  1. Here's a wild one from ShadyPenguinn....that I think kinda is in the realm of possibility. Lillie is UB-01. Don't know if that's been mentioned before here - but the appearance of the person and the Ultra Beast is uncanny - and it's the first time we're really DEALING with things that are not human -OR- Pokemon in nature. Finally, UB-01 is known to change shape often.
  2. -I- at least have weekends (and I would miss out on night events during most days) Jangmo-o though. Dragon. Nice. Bulletproof. Nice. SOUNDPROOF. NIOCE. Whatcha gon do now Sylveon...MegaVoir.....whatcha gon do. MOONBLAST. pfft.
  3. I....I like Alolan Raticate. (It's ALWAYS looked ugly - don't defend the old one.)

It's a sewer rat. Do you expect it to win beauty pageants?

Unless of course, the contestants are Donald Trump, Squidward and my grandmother.

I just don't like how its abilities are Gluttony/Hustle.

Having Guts would be cool with the STAB Crunch..

  4. I actually think the time shift thing is really neat - and here's why. Some of us can't play the game at certain hours during the day. For example. School. Work. Sleep. I know that's not too much of a gamebreaker - but for a filthy casual like myself who has better things to do than no-life Pokemon - I would like to be able to get the daytime events I miss at night without getting penalized for resetting my DS time (which will happen more likely than not in this game - as ORAS was very finicky about it too) ...I may have to get Moon. Especially because Solgaleo isn't a fire type.
  5. I don't know if you're asking about REI or asking about Nalgene...so I'll cover both. With stores, it's usually about selection and average quality of the products available. It's easy to go pick up a water bottle (Nalgene even) from your local supermarket sometimes, depending on where you live - but at REI, you essentially get access to every make and model of Nalgene out on the market - the only exception being specially marked containers (such as Nalgenes with the logo of a particular summer camp on them) where you have to actually travel to said camp or browse the camp's store on the web to purchase it. It doesn't stop with Nalgene either - because it's a recreational equipment store, meaning if you like another brand like Sigg or Yeti or Camelbak - you can find wide selections of those too. As far as the store is concerned, REI provides bottles that suit your needs and in variety. I know the average person may not think about the kind of bottle they would need, so it's a good question. --- The Nalgene water bottle is akin to the "iPod" in the camping and recreation world. Back in the day it was advertised pretty heavily and the product behind it ....for lack of a better phrase "holds water." Nalgenes were invented originally in the laboratory container industry (you know - beakers, test tubes, the like) out of material known as "polyethylene" - a very light plastic that is surprisingly tough to break and doesn't bleed into whatever the container is holding. In a water bottle, that's helpful because nobody wants their water tasting like plastic. If you look it up on YouTube, Nalgene bottles are often subject to torture in efforts to try and break them. Because they are tough to crack, they are ideal bottles for rigorous climbing and hiking where a broken water bottle is definitely possible. Nalgene also holds a LOT of water despite being deceptively average-sized. This makes it easy to carry around more water than you would think and makes stops to fill up happen less frequently. It can also hold other liquids without retaining taste (as some other liquids do to water bottles) and odor (seriously - water bottles can get REAL smelly) - meaning you just have to wash the liquid out and the nalgene is as good as new. Nalgene's wide-open lid allows you to put ice into the bottle with ease (and there are filters that can be easily put in the bottle to prevent spilling water on yourself if you find that to be problematic) You can also survive temperature drops because even if the frozen water expands (and it is harder to freeze in a Nalgene) it won't break the bottle. - On the other hand, you can actually BOIL water in a Nalgene without damage as well in most cases (wouldn't use an open flame though. Hot water baths, heat mantles, or microwaves are better.) Finally, the design allows for it to be used as storage for other things like food - and the lid doesn't leak. It's just a decent water bottle. While not the cheapest available - 11 USD isn't terrifying.
  6. Amazon frustrates me... I understand it is virtually a one-stop-shop for everything you would ever need - but buying online means stupid things like paying for shipping and hoping your items don't get to you damaged and arrive on time. It also sucks the fun out of the "experience". Browsing the web for things like videos, games, and chatting with people in real time? Excellent, but you don't get to hands-on try products on the web, and you literally miss out on the "wonderland" effect of walking into a store and seeing neat items wall-to-wall. Using REI as an example - I can shop on REI's website MUCH easier than I can travel to the nearest store (a solid hour and a half drive to Austin) - but if I searched up daypacks I would only see daypacks and not get the "wow factor" of seeing kayak and mountain bike equipment on the same floor. For me, REI isn't just go-buy-leave. It's go-browse-explore-wishyoucouldlivethere-buy-leave. And it's amazing. REI also has things like "master classes" like how to repair a bike or how to cook using an open flame, that you don't get the same experience with when you use the internet. I know you were just in jest, Lexi. - I just have bad experiences with Amazon and I really like shopping. ...got a problem with that?
  7. Everyone has a few places that they can't help but either blow way too much money at -or- window shop from open to close. Here's mine: Recreational Equipment, Incorporated - A.K.A "REI" REI is essentially a outdoor sporting goods store - emphasizing more than anything else "Camping" as opposed to things like "hunting". Favorite brands for many people tend to be Gucci, Versace, Rolex to Nike, Oakley, and Adidas. -MY- favorite brands happen to be the likes of Patagonia, North Face, Columbia, and Nalgene depending on the product. Favorite items: WATER BOTTLES - As an avid camper, hiker, former Boy Scout, Summer Camp Counselor, and Recreation Leader - there is no greater blessing than H2O. Particularly if it's cold - and if you're out in the woods and STILL have the access to the Lord's nectar (that's COFFEE, not TEA.....you heathens) - then you want something that keeps it hot too. REI has the WIDEST selection of bottles, tumblers, and camp diningware all the way to Camelbaks and easy-to-store large fluid containers. I don't know why simple drinkware causes me to window-shop...but whatever. BACKPACKS - The neat thing about REI is that they have the most dependable (and on average MOST expensive) packs out there - but they are more than just your typical "Hello Kitty" two pocket pack or your drawstring sack. My favorite invention ever may just be the "day-pack" - a regular backpack sized contraption with MANY more pockets, bells, whistles, and features that allow for easy forest trekking - to urban exploration when hauling things like a laptop to a coffee bar in New York City... They also have your typical drawstring bags - but they have these things up to LUGGAGE and "actual" backpacker packs. - seriously, a whole corner of the first floor of this place is devoted to backpacks. It's great. SWAG - Yep, the place even has threads for men, women, and children here too - with brands that can be pretty hard to find elsewhere. Take for example the "Chacos" - a type of sandal you can identify to quickly find out who in camp is a counselor without even asking a question. Recommended brands-for-items: Water Bottles and Containers - Nalgene, Yeti (Nalgene is MUCH cheaper than Yeti, but Yetis do work.) Packs - REI, Osprey, North Face (REI's packs are just as good as the companies they middleman for.) Clothing - Patagonia, Columbia, REI
  8. I don't know if I was supposed to read that opening post like a run-off sentence, but boy did I get lost. --- Starting with what kind of "trait" a woman has that enraptures me the most - it's moreso paying attention to me and showing genuine concern for my well-being than anything else. I'm not someone who goes around prowling and ogling people because they are physically attractive.. - ... unless they walk into my personal space. --- From there I can identify my favorite physical attributes. Eyes that kill. Hair you can get lost in (sorry those of y'all that like yours short or pinned up) - and bust. There's my answer. As for an explanation, I have what is referred to as a "Lazy Eye" and it's one of the things my optometrist has nightmares over. It's rather advantageous -or- disadvantageous when it comes to observation in this area because it gives me a ready excuse if I get caught looking and it also allows me to somehow keep one eye fixed (accidentally in the case of the eye doing it's own thing and sliding a bit lower - purposely if the lazy eye's job is to make eye-contact) With one's derriere, it's not possible to view as definitively "by accident" - and therefore the gratification I would get from observation is cut short in efforts to go undetected or because I was caught looking WAY lower than anyone should. --- Finally, i'm one of those people that likes having his partner's face in view at all times, and because of the area of the woman's body their chest happens to be in, that's the case with their bust as opposed to praying the woman is a contortionist. Bust over Booty here.#NoFilter.
  9. Ready for a video from the controversial "Christian philosopher" in these parts? Ready or not, here I come. Using that above video - Life is either a gift in all forms - or an incredibly near-impossible mistake. This seemingly designed facet of our universe has driven me to defend the lives of human beings in conjunction with my faith from conception to death. It motivates me because it's a buffer against depression knowing that my life is so improbably chance that there may be meaning attributed to it by someone or something other than myself from the very beginning. The phrase "I live to serve" is almost vanilla by now - but it's so true. I'm loyal almost to a fault. I'm defiant in coming to defense of me, my friends, and my Master - whom I one day hope tells me "well done". --- My philosophy? Regardless of what I believe in, encourage others to THINK about what they believe in. While I would LOVE for everyone I met to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior - the reality of the situation is that I'm not called to make that decision for others - and that other "Christians" are going to say and do things that would counteract my efforts. That doesn't mean I will stand off to the sideline while the atheistic or purely naturalistic schools of thought are represented. I will - as a theist - do philosophy justice and make you think about any and all options and nooks and crannies and absolutely challenge you. If you ARE CERTAIN God does not exist. I won't let you off the hook. That's as definitive as me saying He does. If you are unsure - then I will be there bouncing concepts and ideas with everyone else - in hopes of a fantastic discourse. It's just who I am.
  10. I don't think (or at least I'm not certain about all of Fates' options in order to prevent something like this) you can get around "using" in-chapter story recruitments. That being said, Pyrr can always use them as pair-up bots or have them be expendable enemy phase units...or get them killed off. --- Pyrr - the other thing that will come up is Chapter 15, where the only usable units are Pyrr, Azura, and Gunter. You won't be able to sub those two additional units for other Corrins.
  11. Use me as you see fit. Great Knight offers some movement and while General is just crazy sturdy. --- Oni Savage does promote to Blacksmith.
  12. I don't think you get Sting Shuriken in CQ - but those -are- pretty baller. Ninjas LIVE off of super effective damage...
  13. Update: Sheep Boon/Bane: Robust (+HP)/ Excitable (-Res) Class: Monk Level: 9 Weapon Rank: D (Staves/Festals) Strength: 9 Magic: 11 Skill: 16 Speed: 13 Luck: .....21....(hahahaha, it's so Sheep...) Def: 10 Res: 8 Movement: 6 Hitpoints: 28 Avoid: 30 Castle Address is the same as mine in the earlier post.
  14. .....brutally killed in the first two-..WHY DID I DECIDE TO BE A KNIGHT....:C .....You definitely SHOULD tell us when you get us killed though. --- I can't tell if I'm better as a General or a Great Knight - which I guess is good because it gives Pyrr options. Speed caps are fairly similar and same with Res and Def... personally I'd go General because holy mother 70 HP is cool (and I like the General skills better. Sorry Luna.) --- In my opinion the classes that need to be given are... Sky Knight (and Commander's already got the ball rolling with this one) Cavalier Spear Fighter Oni Savage Sky Knights are slightly more prioritized than Paladin horsies because they can go Falcon Knight and heal - or Kinshi and give Pyrr another bow user. I personally like Shelter and the mixed defenses Paladins give more than the remaining Hoshidan classes Debuffs for days. Good bolt axe user if Krim ends up a Wyvern Lord/ Blacksmith is just #coolaf --- Ninjas would be nice though...but Inno's already an Outlaw and can open chests, and if he gets another Rod Knight (Troubadour) with a decent strength growth (or a great magic growth so he can use Saizo's Flame Shuriken) he can get a Butler/Maid - which would be a much more useful because healing is probably prioritized over opening chests - I would think. --- On it, Tom.
  15. Luck -is- point for point the least important skill in Fates though. The only character that needs a little bit of help in it is Arthur (who with a few Goddess Icons is an absolute monster all of a sudden) and there are characters like Midori who abuse the hell out of the stat - but it's not a necessity for most characters and Corrin -usually- is fairly lucky barring Unlucky banes. From what I know about Ikaru - Dark Knight is one of his favorite classes - so having some strength would give him the versatility needed to make use of the pick-your-poison damage types DK offers - making Luck a better bane than Strength. Speed is important on everything that is not a designated tank (or a staff user) - and Ikaru is a Dark Knight/Sorcerer, so Speed is important. Dark Knights also tend to hold a bit of value in both defenses (particularly Resistance in Leo's case (along with Brynhildr's passive effect)) and therefore it leaves Luck and Skill as the remaining banes (unless HP has a bane....which I'm certain nobody would go for) Skill is tied to several skill activation rates - and so is luck. However, as a Dark Mage, Ikaru gets access to Vengeance from the Sorcerer class and THAT procs with Skill. I assume Pyrrhon won't be skill hunting from MyCastles in this case - so I can safely conclude that Luck is the best bane for Ikaru. Or Ikaru was being self deprecating in some fashion. I think it's the former this time though.
  16. I know there's no reason to be a girl - but I seriously dislike most Male Corrin get-ups while Female Corrin at least looks half-way competent. Bandagesquad Shadypenguinn haircut in .....Maroon.........Burgandy..........I'll make it happen, Sheep. Just waiting for the confirmation from Pyrr so that he gets both of us. Kudos for you and yo' Hoshidan self.
  17. so I may not have slaughtered all of you and took Pyrr as prisoner from his own castle (the only real threat to me was Ikaru.......mages.....gah....) I've also altered my castle settings. Should be an easy seize now. EDIT: NOW it should be an easy seize...why is "attack" the default unit option......
  18. I can get you Sheep after I'm certain Pyrr's recruited me. Name: Hunter Boon/Bane: Sturdy (+Def)/Dull (-Magic) Class: Knight Castle Address: 16066 - 38091 - 23826 - 50059 Level: 9 Weapon Rank: D (Lances/Naginata) Strength: 16 Magic: 5 Skill: 15 Speed: 10 Luck: 19 Defense: 16 Resistance: 4 Base Avoid: 24 No innate critical, hit chance, or attack power. Basically, the first thing that I take exception to is the fact that all of these Corrins may start off with E rank weapons in their respective talents - so I figured I'd help you out by using an Arm's Scroll I get to start out with due to my Visit Ranking. I also dumped all my stat boosting items on as well because I won't be using this run. I don't know if that's considerably cheating or not - I figured I would help where I could, Pyrr. It wasn't in the rules otherwise - and my level is still only 9 and unpromoted. By 11 you will have Def +2 and Natural Cover though. (just pick me, okay?)
  19. Starting from the bottom again, so I'll get to you Imperial. Thank you for sharing! I don't know how it is around the world - but here you can look for another job while still being hired on at the previous one. If that fear exists - it's a little irrational and the best I can do is say "I understand being afraid of making a personal decision and what you're afraid of consequence-wise - but you're not going to get out of a bad situation by cowering and you don't even have to take a loss of pay while doing something about it." I've never made a claim as to say that I absolutely think our welfare system should be "removed" ... (or at least I hope I didn't, you guys can point that out for me if I did.)... so much as that in our country it's horribly unbalanced in many cases (Lexi gave you a second personal example of this just in this thread.) Welfare if used correctly is a good thing that ultimately results in a more competitive employee pool at the bottom and thus pushes the economy along from the lower end while taking care of citizens that absolutely do need help. The problem though - is that the United States is also dealing with a massive spending issue at the government level, yet the government feels it's able to regulate businesses as if they have clean hands and thus the accountability to do so. Simply untrue. As a member of a Democratic-Republic, I have a right to voice my displeasure at the government because they rely on voters like me to keep their jobs. As much as we can all agree big businesses could be held accountable by their consumers, I don't see as big of a frustration because at the end of the day, the government is supposed to by default represent people like me as opposed to the big business representing the business of others where I'm less involved. Ergo - I too hold one big ugly monster to the coals when it comes to a flailing economy. This monster however seems to be the other one than you liberal minded economists out there seem to go after. The biggest issues I see with the economy is more of it being printed, more of it being spent irresponsibly, and on a "fairness" level, people who make more bearing unnecessary burdens because of the government's money issues. Yeah, there are poor people with difficulties in climbing up the class structure. Yeah, there are people that need the government to help them get their diploma or their liver transplant or their house and groceries even. I am by no means indicating that the rich are spotless - but that there is no reason to assume they are the ones who can fix all of our issues when they aren't even the cause of most of them. It's for this reason that I can't be anything other than a capitalist. On the topic of giving - you do need to be careful with who you give to. Many charities are very crooked organizations (at least as much as the government is!) and one should always research charities before doing business with them. Or you could give directly to the people in need and cut out the middle man there - then you know where your money is going because you were there to see the transaction happen. TWC gets a LOT of competition from bigger businesses down here (especially because it's services are often second rate) so I'm not really following here. --- Alright Imperial - hopefully I do your post justice. Starting with the most obvious thing we actually agree on (and boy is it relevant to my life) - Education. The government BETTER be at least offering student aid in any "civilized" country in my opinion because the knowledge acquired should be able to pay the government back in taxes years to come. As you said, it's an investment. That one's not up for debate. The issue with free education down here - is that we don't seem to know how to implement it without hurting -ALL- people in tax increases or what have you. It's a noble idea, with no execution plan people can at least somewhat unanimously agree on. Healthcare on the other hand - to me (and mind you all, I've lost people to cancer and what not so I'm not above you guys in having this opinion) is a different story. People don't -all- join the medical field because they have hearts of gold and many in America do because they have hearts for gold. Being a doctor is one of the most lucrative things you can become - and the educators know it because they have students going to school for at least a completely full decade after high school in order to hold some credentials. Yeah, it saves lives and people should hold the right to live as much as they want - except the workings of life itself don't match up with that liberty because it comes with an expiration date in 100% of all cases. This means that there isn't some groundbreaking moral compass behind being a doctor. There's a personal ambition for being well off and being able to live life to the fullest though. Due to the field's nature - even though we're literally dealing with the lives of other people - I can't objectively say that healthcare should be a social service that everyone has without having obtained it personally. That may sound appalling, but this shouldn't be taken to mean that I oppose ALL measure of medical aid. Just the notion that everyone is entitled to have it. I understand the wealth accumulation at the top not being balanced and it becoming dead currency more than actually going back into the market, that's a logical concession I can make for the idea of wealth distribution being needed. However, it seems really impersonal to say to someone "Hi, you have too much money, and we're gonna need you to spend more of it, and because you happen to have so much we're just going to take it from you." - when again - the option of encouraging businesses to do things to entice the wealthy to spend their money as they wish is on the table. Even if it's less effective in the short term, it isn't invasive and doesn't require a system overhaul to accomplish. That's my hang up. I don't think people are "entitled" to having a good economy, especially if they are equally or even more involved that their neighbors in the process. It's something humanity seemingly doesn't have it's grasp on yet. There are some things I see in your post that indicate that your results were better than others. That's your measure of "hard work" to me. Maybe you have a nice face, some noteworthy blood in your veins, or what have you - but I don't think your body of work is ignored in your case. France isn't WORSE than America, but I don't see where it's head-and-shoulders better either. I don't think it's as common in France to live of the state as it is here for example (which - when it does occur is probably pretty nice -) It's also probably easier to provide social services to countries with fewer people - but that's just a stray thought. There's probably just as many french people as there are Americans.
  20. If you can't make Americans want to work, of course America won't work. Both sides of the coin even. If you marginalize and offend people by being a horrible employer and being unethical, you lose your employee base and your business falls apart. If you are completely able to sustain yourself on government assistance and time and resources are not an issue - then there would be literally no reason to try in the first place. Taxing the wealthy and offering goods and services under the notion that they are entitlements of humanity doesn't address the real issue with broken economies - that people aren't participating and thus making the economy work - in general.
  21. RIGHT to REFUSE service!

    1. InnocentSerenity

      InnocentSerenity

LEFT to LET YOU serve! or something.

  22. NYSE - New York Stock Exchange. --- I would have to disagree with Monopoly being a frustrating game at all in my experience, so I'm afraid I can't say I am seeing eye-to-eye with you on this one. Help me out here - what's unnerving about Monopoly? --- Starting from the bottom, you mention "pushing money to Washington". Unless you're talking about some unknown business exchange center in D.C. - I can safely say that you intend to mean the federal government interceding on behalf of the rich person to eliminate competition in the internet provision industry. (I'm again, not sure what you mean by this completely though, so forgive me if my assumptions are off base.) There are two "big ugly monsters" in United States politics. "Big Business" and "Big Government." Your arguments about "Big Business" are valid - as they hold a significantly disproportionate amount of capital than it's younger and more active brother nation-wide in "Small Business" - despite the smaller business holding more Americans. The alarming thing about Big Biz is that it holds a significant amount of sway with Big Gov due to having said capital. A good example of this was the value of Donald Trump's endorsement to Mitt Romney as well as his contributions (ironically today) to the Clintons. One thing these Big Biz guys go for is political influence despite not going through the political process and it produces corruption in it's most basic form - even government officials will do anything for a buck. --- The problem I have with more liberal ideas of economic structure is that it solves one problem while making the other problem worse. Sure, you may get a - as you said momentarily - stronger middle class with socialist implementation of power to the State in regulating the economy and it's operators. The problem lies with a "Bigger Government" who regulates things even harsher. Instead of getting rid of the class system, it benefits the poor to become average, while pushing the ceiling on the small business owners so that they stay average. The only thing the middle class has done is largely avoid asking the government for assistance for things outside of education opportunities and more so as of late healthcare (due to that being socialized and competition in that field being viewed as "detestable" because humans are somehow "entitled" enough to get fixed rates on goods all of a sudden) and actually pay the State back in taxes so the government can conduct business as usual. You may see it as class system abolishment through wealth distribution, but the reality is that it only makes it harder for the middle class to make it to the 1% while doing most of it's good around the poverty line. The economy isn't an "us vs. them" issue - and the left is very guilty of making it one. --- Finally, I can get that the rich happen to sit on wealth - as you've mentioned that more than once. That doesn't automatically make the onus fall on them to generate economic growth more-so than the country at large. While I'm still not an economist the way I understand it is that economies run better when more people in GENERAL are participating. It's for this reason that I can't objectively say it's the fault of the wealthy that the economy fails and that poor people stay poor - and therefore I can't objectively say they need to pay more in taxes than anyone else. Yes, they do need to spend more money on things, but they should be able to spend their capital as they see fit, not just cough up more of it because Big Gov. asks them too. What the rich can do: buy more things donate freely to food pantries and respectable charitable organizations (this one even helps in fighting poverty, so it's a win-win!) hire more workers (thus putting more people to work while again participating freely in the economic process, another win-win.)
  23. All the same, there are many more businesses and business owners than their are people living among the top of the food chain - if numbers of active economic people matter, why are we focusing on the 1% other than "gee, because they happen to have money so they should be a doll and cover the rest of us." Upper-class citizens are people too. They will still need to spend money - and because they have money they -should- have more opportunities to spend it. Because they have money, they will have to spend a lot more to make it look like they are actually contributing as much as lower class citizens are - however, a lot more DOESN'T equal as much in actuality. You can't look at a rich person and say "okay, you spend 10,000 dollars and my poor friend here will spend 10 dollars and that means you both contributed the same amount to the country's economic machine." I can understand the facts behind bigger businesses being able to contribute more. That also is sensible because it then becomes a NYSE level of investing and buying and selling and market predicting that generates a considerably large amount of the country's wealth. That being said, a majority of the businesses in the United States are indeed "small businesses" and they too have a role to play in economic growth - requiring a lot more people to put in the work and buy and sell and be active in the process. Small businesses are also the leading providers of job creation and end up crippled by liberal economic policies due to regulations such as mandatory healthcare provision or having to hire based on affirmative action and representation as opposed to work ability - then having to pay someone equally evenly, again having to disregard work effort and ethic. of course the mega-rich have higher inheritance rates than everyone else - that is literally generations of hard work and sound fiscal responsibility at work! ...better tax the hell out of those guys - they're too smart for everyone else.
