  1. On Opal Bridge near the Grand Hall there's a pretty obvious event with 2-3 trainers surrounding a Pokemon. I'm guessing this event is where you got Panpour, as he's one of the two Pokemon you can find from there. The other one is very valuable at this stage of the game, Pachirisu. If you didn't get him from the Bridge, he's in one of the homes in the Peridot Ward (sadly I don't recall which one, but you'll want to explore all of them anyway). Save just before you get him and reset your game until you get a Pachirisu with Volt Absorb; this makes him totally immune to Electric type attacks, something you otherwise won't see for a while due to a scarcity of ground types. He also learns the move Nuzzle, a low-damage attack that paralyzes the enemy, which will greatly help out with some fights. He doesn't stay very good for too long, because he doesn't have a lot of great moves or stats, but by the time he starts to slow down you'll have access to a wider variety of Pokemon for your team.
  2. I prefer Sturdy, so you can always be certain to get a Thunder Wave off in a pinch.
  3. Hi everyone, I've taken a step back to train up my team to face Sharon & Eli on the top of Valor mountain and I wanted to get some opinions on the team itself. Overall I'm pretty happy with the type balance I've got, but I'm sure there's room for improvement. Currenly leveling everyone up to about 58 to give some room to level up before the next gym. Mamoswine (Nevermeltice, Thick Fat) Earthquake/Ice Shard/Thrash/Mist A new addition to my team, I've never properly used a Mamoswine in a Pokemon game before but I hear good things. I'm considering breeding Icicle Crash onto him for a strong STAB Ice move, but I'm kinda lazy. Magneton (Sturdy) Discharge/Flash Cannon/Magnet Rise/Metal Sound God I can't wait for him to be Magnezone. Jumpluff (Chlorophyll) Acrobatics/Giga Drain/Sleep Powder/U-Turn Another Pokemon I've not used before, Jumpluff is awesome for being a fast source of Sleep Powder, with U-Turn available to get him the hell out in a dangerous situation. His offensive power is a bit low, but Acrobatics still hits pretty hard due to its high power and Giga Drain keeps him alive. Sharpedo (Mystic Water, Speed Boost) Crunch/Ice Fang/Surf/Swagger) Surf isn't ideal, but I can't get a good Physical water move on him just yet (Surf is still better than Aqua Jet on such a speedy guy). A glass cannon, but Crunch can relaly put the hurt on and with his speed, he usually at least gets one good shot in. Delphox (Magician) Magma Drift/Psyshock/Will-O-Wisp/Grass Knot My starter, and an incredibly useful Pokemon. Psyshock lets me hit their Defense on Special walls, Will-O-Wisp neuters any physical threats, and his high speed and Special Attack make him a potent threat to nearly everyone. Hitmonchan (Amulet Coin, Iron Fist) Sky Uppercut/Thunder Punch/Ice Punch/Fire Punch A very versatile coverage machine, letting me hit nearly any Pokemon at least neutrally. I've chosen Sky Uppercut for the moment because, despite being a little weaker and less accurate than Close Combat, it has a lot more PP to give me better dungeon crawling stamina. Nidoqueen (Poison Barb, Sheer Force) Poison Sweep/Earth Power/Rock Climb/Toxic Spikes Recently benched to allow Mamoswine a chance to prove himself, Nidoqueen has been a powerful member of my team for a while. If I add her back to the team I will backtrack for the Sludge Wave and Shadow Ball TMs and convert her into a pure Special Attacker. I have access to most other Pokemon available thus far, and I'm willing to backtrack to grab things I missed.
  4. I agree with all these points. I've run a mixed attacker Nidoqueen before (slightly different moveset and stats than Nidoking, but the core remains the same) to great success. Sludge Wave will be MUCH stronger than Poison Jab (and if you pair him with Magneton in doubles fights, you'll hit both enemies at no cost to you). You will definitely want to backtrack to the Move Relearner and give Gardevoir Moonblast, because it's probably her best STAB move and will give you a leg up on anything Dragon, Fighting, or Dark (and the last two have upcoming Gym Leaders in the current version). DEFINITELY evolve Magneton into Magnezone if you're backtracking. The extra oomph of the higher level evolution is totally worth the time. Lotad is a pretty good Pokemon, if you take the time to level him up. You can also acquire an Eevee and get a Vaporeon if that would be more your speed.
  5. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16315 is the thread for item locations, including TMs. Energy Ball is not currently available in Reborn. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16407 is the thread for Pokemon locations. All the pokemon you mention ARE available currently, but many of them are not found until late into the game. Next time please refer to these two threads for information on where to find things.
  6. Matter of fact it's the same development team for both projects. Z/O was completed... a while ago (I don't remember off the top of my head) and Insurgence began development while Z/O was in the late stages of work. They have pretty similar styles of play, but Insurgence generally has a higher level of polish on everything. And Z/O is overflowing with outdated memes in random trainer dialogue, which may or may not change the experience for you. My advice would be start with Z/O, because it will give you an idea of the style of the devs (and is fully complete including endgame).
  7. Diggersby tho? No, seriously. Since you have two Water-types, I would suggest dropping Samurott (because Kingdra gets more coverage and is just cooler) in favor of another Pokemon. Diggersby with Huge Power hits like Chuck Norris, and just from leveling up can learn Bounce, Earthquake, Hammer Arm, and Facade. You can hit the Move Relearned to get Swords Dance In addition to hitting hard, he's got decent stats all around (except Special Attack, but with Huge Power who cares?). I've used him to good effect through most parts of Reborn, and he should remain useful going forward.
  8. Be warned that Clown Indra's teams are very tough at level 65, fully equipped with Life Orbs, Leftovers, what have you. He's the best training area but he can be hard to actually take down (some color combinations are nearly impossible for my various team formations).
  9. Don't say that or you know who will how up to rant about Lord Magnezone. But seriously, Blaziken is pretty fantastic. I picked him on my main run of Reborn and he's awesome.
  10. Well, what did you pick? We're curious to know.
  11. There IS a bit of a power gap between the starters, but even the weakest will be a strong team member for most of your journey (obviously nothing is gonna be good for every Gym). Do note that some starters are available later in the game (and in future updates, EVERY starter will be available no matter who you start with). Currently available starters are (spoilered to preserve the surprise, if you choose not to look): When it comes to pure power, Speed Boost Torchic is usually considered to be the strongest. If you have any favorites, though, I recommend you pick them. Reborn will make you use a wide variety of Pokemon and tactics you never considered before, so anything you pick will have strengths and weaknesses as the game goes (no matter how good Speed Boost Blaziken is, a Psychic trainer will prove problematic).
  12. This is pretty much what I expected. I'm sure adding in some of the new moves and abilities will take a lot of time to implement, much less work into the game in a way that actually WORKS. It's not a small matter to make a generational change in a game like Reborn, even if it's just updating movesets.
  13. To be fair to Greninja, it's competitive strength is as a suicide hazard setter, which is not the most useful niche in Reborn. Plus you have to chain breed to get Toxic Spikes, so you might as well skip him for a more rounded Pokemon.
  14. You'll be able to reach the water back there later in the story, when the gang moves to a different location. Not 100% sure that is where Barboach is found, since I didn't go hunting for one on either of my playthroughs.
  15. I'm curious what you hope to gain from this conversation. I disagree with you on many points (like, seriously, the term "roast" has a long history of exactly this kind of usage in English; nobody cares what UD says), and it's worth discussing some of your points, but you're being a little dismissive for someone who wants their opinion heard. Seriously, telling people that what they're writing and saying makes you cringe is not exactly opening up a dialogue with anyone.
  16. Chansey normally makes a fantastic Special tank with Eviolate (just don't evolve it to Blissey), but you can probably do some good with a Lucky Punch Chansey. The biggest problem is that Chansey's innate movepool is kind of terrible; you want Special attacks, and it doesn't naturally learn a single Special move. I think you could pull it off if you wanted, but I wouldn't recommend it as anything more than a passion project.
  17. I'm not sure about the other slots (you have a lot of Fighting-type choices), but DEAR GOD I recommend Clefable. Stored Power + Cosmic Power? Potent Psychic attacks with superhigh defenses (too bad I don't think you can teach it Calm Mind). Magic Guard? One of the best abilities in the game (you could just give it a Toxic Orb when they'er available and permanently ignore its status). STAB Moonblast and (eventual) access to Flamethrower? Yes please. It also learns a wide variety of TMs to fill in coverage gaps.
  18. Anna is yet to be fought, and Ame only knows what else you might face. A Ghost-type STAB is at least neutral coverage against non-Dark, non-Steel, non-Normal types. I would consider using Hidden Power for its relatively large PP pool; thanks to your field Hex will rarely get its boost, and Ominious Wind's effect is too rare to be worth its shallow PP pool outside of online battling. And I don't know if you want to add more Pokemon to your team, but I'd consider swapping Power Gem in instead of Magical Leaf. You can easily get a Gardevoir with Magical Leaf if you need the Grass type move, and Gardevoir has a flexible movepool to augment your existing team (Wish/Magical Leaf/Psychic/Moonblast?)
  19. Well my first thought is that you have some good mons, but you have a significant amount of typing overlaps. Two Fire types, two Water types... the limited amount of coverage is probably your biggest issue. If this was up to me, I'd pick between Lapras and Blastoise then Delphox and Arcanine. This is a very tough call; my personal preference would be Lapras and Delphox for the dual-type coverage (Lapras will be valuable when you get to face off against various Dragons). I'm curious what you got from the Beryl Ward Mystery egg, because that Pokemon is often quite useful. Also, can you post the Abilities of these Pokemon? There might be some changes to consider there.
  20. She probably dropped it during the plant infestation and it fell down through the chasms. Or it was picked up by an errant Magnetite and landed there when he reversed the polarity.
  21. My recommendation is actually a well-trained Mightyena, because it's easily available and if you can get enough speed (say with a lucky Thunder Wave), you can do a good chunk of damage with Bite.
  22. You will be able to advance the sidequest more as you progress through the game (7th Street has a storyline role to play, so you'll visit there eventually), but it cannot be completed in E15 as Lugruf said. Given that it used to reward a Magikarp, it probably won't be completable anytime soon.
  23. I'm in California, and I was able to log in and play. Full disclosure: I was in the closed beta. As far as starters go, all 3 spawned for me (both in the beta and during launch); I chose Bulbasaur, because I got rep for the OG Grass type.
  24. If you've beaten Ciel you can return to Reborn City (although you'll need to make sure you start Episode 16 from a save file in the Agate Circus due to changes). You can use the Fly TM to get to Reborn City, and trying to get back into Agate City will automatically teleport you to the Circus (and vice versa). The Grand Hall will offer the best XP and cash rewards, but the circus does give bonus shards. It's up to you. Ironically, my mono-bug team finds the Brown team at the circus to be one of the easier ones; Dragonite usually favors Extremspeed against my Crustle and is Choiced up so he gets destroyed by Rock Slide.
  25. http://www.theverge.com/2016/7/5/12102432/pokemon-go-release-date-ios-android-app-available It's official people: Pokemon is available worldwide for public consumption! Some people are having trouble getting the download to work, but there is a link the article for both Android and iOS downloads. I already found a Tauros!
