  1. I'm a bit late on this since it took me a whole month to realize that E5 was out since its release but I finally just finished playing through the game from the start including the new content. I definitely enjoyed the episode but I've gotta say the lack of Scarlett screentime/story involvement was a massive disappointment, especially after all these years of waiting. I'm assuming it's because for some people she'd be dead/missing at this point so including her in the story would mean writing 2 branches but we could have gotten at least something more than 2 lines of dialogue. Ah well, maybe next time.

Main story aside, the thing I enjoyed most in this episode were definitely the sidequests. Especially all the ranger stuff including the part with Aderyn. That's the type of stuff I love to see. I'm actually invested in seeing the quest through at this point. Also, Venipede was definitely the right choice for my starter. 70 levels in and it's still OHKO-ing important Pokemon with megahorn in key battles after 1 speed boost.

    Spoiler

    *cough* *cough* Umbreon *cough*

Oh and for the love of God, please reduce the encounter rate for those early game areas. Everything up to the 3rd badge is grass or caves, a Pokemon jumps out every 3 steps and the game doesn't give you nearly enough money to buy the amount of repels required even if you put a repel selling guy outside the cave. It's almost unplayable and I could easily see someone dropping the game over this. Reduce the encounter rate by 80% and give some more money early on would be my advice. Thankfully later it's mostly cities and you can farm repel money in the fight clubs.

Now time to breed my perfect Excadrill and then wait for the next release.

  2. lol at the "huh?" resetting Melia's points to -1 even though she seemed to instantly get it was a joke anyway. I know I selected that at some point but I guess I must have reset the game since I got the 3rd line anyway. Can't remember what I did for half these other ones except the mandatory battles since I definitely won all of them and completed all the side quests. Guess I'll just replay the game at some point if it turns out I missed too many and messed up the story.

Wait a sec.Tbh Does this mean that version 19 will be the last version of reborn? What will happen after it? Will a new game come out? I will miss reborn.Or perhaps a New Region? Please answer.

It's suppose to be the last version although I expect there will be some updates at least for bug fixes and such. After Reborn I guess there's this Starlight Divide thing Ame plans on working on although it seems to be completely unrelated even to Pokemon http://www.rebornevo.com/index.php?/sd/index.html/

So yea, expect it to the done forever after version 19...

And I just casually found a Lopunnite down there in Ame's office behind the bookshelf. Way better than whatever reward they probably give you for completing the sidequest. Thanks.

So in the episode we get access to the basement and beneath there is a scientist asking us to deafeat some pokemon in the wasteland, anyone know where those pokemon are? i've been searching for like 40 min

    Spoiler

Which basement? I found one under the place where Lin captured you and killed Ame and there's a Sudoku puzzle. Is that it or are you talking about somewhere else?

  6. I just finished E18 on my old playthrough without prior relationship points which also ended up going into the Zekrom route. Here's my thoughts on the episode so far in the spoiler tag.

    Spoiler

Regarding the E18 content I've experienced so far, absolutely amazing. As soon as I saw the ??? talking about bug related things, I knew shit was about to go down. Of course Bennett shows up being a badass all of a sudden (I knew it was coming). Then some puzzles, Zero going insane, a few easy battles (okay the double battle was hard but only because half my team was already dead since I didn't think I'd have to battle again without healing after the single battle). After that basically an entire recap of my Reborn journey so far done very artistically with some extra details added in. Like Gardevoir standing behind Radomus at various stages. I very much enjoyed that.

Then finally, after a CLEAN 4 and a half years of waiting, Luna makes her big reappearance to rescue you from the void. Definitely the thing I've been looking forward to most of all. Fuck to the yes basically. After you're out there's a flashback scene where it's revealed that you casually beat Luna along with 2 other gym leaders while you were out of it and that you were being controlled by team Meteor during those battles. So yea, sorry that I'm so OP. I had several years to breed and EV train my team so don't beat yourselves up over it. Oh and Luna went into the void to save you and hasn't come out. I seriously doubt she's dead or anything considering the way she was acting but she might be trapped at worst.

Next there was a bit of team Meteor action, a fair 1v1 battle against Solaris (that Mega-chomp's phys def is stupid), Taka steps in (hey there's 1 reason to battle him but I'll look forward to seeing the other route), Lin does some Lin things and flies off.

Lastly the gym battle. It really wasn't that hard even though my sand rush Excadrill got outsped and OHKOed by Lycanroc early on. Ferrothorn, Garchomp and Rotom-W were the MVPs.

And that's where the episode ends. Right now I'm probably gonna wait for someone to compile all the relationship points for E18 so I can play it on my newer playthrough where I got all the points I wanted. Or if it takes too long I can do it semi blind amd keep a backup. Really interested in seeing whether anything relating to Luna changes if I have all her points (Or am on the Reshiram path) and of course I'm expecting the Meteor confrontation to be very different (Titania will probably be there too).

Lastly I'd just like to thank Ame along with all the other developers, testers and everyone else involved in making Pokemon Reborn. You've done an amazing thing here and have created one of the best Pokemon fangames in existence. This journey has been incredible and I'm sure we will all have mixed feelings of joy and sadness when it inevitably comes to an end. Thank you everyone!

  7. I always thought we shouldn't give up on this game until an official update was posted that it's canceled and it looks like I was vindicated. That's fine, giving out release dates seems to be a huge no no when developing fangames and it's probably for a good reason. Take all the time you need and hopefully many of us will still be around when the next version comes out. Desolation is right up there with Reborn and Rejuvenation as far as I'm concerned so I'll definitely stick around.

The Union ID badge isn't showing up when I use the itemfinder in Chapter 1. Anyone else having this problem?

Can you still collect it? If not, talk to the union worker again after talking to the person who asks you for the ID so he can give you a Pokemon. Then try collecting it again.

That's because the true ending IS a spoiler. You don't need to do the extra bit of the game to finish it, it is an additional bit and therefore it IS a spoiler.

The fact that a true ending exists isn't a spoiler because Jan says it exists in his OP post. The CONTENTS of the true ending would be a spoiler which is why I didn't say anything about them. How to GET the true is not a spoiler because it's just a guide. Simple instructions just like when someone asks where they need to go next because they don't remember some dialogue or where a certain place is.

Also, I wouldn't call it an "extra" part since it says right in the name that it's the TRUE ending. It's the one you're suppose to see to get the full experience.

The most important part however is that the prerequisite is SO random and non intuitive that NOT telling people would be the absurd thing to do. You have to go to a completely random place at a completely random and very SPECIFIC time (half the people who got it by chance didn't even know when exactly they did this) with ZERO in game hints or help.

One way it could have been done is an extra cut scene where Kenneth says something like: "I kinda want to take a break at the beach to gather my thoughts but I probably should be going back to Taelia to let her know what I've found." and maybe another monologue of him thinking about something like his family before saying that it's getting dark. You could make this only appear after you've already gotten the regular ending. Another way is a straight up message at the end of the regular ending telling you that there is another ending and then giving you some hint. It could be like in Kagetsu Tooya where every time you get a bad end they offer you the option to choose between a small hint and a big hint so each player can

play according to their preferences. People who want to run around for 5 hours exploring every area in between every single cut scene can do that and the rest of us can be told where to go, get our ending and move on with our lives. Note that many of us just gave up looking (me after 3 hours) and opted to wait for someone to tell us anyway.

Lastly, that's what spoiler tags are for. If you don't want to be "spoiled", don't open them. Simple. Now I'm done.

    Spoiler

After you get the true ending the game gives you a code to input into the main game in order to get a shiny Riolu. Are you sure you got the true ending? The red haired woman shows up again to explain things to Keta and there's another scene with Aelita in the future right before she sets off on her new journey.

If you saw this and still missed the code you could just load up your save file and get it again but it was posted in the completionist guide thread so you can find it there.

how were you able to trigger the scene of taelia and the bandits?

I guess I'll be the first to just plain post it here since everybody else seems to be avoiding it for some reason. I don't even get why since it's not even a spoiler as it's just telling people where to go in order to proceed with the game. I'll put it in spoiler tags anyway but here's the big mystery solved.

    Spoiler

There are 2 prerequisites for the true ending. You need all 18 Pokemon (14 in by the end of chapter 2 and there is a Gabite in a cave behind the waterfall on the path to the meteor) and to trigger the Taelia scene. To trigger the scene, just walk into the cave west of Taelia's house and then exit it to the north right BEFORE going into her house to find out she's been kidnapped by the bandits. This should be right after you go to the Meteor the first time. When you exit the cave, Kenneth says that it's getting dark and then just play through the story as usual. There are no new scenes other than the one where you rescue her from the bandits until the final ending.

There. If me posting this simple clear and spoiler free (if you played through the regular route) instruction lessens anyone's experience of the game in ANY way then I don't even fucking know. And it's not like the trigger is intuitive or fun to look for by any stretch of the imagination. You're all welcome.

  12. FINALLY got that true ending and I must say, this "side story" is probably the best thing in Pokemon Rejuvenation right now. Or at least the thing I care about the most. It was very much needed and I look forward to seeing where Aelita's journey takes her when before it seemed pretty unimportant. Next I want to replay through the main game and appreciate all the subtle things around Sheridan now.

On that note, where am I suppose to input that code in the main game? I think it said GDC central building but I don't see where I'm suppose to type it in.

after obtaining Empoleon in the cave a trainer blocks my way to go up the ladder

Same thing happened to me. Either let your whole team die to wild Pokemon or restart the game and play from wherever you saved last.

I'm aware of the bug, but the capsule/keys aren't necessary for the true ending. It's an easter egg at best.

    Spoiler

So what am I suppose to do then? I've won all the fights and playing the save file that stays after the regular ending just traps me on the mountain with no choice but to play the same ending again. I am even more confused now if it's not the keys. Please tell me it's not that cuttable tree in the village since I deleted cut from my Scyther 7 hours of gameplay ago and it won't relearn it. Only other thing I can think of is maybe I needed to have that Gallade in my party for the final battle.
