  1. I'm still a moderator, but Ame let me choose which title appeared under my name, and I just preferred the green colour of Developer
  2. In Reborn, Forest's Curse and Trick-Or-Treat work similarly to Soak by just replacing the typing, due to limitations of the system, adding third types was infeasible without a lot of work, so the code for Trick-or-Treat and Forest's Curse is more or less identical to that of Soak.
  3. (tl;dr Trevenants were hitting normal types with Phantom Force, but only sometimes, in very specific circumstances, at specific levels, and never when we tried to test it, or with any other pokemon. As it turns out, Trick or Treat and Forest's Curse were applying their type change as long as the move was in the known, even without using it and the problem was being caused in the most unlikely place, the AI of all things. Thanks, I'm Marcello and this has been my TED talk about literally the jankiest fucking bug I have fixed all throughout E18 testing.)
  4. Once upon a time, there was an eager youg Dev going on his merry way to the beta store to buy some bugs. You see, that was his hobby, buying them and fixing them up so they could become the features they always wanted to be. This time, the Dev brought his loyal feature with him to the beta store, her name was 'Stability and proper type effectiveness'. She had always been one of the most important features on the farm. On his way back from the store, a hooded man approached him and asked: "Oh what an interesting feature you have there. Would you be interested in trading
  5. The checks are dates, when we start looking over the bug reports from testing and shift our focus to fixing them, rather than just the fatal ones.

  11. Today, Ame made a puzzle. She wasn't sure if it was solvable. Being the maths nerd that I am, she asked if I would help figure out if and how it could be solved. I couldn't figure it out, so I wrote a program to do it instead. It took the program 3 minutes and 5 million 'moves' to solve the puzzle. We decided to put the puzzle in game. I hope you're all looking forward to E18.
  12. Online Play for reborn is currently down, might be a while (i.e. rest of the day) before we get it up working again, sorry for any inconvenience!

  13. "And so, here goes another very poor idea..." Terrin murmurs to himself, before gulping and running over infront of the bridge, holding his arms out beside him imposingly in an attempt to spook, or at least halt, the cavalier and his horse that was on the bridge, also taking the oppurtunity to shoot a little static out of one of his outstretched arms at the slightly rotting bandit right beside him. Move to B6, Static Unbandit 1
  14. Yo there has been a rash of unavailable mons put onto wondertrade. They're all gone now, I want to reiterate that it's like the only rule of wondertrade and you have to actively try to subvert it, and it's super not cool if you break it. If y'all are gonna show you can't have nice things, we can just take the server offline, don't let it happen again.

For anybody that received one of the pokemon, they aren't harmful to your game, you won't be able to wondertrade them back, but if you wish to keep them it won't cause any problems, and if you don't want to keep them, just release.

Honestly, I'm not surprised by this as I've seen a few instances of this happening already and it's going to keep happening. I don't honestly care either way what happens to online since I don't really use it. I get why people like it as it's technically more genuine, but with the whole "OMG it's so cool to hack Pokemon in" stuff going around it's not like much besides online battling will be lost. Do what you gotta do to not make this stressful Marc.

@Wolfox If the server is taken down, that means all online functions will cease including battling and not just trading. Also, I doubt it's just one person doing it, but it does only take one to ruin something.

the main reason I only mentioned trading is that, to my knowledge, that is the online feature used most and would, from my point of view, be the bigger loss as Showdown is still a thing.

Unless you can somehow prevent unobtainable pokemon to enter the trade, you're not going to prevent shit. Game is free for everyone and not just forum users. No threat about the offline server is going to stop someone who is not even here to read it (who says he or she even cares?).

I'm sure you've got more sense than to 86 the feature you worked hard to create because of this minor thing. I'm glad you care enough to try something but dear me this leads nowhere. Perhaps you're just angry at this moment?

Who the hell wants unobtainables and legendaries anyway? Isn't that the whole point of this game, to play with the best thing you can get? Besides everything will be but in eventually anyway.

By the way having a trade system from the start of the game is also stupid as fuck but that's another matter and my personal opinion.

  15. Or is he? ;););) Enjoy the special limited time Easter Mystery Egg Giveaway! I hope you all find great pokemon!
  16. Terrin looks around and grimaces. "This is a terrible idea, I'm going to take an axe to the face... But we need to stop them from making more undead." He murmured to himself, trying to psyche himself up for what was going to be an incredibly reckless maneuver. Move to A6, Static the Troub
  17. Oh! I completely forgot to add, a big thanks to @Waynolt for letting me adapt some of the scripts from their Egg Picking mod and repurpose them for this. We initially asked to use the scripts from the mod for a totally different purpose, but it turned out to be far more useful as a basis for this system!
  18. I categorically did NOT make this topic purely for the terrible pun in the title. So, I've been slowly but surely fighting the AI to make it work, but this isn't about that. AI, of course, is not the only responsibility I have on Reborn. Sometimes it's important to pay attention to quality of life features. And Gen VII added a few of these which we have yet to catch up to. Well, E18 will come with one of my favourites of those features included: (Get it? BOXING with my responsibilities? Because you can send your pokemon to the box upon getting a new one? :]
  19. Move to B8, Static the bandit, pray to Feri's dead wife that I don't miss and take a short axe to the face
  20. "Well they certainly look... strong." Terrin mused as he got closer to the enemies, but not too much so, he didn't fancy one of those axes in his face. Move to C10.
  21. "I too am glad to have your help, Sol'Fael." Terrin nodded in response to Hoshiko's welcoming, glad that they had at the very least convinced his wives, even if not him, yet. He smirked a bit, before remembering something. "Ah yes, this reminds me. We had a gift we had wished to present to you and your wives at our meeting, but due to the rather abrupt ending, didn't get the oppurtunity to. A historical artifact, we had hoped the three of you would appreciate it and, at the very least, I feel as though such a thing belongs to Caelum, regardless."
  22. "You are welcome, of course. We've come this far, after all. And yes, Lua Magi, well... She was certainly... something. She didn't seem particularly nice, but it was clear she cares about her people, just as you do yours, and is cautious to that extent. She believed us when the much kinder Sol'Fael did not. I hope she can convince both him and the Ignis of the weight to our words." Terrin folded his arms. "It's a shame we were hurried out so quickly that we didn't have a chance to present the gauntlet to them, though. Perhaps I should have offered it up at the start..." He sighed, unsure of hi
