    I think you misunderstand how the Destiny Knot works: it ensures 5 IVs are passed on from either parent. So, which parent is holding the Destiny Knot doesn't matter, the outcome's the same. The Power items on the other hand, do pass on one specific stat from the Pokémon that's holding it.

     

    In your case though, I don't think it makes a difference which mon is holding a Power Item and which is holding the Destiny Knot. It does matter, however, when you are breeding with a 6IV and a 5IV, because then you have to give the 5IV the Destiny Knot and the 6IV the Power item of the stat the 5IV one is missing (which is probably the scenario @Candy was thinking of).

    Pokemon Reborn translation project

    As a student of Translation Studies, I always love to see initiatives like these pop up. Sadly, my mother tongue is Dutch and I'd say there is no point in translating a Pokémon game into Dutch, since basically every native Dutch Pokémon aficionado speaks English as well.

     

    I did like to notify everyone that for Spanish people are already working on a translation. If I'm not mistaken @Fernan100tifiko and @Gastronely are involved, so you could direct any questions to them. There's also a group called "Reborn Español" which is related to the translation project, even though it doesn't seem to be used very often.

     

    Edit: if people do decide to set up a translation project for Dutch though, I would love to contribute.

    I haven't done any 'runs' yet, so I'm not sure whether this would be doable and stuff, but what about a "Pokémon Lottery Run"? The idea is that you would get access to a new evolution line with every new area. Using a Pokémon randomizer on the internet, you generate a random Pokémon right after you enter a new area; the species you get and the rest of its evolution line are now unlocked and can be used from now on. This way you unlock more and more Pokémon as you progress in the game, and as the battles become tougher.

     

    The specifics can vary depending on how hard you want the run to be:

    - In order to get started, you want to have a number of rolls on the randomizer at the very beginning of the run. (I'd say somewhere between 5 and 30 rolls depending on what you choose to do with the other specifics below and on how hard you want to make it for yourself).

    - You could allow yourself to trade with online players (so that you have access to rare unlocked Pokémon at any point in the game) or you could not, in which case I recommend increasing the number of rolls you get at the beginning of the run (because otherwise you might not even be able to get going properly).

    - If you don't draw any starter at the beginning, it's up to you whether you allow yourself to use a starter. If you do draw one or more starters, you have to choose between those you got.

    - Every time you draw a Pokémon you had already unlocked at another location, you could either allow yourself to try again or you could decide not to.

     

    So, let me know what you guys think of the idea!

    Nope. Although I can't rule out the possibility of there being ways to hack it into your game or using mods or whatever, I don't know about any of this stuff, so I'm afraid I can't help you with it.

    There is no way to get a second starter before the first gym in a 'legitimate' way, given that there is no online trading system for Rejuvenation. Throughout the game, you will come across a number of starters, but if I'm not mistaken Torchic isn't one of them yet. Popplio is available late game.
