  1. Buying all of them scores you an Experience Share, so the surplus of shards are appreciated. If you think about it, it's technically the game giving you hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of items for free (they go for 10k a pop in the one spot you can buy them.)
  2. It's early game. Dunno what you guys were expecting. =x
  3. You continue to meet black youngsters as far as Route 1, the female rangers are dark skinned, and DJ Arclight is pretty explicitly of African descent, but otherwise, nope. I noticed that, too. I believe Arclight is the only presently known famous character that isn't white, light skinned, or a Pokemon.

    Terra RAWR

cha cha real smooth followed by moonwalk exit left and I lost it Terra way too hype

    Shiny? -_-

Got something like 50 in the box - the very first Noibat I ran into was a shiny. If you have a favorite shiny palette (that wasn't changed. The heck at blue Sandslash.... @_@) all it'll take is (reasonable) perseverance to get one.
  6. Terra would too if she was smart enough not to pack Earthquake. Being able to hit flying types/levitaters with ground moves frees up coverage moves and makes the Rotoms a lot less potent.
  7. It would get old exceptionally fast if some asshole showed up every single time you're about to get something useful and battled you for it. A lot of the event Pokemon are happenstance anyway - what, is this person just stalking you the entire game? -There's- an idea for a rival - a Bennet-esque stalker that emulates your team as best they can because they desperately want your attention, only to stop once they realize they're just a creeper and decides to do their own thing to impress you instead. Basically Bennet but focused on you rather than Luna.
  8. Another dragon would be nice. I don't think Goodra's all that good with the limited TM selection and new breeding mechanics. Draglage at the very least would be nice for my Poison monotype.
  9. Alright. Sorry for the barrage of questions, but all of this is really interesting. Last couple for now, at least. Is this approach how pretty much all of the gym leaders (and apparently some of the supporting characters) make it in game? How much say do or did they have about how their character's portrayed?
  10. That's what I meant - these characters were created as kind of stand-in OCs for the Reborn League (I'm guessing they either created their own sprites, or had them made for them), and than they were implemented in game heavily based on these personas. I was wondering if it was Ame or the users themselves who came up with a lot of their backstories, or if it was a mix of the two. And... wow. Not sure if you're joking or being genuine, but this is a very interesting way to honor their memories if you're not.
  11. Since we're on that subject... what's the deal with those? Real people roleplaying as characters? Do they create their sprites and backstories and such?
  12. Cain is so fun and eccentric and yet taken completely seriously by the story besides (even if everyone finds his innuendos a bit much, sometimes.) He's consistently portrayed as one of the strongest, most competent trainers around, despite how outlandish he is, and would be a joke in virtually any other story, so he's very high on my list. Gardevoir is up there because she kind of lends credence to Pokemon being interpreted in different ways in-universe. Are yours just mindless attack drones that do what you say, or distinct characters with their own stories to tell? I like to believe that canonically they're whichever you'd like because examples of both are seen in game.
  13. It's one of the random start up sprites you see, or, at least, I think that's him. I'm right before the Agate Circus and I'm presently leveling up some alt Pokemon so I can adjust if my current team can't handle Sampson, so without spoiling anything that comes after the battle with Strong Guy, is that a canon thing, or just something silly? .... Is that even Ash he's dressed as? It kinda looks like one of his outfits.
  14. Breed-overs are so grindy, though. ;_; Ah well. I guess it does have a nicer physical movepool. And if I can still make Smokey the Bear mad with Flare Blitz I guess that's worth the recoil.
  15. Edit: Yep. He's right. a Rock will block the barrel that has the Ability Capsule in it if you finish the factory event early in the game,
  16. You can find one somewhere in West Peridot, too, before you challenge Julia even. There's something like 2-4 that you can get before 7th Street, but all are hidden. Mash A and/or use the Itemfinder around pretty much every little thing that you suspect might hold an item (which is just about everything, rocks in particular.)
  17. I just discovered the rotating trainers in the Grand Hall. Still not sure I'll be breeding any of these mons in particular, but at least now I have a somewhat reliable way to get the team's levels up + experiment. Guess I'll ask two questions here pertaining to that - When's the earliest the Grand Hall trainers show up? I wanna know when's the earliest I could conceivably train more than just six mons when I start my ep. 14 file. Are all these Pokemon viable up until the present end-game?
  18. You can use it to find the game's Fighting/Dark types. Remember where you met a gang of those earlier?
  19. Alterity by Mewitti is pretty great - it's funny, the art is gorgeous, it's very well written, doesn't sidestep just how ate up the world has to be for something like Pokemon training to be so popular/sustainable, and more. Starts out kinda goofy, but even when the plot proper kicks off it never loses its sense of humor.
  20. On a similar line of thought, I noticed the music will continue uninterrupted if the battle music and field music are set to the same song, only for it to cut off if you run or win a battle (far as I know, this only happens in the Yureyu Power Plant/Shade's gym). Would it be possible to fix that by changing the victory tune to that same song solely for battles won in that area? Or can the victory tune not be situationally changed in RPG Maker?
  21. That Earthquake/Magnitude penalty is kind of ridiculous, though at that point it's fairly difficult to have Earthquake anyway. That Skuntank and Drapion she will inevitably pack are going to be a pain. I wonder if/how Kiki will take advantage of the free Sand ability activation? Sandslash can pretty much sweep her team after a Swords Dance boost or two, so I might train another one if I start a third file for Ep .14.
  22. Ran into a shiny Pinsir while trying to clear the woods out. -_-Kinda wish something could be done about that, but ah well. To be on topic(er), are the Pinsir and Heracross that are catchable close to the same level the fighting ones are?
  23. Until there's a better way to grind introduced to the game, I'm not real big on the idea of breeding moves onto mons. That being said, I'd like to know what the's best I can hope for with this team and no egg moves. I just beat the Ice gym leader and the team is in its late 40s now: Greninja: Water Pulse, Smack Down, Shadow Sneak, Substitute Sandslash: Earthquake, Fury Cutter, Swords Dance, Dig Arcanine: Heat Wave, Fire Fang, Crunch, Extreme Speed Helioptle: Parabolic Charge, Thunder Wave, Bulldoze, Volt Switch Noivern: Air Slash, Roost, Super Fang, Boom Burst Venomoth: Quiver Dance, Sleep Powder, Psybeam, Bug Buzz Noivern I already have plans for, and I know a few come into their own with level up moves, but I'm a bit worried Greninja will only excel with TM moves that not be available, since he's starting to lag behind a bit in terms of raw power.
  24. Will this mean you can swap between all the appearances, and just these two in E.14?
  25. Or, better yet, is Zero considered a female personality? Eve and Lumi certainly sound like female names, but Zero is very neutral. Typically it's associated with males in fiction, but who's to say that's universal?
