  1. "None taken whatsoever, I have no knowledge of what you are doing." Mar Shrugs, turning the grindwheel idly and checking it for flaw or imperfection.
  2. He might notice the grind wheel spraying purple slime everywhere and actually being on fire. The Spear might glow as it becomes even more of an affront to any decent being. It is Sharper, but is also weeping a purple slime from it's edges, and the gold is tainted as well, stained a glowing purple. Eventually, the Flame fades from the wheel, and the spear stops weeping. It is thoroughly tainted though, and clearly, even the gold near it's blade has been tarnished with unholy energy. "Such is magic. It seems your spear has become worse and better."
  3. "Then I have no choice. I'll use my old sword and assemble a proper grindwheel." Mar Does so, Hefting up the stone and plugging it's central hole with the handle that used to be his sword, he mounts it on a Hard Rock Construct and attaches a footpedal to it, which can be hooked up to the ship later. He spawns Silicone Oil with magic and lubricates all of the moving parts so that it runs smoothly. He tests it out, creating and discarding a Stone Sword, tossing it into the garbage. "There, this magical device should enhance bladed weapons from blunt to ground with ease. Though it will confer no benefit to blades which are already Sharp." "It is done, Have at it, and I can teach you how to utilize it if you do not know yourself."
  4. Mar creates a mortar and pestle, then grinds up a single small hellfire shard into coarse shards. when this works, he uses necro concrete and orcish obsidian shards to make a grindwheel from the hellfire grit. "I'll attach it to a mechanism later, but for now, you should be able to sharpen things on it." Mar provides silicone oil to anyone wishing to sharpen things on the unfinished grind wheel's rough and magical surface. "Do you all know a professional method of grinding by hand? if you just scrape rocks on it, it will never get sharp." "I only know the Orcish Method admittedly, which is strong and few strokes, complimenting speed and use of inner strength."
  5. "Indeed, dodging that many bullets is nigh impossible, as our elders have recorded, but you don't need to dodge with a Carven, It is simply a giant shield that redirects the bullets with minimal loss in energy and an increase in density and a smaller profile. The enemy bullets come back to them stronger than before, and explosive armaments are destroyed by danger seeking arrow bundles, by tipping arrows with ebonstone, they seek out things which are dangerous, unless they too are ebonstone." "I am not sure how you can help, but it would be appreciated, certainly." Mar says, deferring.
  6. "Monofilament? What is that?" "Well, anyway, I believe we can help Leon, and others who use blades, are you knowledgeable about what a grind-wheel is?" "Lastly, Dodging bullets is hard, blocking them is much easier, especially with an Orcish Weapon. My kind have a special tool we use in war against gun users, It is called a Carven, think of it like a cheese grater crossed with a bowl and shield. Bullets striking it are split into pieces, curved around, and launched back with smaller profiles, higher density, and with the right orc wielding it, more force." "It is essentially a dinnerbowl full of knives, which slice bullets as they impact it, and result in stronger bullets being returned at our leisure." Mar catches himself, he had a point he wanted to make. "I suggest we combine the better qualities of Orcish Obsidian, Hellfire, and Necrotic Concrete into a Grindwheel, infusing Death and Fire into the Edge of a weapon with magic as it wears it away."
  7. Mar Picks up a rock, and cracks off a flake of it. "You mean like this?" He shears through a piece of metal with the flake of stone like the paper test, the one where someone glides a blade through paper effortlessly and cleanly to demonstrate it's sharpness. "Whenever my kind break something, it becomes stronger, and I am the Elder Hunter of my Tribe, so I can create Breaks with high precision in any entity, a Terrifying combination. I stand by my claim that the Orcish Arts surpass human science in material durability, but that is neither here nor there." "As for strong sharpening tools... Maybe I could create some sort of rasp." "Argent, how precice can you manipulate your hellfire? Could you give me a demonstration?" Mar asks, turning to the young boy.
  8. "Wait, Smoke?!" The Machine Rumbles around, before toppling over, a hatch opening in the back as an alien looking fellow leaps out. He scrambles away before the entire thing explodes, scattering teeny tiny metal fragments all over the ground. "My Guns!" The Odd individual kneels, weeping at the scorch mark that used to be a perfectly good illegal gun vendor. One would notice his outfit, a strange All Black Outfit with gold trim, a Cowboy hat atop it all, and a Lantern on a Stick Tied to his back, glowing a spooky Purple.
  9. "I could offer replacements until such time that you find someone able to fix your blade much more easily, I think. I still have Shards of Hellfire and Ingots of Metal." "Ahh, the best stories go to the youths, I'll be happy so long as I have assisted."
  10. The Vending Machine has started smoking, The Hologram pays no mind to this, or perhaps it does not notice.
  11. "I am old you boob. I just happen to be spry in my old age. Apparently, most races live far longer than my own, where my own kind become adults around 11 years of age, and die around 15." Mar comments. He could have sworn he explained this before. Mar turns to Leon. "I could try knapping it, which is to say, flaking off shards of it so that it has a razor sharp edge, this loses material though, and holds some risk, so It is up to you."
  12. Mar nods at the Little Sneak. For Entertainment and training, Mar creates a hard Mana double of himself and a Hard Stone Handle for the Little Sneak, Studding a Hard Mana Blade with 3 Hellfire Shards, his double has a Life Mana sword, so it does not hurt. Mar directs the Sneak to fight his miniature double, training his mana control and the Sneak's own skills as they engage in a low intensity duel. Intended Result Visual
  13. Mar turns the shard over in his hands. "I believe I could help. Could you create a book on Metal Failure conditions, for a short skim?" When given the book, Mar uses his Adamantine Ore Shard to crack the Accumulator Shard into a Brilliant Cut Diamond, to fix it's flaws in construction. He then Infuses it with Deep Blue Spinel Mana. People Involved Intended Result ---- Mar gives Little Sneak a gentle tug, and with reluctance, it exits this host. Mar Gives it Heartless Metal Armor Mana, and, showing it a piece of Hard Rock for comparison, has it apply the mana as it pleases to the Silicon Doll. It has had a small bit of practice, so enhancing it's doll with Hard Stone should let it armor and personalize this doll for future use. Intended Result
  14. "What does the shard do, If anything? I'm afraid I don't know what do do with it unless I am aware of the Material Properties, otherwise we end up with an Eldrich Cult-like Spear..." Mar comments.
  15. "Indeed I will." Mar gives it a gentle tug, and with reluctance, it exits this host. Mar Gives it Heartless Metal Armor Mana, and, showing it a piece of Hard Rock for comparison, has it apply the mana as it pleases to the Silicon Doll. "Try again." It has had a small bit of practice, so enhancing it's doll with Hard Stone should let it armor and personalize this doll for future use.
  16. Mar Cracks the Joints of it, removing it from the plate and giving it points of movement at Argents Behest. He uses Double ball Joints so it has a richer range. "Intriguing. Now Stand then."
  17. "Interesting. Be thankful I suppose, for such extremely long lives." Mar still hears the voices, but they have settled into a background argument. It seems they don't want him hearing this, it might undermine their authority... Mar Creates a Blob of Silicon Mana, and has the Possessor Possess it. He then points to a plate of silicon on the floor. "Try." he says. Maybe it knows how to make something he does not. "I want to try a little experiment with my Little Sneak, Let's see if it has any artistic integrity." Mar Chuckles.
  18. "Around 13 or so. I am 23 to be precisely, one of the eldest and rarest of the Hunters."
  19. "Yes, I suppose, Our Maturity occurs around 10 or 11 years of age, I myself am over 20, an elder of my tribe."
  20. "Well, my youngest memory is when I was 2, I had found a True Boar and rode it around the mountain, it was very displeased with this, and dragged me at least a mile underground! My mother, Scar, was furious, and had me cleaning pots for a whole year after that... Eventually, we hunted it down and ate very well that month, I still remember getting to eat the True Boar Ribs, the meat was very chewy, but fell right off the bone. Around that same time is when I began my training for the Stonerist arts, since all of our tribe learned them in some fashion or another." "Master Blemish was my teacher's name... I still... remember him fondly, he was about my own age, The hardest thing for an orc to learn is precision, it is why we were gifted to not require it in our lives, but Master Blemish pounded the value of precision into me from the first minute I entered his tutelage, Quite literally in fact, when correcting me, he only struck the very base of my left calf with his little reed cane, without fail, in precisely the same spot. It was only a light strike, but in the exact same spot each time I made a mistake, it became worse, and then better as I became Stronger and more skilled, I remember the first time I split a bridge in half without either end falling to the abyss, It must have been the proudest day of my life, and Master Blemish Agreed, beaming himself." Mar shows the spot on his calf, it is hard, like an insect carapace. "He helped teach me that while you can claim meaning to any action, to make an action that your meaning is attributed to is the most difficult and precious thing you can do. To not simply have the best of intentions, but the best of results as well. To know when to apologize for being wrong, and be prepared to do so, even while being confident that you are not."
  21. "Tell me a story, something cheery. I'll tell you one in return." Mar clears his throat. "This isn't one of my Tribe's Tales, but rather, it is supposedly considered to be the most common tale in my world, some sort of core message that scholars have found to ring true." "A few Moments ago, at the beginning of time, And a step to the left, where it all began. There once was a Hero, and a Villain. The Hero and the Villain engaged in a contest. The Hero was Victorious. Destiny, having seen the Contest, was entertained by the event. Destiny ordained, that now and forever, the story be repeated forevermore. And now Actors on the stage act out The Play, of the Hero, and the Villain." "It's an odd story, but everyone loves it. It's very simple, and easy to remember." The voices are trying to be heard over one another, it sounds argumentative.
  22. Theme of Brew Pleasure courses through his veins like lightning, cloying and frittering, jumping forward a bit at a time, he feels his muscles thrumming, and his headache clearing, the wound already closing up. "A combination... of several... scavenged materials..." Serve your Master, the Lord of the twilight, Lord Zant... Give your heart to Darkness, as all hearts begin and end... Obtain the Black Materia, end this world, free me... Mar sits down, his head feels foggy. He feels the power flowing through him. You will obey me. I will be served by all things. All worlds begin in darkness, and so too all end. I will destroy, destroy everything. He feels... He feels the power flowing through him. He feels the urge to give in He feels hopeless in opposition. ...Strange "I need to lay down, keep talking, if you would, Argent The Medicine is doing it's job, as you can tell from my healed forehead." Mar lays down. Strange whooshing noises almost, or whispers. They drown each other out.
  23. Mar strides over to the Boiling Pot of Pure Brew and takes a stone glassfull to his lips, Drinking deeply of it. "Hear Hear!" He says. "Swish it around, *Smack* Cover all 9000 Taste Buds... *Smack*" "Aerate it *Smack* Warm it up *Smack* Driving up *Smack* That Top note! *Smack* Cream *Smack* Pure Vanilla *Smacking* that Sweetness *C H E W* Mmmmm Mmm! That's a ten." Mar Comments, finishing the taste test. He Adds Several bolts of energy into the brew, making it churn uncomfortably, Gold Mana to negate the Twilit Mana, Life Mana to remove Residual Death Mana, Apple Mana from Leon to compliment the Mushroom mana. He then feels the effects of the cup of Unfinished Brew Hit him all at once.
  24. Mar rises from his meditation. "I would be waxing romantic over the desire to see home, but I know my tribe, they will trust me as they always have. It is simply our nature, If I have left, they will expect my return or my death." "Such is our way. It does pain me to think that they might one day believe I have left to hide my death from my loved ones, but It is of no consequence. They are strong, and I have strength yet." But the opportunity of a lifetime is here, to aid in the protection of everything, and everyone. Mar just can't turn down an honor like that. "Whatever we were before, an amount of every single aspect of all things' wellfare have been put in our hands. That makes us Heroes, unless we betray this noble goal here and now." "None here can claim to have sins greater than the ones we seek to punish, the crime of attempted and working True Omnicide."
  25. "Naturally." Mar Creates and carves a Goldenrock Scabbard, the sword slides into it, and it glows faintly.
