Sadly, my mother tongue, Vietnamese is a no-no here as Pokémon had always remained unpopular in Vietnam.

I'm planning to make Polish version of Reborn, when Pokemon had its popularity peak at the turn of 90s/00s, and then it dropped to be (at best) moderately popular until now. Tough I heard rumours Nintendo plans to make a bigger come back on a local market, I don't care if there is maybe ten other Polish speaking Reborn players here or hundreds. And who knows, maybe your translation will help to make it more popular.

To be honest, I'd stick to official translation trends and lines where it applies, and go freestyle where it feels like enhancing the atmosphere - in my native I observe trends are changing, publishers tend to fully localize games, including names, but I don't think it's a good idea (it looks awful imo, when I compare 2003 Warcraft 3 localization to more recent Hearthstone's), and thus I'd stay with Shelly, Noel, Charlotte, but I see some interesting possibilities with Shade, Florinia or Titania. Also, I rather wouldn't touch mons' names, due to amount of work and research that would be needed to come up with something that sounds cool, has a reference to original name and mon's backstory, etc. etc.

  2. Ametrine must be gorgeous and since I like being a bit closer to heaven, in the mountains, it's a good candidate. Isolation and constant snow might be exhausting to me tough. Summer house somewhere deep in Iolia Valley, that's for sure. And a spacious apartment in one of the tall buildings in Lapis or Beryl, with a view to the shore. What, why I couldn't be a rich bounty or treasure hunter, diving for the goldies in the lake, searching the peaks and the forests for a reward?

i still don't intend to add gen 8. it'd take something really, really cute to convince me-- and that's also if they don't dick it up with too many unique/changed mechanics. as much as i want the game to be finished and fully updated, i have to draw a line for practicality somewhere.

Well, after Alola and Lets go!, it seems they are not too inventive with this official game release, so we are one A-Ninetales away from gen8 introduction!

Ofc kidding, I agree with the above, it would be an overkill and unnecessary. The time to finish this project is near and it is a good time to finish, cause from now it could, in my observation, only go downhill. How long it's been?

  4. To be honest, a full list of sidequests, including where to find special event mons and how to trigger them, would be useful for after the final release. I simply dont remember half of them, since on average I did playthrough once per two years, also some of them are dug deep into the forums, going through the search function is sometimes a hell to find this or that. Plus, I'm kinda old-fashioned and definitely prefer a list maybe with some tips than a youtube video - I want to do and see it for myself, even if I know the result.

I recall there is a list of obtainables from one badge to another, but that's all.

Also not too sure about Hardy's difficulty, but then again, my team had a lot on him and it's the rock type, during late game. Not much you can do for that.

IIRC, it was AI that failed to comply with trick room rock team strategy, so Ame tried to make it extra fast, but, as you said, not much to be done here.

I was thinking the same. too. I suppose, after we defeat Anna, Lin will interrupt in order to take Anna's Amethyst Pendant.. But Elite Four are mostly faced in Victory Road, which is on the highest level of Charous Mountain near Route 4. And Lin, already take the mysterious gear from Agate City deeps. So, I guess we're going to face Lin behind the doors of under Grand Starcase, The Citae Arc-d'Astrae (where we fought Arceus), in order to stop her of taking The Meteor.

Yeah, well, do you guys remember the anagram from within the void? I T  W A S  A N N A. Wonder what's the connection between them, and the fact that Anna's field can transform into New World field got me thinking.

  7. The only thing I hope to NOT see, is another repetetive team. Like, no more Garchomps, Garevoirs, Gallades and quite a few overused others. While the game forces us to utilize underused mons and various teams since the very beggining, the opponets tend to use cliche, strong teams over and over again.

  8. Definitely Aventurine Woods is the worst. There is just too many little things that make you waste time, go in circles, wait to refresh... maybe without the need to wait for the bugs to appear after we spread honey would make it better - instead of going in circles, the screen goes dark with something like ''Now let's wait...'' dialogue box and then heracross/pinsir fight is next to us.

Ah, and a little tweak to Mirage Tower due to contrast/brightness issues would do a lot of good work, I didn't know what to do when I first entered there. The rest is more (Subseven Sanctum escape, I liked it, something unusual) or less (Iolia Valley) cool.

Copycat's Doduo could talk in RBY, the rocket Murkrow could at the very least imitate human speech in GSC, and a Zoroark in B2 & W2 could talk while disguised as a human. Talking Pokemon aren't really anything new in Pokemon, its just unusual.

I'm not sure what hit me more, the fact that you remember all of these, or the fact that I can recall every of these moments, circumstances, etc.

I had the same problem with Lin but Tacos had a really good explanation that I'll quote here,

Looks familiar, doesn't it?  Lin doesn't create something out of nothing if you ask me.  Agate City is essentially built atop what was once Agate Village in Orre, where the Relic Stone used to preside, which is the object Lin needed to power the ArcPulse.  If anything, there was some time distortion on Lin's behalf and she reverted time to when the Relic Stone was still there.

Alright, thx for the explanation, this means she didn't pull it completely out of her a*s, but I'm still not convinced if I like where it is going - this doesn't make her any less mixed Dialgia-Palkia-Giratina-Celebi-Arceus omnipotent smells-like-Mary-Sue character, thus making her this:

Unfortunately it really doesn't do much for Lin as a character, who I find incredibly boring compared to practically every other Meteor character.

I really do hope the explanation of her powers and the backstory will kick me out of my shoes.

I actually quite liked the battle for Agate, since it was basically meant to build up to an expected fight with Lin. You stroll in, toss aside every Meteor Mook in your way. Then only halfway into the city, you fight Solaris, the dude you've basically been aiming to surpass since Pyrous, and at this point not even he can stop you. Given that you fight him right in the middle of the city and that Lin walks off right before this, you start thinking that he was just the mini boss, meant to build to a fight with Lin.

I, too, liked it, it was cool - by now we are widely recognized in Reborn, so we go through Meteors like Vader goes through rebels at the ending of SW Stories: Rogue 1, so it would be nice to finally see the full effects of us being the wrecking ball, tough I understand the limits of RPG Maker.

  11. Spoiler

I'm quite satisfied with this episode, maybe the battle for Agate and the chase in there could be a little bit more intense and epic/dramatic (you know, an ambush or so, some bridge exploding, one or two walls torn down, this kind of michaelbay-ish stuff).

I'm concerned only about the direction of Lin's development, like, she turns out to be some kind of a god? Pulling ''dead'' characters and non-existent artifacts (this battery under the water, wtf was that?) out of her ass. Like, rly, if she can make the stuff she wants appear like that, she could just drag us wherever she wants and use us for whatever reason she needs us.
I'd like it much more if she was ''only'' extremely strong and skilled trainer, not doing some Thanos-like shit with snapping her fingers, bang, people and mons appear out of the blue. The only explanation I see for now is, she has control over Arceus or Arceus works with her in order to free him (young Arceus - baby Lin playing togheter?).

The Hiker sidequest is started in Agate City. The Aggron sidequest is started in Grand Hall, talk to one of the scientists in the big room (where Adrienn and Victoria are) downstairs. This one also rewards you with Firium-Z if I remember correctly.

Could you tel me where is the railway entrace in the Byxbysion the scientist mentions?

  13. Guys, I cannot command Glaceon/Espeon to wait in the lower section of this hall (under the molten raw glass stream) - is this bug or on purpose, to make it harder? I guess the latter, but wanna be sure. Trying to reach this:

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured out how to make them stay where I want, but still, isn't it a bug that I cannot command them to wait there, instead of swapping between them?

I can't wait to replay the game after episode 19! Hopefully there is some method to transfer pokemon between save files. Otherwise we'll just have to trade with reliable people to get our pokemon or something. But finally seeing the story in it's full light and maybe even chosing different paths would be amazing to experience in full. Plus with all pokemon added it's going to be pretty cool to replay.

There is a shared PC box mod - you can transfer mons between save files using the shared box. I believe links are outdated for now, but upon every episode's release modders update them for current version.

Also, you can try opening two game instances at once to trade with your other save - it requires some ju-jitsu and juggling with save files in between opening instances, there is a stability issue (one bad click, boom, game freezes for good), but it is doable.
