Pokemon in Space [IC Chapter #03]
Komodojoe replied to Bfroger6's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Desmond Desmond looks over his Aether Ball for a few seconds. Kinda hard to believe that a Pokemon of any shape or size can fit in this one little ball. Not many people seem to question how it works, either. Ah, screw it. Now's not really the time to be asking such questions. Not much of our technology these days really wouldn't make much sense by this logic. Well, there's that, and we're kinda getting a bit off topic, here. Desmond pressed the button, the creature inside showed itself as Aron, the Iron Armor Pokemon. It looked at it's trainer with it's blue eyes. "Hey, Flint. It's been a little while." Desmond said as he knelt down to pet the Steel-type Pokemon. "Well..." He started, somewhat delaying to scrounge up what he can for the short version of the story. "I suoopse it started with a story my sister told me about one of her missions as a cadet. There was a lot to it, but the main thing that caught my attention was the fact that an Aggron was very protective and caring of it's territory. Not only will it protect it's territory from anything that violates it, but it also restores any damage done to it's natural beauty. And I respect that, especially since many other kinds of Pokemon aren't really all that willing to go that far." -

Desmond "So much for subtlety..." Desmond said, somewhat aggravated by the amount of noise that came from the nexus drill. Seriously, could they have been any louder?... Actually, don't answer that. "Well, at least they're here, I guess." He proceeded to the drill with most of the other crew, keeping an eye out for anything out of the ordinary. Something is bound to be attracted to all this noise, and it would be better if he spotted it before it spotted them. -

Desmond Desmond didn't budge when Meggie walked in the door. She was definitely calmer now than the last time he saw the Gabite, that's for sure. However, there's still a risk with it around. It is a dragon, after all. He wasn't afraid, but he did feel that he'd have to be a bit more cautious with her around. Desmond entered the room after everyone else, somewhat surprised to see that the tree was not a tree, but an Exeggutor, which makes some sense when you think about it. A tree shooting out of the floor and through the roof by itself like that doesn't really seem possible. A Pokemon on the other hand, would be a more viable cause... that, and if you haven't really been paying attention to any of these last seven posts, let alone this one, it's kinda obvious that it was the cause. He turned to Kai. "Not like we should do anything right now. We'll probably end up doing more harm than good seeing as we're in someone's home. Even if no one gets hurt, we'll most likely end up damaging the house one way or another." -

Strider vs. Slumbering Giant The second blast hit Strider right in the torso, making it slam into the wall again. Followed by the blasts from her hands, then the grenades. Neither the shields, nor the VI con trolling them, were giving up that easily, but that barrage definitely made a dent. And on top of that, the display on Morgan's glasses lit up red, but seeing how messed up it was, she couldn't figure out what the problem was. Looks like she was gonna have to finish this, quick. And she's got just the right primer for it. EAS deactivated. All stats have returned to normal. With the help of it's jets, Strider got back on it's feet almost instantly... and kinda slipped forward, making her fall to one knee and punch the ground (which might've actually earned her some style points), and erected the cannon on her shoulder. We all know what happens next. Signature Attack: Revenge Blast initiated. The emerald blast from Strider's cannon shoots forward at the Giant, the power behind it would hit her with twice the damage that Strider got assaulted with. It should do quite a bit of damage, but exactly how much remains to be seen. -

Desmond "Alright... I'll just stay back here, I guess." Desmond said, walking towards the front door. He's pretty sure he's just talking to himself at this point, though. "Someone's gotta let the others in when they get here." It didn't take long for him to hear knocking on the door. He could take three guesses as to who it is, but that probably wouldn't be necessary. It's not like there's that many other people around here. That being said, he walked toward the door, grabbed the handle, and opened it up to see the trio that recklessly ran off after the Gabite, along with the Gabite itself. Like there was much of a chance of it being anyone else. Well, there was a slight chance, but... you know... details. Who needs 'em? "Oh, good. You're here." He said, opening the way for them. "Everyone else is in the other room looking at a tree... as strange as that sounds." -

Desmond "Well, that's reassuring... The fact that they're fine, I mean." Desmond finally spoke. "At least now, we know everything's okay on their end." Again, he'd mostly kept quiet up until now, but whatever. He was mostly a listener, anyway. And the fact that things for the other group were as he said: reassuring. He didn't even realize they were gone until they were... well, gone. Good to know something good came out of it, though. He went back to his silence for the time being, unless, of course, someone else had something to say about it. -

Desmond "You know, even though you can't see me, it doesn't exactly mean I'm hiding." Desmond said to Taylor as he walked back to the rest of the group. "...But the rest of that is true, though." It was apparent that he was talking to the girl this time, but he didn't turn toward her until after he spoke. He heard enough to know that neither her nor the Gabite were the real threat around here. Well, the Gabite was a threat right now, but only until it can be calmed down. Question is, how do they go about calming it down? ...That's a good question, actually. From what Desmond could see, there's no good way of doing that. Of course, that's just his angle. Someone else probably has a better idea. Guess there's only one thing to do now. "Er..." He turns his attention back to the new girl. "We don't have any Pokemon on us, but is there anything we could do to help?" -

Desmond "Yeah... Let's not have it come to that." Desmond replied. What Taylor said was kinda contradictory to what he did before, but whatever. He slowly, quietly made his way down the other path, constantly switching his gaze so he can keep an eye on his group, the giant Gabite, and to make sure ha doesn't step on anything that might make noise. -

Desmond So... I guess Taylor was right? Huh. Who knew it'd be the other way around for once? Desmond nodded back to the Patrat, understanding that they just want the two them out. then turned to Kalva. "Alright..." He says, beginning to walk down the path the rodents opened for them. "I guess we should get a move on then. Who knows what they'll do if we stay. It's probably best that we don't find out." He walks off at a slower pace so Kalva can catch up. Well, that and he doesn't want to make any sudden movements, lest they try to bite one of his hands off or something. He'll follow Kalva's pace once he catches up, though. -

Desmond "Wait. Don't just-" Realizing Taylor was already on the move, Desmond couldn't really do much other than quietly sigh. "Goddammit." Someone should tell... him? ...her? ...Taylor should probably be informed that just bailing like that has a good chance of enticing wild Pokemon like these to attack. Desmond pretty much does the same thing as Kalva, except he doesn't put his hands up like the kid did, though was still obvious that his hands were empty. Even he knew just running off was a bad idea. That, and Kalva would just be left by himself. At least Taylor had a running start. Kalva on the other hand... well, it really depends on what happens next. Desmond's got his back on this. If Kalva runs, Desmond runs. If Kalva stays, Desmond stays. And if Kalva gets attacked before he can do anything, then Desmond will do his damned hardest to pull the kid outta there. On another note, Desmond also tried to keep a watchful eye elsewhere to see if he can spot anything out of the ordinary, whether it is other Patrat, something he can defend himself with, or maybe even backup... He's probably hoping for too much with that last one, though. -

Desmond - Group A 2 Desmond scanned the tracks and noticed two things. First, he sees that the tracks led out of the clearing. Like, into the trees. The second thing he notices is that upon further inspection of the tracks themselves, they're the footprints of a small Pokemon, most likely a rodent of some sort. The third thing was- oh, wait... there were two things. And on top of that, Taylor managed to get a clear signal, but the chaos he heard wasn't exactly expected, and that second part did cause some concern as well. It then occurred to him that, oh shit, there was a third thing. It appears he wasn't the only one to notice the tracks. The other boy in the group, presumably Kalva, was following following the footsteps, not that "stand around with a watchful eye" stuff that Desmond was doing. The kid was bold, he'll give him that. Well, either that or naive, but that doesn't take away the fact that he wasn't as cautious. And given the current situation, that might not be a good thing. He tried calling out to the boy. "Hey! Let's hold off on that for a minute. We have no idea where we are. It could be dangerous." Actually, it probably was dangerous. Most rodents are small, but that doesn't mean they can't bite. Hopefully, he'll listen and come back, or at least take that into consideration so he's less likely to put himself in danger. There's no telling what he'll do until he does it, though. -

Desmond While Taylor messes with the A-Comm signal, Desmond takes a look at his surroundings. He had no idea of where they are now, but it was obvious they weren't in that virtual realm anymore, the lack of circles underneath their feet made that clear. He did notice something else by their feet, though-something that could easily be missed if you didn't have a knack of noticing small stuff, which he did. There were small tracks spread out in the area, too small to be a human's, unless it was a small child, but who would let their kid run around by themselves in a place like this? He scanned the trail, looking to see if he can find the source without moving, lest he gets too close. -

(OOC: So... a lot of stuff went down and I couldn't really get this when I wanted to. It's not like there was more to what I was saying, though.) Desmond "Hmm..." He was deep in thought again. "So there was a bit more to it. Not as much as I was expecting, but..." It still felt like it was a bit too easy. Probably because he wasn't actually doing anything but watching. "Maybe I'm overthinking it a bit..." With that in mind, he figured there was nothing else to do but wait. -

Desmond Desmond had mainly kept silent, leaving his thoughts to himself. "That looked surprisingly easy. Was that the test?" He thought to himself. "No... Well, yes, but that's probably not all there is to it. On the bright side, at least I'll know what to do when I'm up." He definitely wasn't paying attention. In fact, it took a second for him to notice that everyone was making introductions. It most likely didn't start off like that, which is probably why he didn't notice, but that's definitely what it evolved to. It would be rude for him to not do the same, wouldn't it? He waited for a gap in the conversation, then stepped forward and spoke. "Er..." He cleared his throat. "...Sorry. I'm Desmond Miles. It's nice to meet you all, I guess." -

Strider vs. Slumbering Giant The shot from Mommo's cannon would do absolutely nothing. ...I'm totally kidding. Unfortunately, the window of opportunity was not big enough for Morgan to mess around with the EAS and dodge the shot from the Giant's cannon at the same time, but where one would fail, another would exceed... to a degree. Strider's VI had a bit more freedom with Morgan practically taking over all sense of movement and power control of the EAS, and that meant it could shift the shields around to protect the mech from a certain direction... at the cost of where it was taking it from, of course (but it could never take away the entirety of the shield from that spot, just a good chunk of it). So that's what happened. The shields were shifted to the front just before impact. The laws of physics can be a real bitch, though. Strider was sent flying backwards, until it landed and started tumbling backwards right up until it hit the wall with. The hard impact to the wall actually shook up the inside well enough to make Morgan lose her glasses. She moved her arms and hands around to find them, and thank the goodness she switched the controls. Otherwise, her mech would probably be doing some weird stuff right now. Instead, it just looked like she was miserably failing to get back up. However, when she finally did find them, she would find that the glasses' display was fading in and out. And on top of that, one of her lens were cracked. Well, at least she had a few spare lenses to replace it. The display was the real problem. Even if she had ways of fixing it, she couldn't do it with everything going on right now. She would just have to make due. Meanwhile, Strider was now sliding forward while it was struggling to get back up. At this point, it was still just a moving target. Mommo could easily get another shot in if she really wanted to. -

Strider vs. Slumbering Giant Morgan saw the damage she did to the Giant's arm. It looked like she did a number on it, but it was still operable. She then took notice of another volley of rockets pursuing her. She took aim with her machine guns, but by the time she did, she noticed the grenade and was taken by surprise. She couldn't react to everything at once. Well, not perfectly. Looks like she wasn't using that built up energy just yet. "Uh-oh." She seemed worried. "System, activate the EAS. Put everything into it." Command Accepted... EAS activated. Firepower is now 0 from 6. Speed is now 1 from 5. Total stats given to armor: 5. Final stats: Firepower is now 0. Speed is now 1. Armor is now 8. Witn no way to move, Strider was sent sliding away by the chain explosion, and couldn't really do anything else at the moment. She could soak up a lot of damage, though. Morgan sighed as she slid a little circlet onto her head. "Switching controls to advanced..." She said with a hint of annoyance. She really hated doing this. While it was more convenient, it always gave her a bit of a headache. Too many things run through your head while doing this, both consciously and unconsciously. To be fair, though, that's really because there was more to a mech than a human body. She should probably find a way to fix the problem. But first thing's first, she needs to finish this fight. And now, she's got full mental control rather than various other controls, so things should be a bit easier to operate at the very least. -

Desmond Desmond witnessed the circle's reaction to Kai's touch and raised an eyebrow. "Well... that's interesting. Must be some sort of registration." He thought to himself as he interacted with the circle surrounding him. "Seems a bit excessive for a simple registry, though." It mimicked the movements of the other circles, and pretty much everything else happened the same way. His A-comm vibrated with the letters 'DRM', his initials, popping up on the screen, then they would appear on the circle surrounding him. This felt less and less like a simple registry. And that was before he looked up. When he did, there was now a Dodrio standing between the group and the Porygon lookin' thing. "...And now it makes sense. But why are we doing a test now? Didn't we graduate?" Multiple possibilities ran through Desmond's mind, none of which changed the fact that they're standing here of all places doing this... whatever this is. Actually, what were they supposed to be doing? Other than the one girl who was hanging back just as he was, everyone was jumping the gun. Meanwhile, no instruction was given just yet. He quietly sighed, a look of annoyance shown on his face. "I'm sorry, but can everyone calm down for just a second?" He said with a stern voice. "We don't even know what we're supposed to be doing just yet." -

Desmond - The Matrix has you... Desmond looks around the place without a clue as to where they are. Did they take a wrong turn? Probably not. They followed the directions to the letter... right? Actually, where exactly is here? It looked like virtual reality had a trip in the physical realm. It didn't even feel like they were in Aether City anymore, let alone the Headquarters building. Desmond could only begin to speculate as he looked at the text filled walls. Of course, there was the faint thought that this might be a Nexus all on it's own. It doesn't seem likely, but then again, these Nexuses, and everything that's in them, can exist in Anti-Space, where nothing else should exist. Maybe it's not as far fetched ((I'm not doing the joke...)) as it might seem. Still, it doesn't explain why they're here of all places, or where here even is, or what the hell this thing is. He turns his attention to the creature, kind of examining it, but not really looking interested. Kinda looks like a Porygon, except more round and a bit crazier, with it's head separate from it's body and all. Maybe it's an evolution? Does Porygon have an evolution? ...Okay, now he was curious. He cautiously takes a step forward, somewhat surprised that the circle around him moved with him. Ignoring that, he took a better look at the creature. Still couldn't make heads or tails of what exactly it was, though. He eventually gave up on that and went back to looking around... for about a second. He sighed. "Alright, I give up. Where are we and why exactly are we here?" -

Fine by me. That'd be weird if it actually behaved like a cat. Well, aside from trying to pounce on it's enemy anyway. I can't imagine what a 400 pound cat shaped golem would do to your floor if it jumped down from up high. Chances are, it won't be good. Nor would it be good if it slept on your lap. Or if... Never mind, you get it. Direct control and all that. Just the way I like it. Glad we could clear that up.- 79 replies

So basically just keep your summons limited to simple stuff like humanoid golems, four legged creatures like dogs and cats, especially cats, and possibly birds (which I probably won't even do unless the situation directly calls for it). Sure, I can deal with that. I wasn't really planning on making anything that went that far outside of realistic boundaries anyway, so no problems here.- 79 replies

[IC] TTG Chapter 3: Gluttony
Komodojoe replied to Shamitako's topic in Unofficial Official RP Club's General
Strider vs. Slumbering Giant The lasers had no chance of missing. They did a decent amount of damage considering the boost in armor. However, that just means that Strider could return that twofold. But that doesn't mean much at the moment, though. Right now, Morgan had to stay on her toes. One false move could put her in a really bad spot, and chances are things would end badly if that happened. So Morgan was still sliding toward the Giant. Actually, she was pretty close to her opponent. She thought about just crashing into her, but between the Giant's laser's and Strider's very own machine guns, she's slowed down a bit. Things would probably end badly if she did that, so that idea is out. The only other thing she could do is stick to the original plan. "System, deactivate the EAS and hold the charge." Command accepted. EAS deactivated. All stats have returned to normal. As soon as those shield dropped, she lit up her jets to stand upright and switch to her shotgun. Then she pointer it right at the arm that the Giant was blocking her shots with, shifted her direction just past that arm so she wouldn't crash into it, and shot it point blank. She would continue heading in this direction for a bit to gain some distance. When Morgan actually started to look at where she was, she found herself behind the Giant, albeit at an angle rather than directly behind. "Hmm..." She thought about what she shoulddo next, or more specifically, whether or not she should use the energy she got from the EAS just yet. -
