I think the rule is not really ironclad and absolute, as some people will break into chatspeak occasionally and not get reprimanded. It just becomes an issue for some people when it's done repeatedly, and makes no sense in some situations.

Just my two cents

Only thing that I noticed about that is that abbreviating phrases is okay, so you can use Tbh, btw and stuff.

I personally don't mind other people using it though I'd rather read proper england as opposed to unnecessarily shortened words.
