"U-uhm, Hoshiko! Wait up, I'm sorry..." Klaren sighed as he watched the girl trample away. He didn't mean to upset her...well, at least not this much. But he really seemed to strike the chord. She was damn upset now! "...I suppose it wasn't right to mock her..." Klaren's shoulder somehow slumped even lower. "Mmmm... I'll have to apologize the next time I see her! Yep! That should give me an opportunity to talk to her again too! Just you wait, Koko, I'll show you what I've got!" The monk exclaimed eagerly as he opened up his journal on a page adorned with the title 'Koko'.

"Ah- Patrolling. How silly of me not to realize that~" Klaren played in with the archer's lil' white lie. She was so obviously not patrolling, one wouldn't even need her great eyesight to see it from a mile away! The monk just had to giggle at this thought. "You mean this journal~?" Klaren pulled out the small book, smiling. "Well, I was counting on getting some material from you, but you seem to be doing boring UNHEROIC everyday stuff so I'm pretty disappointed and am not gonna write anything! You know, here I was really hoping I could write about your heroic exploits for the generations to come, but you're just meditating and patrolling around camp... Nobody wants to read or write history books about people patrolling camps!" Klaren raised an eyebrow after theatrically swinging his arms around disappointedly, his shoulders slumping as low as they'd go.

Why does Serene get a chance to touch Merryberry's lance before I dooooooooooooooooo????????? Agh-------------------

"I can't do that, Koko. It's beyond my power to call you by your actual name, especially since you're a friend before you're a hero of justice! And, like, there's not many nicknames I could have come up with for 'Hoshiko', so be glad it's 'Koko' and not something like 'Shiko'~ Also, for instance, you call me 'Klaren' because we're friends. How is that any different~? Maybe you should start calling me by my actual name before making any silly requests like that~" The man giggled. Hoshiko was funny. How had he never noticed that~? "Oh, but I am carving artwork, Koko~ In whose honor though, that's the question~ Still, it doesn't undermine my faith in the Goddess, I'll have you know! Just as I'll have you know that 'you know' is my catchphrase, you know!" Klaren had to raise an eyebrow at Hoshiko's attempt to shoo him away. "So you're saying walking around in circles aimlessly is a heroic endeavour? Or were you meditating~? That's weird in a really cute way, Koko~ But do tell what you've actually been up to. Now you've interested me~"

"Oh, right, meditation!" Putting his hands together, Klaren returned the girl's flat look with a smile. "I'm sure I do it kind of differently from you, though. Mine usually involves knives~ Oh, but you have a knife too. Ah the implications~" He giggled. It certainly felt relaxing to just have some fun after that thing that happened earlier. Terrin's words have really managed to shift his mood at the time and afterwards he'd thought further on it. He wasn't gonna let their beach episode go to waste! If anything, he should try to be twice- no, thrice as perky as usual to lighten the mood for everybody to just have fun!!! "Is it wrong that I call you that? I could call you Kokiko if you don't like Koko, of course~ Then it would be like Hoshiko but with 'K's~~~"

"Oooh, wow Koko! That was one heck of a backflip~ Bravo!" Klaren clapped his hands, completely and utterly unfazed by the knife being drawn at him. "Oh like, and I wouldn't worry about stabbing me~ It'd be an accident, no harm done! Besides, I just had to come up and stop you before you escaped, you know. You have a tendncy to do that." The monk smiled at the archer, a mischievous grin of a child enjoying a forbidden candy. Yet it wasn't candy he was enjoying-it was the fact he got her now. Only fair to announce it, aye~? "I got you now-so tell me where you keep going after battle or I'll be forced to take drastic measures, hee~"

Last time around, there was a certain other character which peaked Klaren's interest. This pink-haired girl which was so fanatical about the Goddess and kept going a bit away from the camp after battle-he'd said he'd follow her after the next battle, which was now. Except she wasn't going out of the camp, just like, marching around. Ooooh, maybe that's what she always did, but now their increasing friendship had gotten her to the point where she didn't have to be shy about it around people. That totally made sense! Besides, the fact they were still at camp made it less work to sneak up on her... "Pee-ka-boo!" Klaren suddenly jumped out from behind one of the tents right in front of Hoshiko, shouting into her face with a happy smile on his face.

"Oh, oh, shopping with friends! Imma get this and that and some more of this... oooh, and another one of that..!" (*** Blessed Iron for that warding shidazzle ***) - also, I'm slowly running out of ammo with my Lightning, lol "Now miss Maya won't have to take extra special care of me anymore, tee-hee~" (p.s. I'd take the ominously suspiciously displayed horse-murderer tome but we're going to the desert. Y'know, where riders can't do crap.)

"Wow, that's mean, Teri, hee-hee~" Klaren giggled at the joke. "And, uhm, thanks for listening to me~ People don't do that quite often. I don't wanna take any more of your time and I need to think a bit about things, so I'll see you later~" With an eased heart, Klaren waved Terrin goodbye and went on his way.

"I...don't understand..." Klaren had been prepared to take a metaphorical beating, but instead, he got comforted... As much as it felt nice, it confused him, ticked him the wrong way, as they say. But he didn't want to focus on that thought. Instead, he wanted to accept what Terrin was saying, even if it didn't want to sit properly with him yet. He also couldn't seem to be able to force a smile, despite her eager attempts. "It wasn't nice at all... I thought it would be something I could put into my journal...but it wasn't. I don't wanna feel like this, Teri... And I thought maybe I could try something about the crystal with my magic, but everyone was ready to destroy it... C-can't we just go to the desert and have fun..?"

Hmm? So Terrin hadn't been the nicest to him in the past? Klaren hadn't noticed. He always thought everyone was being nice to everyone in their little party. They were all friends, after all~ He listened to the mage voicing his concern. Klaren didn't want to bother him or anything... And Terrin'd definitely think how sick or bad or weird he was if he told him the truth, but he also didn't want to lie... Ugh, this was hard... Every time he tried thinking about his feeling while not surfing on a wave of enthusiasm he got so confused and it was difficult to talk to people... "Mmm. It's not that...it's just that..." Klaren began but got stuck mid-way. "I mean... I feel bad...for maybe...wanting to see something like this..." He was ready to get washed now. Like he'd already been multiple times in his life.

"Ah-" Klaren looked at Terrin surprisedly. His hand swiftly retracted from his tome, though he seemed to lower his guard once he saw who was calling him. "O-oh, it's just Teri... Hi." There was none of the usual chirp the monk's voice carried in his words now and he glanced over at the building once more before answering. "I'm fine..." It was a lie, and a pretty blatant one. Even if Terrin failed to notice how Klaren kept glancing around all the time, he would still notice how nervously he kept squeezing one of his forearms with his other hand. "..."

"Uhm..." Klaren wanted to say something about the crystal. Maybe they could have it react differently by exposing it to their magic or staves... But he didn't say anything. This was too serious for him and he wasn't feeling right anymore. Especially with miss Maya so determined on ending this. He still did put a hand to his tome and backed away from the church, eyes locked on the crystal in the distance...

"Phewiey~" Klaren let out a sigh of relief as the mysterious... uhm, cloaked body of fire? came down. Not that he was worried they were in any real danger. Nah. He was just relieved he could finally stop waving his tome around above his head to try and provoke the thing. It was kind of tiring after he'd just been brought down himself and then brought back again. The monk looked around to see where Mayanna went. "Oh, so she's looking into the church~ Told you she was a great nun, yup I have~ Miss Mayaaaa- Huh?" He could swirl over to her as cheerfully as he wanted, but when he actually got there, his attention was brought to the inside of the church. "Y-yuck..." The grotesque image of the pile of bodies was enough to calm Klaren down almost instantly. His thoughts went back to how he was perversly looking forward to finding some of the villagers' bodies before this battle...he didn't mean it like this... "Miss Maya... I don't like this..." He muttered quietly, taking a step back behind the nun. These people had families and stuff, right? Unlike him, they would be missed. Other people would get sad. And for what? A new body for that fireball thingie? War was pretty common, so it was normal for people to die in it. But this... Even ignoring the fact the bodies had been assembled inside of a holy sanctum, this was worse than that. And even worse was that he'd been hoping to see the villagers in pain when they found them. Here, he got what he'd wanted...

"U-uhm... Could I stop getting more Resistance and start getting Defense again instead? Pretty please~"

You two are actually planning this out, aren't you? Also, Pyon, Klaren has Vulnerary (2/3), not full, cuz he'd used it once this fight~

"Oh, right, miss Maya! I'm here for you!" Klaren followed after Mayanna, rather gladly, honestly. So maybe she wasn't mad at him after all, if she was so eagerly asking for his help. Hehe~ He was so getting that kiss back. "Uhm... Bad guy? I'm over here. See, light magic! I'm like, grrr, so for the Goddess and against evil and stuff. You should totally attack me~" Moving to I5 (waving my Light tome above my head to like PROVOKEPROVOKEPROVOKE the evildoer)

Gah, took me way longer than I imagined to think up a species. Well, lol, now I can actually get on to making the character. Expect it in the next couple of days~

Hehehehehe~ I'm pleased with the result. Now then, you guys can do the rest now. I'll assist with taking the badie out when we get to that point. He's in my range anyways.
