  1. Nice idea with the shedninja, thats an easy to overlook pokemon. I managed to beat the yveltal but got swept by a Goodra. Seems to be a legendary/psuedo-legendary themed user.
  2. I stopped watching Game Theory after a few episodes. A lot of times he simply ignores canon material for no reason and comes up with incredibly faulty logic. Its actually aggravating to watch it.
  3. Agreed, Ive always preferred the item based route that Insurgence takes.
  4. Autoit is basically just a a scriptable macro for your computer as well as being a rudimentary programming language(very rudimentary). So you can use it with just about anything on windows.
  5. Eh I have a few small things to nitpick here. For one you are correct that ethics is a social convention. Ethics however isnt necessarily the disregard of others. It changes over times and in different cultures. For the vikings it was ethical to go to war and pillage, human sacrifice was ethical to the aztecs, etc. Your call to action isnt really a call to be ethical, its a call to make not being indifferent ethical. The other nitpick, indifference is a mandatory part of being alive. There is simply too much information and too many people to not be indifferent to the vast majority of them. I like the vibe of your call to action but I challenge you to walk down the streets of new york or seattle and in practice not be indifferent to EVERYONE you cross paths with. You simply cant. Youll be stopping every three seconds to interact with someone who in all likelihood wants you to leave them alone. People will probably just think youre one of those crazy people out in the streets. Now I know you said specifically not to do this, but I want to reiterate this because the small is evident of the big, no? We have to be indifferent to many smalls to order to function and ergo sometimes we need to be indifferent to the big. There are too many big things out there each and everyone of us could help, but none of us can help all of them. Some things have to be pushed to the side. Its when everyone pushes the same things to the side that issues occur. The incident with the man killed is also less likely to be a case of disregard for human life as it is a case of the Bystander Effect. That feeling that 'oh someone else will take care of the issue' and thus never intervene. Documented cases of some very terrible things have occurred in the middle of a crowd with no one stopping it simply because of the bystander effect. The story feels a lot like that case, its not that the people didnt care(some of them probably didnt) its that no one had the courage to make it their problem. It may not seem like much of a difference to you, but I see it as being the source of a completely different and likely equally insurmountable problem. Theres a few other things I could probably comment on, but I already know that I probably shouldnt as itd be delving into things where I have a uhh 'unique' opinion on that wouldnt really be helpful.
  6. Only a little exchange with a litwick coming out and saying sorry for its mom attacking you, then asks to join. Unfortunately I cant unstuck someone from that spot without that little exchange, so I mentioned that you have the litwick in your box now.
  7. If you think thats the end of the troll with this event you are sorely mistaken hue hue hue. It might not even be the missing link people have been searching for, I merely know that it is a segment of the great chase
  8. Ahahahaha just got it! Shellys a BOOKWORM. Book gym, uses bug types! I get it

    3. Avatar of Grima

  9. Theres been no evidence to suggest that they arent already
  10. Incorrect. Need to beat the first gym leader, time of day doesnt influence the event at all.
  11. Okay I know this is a bit of a necro, but I have a relevant suggestion with something Ive been playing around with. Ive been trying out a few different things to speed up Reborn for awhile now to counteract the lag I get from pretty much everywhere(especially when its raining, screw the rain!). Anyways my latest little experiment seems to be working nicely. In the script editor on RGSS2Compatibility, line 72 is Graphics.frame_rate = 40 Now apparently RMXP will let you set this value up to 120(and someone posted a work around to make it go much higher). I set mine to 120, saved, fired up the game and holy crap it was going faster then I could even get CheatEngine's speedhack! During rainy weather. Now 120 is a bit too fast, as indoors walking felt like I was the flash so now Im sitting at a fairly comfortable 80. Even 80 might be a bit much for a default value, but I recommend tweaking it up to 60 and seeing how that impacts the game. The only real concern I can think of is that since it speeds up all frame based timers as well, that means some cutscenes might move a bit quicker then originally intended. Personally I think thats a small risk for a performance boost across literally every conceivable part of the game.
  12. For the fennekin Ill give a lil hint from something I noticed while poking around. It wouldnt surprise me at all if some people werent checking a certain rooftop.
  13. Not to mention the atmosphere is utterly different and the story completely different. Id go as far as to say that if you compare the current story progress to the equivalent progress in reborn, rejuvenation has the better storyline. As people have said before, there is a sense of mystery going on in Rejuvenation and players want to see what the answers are. As for 'taking too many ideas' well boy, he sure hasn't seen the pokemon essentials community at all. Many of the best features in a lot of games can be found first in older incomplete games. People post up scripts and share resources and ideas all the time. Afterall if someone comes up with a neat trick and it helps a dozen other people realize their vision of what they want their game to be why not put it out there? Which is exactly what has happened. Amethyst is even listed in the credits multiple times lol
  14. lol yo dawg play the game before you start talking crap.
  15. You need to beat the third gym. Afaik there is no ditto in the game, but I havnt exactly combed the game for all event pokemon so maybe there is one. Honestly Id expect wed be able to get one a bit further down the line, another gym or two at the minimum.
  16. Man its called the Rule of Cool. We aint getting legendaries anytime soon, and some pokemon would fit the role. A pokemon doesnt have to be legendary to be 'strong'. To me Absol fits very well with this idea, and there maybe a small handful of others thatd work. Eh Im not gunna cry if the idea isnt incorporated, just thought it might be neat and that maybe others would think its neat.
  17. One other idea Id like to throw out that people will probably vehemently disagree with me over, but it may be neat for some(but very very few) event pokemon to actually be over the level cap for the point you get it at. Only one that comes to mind atm as a candidate would be the absol. Especially after the topic where there are a lot of signs of absol being reborns unofficial mascot, a lot of main pokemon games will place legendaries/mascots as overleveled for the area. The idea would be here is this cool really strong pokemon but even if you catch it, it doesn't respect you as a trainer yet till you can prove yourself. Might be neat, slightly on topic, braced for the oncoming no ways. edit: oh yeah that heracross event really should be at least on par with the ones you have to fight to get it, just really makes no sense at all that itd be low level.
  18. Its not like it has to be entirely one way or the other. No reason why you couldnt have low leveled event pokemon when it makes sense(baby pokemon like magby) and have others like absol come in at higher levels. Overall I do have to agree with the idea of lessening grinding. Its basic game design and you can't get around that fact. Just because pokemon games have historically been grind heavy doesn't mean reborn has to demand it as an extra cost for using an event pokemon. Especially if we do start getting easier EV training options and heart scale access. Also it is a simple fact that wild pokemon barring rare pokemon are going to be outclassed by event pokemon. Most wild pokemon are designed to be generic fodder. Simply looking a BST, movesets, and abilities can tell you that. Theres nothing wrong with this. Promoting diversity doesnt mean that every single pokemon has to have some godly niche. Despite the whole mythos pokemon games have perpetuated of 'all pokemon are equal!!!' its simple fact that not all pokemon are created equal. Yet reborn has gone a long way to give love to pokemon thatd often be overlooked, and a great number of those pokemon hapen to be event pokemon. I dont believe that is a simple coincidence.
  19. Well it would be helpful if there were a bit more info explained in game, cause outside Word of God and popular fan theories there are the occasional bits of fridge logic that creep up. Yes we all pretty much know that Noel's gym was the orphanage, and that Charlotte only seen her gym once while her mother still ran it and you are her first challenger, etc but none of that is in game(or hidden very well if it is). There is a section in game where it is explicitly stated that all gym leaders have backups assigned to them but except Aya's case it is never mentioned who is a primary gym leader and who isn't. For all our characters know everyone inside that orphanage are backups, not primary gym leaders. Think kind of like an assistant manager. They still have the authority to give you challenges and thus give you needed badges for progression. Theres also been strong evidence that no one, or very few, has even challenged the Reborn League in the past decade. Remember the situation is so bad that you the player as a known experienced and capable trainer are brought in by the head of the Reborn League to challenge it and solve the ongoing issues. If the league was a kitchen youre basically gordon ramsey(maybe not that famous in the game but you get my drift). Also would be nice that if this is true, to be made more clear in game.
  20. I love seeing good game design in practice almost as much as I love seeing bad game design in practice ;)

  21. No he didnt say that. He said that peoples opinions backed by rhetoric is more valid than those that dont. Shouldn't be putting words into other peoples mouth. You can't just use your own meaning, thats not how definitions are used. Especially if youre taking the position of arguing with semantics. The argument is a matter or validity versus choice. You arent going to be convincing anyone arguing only one half of the issue. Also don't believe I ever said that I was agreeing with them. Just gunna say how I love that this topic turned into a heated debate over levels. Pretty sure at this point Amethyst has gathered plenty of enough different viewpoints to make her decision.
  22. Uhh wut. Yeah you can make an argument for everyones opinion counts but saying that his claim that an opinion is only valid if its backed by rhetoric is a biased perspective is well faulty rhetoric. Second part: just no, you have a warped sense of what the word forced means. The stance hes taking, right or wrong, is that for a low level even pokemon to be viable he is forced to grind it up. Alternatively if it was already higher up itd be viable, and if you choose to have it low leveled you have options to do so. Its an argument of viability versus choice. For the last, that is the very foundation of group think...
  23. Maybe..... Uncommon candies? :Kappa:
