I'd have advice, but I always had Volcarona, which is 1/18 chance of being the mystery egg. I guess you can take a page out of the proverbial book and use 'mons that get Quiver Dance or Dragon Dance, though. Togekiss is, quite sadly, excellent setup fodder. Just keep an eye out for the Talonflame, and you'll do fine. Rhydon can easily wreak stuff, if it has a good rock move, too. Mist, Misty Terrain, Grassy Terrain, Electric Terrain, Rain Dance + Sunny Day, or any two pledges combined will produce a new field for five turns.

Miiiiiiiiiiiiiiight do this on Reborn instead, since I have not touched Rejuv all that much, and I personally am not a fan of Magmortar or Rhyperior.

Uhhh... Pretty sure it's Disney that goes to court when their copyrights are about to expire to get the time limit universally extended. Don't fire shots at Nintendo for "bullying innovation out of others" when the only way they actively makes their copyright last longer is, well... making stuff that falls under the copyright, since afaik there isn't even a renewal system anymore. I share the sympathies, though, since copyrights currently last for... uh... 95 years after publication, so... 2091 for Pokemon, assuming nothing changes in the next seven years.

Played Blazing Sword, Sacred Stones, Path of Radiance, Radiant Haar, Awakening, and Conquest/Birthrights/Revelations. Sacred Stones and Radiant Haar were the weakest ones in my mind due to difficulty issues, although glitching Stones around definitely has its moments. Blazing Sword's gotten the most playthroughs by far, if only from having it the longest and not really caring for Stones when I was younger. Then HHM became too easy ;-; (HHM Cog of Destiny, though) Shameless user of Matthew and Balancewood, who both reliably turn out marvelously. Shame promoting either of them in HHM drops your funds rating >.> Also an advocate of not promoting Hector in EHM. I mean, you want that funds rating, and he still easily OHKOs Light-Linus. Don't see a need to make him better. Awakening got the most grinding, trying to beat each DLC in as few turns as possible (still grinding for Apotheosis and a few others). And lastly, Fates got... almost nothing. But the difficulty creep in Conq-L is really something that should be experience by every brave FE player. Conquest for gameplay or difficulty, Birthrights for story(?), Revelations for content.
