Well i'm not sure how you can help your friend, they have to realize there is more than just brute force in this game and utilize the mechanics offered to them to turn the tables in their favor or make a strategy that consists of more than just hit it til it dies. He also needs to realize there is a massive amount of 'good' pokemon to be found in Pokemon Reborn if you change your view from what is considered popular or 'good' in the canon games to what will help you out in THIS game and THIS situation, pokemon who can utilize a lot of field effects or have actually got decent stats to their name when you don't ignore them or even take a moment to try them out properly without forsaking them after a few stumbles. I have a feeling their idea of 'good' pokemon is ones that are popular pokemon or stuff that is designed to be a strong pokemon like Gible which if so, they will be waiting a while for those 'good' pokemon he so believes they must have.

As Swamellow has said, there is no confirmation we will see it cleaned up in game, there is however someone making a mod or something that will have byxbysion ward cleaned up though i'm unsure of if the mod is still being worked on:

i mean, Poipole is a very late game pokemon and very difficult to obtain unless you already had a Poipole hell i don't think it can be bred which makes it even more valuable, though if no one has decided to trade you one ill swing by in a few hours with one to trade you.

i don't recall Abra being part of the Side Quest at all. Loudred yes but not Abra.

some very limited options you got there with no option of Other. Smash Bros was terrible after Brawl, Melee was gold, Brawl was ok didn't like some of the character's though but beyond that it turned into trash to me and i would rather the option to have smash disappear all together.

Alright, just so ya know Binacle is 1% chance in the rock smashable rocks, i can provide Slowpoke and the fossil for anorith too.

Binacle iirc is on the Apophyll beach in the rocks you can smash, Slowpoke you need a super rod and fish at route 4 right outside calcenon city where the waterfall is (he is rather rare), Anorith is just a fossil ya gotta get from mining attempts, Litten can be obtained from a woman in (i think she is in the pokemon center?) if you started in episode 17 i think it was there shouldn't be an issue completing the pokedex through her i can't remember why but depending on when ya start she will give you the wrong starter i think for completing your dex. Shroomish is a wild encounter on Route 4 though i dont know if it is specifically Grassy only or if icy grass works too Psyduck can't be found except as an egg but Golduck it's evolved form is a wild encounter inside Celestine Mountain, you can find it rarely when surfing.

Day 4 --> Night 4 Amidst the usual murmurs of the town discussion a sudden voice piped up exclaiming Astra was mafia and that they would bet their own life on it, after a brief time an overwhelming majority with a few exceptions were in favor of casting Astra into the void, when it came time however Astra put up no fuss and simply walked into the void themselves without a fight, Great Red's voice then echo'd through the void and to the town: "This one you send is a seeker of chaos, this one is not one from the Gremory faction!"
