"Yowchie~" Klaren wasn't expecting that Luka would just go and pull back on his band, letting it loose onto his poor head. Not that it mattered, it was a friendly gesture. Probably. And Luka was just inspecting the object as detailed as he could. Klaren, however, shook his head at Luka inquiry. "No, I've actually never been to Caelum and it sounds pretty exciting to go to a desert, especially as a group~" Klaren nodded. "We could build sandcastles together and push each other into sandpits, hehe~" -

Klaren was now really confused. What began with Equis honestly pointing him in Luka's direction... was it possible it was a misunderstanding of a sorts? Perhaps Equis saw it wrong, then. Or maybe Luka had something to hide~? The way his eyes flew all over the place was definitely suspicious. As all this rushed through Klaren's head, he didn't even notice how close to Luka he'd pushed his face, one brow raised and inspecting. "A slowly blossoming friendship? Do you mean the two of us~? Because I think we're totally awesome friends already, hehe." Klaren straightened himself out again. "Okay then, if you didn't need me, then I'll need you~ Say, what do you think of the headband?" The monk pointed at his forehead and smiled. "I think it's really neat and it's gonna soak up all the sweat in the desert, so I'll be free to have fun investigating~" -

Klaren giggled and placed a hand over his mouth. "No, Lou. The real question is did you need something~?" Equis wouldn't have lied to him, most definitely not. So it was only natural to assume Luka was really glancing over to him during the whole debate thingy and looking-at-journal thingy. "You were looking my way, weren't you?" -

"Oh, oh, Lou's been glancing here?" Klaren burst out, turning his head around to try and catch a glimpse of the dancer giving him 'the look'. When Klaren saw the guy, he didn't seem to be looking over... Slightly confused, the monk turned back to Equis, only to find that he'd gone over to Rosalyva and Meredith. "Aww. Well, I'll show them to him some other day, then. I gotta take care of Lou first!" Klaren waved at Luka. "Hey, Lou! Heey!" -

"Mhm~" Klaren smiled earnestly. He seemed excited that Equis liked it. Honestly, he was sort of worried he would have reacted the same as his father did when he showed him volume 58, but those doubts seemed to have been unfounded. "The one you're holding is fairly new, so there's not much inside. But if you'd like to see more, I have several of my favourite copies with myself here! Ooooh, maybe I should write about them in my journal next, since they're my favourites~" He happily continued as he began shuffling through his robes by his magic tome, looking for the small journals. "Let's see... volume 17, 31, 78 and 90. Where could they be hiding~?" He waved at Mayanna in the meantime when he felt her gaze graze him. -

"You mean I'll fall into a sandpit? Ooooh~! That would be an experience to write about!" The monk giggled while his thoughts drifted to a scene of him disappearing beneath the sand, which slowly trickled into his robes and eventually, into him as well, and he choked on it and mmmm... Until Meredith's big strong hand came from above and swooped him up, riding a wyvern of her own. Ooooh, or a very brawny pegasus. It'd have to be a special steed to be worthy of Meredith's glory~ Klaren's daydreaming was cut short by Equis's request, though. Without much debate, Klaren handed him the journal. There was a big fat number 119 written on it. "Of course I don't mind, Q~ We're friends." If the young wyvern tamer were to be so brave as to open the book at the last written page-the very same Klaren was just scribbling into, he'd see that there was an entire section dedicated to Meredith. Klaren seemed to refer to her as 'miss Merryberry' even in written format and it seemed to be a series of observations made by the monk on the topic of the fierce soldier. Like her height and what he imagined would be under her armor (incidentally, he imagined she wore a black bikini trimmed with red beneath it) and a newly added paragraph regarding the mysterious history which pained her so. While it was all very unusual... there was certainly a tone of respect Klaren's writing carried as he spoke of 'miss Merryberry'. The pages prior to the Meredith section (which was actually quite long, at least a dozen pages) contained the descriptions of weapons that Klaren had apparently, quote on quote 'experienced' during the last battle. Before that was a description of the prison, riddled with fantasies Klaren wrote about being strapped in there and how he hoped that the place used to be some sort of torture chamber and how it smelled yucki and how Luka, refered to as 'Lou' threw him the keys when he got tangled up in the chains. This was all weird, but again, the monk spoke highly of 'Lou' and pretty much everyone else in their group, including Mayanna, or 'miss Maya' and Equis as well, mentioned in the book near the description of the wyverns as just 'Q' and mentioned respectfully, given thanks as he allowed him to see the wyverns for real. Klaren would look at Equis with expectatious eyes. "Soo~ What do you think? It's the 119th volume of all the things I love very very much about the world." -

Klaren followed his proposition with a hand gesture. You know, with wiggly fingers, both hands towards Meredith, threatening to touch the hell out of her rigid armor. He didn't seem to catch on that the discontent in that tiny remark made by Mayanna was directed at his display, nah, he only flashed her a wide and innocent grin. He didn't think he'd done nothing wrong. Or well, he was enjoying the freedom the world offered, probably too much so. Who could blame him when first times were always so fun, and it was his first time going to Caelum. And the first time in a desert. Granted, it would be his first time going to Yukihana as well, but there he wouldn't be able to see Meredith without her armor and on sand, like a real beach~ He'd never been to a beach either. And he'd never seen Meredith without her armor. Such a strong woman would be a blessing! Smaller than the Goddess's blessing, but a blessing nonetheless. He was pretty much excited at the very thought of it. The monk gave a smile at Equis. "Oh, but I'm with you guys, so there no chance for me to get lost, right~? Someone would find me eventually. Like you, for example, with your wyvern." It was almost stupefying, the brainless smile he wore as he pointed a finger at Equis. On the bright side, though, at least that meant he'd seized the whole wiggly finger thing and had now put his hands down on his sides, in the pockets of his robe, from where he quickly pulled out his notebook and scribbled something inside. The juice he was getting on Meredith was getting better and better. She was even more awesome than what he initially thought~ And she clearly felt bad about what she'd done. Such a noble spirit, no wonder her disposition was so immense! Oh, if only she'd agree to show him a bit of her spear-work~ That would be just awesomely awesomelicious! -

"But miss Merryberry, deserts are great and fun and like a beach but without a sea~!" Klaren bounced in with a bit of wit straight after Rosalyva made an actually constructive comment/question. "And if you can't move well, then you should just strip down that armor of yours~" -

"Oooooh!" Klaren suddenly popped up. Were they gonna go to the desert? That would be kind of cool (yowch the pun~), and definitely better than some winter wonderland. They mages were better equipped than most for traversing such terrain~ Even as such, in the heat, Klaren would definitely have to make a few minor modifications. "There, better~" The monk exclaimed most excitedly after loosening up his robe's collar and tying up a band over his forehead. His hair was still gonna be a nuisance in the heat, but he wasn't looking forward to cutting it, so he wasn't going to~ Simply simple. "I vote desert~" -

"Being taken in under the Goddess's grace is magic in and out of itself for a young acolyte in training~" Klaren clapped his hands happily. "And Light magic is that very same grace taken shape and form through a devout's faith~ So yes, it's easy to pick up, but, as Ferrin said, they're holy scriptures and there's a lot more to them than you could ever comprehend, even if the magic does look simple at first glance~" Klaren turned to Terrin as he heard him make the final remark. "Hmm, thank you for saying that~! But not really, Teri. The Church is really strict." Klaren giggled as he kept talking. "After all, they did kick me out as soon as they found out what sort of activities I was really into~" -

"May the very same light illuminate the path before us~" Klaren followed the mention of the Goddess's light. "And our enemies as well, of course." He added before chuckling. Speaking of, apparently they were talking about how they both started magic and he was to join in. Very well then~! Klaren put a finger on his nose and looked up to reminisce. "Let's see~ I suppose it all began in my father's- I mean, my former father's library, tee hee. Like, we had all sorts of books in there, including the tomes telling of the Goddess and we also followed the customs of the church anyways, so when the time came around, quite early, of course, one of the options was the holy calling, so I entered the order as an acolyte~ It didn't bother me at all, 'cause I'd read all of the Goddess and the tales inspired me. And besides, you just have to have faith in order to grasp the Goddess's light~ -

The monk's fingers carefully felt their way down Terrin's strangely well-built shoulder muscle physique. The mage was shorter than him so it was kind of funny to poke his eyes over Terrin's head to look at the other mage he was introducing. His fingers having now found the way off Terrin's shoulders, Klaren formed an 'oh' with his lips as he wiggled by and moved over to extend a hand to Feri. "Oooh, I see~!" Magic wasn't that fun of a topic, really. It'd be way better if they were discussing, hmm... oh, yes, impaling or something very very painful. Still, Klaren kept his joyful disposition as there was really nothing to get frustrated over. "Pleased to meet you, new person. I'm the, how did you say~? Oh right, token monk of this group, Klaren~" Yes Klaren was the name reserved for friends only but all of them were friends by default, now weren't they? If Feri were to try and return the shake, Klaren would pull it back quickly and smile, but then accept it because a little jokey joke never hurt anyone~ -

The monk waddled around the camp, taking in the sights around. His demeanor implied he wasn't a teeny tiny bit awestruck by the speech the princess gave, but that was probably because he was, well, Klaren, and Klaren could be a very indescernable person at times. All the rejections he'd suffered atfter that last battle seemed to have washed away and his spirit was back up and ready to do more of, well, Klareney things. And so, that very same Klaren, who was just minding himself walking around, seemed to smell the fact he was mentioned, because, as Terrin and Feri both finished their speeches, he popped up behind Terrin all of a sudden and placed his hands on the mage's shoulders, peeking over his shoulder. Now, was Terring taller or shorter than him~? It'd be fun to find out. Klaren was bit under 180 cm, quite a thin and tallish individual, looking kind of lankily streched in his visage, and painfully pale, the earrings in his one exposed ear contrasting against the sun above. His arms beneath his robes were wrapped up, but that was old news. It was the same since he'd joined the little edgily-named group, he'd always had them and anyone who knew him even a bit would be able to guess why~~~ "Pee-ka-boo~!" The monk said playfully. "Hee-hee, did I maybe hear you maybe mention maybe me or maybe mmmmmmmm~?" -
[IC] TTG Chapter 2: Lust

Mommo - Do something characterizing that doesn't involve anyone else (1 point) Time was ticking painfully slowly. Like, really painfully. The rate at which Mommo swung her legs beneath the table was gradually picking up with each passing minute until it was a wonder the chair hadn't yet rolled over from it. Yet the HUD remained silent and Mommo's unspoken prayers unanswered. Worst of all, another person seemed to enter the cart and sit at the table. Gosh, wasn't it a big yet small table if it was designed to hold the maximum of 'all of them' yet fit into this train. Still, Mommo only as much as lazily raised her eyebrow at the newcomer. Whether they were the HUNTER was all she really wanted to see. However, in this moment of weakness, this moment where she let her guard and focus down to look up from her HUD, the smell of food finally hit her and she realized that, most likely courtesy of the larger amount of physical activities she had been forced to indulge herself in lately, that her daily-tailored nutritional regiment wasn't holding up anymore as well as it used to. In simple terms, her stomach growled. Well, more like roared, and her usually pale complexion was suddenly overwhelmed with spots of red blushes as she hopped out of her chair, nearly dropping the HUD, in a mixture of confusion and embarassment, gripping her guts and just feeling how they rumbled inside. Mommo rushed over to get some food almost immediately after glancing at both of the other's faces. She returned with a plate full of reddish stakes (app. 4 or 5 of them in a pile, it would be nigh impossible to tell) which flavoured an aroma so thick yet so tempting she couldn't resist. The girl raised her head to meet the others but failed to utter any of the threats she'd been coming up with as she picked the food. They just sort of stuck before reaching her lips, so she instead blushed even more and dug in, dumbsturkc by her display of incompetence. And by dug in, I mean stab three of them on a single fork and start gnawing at them all like that. Very apetizing. "Slurp-nyurp-glurp..." -

"Mhm~ Everybody here is great, I love them all already." Klaren placed his hands together as he chirped and they walked. He put away the journal now, somewhere into the depths of his robe. "Like you, miss Merryberry, oh, and miss Maya too. I don't have to read all the time to pass the time, there's always something happening~ And that's good 'cause I can't really carry around a lot of books with me on the battlefield. Usually just my tome and my journal~ So yep, I don't really intend on dying. Don't worry. Klaren finished with a short laugh. Talking to Luka was kind of fun~ He'd mever have guessed it would be~ -

Even if Luka had sighed, Klaren probably wouldn't have had noticed. This way, though, however, made it feel like they were smile buddies, hehe. And the smile on his face only grew wider when Luka mentioned walking together. "Mhm, I'd love if we could walk back together, Lou. Oh, and it's not really secretive~ Like, I recorded the prison we saw and I recorded the wyverns right now. I've only ever seen them from afar or in the books in my father's library. This was very very exciting. You can read it if you'd like~" The monk appeared rather laid back about this journal of his and he'd actually give it to Luka if he wanted. It was just that, if Luka did take it, he'd come across some very unusual and precise notes inside next to all of the entries which kind of did border on his initial assumption on the book being Klaren's personal fantasies. Heh. "I've been keeping journals since I was a little boy." Klaren continued joyfully. "It always helped me pass the time when I found myself alone~" -

"Hmm? Oh, Lou!" Klaren seemed startled by the dancer's sudden appearance. To say the least, he wasn'z used to people actually approaching him. It was usually always the other way around. The confusion only grew when the boy asked about the notebook. Klaren smiled and held it in front of himself with both hands, almost in a proud fashion, apparently accepting the company. "This is my journal~I record all the things I like in it!" -

Klaren didn't react right away. He followed the wyverns with his eyes and kept scribbling down until Equis entered his visual range to calm the wyvern down. Klaren gave him a confused look, putting his hands down and halting. "Oh, you're leaving?" He asked. "That's too bad... I was hoping to get a better look at the wyverns..." He said, extending his hand towards the wyvern Equis had mentioned almost instinctively. Even wonder what a wyvern's bite felt like~? Oooh, and what about all the other things she could do to him~! And a healer was nearby as well. This situation couldn't be much better... But he stopped himself and slumped his shoulders. Maybe it was the same feeling like during the fight when Meredith ignored him. Or maybe when she ignored him again now. And Equis and Mayanna weren't gonna keep him company. He almost wanted to go find Hoshiko, but he would feel too bad if he were to disturb her time in prayer. "A-allright then. I didn't know I was interrupting..." The Monk glanced away for a moment before reforming the smile on his face that had faltered, replaced by a disappointed sad face. "Mmm, I'll go, then. Bye, miss Maya. Bye, Equee. Bye, wyverns." Klaren waved and let them leave. Now he didn't have much else to do. And his frownie mood continued... "Hmm..." -

"Mhm~" Klaren giggled. "I'm always careful, don't worry, I don't want to die~ Klaren waved Mayanna goodbye. "Bye, miss Maya~" She seemed to be doing something with Equis and those wyverns. No wait, wyverns~! Faced with the realisation, instead of walking away, Klaren moved to the background, circling around Mayanna and Equis and closer to the wyverns and pulled a pen out of his robe. Opening his journal, he began scribbling something down while continually glancing over at the wyverns. He gave a thumbs up to the duo as if to tell them not to mind him before moving on with his work. -

"Oh, but you're such a great nun, miss Maya! Even on the battlefield! You run around and heal us all the time! We're all very grateful, I'm sure and I got nothing to fear~" Klaren began after making sure his tummy was fine once again, before Maya could turn away. Speaking of, he didn't seem to notice her unwillingness and retained his playful vigor. He waved at Equis over Mayanna's shoulder before focusing once again on her. "I had a friend like you before~ She was a great nun as well, she never complained when she had to take care of me and my wounds, and that was a lot, hee hee. She was really nice to me, yep. I'm really glad I got to meet you too, miss Maya. Thanksies~" Klaren seemed to reminisce for a moment as he spoke, pulling out his journal and placing it on his chest wearing the same smile as always, only a bit more blisful.
