  1. Thanks! And as for Garchomp, I set up on his Scizor by having Hemlock the Eelektross use six coils, then wiped the floor with Garchomp by having Hemlock use crunch. Anyway... Update #32: Bug Zapper Well, aside from his Heracross, Bennett was actually pretty anticlimactic. I led with Amethyst, and he led with his ace, Larvesta. Larvesta hit Amethyst with a flame charge, but got paralyzed by her static, allowing her to tank a zen headbutt in stride and take the Larvesta down with a single power gem! Up next came the aforementioned Heracross, and it used earthquake, causing the field to shatter, knocking Amethyst out. I sent out Hemlock next, but she fainted from a rock slide and a close combat before she could do anything other than set up a coil. I decided that enough was enough and sent out my new ace up my sleeve: Elise the Heliolisk! And yes, that's a Sonic '06 reference. She managed to outspeed it and end it with a single thunderbolt, and then tanked a bug bite from Bennett's Scyther to end it with another thunderbolt! By this point she was kind of dinged up, though, so I had her use parabolic charge on Bennett's newly sent out Butterfree to restore some lost health. Unfortunately, Butterfree then used giga drain, leaving Elise with a net loss of health, so I just said "screw it" and took it down with a thunderbolt. Vivillion, too went down to a thunderbolt, leaving only Bennett's Venomoth. I swapped out Elise for TimTim, who whiffed a metal sound while Venomoth injured him with a bug buzz. He managed to land a metal sound the next turn... but not before Venomoth set up a quiver dance, doing serious damage to him with a bug buzz while he used discharge. Bennett then tried stalling for time by healing Venomoth back to full health with two berry ice creams while TimTim just kept spamming discharge, but then Bennett decided to take TimTim down with another bug buzz. Luckily, Commander the Badass Fish was able to swoop in and take Venomoth down with two discharges, making Bennett use up his last berry ice cream in the process! With that over with, it's time to take on Serra... later, because today's actually my birthday! Yay! So uh, once the festivities are over I'll post the update for the Serra battle, 'kay? Good. The team so far:
  2. Update #31: Sirius Satellite Radio Totally not sponsored by them or anything Well, Sirius was... something. Seriously, the fight went by relatively quickly, at least compared to Aya. I... think I did well... anyway, I led with Amethyst, Cain led with Nidoking, and Sirius led with Hitmontop and Chandelure. Chandelure and Hitmontop did massive damage to Nidoking and a little damage to Amethyst with a heat wave and a sucker punch, respectively, but they both survived and Nidoking fired off a shadow ball while Amethyst turned the field into an electric terrain. Unfortunately, Chandelure took out Nidoking with an energy ball while Hitmontop took down Amethyst with a high jump kick. I sent out Hemlock next, but she went down from an energy ball and a high jump kick before she could even attack; luckily, Cain's Samurott was able to take down the dreaded Chanddelure with a mighty razor shell, ending it! Up next came Sirius' Manectric, and I sent out Kamina. Kamina tanked a fire fang and took down Hitmontop with a single acrobatics, and Samurott set up a dig. Kamina tanked another fire fang and tried to take out Sirius' newly-sent-out ace (Seviper) with an electro ball, but Manectic absorbed it with a lighningrod because I'm an idiot and forgot it had that. (sigh) Oh well. Anyway, Kamina went down to a poison fang, but Samurott was able to seriously weaken it with a dig. Sirius then spent his next turn healing Manectric, and TimTim came out, tanked an aqua tail from Seviper, and helped Samurott injure Manectir with a mirror shot to complement Samurott's razor shell. TimTim got slammed by a fire fang the next turn, but he survived and fired off a mirror shot that helped take down Manectirc alongside Samurott's razor shell (Seviper only aimed for Samurott, rather than go for the kill on TimTim because HEY LOOK A SQUIRREL)! Sirius sent out his Probopass, but before TimTim could take it out Seviper took him out with a night slash. Luckily, Samurott was able to do massive damage to the Probopass with a dig, and Commander (who came out to replace his fallen friend) took it down with a bubble beam! Sirius, meanwhile, swapped out his Seviper for his Honchkrow, and sent his Seviper back out when his Probopass fell. Honchkrow took down Samurott with a brave bird, but Commander (after tanking a critical-hit night slash) managed to paralyze the Honchkrow with a thunder wave! Cain sent out his Muk next, and Commander managed to take down Honchkrow with a discharge after tanking a poison fang. Cain's Muk then tanked an aqua tail and ended the Seviper with a mighty ice punch, ending the fight! Let's get out of here and explore the Adventurine Region! The team so far:
  3. I think I'll evolve you into a Magnezone. The extra bulk will be much appreciated, especially without Eviolite in the game yet. Hey, thanks! I'm naming my whole team after members of the community, just to show support for the hardcore mono-type runners. Thanks! It really came down to the wire, but I think I did quite well. Truth be told, I had never gotten past the Nidoqueen before TEH URN, so I was just kind of winging it at that point. Anyway... Update #30: WHY ISN'T THERE A "SPARE" BUTTON IN POKEMON?! Well, I feel a little bad for doing this, but I beat Mr. Bigglesworth. I led with Kamina and Solarance, and his gang led with the two Trubbish. Kamina took down the first Trubbish down with an acrobatics, and Solarance seriously weakened the second Trubbish with a thunder punch before taking some damage from an acid spray. Out came Mr. Bigglesworth... and then everything began to go to hell. Mr. Bigglesworth took Solarance down instantly with a gunk shot, and although Kamina was able to paralyze him with a nuzzle his Trubbish minion poisoned him with a sludge bomb. I sent out Amethyst, and while she set up an electric terrain and Kamina got off an acrobatics Trubbish slightly dented Amethyst with a sludge bomb and Mr. Bigglesworth finished off Kamina with a drain punch. Out came Commander, and he did a little damage with a bubble beam while Amethyst did some serious damage with a discharge; unfortunately, Mr. Bigglesworth managed to take Amethyst down with a gunk shot. I sent out TimTim, and while he unleashed a discharge Commander confused Mr. Bigglesworth with a confuse ray, then fainted from a gunk shot. All that I had left was Hemlock and TimTim, but I managed to pull through, taking Mr. Bigglesworth down with two mirror shots and a coil-boosted wild charge! With Mr. Bigglesworth down and the TM for Venoshock gained, it's time to take on Sirius... after I test the Misdreavus event, of course. The team so far:
  4. Nice job! As for the poll, I know he's not a leader but the Mt. Pyrous Solaris fight was my favorite battle so far...
  5. Oh trust me, I'm prepared for Terra. I'm also roughly halfway through the game. In fact, I just beat Hard mode Solaris with a single Pokemon! Thanks for the advice, though. Without further ado... Update #29: Aya The Hurricane UUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. Aya was INSANE. For somebody who didn't really want to fight, she really gave me a run for my money! Anyway, on TEH URN, I led with Kamina and AnimeFg, and Aya led with Nidoqueen and Tentaquil Tentacruel. Kamina managed to land a mighty acrobatics on Nidoqueen, but AnimeFg fainted from a muddy water and an earth power before he could get off a single attack. I sent out Hemlock next, and while Kamina damaged Nidoqueen with an acrobatics and was then promptly annihilated by a crunch and a sludge wave, Hemlock the slayer of legends was able to KO Nidoqueen with a crunch of her own! Up next came Aya's Gengar, and I sent out TimTim the Magneton. Hemlock fainted from a critical-hit shadow ball, but TimTim was able to dodge a muddy water and do some damage to Tentacruel with a mirror shot. I then sent out Commander the Badass Fish... and that's when the battle started to turn in my favor. In a nutshell, TimTim began to spam discharge, and Commander set up a confuse ray and fired off a bubble beam onto Gengar, taking it down and (in the process) both paralyzing Tentacruel and making Aya use up her first ultra potion! Up next came Aya's ace: Dragalge. Commander confused and paralyzed it, and TimTim began dealing chip damage with discharge. Luckily, Aya used her last ultra potion on Tentacruel, and Tentacruel's feeble attempts to land a muddy water only slightly hurt Commander (TimTim dodged it entirely). Dragalge did manage to land a few hits with a hydro pump on TimTim and a sludge wave on Commander, but they both survived and took out Tentacruel! Up next came Aya's Drapion, and it took TimTim down with a night slash, but Commander was able to paralyze it with a thunder wave. Amethyst came out, and while Commander confused Drapion with a confuse ray, Amethyst tanked a hydro pump and set up an electric terrain! Commander set up another confuse ray of Dragalge, and Amethyst managed to survive a night slash and do massive damage with a discharge! Commander then sacrificed his turn to heal Amethyst with a berry ice cream, and she then took down both Dragalge and Drapion with a mighty discharge! All that remained was Aya's obligatory mega: Mega Venusaur. Commander fainted almost instantly from a power whip, but Amethyst was able to set up a cotton guard twice, set up another electric terrain, and take the Venusaur down with a few mighty power gems! After her defeat, Aya has a bit of a mental breakdown... but unlike Corey and Kiki, she actually has the decency to give Tesla the Venom badge! Time to save those kids! The team so far:
  6. Thanks! And sure, I'll check out Misdreavus. You might also want to fix the TM for secret power; last I checked, it gave me rock smash instead. Without further ado... Update #28: Your Best Nightmare Well, Fern was probably even harder than Cain. Seriously, it was like his entire team was designed to counter a mono-electric team! Anyway, on TEH URN, I led with Red_Chaos and he led with Ferrothorn. Red_Chaos did massive damage to it with a flame burst, and Fern, rather than wipe Red_Chaos off the map with a gyro ball or a power whip, used leech seed instead, giving her enough time to KO it with a flame burst! Up next came Fern's Krookodile, and I sent out Hemlock. Hemlock tried setting up the maximum amount of coils, but Krookodile managed to land a lucky critical hit crunch while Hemlock was setting up, leading to her defeat. Luckily, Commander the Badass Fish was able to come out and do massive damage with two bubble beams while tanking weakened earthquakes (seriously, Commander, you might want to remove that move), taking it down! Up next came Fern's Mega Sceptile, and I sent out Amethyst. She took some serious damage from a leaf blade on her first turn out, but lived and set up two cotton guards, making any more damage that Sceptile tried to do to her trivial while she took it down with a few power gems, making Fern use up his chocolate ice cream in the process! Up next came Fern's toughest Pokemon: Serperior. Seriously, if that thing set up one leaf storm, it was all over. I sent out Kamina, and he tanked a giga drain and paralyzed Serperior with a nuzzle. He then survived a dragon pulse with 45 HP left and KO'd Serperior with two acrobatics! Up next came Fern's Scizor, so I sent out Red_Chaos again, and she did massive damage to it with a flame burst; sadly, she fainted from a bug bite that same turn. Kamina came back out, and managed to take it down with an acrobatics, then survive a hidden power from Fern's Roserade with just three HP remaining to end it with a mighty acrobatics! Onward to Aya! The team so far:
  7. Well, somebody managed to beat Madame X with a NFE team in Pokemon Rejuvenation, so I guess anything's possible...
  8. Thanks! That pun gave me physical pain, though... Anyway... Update #27: Am I My Sister's Keeper? Well, Cain was a right pain in the arse. I had to cheat a little to even beat him! On TEH URN, I led with Kamina, and he led with Venomoth. Kamina tanked a bug buzz and did massive damage with an acrobatics, ending it. Up next came Cain's Muk, so I sent out one of our newer team members: TimTim the Magneton. TimTim tanked two ice punches, set up two metal sounds, and unleashed a mighty discharge, immobilizing the Muk from paralysis! Cain then wasted a turn healing Muk, allowing TimTim to take him down with another discharge! Then came what was by far his most difficult Pokemon: Nidoking. I sent Kamina back out, and he got off a single acrobatics before fainting to an ice beam. Now, here's the weird thing about Cain's Nidoking: its life orb doesn't activate if it uses a move that is affected by sheer force; because of this, it didn't take damage from ice beam. Anyway, I sent out Hemlock, slayer of legends, and she just barely survived a sludge wave with eight hit points to do some damage with a crunch. Nidoking used ice beam, but I switched Hemlock out for TimTim, who took the blow for her. Cain then used up his other chocolate ice cream while I healed Hemlock and TimTim with a berry ice cream each. TimTim then just barely survived an earthquake thanks to sturdy, giving mme just enough time to revive Kamina with a revive (which was the cheating I mentioned at the start of this post. He came out and fainted again from an ice beam, but not before doing some serious damage with an acrobatics. Commander swooped in and survived a sludge wave, and almost KO'd Nidoking with a bubble beam; fortunately, Cain got stupid and KO'd Nidoking from life orb recoil by having it take down Commander with a superpower. With Nidoking down, I sent out Solarance and Cain sent out Samurott. All it had time to do was miss a razor shell before Solarance took it down with two mighty discharges! Cain's Gengar came out next, and it took out Solarance with two sludge bombs, although Solarance was able to do some damage to it with a discharge. Hemlock came back out and tanked a shadow ball, then did massive damage with a crunch, ending the Gengar and leaving only Cain's Weezing! I sent out Kamina (who I had once again revived with a revive while Cain took down Solarance), and he paralyzed Weezing with a nuzzle before fainting to a flamethrower. Luckily, Amethyst was able to come out and got a free turn to set up an electric terrain, then tanked a flamethrower to end the Weezing with two mighty discharges! With Cain defeated and the key to the wasteland obtained, it's time to make our way to Aya! The team so far:
  9. Update #26: Defy the Legends, Part 1: Hemlock's Triumphant Revival Holy Hell, I did it. I defeated Solaris. It took me hours, but I beat hard mode Solaris... WITH ONLY ONE POKEMON. Yes, that's right, ONE: Hemlock, now a fully-evolved Eelektross. One Pokemon was all I needed, apparently. On TEH URN (epic battle music for our fight here), I led with Hemlock, and Solaris led with Scizor. I had Hemlock set up six coils, boosting her attack and defense to astronomical levels, while Scizor kept pummeling her with x-scissors, superpowers, and bullet punches. She survived (with some help from berry ice creams), and took out the low-defensed Scizor with a single crunch! Up next came Solaris' ace: Garchomp. Hemlock tanked a dragon rush in stride and did massive damage with a crunch, then unleashed a second crunch while Solaris healed Garchomp with a full restore. However, by this point, Hemlock was pretty dinged up, so I healed her with a berry ice cream, allowing her to tank a stone edge. Garchomp used a dragon rush, but missed, allowing Hemlock to KO it with one more crunch! I wasn't out of the woods yet, though; Solaris sent out his Gyrados next, but it went down fast to a thunderbolt after only getting off a dragon dance. Up next came Solaris' Tyranitar; unfortunately, Hemlock got overleveled by this point, so it was now a struggle of getting her to obey me long enough to take down Solaris. She flinched from a rock slide on Tyranitar's first turn, but then almost took it down with a wild charge; this was probably for the best, though, as Hemlock was left with just one hit point after recoil and sandstorm damage. I quickly healed her up with a hyper potion, and Solaris healed Tyranitar with a full restore. Hemlock flinched from a rock slide the next turn, but then managed to land a crunch... which actually did surprisingly little damage! Tyranitar set up a dragon dance while Hemlock disobeyed me, and then got off a superpower while Hemlock got off a thunderbolt. I healed Hemlock again the next turn with an ultra potion, allowing her to tank a rock slide; by this point the sandstorm subsided, so all I had to do was land one OH MY GOD, HEMLOCK, STOP LOAFING AROUND. (cough) Um, anyway, Hemlock slacked off for two turns, but that's okay, because she managed to end the Tyranitar with a wild charge the third turn, with 29 hit points remaining! Up next came what was probably Solaris' most challenging Pokemon for me (ironically enough, it was the weakest level-wise): Excadrill. Seriously, if I gave it an inch, it would sweep my whole team with earthquakes. Luckily, thanks to levitate, Hemlock was immune to those shenanigans, so it resorted to using x-scissor while I healed Hemlock with a berry ice cream. After two x-scissors from Excadrill, Hemlock got tired of it and wiped the floor with it using a single crunch! All that remained was Solaris' Mandibuzz. It badly poisoned Hemlock with a toxic, but then missed an air slash, allowing Hemlock to take it down with a wild charge, finishing off Solaris' entire team! ...And then Solaris kills Kiki anyway. Um, is it just me, or does Solaris seem kind of childish? I mean, he attacked Amaria when he realized he couldn't stop our invasion of the factory, he killed Kiki when she tried to stop his plans, he pinned all the blame of Kiki's death on Cal, there's an awkward pause from him after you beat him, and he still acts like the leader even though Lin's technically higher up than him... I foresee a major villainous breakdown for him in the future... The team so far:
  10. Hey! Sorry for the lack of updates; I've been playing The Binding Of Isaac: Afterbirth, as well as getting the team ready for the throwdown with Solaris. But I digress... Update #25: Observation Assault Well, the battles at the observation center weren't too bad; they were pretty close, but I think they went pretty well. For the Aster and Eclipse rematch, I led with Zumi and Commander, and Aster and Eclipse led with Solrock and Lunatone. Lunatone went down fast to a crunch and a bubble beam, and Zumi managed to tank a stone edge from Sorlock pretty well. Aster sent out his Rhypherior, and Commander targeted it with a (admittedly weakened thanks to its Passho Berry) bubble beaam while Zumi targeted Solrock with a crunch and Rhypherior and Solrock both targeted Commander with a rock blast and a stone edge. Aster tried healing Rhypherior with an ultra potion, but Commander took it down almost instantly with a mighty bubble beam, and Solrock fainted from a crunch. Sadly, both Zumi and Commander fainted from Aster and Eclipse's Magmortar and Electivire, leading to me sending out AnimeFg and Amethyst. AnimeFg whiffed a mud bomb but tanked a heat wave while Amethyst dodged said heat wave and dented Magmortar with a power gem; Electivire, meanwhile, set up a light screen. Electivire damaged AnimeFg with a cross chop, but he survived and smacked it back with a mud bomb; Amethyst, meanwhile, did some damage with a power gem and tanked a thunderbolt, which landed as a critical hit but still did pitifully little damage. Eclipse used her ultra potion on Magmortar, but it was promptly smacked down with a power gem while Electivire and AnimeFg both missed their attacks. I spent AnimeFg's turn healing him while Amethyst got off another power gem and tanked a heat wave. Unfortunately, she fainted the next turn to a cross chop and a heat wave, but AnimeFg was at least able to get off a mud bomb on Electivire. Red_Chaos came out next, and spent her turn healing AnimeFg while AnimeFg missed a mud bomb and tanked a psychic; Red_Chaos got hit by a thunderbolt, but this actually just raised her special attack. AnimeFg managed to end the Electivire with a mud bomb while Red_Chaos took Electivire down with a discharge! All that remained was Eclipse's Milotic, but it went down fast to a discharge and a thunderbolt, only getting off a blizzard that didn't even KO anybody! Taka, likewise, was tough, but I think it went pretty well. I led with Red_Chaos, and although she got confused by a swagger from Taka's lead (Klefki), she managed to not only not hit herself, but take it down with two flame bursts! Up next came Taka's toughest Pokemon for me: his Aerodactyl. I tried having Commander take it on, but he flinched from one rock slide and fainted from another. AnimeFg came out next, and despite flinching from one rock slide, managed to land a muddy water after getting hit with another one. Taka used up both of his ultra potions, but AnimeFg managed to hold on and took it down with few mighty muddy waters! Up next came Taka's Huntail, who I sent Zumi out for. Zumi charged twice (stupid clumsy fingers) while Huntail got off a ice fang, a rain dance and a sucker punch; Zumi held on; however, and took it down with a mighty thunder fang! Up next came Taka's Gliscor, so I sent the weakened AnimeFg back out. Despite being incredibly weak from his tussle with Aerodactyl, he not only managed to tank a night slash, but paralyzed it thanks to static, allowing it to finish it off with a muddy water! Up next came Taka's Cradily, but Solarance came out, tanked a giga drain and an ancientpower, and took it down with three low kicks! All that remained was Taka's ace, Chatot; it took down Solarance with a boomburst, but Amethyst was able to clip its wings with two thunder waves (the first one failed to paralyze it thanks to its lum berry), then finished it with a discharge! Time to get ready for Freddy Solaris! I am so not looking foward to him... The team so far:
  11. Hush has got to be one of the most disturbing enemies in any video game I've ever played. For those who don't know what I'm talking about:http://bindingofisaacrebirth.gamepedia.com/Hush

  12. HOLY S#@%, ENDING 17 OF THE BINDING OF ISAAC AFTERBIRTH. JESUS CHRIST, MAN.

    1. Sutoratosu

      Sutoratosu

      that's the whole idea, bro.

    2. Raindrop Valkyrie

      Raindrop Valkyrie

Considering what the other endings are... I'll paaaaaaaass.

  13. Excuse me while I spend the next month or so playing The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth.

  14. Update #24: Stupid Recording Software Uh... heh heh... so, something funny happened... I've been recording me fighting each of the major battles, and then I've been playing it back and typing up what I see... except this time... I forgot to start recording until I actually defeated Kiki... so, uh, yeah. Anyway, the fight was kind of tough, but mainly because of that freaking Medicham. It would outspeed and KO my whole team once it mega evolved, but I eventually beat it by abusing its lower speed prior to mega evolving by having Kamina paralyze it with a nuzzle and then KO it with an acrobatics. Other noteworthy Pokemon that gave me trouble were her Hitmonlee (which was eventually taken down by paralyzing it with AnimeFg's static, then having Amethyst go in for the kill once AnimeFg fainted) and Lucario (I paralyzed it with Commander, then spammed discharge until it fainted). Machamp was a joke (Kamina KO'd it with one acrobatics) and Scrafty and Toxicroak were uneventful (they went down to discharge spam). So, uh, sorry, guys. I'll try to go into more detail on the Aster and Eclipse fight. Sorry. The team so far:
  15. Hey, don't get jealous, Commander; you're pulling your weight on the team, too. Don't worry, though; I haven't forgotten about Hemlock the Tynamo. I'll be dusting her off soon for Solaris. Yeah, the reason it took me three more bubble beams was because Cal used an ultra potion. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. Hopefully it wasn't too narmy. Also, yeah, Stunfisk is pretty awesome. Seriously, after how well he did in the Cal battle, I'm planning on giving him a spot on the rotation! But I digress... Update #23: Fighting of the Spirit Well, Victoria was kind of hard, but mainly because of that freaking Mega Gallade. Seriously, if I gave it half the chance, it would wipe out my whole team! Anyway, on TEH URN, I led with Kamina, and she led with Scrafty. Kamina paralyzed the Scrafty with a nuzzle, taking a little damage from the Scrafty's rocky helmet in the process; this left the Scrafty immobilized. Kamina then unleashed a few electro balls, while Scrafty set up a dragon dance and got off a high jump kick; luckily, Kamina survived and finished off the Scrafty, making Victoria waste all of her chocolate ice creams in the process. Up next was Victoria's Poliwrath, so I swapped out for Amethyst. Amethyst tanked two life orb-boosted waterfalls, paralyzed it with a thunder wave, set up an electric terrain, and unleashed a mighty discharge, ending the Poliwrath! However, she was pretty dinged up at this point, so I swapped her out for Kamina while Victoria sent out Heracross. Heracross went down fast to an acrobatics from Kamina; the poor thing never had a chance. Anyway, up next came Victoria's ace, Emboar, so I sent out Commander the Badass Fish. Commander took heavy damage from a superpower, but survived and paralyzed the Emboar with a thunder wave, then unleashed a bubble beam. Victoria, rather than let her precious Emboar faint from another bubble beam, swapped out Emboar for Hariyama, which took a bubble beam meant for Emboar. Thinking quickly, I had Commander paralyze and confuse the Hariyama, then fire off two discharges. Luckily, the Hariyama kept hurting itself in confusion, ending itself! Emboar came back out, and although it managed to knock Commander to only 9 HP with a sucker punch, Commander still lived and took it down with a bubble beam! Up next came the aforementioned most difficult Pokemon: Mega Gallade. I sacrificed Commander to a night slash to heal Kamina with a berry ice cream, and then sent Kamina out. He managed to survive a psycho cut with 22 HP, allowing him to paralyze the Gallade and take it down with a mighty acrobatics! With Victoria defeated, she begrudgingly allows Tesla to fight Kiki! Here goes nothing... The team so far:
  16. I got the Electabuzz from my mystery egg. And yeah, I'll try to give Dragon116 a little more screen time. Glad to hear you're happy! Anyway... Update #22: It's Getting Hot in Here Well, Cal was a little tricky, but I think the fight against him went pretty well. I led with Kamina, and he led with Infernape. Infernape did serious damage with a fire punch, but Kamina held on with 12 HP and KO'd it with an acrobatics! Up next came Cal's Typhlosion. It set up a sunny day while Kamina set up a nuzzle, and then after Kamina did massive damage with an electro ball it fired off a flamethrower, taking the poor flying squirrel down. I sent out Solarance next, and thanks to paralysis he was able to land a low kick and two discharges without retribution, ending the Typhlosion and making Cal use up his first ultra potion! Up next came Cal's ace: Magmortar. Commander tanked a blast burn with tons of health to spare, then set up a parafusion combo and got off a discharge. Despite being paralyzed and confused, the Magmortar was able to fire off another blast burn, but Commander held on and fired off two bubble beams, which did massive damage despite the field weakening them! Magmortar still survived, though, and tried to finish Commander off with a focus blast... but missed! This allowed Commander to end the Magmortar with three more bubble beams and confusion damage, and Cal even used up his other ultra potion in the process! Up next came Cal's obligatory mega: Mega Charizard. I sent out Amethyst, and she tanked a fire fang to clip its wings with a thunder wave, then did massive damage with a power gem before fainting to a second fire fang. Solarance swooped in and did massive damage with a low kick, ending the Charizard! Out next came Cal's Delphox, so I sent out Red_Chaos, but the poor thing fainted from a critical-hit psyshock before she could get off a single attack. I then decided to play my Donald trump card: AnimeFg the Stunfisk! AnimeFg tanked two shadow balls and did massive damage with two mud bombs, but the Cal switched Delphox out for his Blaziken for some reason. Fortunately, AnimeFg tanked a fire punch from the Blaziken and took it down with two mud bombs! Delphox came back out, so I sent out Sloarance again, and he tanked a mystical fire to end the Delphox with a discharge! Time to get that HM for Strength! The team so far:
  17. Yeah, I do love nuzzle. I mean, it's got an 100% chance to paralyze; what's not to love? Anyway... Update #21: Quit Muking With Me Well, ZEL were a pain in the butt, but I managed to beat them with some difficulty. I led with Red_Chaos, and they led with Glaceon. While it set up a barrier, I had Red_Chaos use flame burst, which actually landed a critical hit! I then had Red_Chaos use flame burst two more times while ZEL healed Glaceon with an ultra potion. She then tanked an ice beam with just two hit points remaining and, while ZEL used their other ultra potion on Glaceon, finished it off with a flame burst and a discharge! Up next came ZEL's Flareon, so I sent out Commander. Flareon got off an iron tail, but Commander was able to get off the ol' parafusion combo, causing it to hurt itself in confusion! He then managed to do a little damage with a discharge, but Flareon used dig, so I switched out for Kamina... not that it mattered, since Flareon just hurt itself out of confusion anyway. Kamina finished off the Flareon with an acrobatics, and out came ZEL's Jolteon. I swapped out to Commander, and he tanked a hyper voice and set up a confuse ray. A struggle of bubble beams and signal beams then ensued, and after a few turns Commander got knocked down to the red with a hyper voice, so I spent a turn healing him with a berry ice cream. Luckily, Jolteon hurt itself out of confusion that turn, knocking itself out! Up next came the keystone of ZEL's team: the PULSE Muk! Commander managed to confuse and paralyze it, but the Muk took him down with two mud bombs. I sent Kamina back out, and he managed to do massive damage with two acrobatics while the Muk injured itself from confusion. Kamina then got slammed and welcomed to the jam with a discharge, but he held on with just 9 hit points to KO the Muk with an acrobatics! Up next came what was arguably the most difficult Pokemon for me to deal with: ZEL's Espeon. I sent out Zumi, but she was only able to get off a single crunch (which, admittedly, did almost KO it) before fainting to two psychics. Kamina came back out, but he too fainted from a psychic. I sent Amethyst out next, and luckily ZEL randomly decided to use reflect instead of going for the KO, allowing Amethyst to take it down with a power gem! Up last was ZEL's most annoying Pokemon: Umbreon. After getting confused and hurting herself (allowing the Umbreon to set up a double team), Amethyst set up an electric terrain, and promptly hurt herself in confusion again. Fortunately, although she injured herself in confusion once again the next turn, the Umbreon hit her with a feint attack and got paralyzed! This allowed her to outspeed it and get off two discharges; sadly, the Umbreon just healed back the damage with a moonlight and got off a feint attack. It didn't really matter, though, as Amethyst was able to KO it with another discharge, ending the fight! With the lake seemingly saved (spoilers: it's not just yet), it's time to get the HM for strength! The team so far:
  18. Update #20: Turn The Lights On Well, Shade was a close fight, but I think it went pretty well! I led with Commander the Badass Fish, and Shade led with a Gengar... named Corey... JUST LIKE THAT GUY WHOSE BODY HE CLEANED UP! (gasp) and then I became skeleton and wrote this Anyway, Commander tanked a shadow ball with about half of his health left, paralyzed him with a thunder wave, and confused it with a confuse ray. He then did massive damage to it with a discharge, tanked another shadow ball, and got off a bubble beam before fainting to another shadow ball. I sent out Red_Chaos next, and she did serious damage with a few bites while tanking a dazzling gleam. Shade then suddenly switched his Gengar out for his Trevenant, so I had Red_Chaos smack it with a flame burst; sadly, it still survived, and Red_Chaos fainted to a bulldoze. I sent out Kamina next, and she did massive damage to the Trevenant with an acrobatics, taking it down! Corey came back out, but he too fainted from an acrobatics. Up next came Shade's Mega Banette. I had Kamina paralyze it with a nuzzle, but he took massive damage from a sucker punch. Luckily, he survived and paralyzed it with a nuzzle, then healed back his health with two roosts while Banette spammed (and failed) sucker punch. He then took the Banette down with a critical-hit, field-boosted electro ball! Up next came Shade's Dusknoir, and even though Kamina was overleveled I kept him on the field anyway. After disobeying me once, he tanked a brick break and landed a nuzzle before getting off an electro ball; unfortunately, he then was seriously injured by a payback. The stubborn little flying squirrel refused to obey me, and as a result fainted from another payback. I sent out Zumi, and she managed to set up a charge and tank a brick break to end the Dusknoir with a thunder fang! Up next came Shade's Aegislash. Zumi accidentally hit a King's Shield and got her attack lowered, so I quickly switched her out for Solarance, who managed to survive a shadow sneak with 43 HP and unleashed a thunder punch, doing massive damage and paralyzing the Aegislash before fainting. Zumi came back out, and got off a bite... that was promptly blocked by a king's shield. (sigh) Anyway, I swapped Zumi out for Amethyst, and Shade (surprisingly) swapped Aegislash out for his Chandelure! Amethyst managed to tank two energy balls with just nine HP, and took it down with two power gems! All that remained was Shade's weakened Aegislash, which went down fast to a bite from Zumi, ending the fight! And so, Tesla earns the Omen Badge... and watches his new friends get kidnapped by Team Meteor. Poor kid can't catch a break. The team so far:
  19. Update #19: Where's Your Kyogre Now? Well, I took a quick detour from the whole Orphanage-breakout thing to defeat Archer, and he actually wasn't all that bad! Sure, he had a couple powerful Pokemon, but they went down kinda fast. Anyway, on TEH URN, I led with Solarance, and he led with Mightyena. He got slammed by a play rough, but retaliated with a discharge, paralyzing the Mightyena! Sadly, he fainted the next turn from a poison fang, but Kamina was able to swoop in and make Archer use up his two berry ice creams before ending the Mightyena with two acrobatics and an energy ball! Up next came Archer's ace- Mega Sharpedo! I kept Kamina on the field, and he just barely survived an aqua jet with four hit points left to paralyze the Sharpedo with a nuzzle! I then had him use an electro ball, which almost (but not quite) KO'd the Sharpedo, and expected the worst as it used ice fang... but then it missed! This gave Kamina enough time to finish it off with one last electro ball! Up next came Archer's Octillery. Kamina, unfortunately, got overleveled by defeating Sharpedo, so he disobeyed me and promptly got shot down by an ice beam. Out next came Commander, who tanked an ice beam and a gunk shot to paralyze and confuse the Octillery. He was, however, poisoned by the gunk shot, but he lived and was able to last long enough to tank a signal beam and end the Octillery with two discharges... before fainting to poison. (sigh) Oh well. Anyway, out next came Archer's Politoed, while I sent out Zumi. Zumi took massive damage from a scald while she set up a charge, but inexplicably, rather than go for the kill with another scald, it used psychic... which Zumi survived (with eight HP, no less!), allowing her to retaliate with a thunder fang, frying the frog. Up next came Archer's Crobat, so I switched the weakened Zumi out for Red_Chaos. Red_Chaos did massive damage with a discharge, but received massive damage in return from a cross poison. I expected Crobat to KO her the next turn, and so had her spend her turn healing Zumi... but then Crobat used acrobatics, leaving her with just one hit point! She then fired off a discharge, but for some inexplicable reason Archer swapped out to his Blastoise, which took the brunt of the attack instead. It didn't get any attacks off, though; it went down the next turn from a lucky critical hit from Red_Chaos. Needless to say, I swapped Red_Chaos out for Amethyst, and she tanked a cross poison to end the fight with a discharge! Time to get back on track! The team so far:
  20. Thanks for the feedback! Good luck on your run, and remind me to name a Stunfisk after you. Anyway... Update #18: Seven-fold URRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH. Cain was BRUTAL. Seriously, he had so many things that could wipe the floor with me if I so much as blinked at it the wrong way. Anyway, on TEH URN (and after grinding everybody up to level 38), I led with Solarance, and Cain led with Samurott. Solarance managed to tank a razor shell and took the Samurott dowwn with two discharges, making Cain use up his first super potion in the process. Cain then decided to send out his ace, Nidoking, and I sent out Commander. Commander took massive damage from a sludge wave, but survived and set up a confuse ray. Nidoking hurt itself, allowing Commander to do massive damage with a bubblebeam. Cain tried healing it with his other super potion, but it just injured itself in confusion, and Commander took it down with two more bubblebeams. Up next came Cain's Muk, destroyer of worlds, and I sent out Amethyst. Sadly, she fainted before she could do any damage, but she was able to set up an electric terrain. Solarance swooped in and did some damage with a thunder punch, but fainted from a poison jab in the very same turn. Kamina came out afterwards, and he managed to set up a nuzzle, tank a shadow sneak, and do serious damage with an electro ball, but fainted from an ice punch. I quickly sent out Zumi, and she managed to end the Muk with a thunder fang. Up next came Cain's Venomoth. I sent out Red_Chaos, and she got off a flame burst, but took serious damage from a signal beam. Since she wasn't able to outspeed the Venomoth and I knew she wouldn't last another turn, I had her quickly heal Commander before she fainted. Commander then came out swinging, negating a tailwind from Venomoth by setting up a thunder wave, then confusing it with a confuse ray and doing massive damage with two discharges, ending the Venomoth! All that remained was Cain's Haunter, so I sent out Zumi again. She managed to tank a shadow ball and get off a bite, but I knew she wouldn't survive a second shadow ball. I switched her out for Commander again, and he took a shadow ball meant for Zumi. He survived, and spent his last turn conscious healing Zumi before fainting to a sludge bomb. Zumi came back out, and tanked a sludge bomb to end the fight with one last bite! Unfortunately, I don't get the key because Cain runs off after Heather, even though it would have taken him ALL OF TWO SECONDS TO GIVE IT TO ME ARRRRRRRGGGGHHHHHOMO<MIGBYO<>MMMGYYINNMGM^ (cough) Um, sorry. Anyway, after him! The team so far:
  21. ...I didn't realize that. Oops. Anyway, don't worry about being benched; you had a good run, and I might name a second Pokemon after you. Anyway... Update #17: Your Best Friend Well, Fern was overall pretty easy, but his Roserade and his Ferrothorn could sweep my whole team if left unchecked. On TEH URN, I led with our newest team member, Solarance the Electabuzz, and he led with his racist caricature Ludicolo. Solarance managed to outspeed Ludicolo and paralyze it with a discharge, immobilizing it. He then went on to spam discharge, and between paralysis and Fern shoving super potions down its gullet, it only managed to get off one scald before fainting. Up next came Fern's Sceptile, so I sent out our MVP this battle: Kamina the Emolga. Kamina tanked a leaf storm, paralyzed it with a nuzzle, and did massive damage with an acrobatics, ending it! Fern sent out his Serperior next, and it also took massive damage from an acrobatics; however, it was able to do some serious damage with an aqua tail, so I swapped Kamina out for Solarance, who lasted long enough to heal Kamina with a chocolate ice cream before fainting to two aqua tails. Kamina came back out, and he was able to end the Serperior with an acrobatics! Fern finally decided to send out the big guns: his Roserade. Roserade did massive damage with an extrasensory, but Kamina held onn with 40 HP and took it down with a single acrobatics (and yes, I know that sounded underwhelming, but if I gave that thing an inch it would wipe the floor with my whole team)! All that remained was Fern's arguably strongest Pokemon: Ferrothorn. Kamina fired off two acrobatics while it set up a curse, but ultimately fainted from a gyro ball. I sent out Red_Chaos next, and she managed to survive a gyro ball and end both the Ferrothorn and the fight with two flame bursts! Time to go visit Cain and see if he could give us the key! The team so far:
  22. Update #16: Ghost in the Shelly Well, Shelly was actually kind of easy! I led with Commander and Red_Chaos, and Shelly led with Masquerain and Illumise. Illumise hit Commander with a confuse ray, which caused him to injure himself, and Masquerain managed to land an air slash on Red_Chaos, but Red_Chaos was able to light up the field with a mighty flame burst! Shelly spent her next turn healing Illumise, and Red_Chaos let loose a discharge that hit everybody on the field (healing Commander in the process, as suggested by the real Commander), and Commander the Badass Fish paralyzed Masquerain with a thunder wave, immobilizing it. Despite Shelly's efforts to heal Illumise with an ultra potion, Rec_Chaos took it down with a mighty field-boosted flame burst, ending the Illumise! Masquerain then went down to an electro ball, prompting Shelly to send out her Armaldo and Heather the Yanmega. Heather and Armaldo managed to work together to take down poor Red_Chaos before she could attack, but Commander was fortunately able to paralyze Heather with a thunder wave. I sent out Kamina the Emolga next, and he managed to do massive damage with an acrobactics to Armaldo, but fainted that same turn from a rock slide by that very Armaldo. Commander survived, though, and did serious damage to Heather with an electro ball. I sent out Amethyst to replace Kamina, and she managed to set up an electric terrain while Commander took down Heather with an electro ball; he was then taken down himself by a bug bite from Armaldo. Out came Zumi to replace him, and she managed to one-shot Shelly's newly-sent-out Vespiquen with a single thunder fang; sadly, Amethyst became overleveled and failed to obey me, and Armaldo did some serious damage to both of my Pokemon with a bulldoze. Shelly then played her trump card: Bugsy the Volbeat! ...who was promptly KO'd by a thunder fang from Zumi and a power gem from Amethyst. Bravo, Shelly. And yes I know I shouldn't be insulting a twelve-year-old girl who just watched a man die in front of her but who cares All that remained was the Armaldo, and it (after getting off an aqua jet and another bulldoze) fainted from a power gem/thunder fang combo, ending the fight! With Shelly defeated, it's time to go report Corey's death to the police! The team so far:
  23. Update #15: Pyrrhic Victoria Well, once I made a couple adjustments to my team, Victoria wasn't all that bad! I led with Kamina the Emolga, and she led with Scraggy. Despite getting his attack lowered by Scraggy's intimidate, he did massive damage with an acrobatics, tanked a high jump kick, and healed back most of the damage with a roost while Victoria healed Scraggy with a super potion. Kamina then ended the Scraggy with a mighty acrobatics, leading to Victoria sending out her Gallade. Gallade set up a swords dance, but Kamina managed to do serious damage to it with an acrobatics, and then took it down with one more acrobatics after Victoria futilely tried to heal Gallade with a super potion. Out next came Victoria's Poliwrath, and I sent out Red_Chaos, who managed to tank a payback and took the stunted tadpole down with two discharges! Up next came Victoria's Hariyama, and it failed to set up a belly drum while Kamina took it down to the red with an acrobatics, then ended the Hariyama with another acrobatics. Commander came out to take Kamina's place, and Victoria sent out her ace and most problematic Pokemon: Emboar. Emboar did massive damage with a brick break, but Commander the Baddass Fish managed to hang on long enough to dent to Emboar's health with a bubble beam. I sent Zumi out next, and while it set up a bulk up Zumi set up a charge, then tanked a brick break and did massive damage with a thunder fang; sadly, this activated Emboar's Salac berry, allowing it to KO Zumi with a heat crash. Out next came Dragon116, and even with the speed boost Emboar was still slower than him, allowing him to paralyze the Emboar with a thunder wave. Unfortunately, he fainted from a sucker punch before he could end the fight, but Amethyst once again proved herself useful and KO'd the Emboar with a mighty power gem, ending the fight and earning me the right to challenge Shelly! Onward! The team so far:
