  1. That's odd, I could have swore I made future entries of the journal show up when you finish respective parts of their sidequest chain. The Sandbox Zone NPC is 100% intentional, though, as you'll have needed to have obtained the third badge before the next quest unlocks. But thank you for the feedback! I assure you, while the plot is fairly grounded, I've still put a lot of thought into it to make sure it feels like a proper Pokemon game plot, something that you could theoretically see in a main-line game. I also wanted to keep the difficulty in check. The early game is very hard to balance I've found but the second demo should provide more of a challenge hopefully! I hope that as more demos come out, you will come to enjoy the story and the game more!
  2. That's all there is for Demo 1! I covered just enough to give people a feel for what kind of game it would be. Demo 2 will be fairly longer and cover a bit more ground, so do look forward to it!
  3. Well, I'm going to take next to no feedback as good feedback, and begin work on Demo 2 in earnest! Starting off, Fotia Village, location of Mt. Fotia and the Mt. Fotia Seismology Center! Being situated next to a volcano means that not a whole lot of people want to live in the area. Most of the people who live there either work at the Seismology Center, or are family members of those that do. Despite that however, they do tend to get a fair bit of foot traffic because within Mt. Fotia is the path to the fourth gym of the Yitria Region, where the thrill-seeker Lindsey awaits with her team of Fire Pokemon. And for the helluv it, y'all can see what the map looked like when I first made it roughly 10 years ago.
  4. tbh yeah, I think I just placed them there because I had no idea where to put them at the time and they were part of a last minute addition. I'm all for sanity revisions honestly.
  5. Demo 1 is now officially released! The current progress is from Pharos City to Yozora Island, right up to the second rival battle. Enjoy!
  6. I was working on a Rejuvenation Sandbox mod for a while actually, long before my energy took a nosedive down the grand canyon. As you can see, I kind of haven't touched it in a while... I had a trip out of state not long after I started, and when I came back I had to do the update for V17 of Reborn's Sandbox Mod iirc (or maybe that was before I left...), and when I came back I just went into complete hibernation mode and kinda haven't been out since. But yes, I'm aware it's in good hands- Very good hands, in fact! I'm thankful that it didn't get completely left to the wayside, I was increasingly worried that I had let several people down by not getting E18 Sandbox out within like, two weeks of it's launch, and just continued dreading working on it the longer time went on. My energy levels are still really low- I managed to finish Demo 1 of my own fangame yesterday, but it's been an extremely agonizing uphill battle with my motivation and energy levels. I'll see what I can do in regards to E19 Sandbox, but I may hand it off entirely. My initial goal for it was to make something for people to enjoy, and if I can't handle maintaining it anymore, it's relieving to know someone out there is capable of continuing to deliver on my goals.
  7. [Proper banner forthcoming. Please wait warmly] "On the ancient fields of Kaiyomi, a catastrophic battle between two entities occurred, resulting in the complete change of the Zirconial Continent forever... now, far into the future, their conflict will finally reach its conclusion." ---------------- Welcome back to another round of "Derxwna Makes Games", starring The Badman himself, Derxwna Kapsyla! Today's project is one that's near and dear to my heart, something I've been planning and working and reworking on over and over, on and off, for over a decade now. A project I refer to as "Yitria Resurrection". Yitria Resurrection is a Pokemon-based Fangame built in the Pokemon Essentials engine. It plays like your traditional Pokemon game (Gym-Driven Story, Pokemon League, etc), and will be relatively easy to get into (unlike my Touhoumon projects, which have the 36 element type chart from the depths of the Abyss). The game itself tells the story of Robin Grace and their travels throughout the Yitria Region on their way to becoming strong enough to get recognized by the International Pokemon League Committee, and receive an invitation to the prestigious Grand League Tournament. To do this, they register for the Yitria League Circuit, which consists of the traditional fare of challenges for would-be Masters; the eight regional gyms, and the ever-challenging Pokemon League. The going isn't easy, as not all the Yitrian Leaders and Elite adhere to the traditional method of challenging trainers; from synthetic Pokemon to those associated with defensive strategies, going as far back as the ancient past to the far reaches of space, the Best of the Best choose to have their challengers build diverse teams, ready to take on anything. Every game has to have a list of features that makes them stand out, to really let the players know what sets this apart from the other games on the block. And, while this game may be simple, it does have its fair share of unique features! A list of them can be read below. Pokemon and game mechanics up to the 6th Generation (the 7th Generation will be added- eventually! At the very least, certain aspects will be!) A simple game, a simple plot. A goal to become the strongest trainer in the region, and an evil team to try and stop. We're really going back to our foundation here! Regional Variants! ...When I get the proper sprites and code for some of them! Two new Pokemon, one of them being the well-known MissingNo itself, the "box legendary" of this game. It'll even have a unique ability just for it! A Journal system so you can keep track of where you are in the game, as well as the sidequests you've undertaken. A "Sandbox Mode" that, when the game is finished, will allow you to have total control over how you want to play the game. In the current demo releases, it is inaccessible and incomplete. You can see examples of how this works in my mod for Pokemon Reborn, as well as the Sandbox Mode for Touhoumon Purple made by Agastya. That's it. No new types, no Shadow Pokemon, no second region, no super sprawling plot that'll take 100 hours to complete. This is me reigning myself back in, and using everything I've learned about game design, both in the philosophy and practicality, and putting it to use. Other "features" that I've probably forgot to list, but will put here when I remember them! If that's not enough to pique your interest, have some screenshots to go along with the features list! They show off some of the features in action! Everyone loves bug lists! It means they can see what bugs are known about and can be fixed, or are in the process of being fixed! That way, people don't have to report them, right? Hahaha......................... Tier 3 - Serious Game Breaking/Mechanic Altering Bugs Nothing has been listed here yet! Tier 2 - In the process of fixing You might see a Black Void around the edge of some maps. While this doesn't break the game, it does look tacky. I am in the process of rectifying these, so if you notice any in the latest build please point them out to me! Not really a bug but annoying; Some music tracks are too loud or quiet. I am in the process of adjusting the tracks so they're at a more uniform volume. Some music tracks don't loop properly. If you spot one that doesn't, hit me up. Tier 1 - Almost unnoticeable Nothing has been listed here yet! Tier 0 - I am fully aware of these and, for various reasons, cannot fix them Move animations still use the generic Type-animations as part of Essentials. Unless you want to make custom animations for each and every move, this is unlikely to be rectified. I suggest playing with animations disabled. Yes, I am aware several graphics are generic. They are placeholders until I can get some proper assets for NPCs. Please do not tell me of this, unless you are offering to rectify this issue yourself. In which case, please contact me at your leisure! Help is appreciated! It's very possible I missed some bugs in this list. If you notice any I forgot, relay them to me and I'll have throw them here and try to fix them if I can! As always, unless I specifically say otherwise on release, I suggest saving inside a house or a Pokemon Center. Changes have been, and will continue to be, made to outside maps to revise them. This section is where you can find the current build of the game, as well as the Quick Patches associated with that release. Quick Patches are little releases that fix small bugs, as these bugs usually don't warrant a total reupload and rerelease (this was done to spare my internet connection...). Detailed instructions on how to install Quick Patches will be provided alongside the download for the patch itself. Current Version: Demo 1 (Released: June 1st, 2019) Current Quick Patch: None I am not going to deny the people who's work contributed to this project their due credit. While a master list of the credits is included with the download itself, I will list everyone here and update accordingly. If you wish to contact me for any reason regarding the game, you're free to leave a message on this thread, shoot me a PM on here, contact me on the Discord Server, or find me on my various social media hangouts, such as my personal Tumblr account, or my personal Twitter account..
  8. This is the most delayed response to anything ever but; I'm not dead, real life has been giving me the ultra kick in the rear for the past year, and quite frankly that isn't so much an explanation as an excuse. I was working on the E18 build but I just. Haven't had the energy to work on ANYTHING for a year. Thankfully, someone managed to get a build out. I'll see if I can get one out for E19 when it comes out. If not, perhaps the person who released E18 compat. can do E19. I'm still really, really exhausted, and only just hit a turbo burst of energy like, three days ago. I am deeply, deeply sorry for not having E18's out in any sort of reasonable timeframe.
  9. I've been very tired lately.

  10. I'll get around to the E18 build at some point soon; things have been biting me in the rear again and I haven't been feeling like being any more productive than it takes to get out of bed each morning and faff about online. I just need to look over what all has changed so I can start porting and tweaking.
  11. Obtaining Alolan Variants will be a thing in the next build, I haven't started working on that yet. An NPC that converts an existing Pokemon to a Shiny is a bit outside my capabilities at the moment, but I might look into it. Unfortunately, I have no idea what this error is. It's the first time I've heard of it. I could look into it, but I can't guarantee it'll be doable. Move Relearner should be in the same room as the Day Care Lady, at the table with three other NPCs, top right corner of the table. If that NPC is not there, then your version of Sandbox Mode is not updated to the current build. Make sure you have the current version and the Quick Patches relevant to that version. I have no idea how the Garcidea works, I just made it obtainable. As for Hoopa-U, it's possible that's because it doesn't have Tutor moves defined yet, which isn't something I didn't account for, but likely wasn't present in the base game. I'll check into it and see if it's like that in unmodified Reborn at some point.
  12. This will be coming soon-ish, whenever I finish working on the second part of it: If anyone has anything else they wish to tell me, now is the time.
  13. Does E17 work through Wine normally, without Sandbox Mode? If it does, are you using any other modifications that could be tampering with the game?
  14. Version 4 is officially out and uploaded! It has been added to the first post, along with a guide of where absolutely everything is. Here's the change log for Version 4 If you notice any bugs, feel free to report them here or in PM!
  15. Okay! I have finished the guide for Sandbox Mode, and to my knowledge, nothing else is missing! I'm going to post the link to the guide first, and if people think anything else is missing, they can address me, and I'll get it in Sandbox before I actually release it. Link to the guide can be found here: https://goo.gl/9neDsj
  16. Builds of Sandbox for Episode 16 are no longer supported unfortunately, so I'm afraid you're out of luck there. If anyone has a copy they can throw your way, then I'd be fine with that, but I can't offer support for outdated builds. Anyway radio silence aside I've just gotten some more work done. The Manual Nature Selection NPC is done, as well as a few other things (Pokerus NPC, Secret Sword tutor). I don't know what else I need to do, so I'll double check all the notes I can find, and if I'm done then I guess I'll have V4 uploaded soon-ish.
  17. The Quick Patches should fix this. Did you apply them sequentially (Patch 1, then Patch 2?)
  18. Unfortunately, this issue is new to me. I have no knowledge of what would be causing it or why it would be doing this. My suggestion would be to redownload the game. Your save will not be impacted in any way by doing this.
  19. Yeah, extract the files into the data folder from the Sandbox directory I was working on it but other things came up and distracted me fro making it. I'll try and get back to it when I'm available again!
  20. A pokerus distributor is on the table! However, until Amethyst adds the content from Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon it won't be in Sandbox Mode.
  21. I will look into that for the next build! HMs might break story progression a bit, but I'll ask around... I can't make any big promises though. Anyway, I'm back from my trip! I'm pretty sick, but I found some time to start working on the guide for the Sandbox Zone! It's reminiscent of strategy guides that would display the map and number things like trainers, items, and warps. However, this is entirely designed in Google Sheets (And I will look into making an Excel variant for offline use after all is said and done.). Have a small preview of what it'll look like! General NPCs and Warps will be simple like this. Trainers will list what Pokemon they use, and if they have a special function. Vendors will list each item they sell, as well as the price they sell it at, and if it's a One-Time purchase item. Some people might think this is unnecessary but... I mean hell, strategy guides exist for a lot of things. When thought of like that, this isn't really that strange, especially with all the questions about where things are that I get! ...Not to mention that I also tend to forget where things are. Either way, this'll help out a lot I'm sure. I'll be working more on Version 4 alongside this at some point, so stick around for that!
  22. So, I'm not home yet, but I figured I'd check in and see if anything happened while I was away. Fortunately, nothing seems to have broken while I was gone! Lets address a few things then: So, I can definitely bump the money up to 15k a pop. Not a big deal, simple change. There will be two therapists, one who works like the 7th Street therapist, and one who lets you manually select. I know now how I can make the manual selection work, so that will be in Release 4, alongside a few other things. I can make it so that after you fight the EV Trainers, your party's health will be restored, which should restore PP as well. Thanks for pointing it out! As for the tutors... Doable, but way too much effort and work. The code would be a disaster for me to work with and I have no desire to try and fiddle with several npcs to make it work, sorry to say. I might make some sort of aid to go along with Release 4 that properly documents everything in Sandbox Zone, so people can easily find what they're looking for without needing to do trial and error. Sandbox Saves and Normal Saves are stored in different folders. They will not impact one another at all. You can port your saves to the relevant build by moving it from the folder it's in. ------------------------------ Well, that should be all for now! I'll be home in about a week and a half, and when I do I'll plan out what needs to be done for Version 4. I'll also look into making a Sandbox Mod for specific mods, with the developers permissions. Until then, see you all around!
  23. That might be outside my department entirely, since that's before you can even touch the Sandbox stuff. Just to be sure, though; check with other starter Pokemon. If that doesn't cause the bug, redownload and reapply the two quick patches in the proper order. I would also like to take this moment to say that from now until February 4th, at the earliest, I will not be reachable; I am going on an out-of-state trip and will not have access to Sandbox Mode in the off chance that something happens. When I return, I will be looking into potentially making Sandbox Mode compatible with other mods if need be, such as Following Pokemon. Keep an eye out, folks!
  24. It's stuff involving netplay which I don't remember the specifics off the top of my head, as well as the alternate egg hatching routine I added which should be somewhere in the day care scripts. I'll look into making Sandbox and Following Pokemon compatible at a later date; I am going on my trip out of state very soon, so I can't get wrapped up in attempting to make it work, then disappearing and finding out several bugs popped up.
  25. Good question! I have no idea how they're obtained normally, so someone's going to have to inform me.
