from a story point of view it works, earlier in you would look at Saphira and think to yaself, even if i had the same levels as her it would likely be a very difficult battle for my team, but when you reach her gym in the story it feels more like you been through SO much shit, you and your team are prepared to stand on equal footing with her.

for all we know her Dragonite may be defensively built evs/ivs wise but we can also use Gastro Acid if we felt like removing it's ability or Soak/Nature's Madness if we felt like changing it's type but those are only for people really struggling.

Well i think you are overthinking it, consider what one must do to get a Poipole/Nagandel, the amount of effort it takes i think makes up for how it fares against Saphira's team that said, have you considered the possibility that we face Saphira in doubles? this may change the battle somewhat even then for those that get a Nagandel if they want a more challenging battle they can refrain from using it.

If Von Karma is in the game i expect he is a mafia because the dude will do ANYTHING for his perfect record and has such a commanding authority he can intimidate the judge into submission.

If such a role exists there is no chance in hell that role is village sided as it basically makes it way to easy to identify all the mafia, it could be 3rd party but for what? If it exists and if it's mafia aligned then i would expect two dead Templar if mafia had access to the 2nd kill through some connection to who did it. Also with some thought on it, i expect if Shelly De Killer is in the game he is an Assassin and if Bobby Fulbright aka The Phantom is in the game that he is some kind of copycat role who either steals someone's identity like the maid thing or is kinda like someone who kills you and takes over as your identity and must win with that identities win conditions.

by characters i mean the actual characters, it's easier to ask people to make note of who their character is than asking for their roles and i doubt the characters themselves would be hidden information unless there was a role in the game that identified them specifically, also knowing the characters who might fit the role of someone who could have performed the second kill helps us narrow down possibilities of what to expect. Also if Ali sent out any information it could be important so yes that's something worth knowing and i never considered a granny role but it makes sense, that said here is what we know so far: * We have more than just mafia able to kill people * We have Templars in the game. You could also pitch in a more 'morally good' or 'ethically good' way of getting rid of unwanted pokemon with the wildlife institute place in route 1 perhaps accepting donations of any pokemon so that they can try reintroducing it to Reborn with pokemon that are more rare and dont appear wild being more valuable in some kind of donation points score or such that lets you redeem them for some useful items.
