So, I've been watching an LP of Binding Blade lately, and I can notice a few things: it could make for a good remake. Here are a few things I would add to said remake if it were to happen:

Casual Mode: Let's get the big one out of the way first. ever since Heroes of Light and Shadow (yeah, not Awakening) it's been quite a staple to the series and it would most likely help ease players into the game more.

Adding Blazing Sword to it in the same game: We're pulling a Holy Wars for this one. The game, if handled by me, would start with the story of Blazing Sword, then after that hit up Roy's Story. There are certain things I'll get to in a bit that have to do with this, too.

    Skills: Skills are awsome.

    A buffed Lyn.

    Pair Up Over Rescue.

S-Rank supports: Here's another one some people will probably want to mount my head on a pike for, but hear me out. This S-ranking will impact the game in a similar way Geanioligy had it. The Growths and Stats of anyone from FE 6 Won;t be changed, but they will just get a skill from their Mother/Father that they couldn't get otherwise. That's all it would do. So, for Example Lyn can Astra, but Roy can't. Have Lyn Marry Eliwood, Roy can now learn Astra.

Map altering: just to make them more friendly to non mounted units.

Having Lyn (or her descendant) be in the story of FE 6.

And finaly, Roy's Promotion. Just, make it sooner.

I agree with everything stated except two things. Skills and pair up.

If there's gonna be skills they should feel unique and not as widespread as awakening and fates. Maybe something like sacred stones, path of radience or radiant dawn (although I haven't fully played through the latter two their skill system looks pretty solid). My gripe with the new skill system is how you have skills every 10 or so levels so they end up being kinda bland skills like luck + 5. The other problem I have with it is how you can make a super unit like a swordmaster with lethality, aegis, lancebreaker or whatever's good on them. Skills, in my opinion should be balanced around classes and shouldn't be transferable.

Pair up is something I dislike about the new fire emblems because it encourages you to ship units together and use them in squads of two. With pair up half of the units are just glorified stat boosters. Rescue is a system I like much more because it lets you make more aggressive plays like attacking a boss with a unit that can be killed in two rounds and picking them up after a round.

Fire emblem 6 + 7 with nice, new graphics, branching promotions, more supports and fire emblem 6 axes having a 10% hit rate buff like they did in 7 would be nice.

  12. Happy Birthday 😄, i hope that you will have a great day 🙂🍰

  13. How did today go: pretty good. but I'm still gonna rant on how I feel about valentines day.

I hate it. Absolutely hate it. I have multiple reasons to do so.

First things first: It's a day that reminds me that I don't have anyone to share it with, so there's that. Secondly, I don't even see the point of it. Why the fuck do people who are happy in a relationship need a god damn day to celebrate their happiness and be happier? Why not just be happy for the other so many days in the year? Do we really need a day that reminds those happy that they are happy and reminds the ones who aren;t in a relationship of the happiness they should feel for the other people while just wanting to not leave the bed for the day?

Rant over. Guess I'm a bad person for wanting to tell people who are being lovey dovey with eachother on valentines to get a room. But I'haven;t been depressed or overly negative in at least 6 months, I deserve a rant bloody hell

    1. Amphibi

My rant looks kind of petty looking back at it. My previous message wasn't directed at anyone in particular, just at the idea that everyone should get married, an idea a lot of people hold and push on me. The second part was directed at couples who are super showy in public which relates to what the op was saying. I don't see how I contradicted myself but I'm sorry for derailing this status update.

I dislike the holiday and not just because I'm a person who easily gets jealous. People seem to look down on single people as a whole and stigmatize them. "Oh, you're 35 and haven't settled down with anyone yet?" is the kind of thing you hear people say, maybe not directly but they definitely imply it. What if there's nobody special to me?

That and it's that day where couples show off in front of everyone how much they love eachother. It gives me the "look at us, don't you wish you had somebody to love you single piece of shit" kind of vibe.

Sorry if I offended anyone here. I don't hate couples, I just disagree with certain people's views on relationships and how certain couples seem to show off their relationship.

I voted for Tyrunt because spamming Head Smash is fun, especially when you can't die from it. I'm not sure if you plan on switching team members but if not the only two fossil pokemon that wouldn't overlap typing with the rest of your party would be Cranidos and Lileep.

  19. Can someone fill me in as to why Amaria's Vaporeon outsped my Hasty, ~200 ev, 24 iv Greninja (of the same level)?

Vaporeon's highest achievable speed at level 87 isn't even close to what Gren's is now, I'm confused af lmao

    1. Amphibi

      Amphibi

The field halves any pokemon's speed that isn't water type. Did your Greninja possibly use a non water type move before Vaporeon was sent out?
