Agreeing with the above post since I have my battle with her over here (I like taking logs of important battles okay): -Helioptile knows Charge Beam, Glare, Mud-Slap and Thundershock. -I can presume that both Voltorbs know Rollout and Explosion, as one used Rollout against me and the other used Explosion. -Emolga has Nuzzle and Quick Attack. -You've got Blitzle covered, I think... -And Electrode has Charge Beam, Charge and Sonicboom. I think its fourth move is Rollout, but I'm not 100% sure. Oh, and yes, it definitely has Aftermath.

This is exactly why there haven't been any more quests for HMs. Forget about getting Fly in any amount of time shorter than 15 episodes. After the Elite Four. And that's being generous.
-
Once you've made it to 7th Street, yeah. If you don't have 8 badges yet, though, you're going to have to wait on that.
-
Pidgeot's best Flying move, sadly, is Brave Bird, which it can only get via breeding. I suppose you could give it Hurricane instead- it gets that from the move relearner- but it's not really geared to focus on Special Attack... The amount of neglect GF has given my favourite Pokemon makes me really sad... Poor thing is never going to live up to anyone's expectations like that... As for Accelgor, I'm having a blonde moment and can't remember where you get Shelmet, but you can find Karrablast in various places in the Chrysolia Region, and there's a guy in Spinel Town who I think will trade you Shelmet for Karrablast, so you can evolve them?
-
Scyther is sadly unobtainable, as of yet. I would presume that that has something to do with Technician being a little too good on it, and it being a bit too speedy... Are you insinuating Pidgeot is lousy why I oughta... If it's a speedy Flying-type you want, um... Crobat is pretty cool. Cross Poison + Acrobatics is a deadly combo. You can find Zubat in caves in the Wasteland, assuming you've been there already. Earlier on, Fearow and Dodrio both have the same type combo as Pidgeot, are slightly slower than it (by one Speed point, literally) and hit harder than it. You can find Doduo and Spearow outside Beryl Ward's Gym, in the Graveyard. So you could make do with those for a bit, if you have to, but definitely look into Crobat- it's probably the best Flying-type you can get.

^ I can't go there to show you right now (read: I'm in the middle of Tanzan Mountain right now and I don't feel like walking there) but I meant around the other way. Where the door is to the Yureyu building. You could cut through there before Cain's Nidoking blocked it off with Earthquake. Scoot around the corner and you could get the key early. Like I said though, level 45s/50s aren't things you wanna be fighting at that point in the game. Unless you have a Fairy-type handy- those eat those particular bosses for breakfast...
-
You chase the Vulpix down to the building in Obsidia that leads to the Railnet. But I would really... wait on that, because unless you can handle a level 45 Pokemon, you're not going to be getting Vulpix anytime soon.
-
Just keep stumbling around in the cage... someone, or rather, something, will come to help you soon enough~ (I know how you feel- dude doesn't need his ego inflated any more than it already is.)

You actually don't need Strength to get the Dull Key- you can cut around back there after you have 3 badges, when you first unlock le old Power Plant. But considering how hard the bosses are in the area the Dull Key unlocks...

...I need to like, take a screen cap of all of my reserves and stick it in the first post. *pokes F8 and goes to find an image hosting site...* Okay but yes, I have Sharpedo. I think one Water/Dark type is enough, so neither he nor Crawdaunt have been getting much use. Although I at least used Crawdaunt against Cal because weather makes that battle rather laughable, and I am not a nice person to ingame trainers. The only other Dark-type that is actually obtainable ingame atm is Sableye, and I am not anywhere near far enough to get that. Everything else obtainable, I have.
-
I actually already have Umbreon (with Curse and Wish, too) and Shiftry- like I said, I have a lot of reserves, but I was only listing the ones that I'd used actively at some point. I haven't used Umbreon beyond training it to level 45, and only used Shiftry for Serra's Cloyster (That went well... I didn't expect Focus Sash = GG, Shiftry). Remember that "one more use" I mentioned in the future for Mightyena? That's the one I was referring to. Although the only item I can remember seeing that I wanted to snatch was Assault Vest... assuming that's not an incorrect assumption on my part. (I don't think it is, but I guess I won't know until I get there, now will I?) I actually got Dragon Dance from Gyarados... Yes, Scraggy can make babies with the giant sea dragon. I shouldn't question these things, at this point. ...And what sane person would permanently relegate Weavile to the box? Awesome, incredibly useful, Pokemon. Its status as the fastest Dark-type (...tied, but Darkrai doesn't count) and resident Dark-type Dragon Slayer doesn't hurt it.
-
Normally, I would agree with you, but considering how Reborn is as a region, I can imagine some Pokemon undergoing freakish and/or otherwise undesirable mutations, as an adaptation to their new environment. So shinies taking on odd qualities doesn't seem like too much of a stretch to me.

(*TFL = The Fleeting Light. Way to go Espy, trying to make things sound more serious than they actually are...) Why am I making this topic? Because I want to. As of late, I've been doing Dark mono-type runs in some of the main series games. I've completed ones in Crystal and Emerald, and I'm working on one in Platinum (I don't feel like grinding for the Elite Four right now, else that'd be done too...) so I figured that I'd go ahead and do one in Reborn, too, now that I've caught up on my main file. ...But you see, this isn't your average mono-type. With a special name comes special rules. Not that they're anything too complex, of course. I'm only a masochist 30% of the time, after all... Rules: -As this is a mono-type, only Dark-types may be used. Secondary types are fine. Other Pokemon may only be used if it's for egg moves/a requirement to catching a certain Dark-type (eg. Headbutt for Inkay). -All Dark-types within a region's regional dex must be registered as caught, regardless of whether I plan on using them or not. As Reborn's regional 'dex is the national one... that means all of them. And one more Reborn-only rule: -One certain Garchomp and one similarly certain Arceus must be defeated. No ifs, ands, or buts. Current number of badges: 6 *Garchomp has been defeated. Don't ask how unless you want a wall of text... oh wait, this is already a wall of text. TFL 'dex completion: 30/44 Seen | 29/44 Caught The Active Squad: Indra the Houndoom (Male, Lv. 46) @Heat Rock Modest nature. Unnerve (I will change this once I get far enough, I swear... Houndoom's abilities are lousy.) -Dark Pulse -Sunny Day -Will-o-Wisp -Flamethrower ~Houndoom is a nice Pokemon to have, namely because it lacks two of Dark's more notorious weaknesses (Bug and Fairy) and even has an advantage over the former. This one has Will-o-Wisp to cover its shaky physical Defense, Sunny Day to help bolster Flamethrower's power and deter Water-types (and Serra) and Dark Pulse for a nice special STAB. I didn't figure he'd ever have physical moves, so I figured Modest would work as his nature. Duskwing the Honchkrow (Male, Lv. 47) @Sky Plate Adamant nature. Moxie -Sucker Punch -Night Slash -Brave Bird -Roost ~If it's sheer power I'm looking for, then this guy has it. As a Murkrow, Prankster Roosts helped keep him alive and Brave Bird did ridiculous amounts of damage. It still does, actually. Roost is also there to help with recoil, and Sucker Punch is there for priority... since he kinda needs it. Night Slash is just kind of... there. If I don't feel like using Sucker Punch, or something. Corey the Drapion (Male, Lv. 47) @Black Sludge Careful nature. Battle Armor -Poison Jab -Hone Claws -Night Slash -Fire Fang ~Poison/Dark is a nice combo, as it does away with all of Dark's weaknesses and all but one of Poison's. Careful wouldn't have been my first choice of nature, as a side note, but it patches up his Special Defense relatively well, so it works for me. Hone Claws is there to help get his Attack a healthy boost, and I've been rotating between the Fangs, depending on which one fits my needs at the time. Zig-Zag the Scrafty (Male, Lv. 47) @Black Belt Adamant nature. Intimidate -Strength -Dragon Dance -Crunch -Hi Jump Kick ~Dragon Dance is really good on everything that gets it, and Scrafty here is no exception. If he gets off a boost or two from it, he'll outpace everything and hit really hard, usually with Crunch. Hi Jump Kick is stupidly strong, but it has this really bad habit of missing and causing him to faceplant really quickly because of it... Oh, and Intimidate over Moxie for the sake of team support. I do tend to switch out a lot to keep my team evenly leveled, anyway, so... Azurine the Greninja (Male, Lv. 48) @Splash Plate Hasty nature. Protean -Water Pulse -Role Play -Shadow Sneak -Round ~I hadn't gotten a chance to use Protean prior to now... and it really is as good as it looks on paper. Splash Plate is there to help Water Pulse make up for its shortcomings, Shadow Sneak is there to mess with Bug and Fighting-types, namely (Kiki's Medicham is one of my more memorable victims to that) and Round... I've barely been using Round. Oh, and Role Play was there for Sigmund- I just haven't found something to swap it with. Stealing Lightningrod is fun~ Sepia the Malamar (Male, Lv. 47) @Mind Plate Adamant nature. Contrary -Psycho Cut -Light Screen -Night Slash -Superpower ~I'm going to open with the fact that I love Contrary. Contrary is one of my favourite abilities in the game. Anyway, Malamar isn't very fast, but he hits ridiculously hard. Light Screen is there to help null Special Attacks against him + the rest of the team if they need it, and Psycho Cut and Night Slash are his STABs. I haven't actually used Superpower much, but from what use I've gotten out of it, it's been stellar. And I have a lot of reserves (and I do mean a lot) and several of them have seen use earlier in the game, but I don't feel like listing them all right now. So have some noteworthy ones: And here is an image of all of my reserves, but you don't get a detailed description for them, sorry. ...There. The longest post I've ever typed and the longest one I likely will ever type.

On the contrary, Delphox would do reasonably well against Porygon-Z at least, due to its very nice Special Defense + Mystical Fire. Sadly it is rather outclassed by most of the other starters, even here... poor thing. I will do that Psychic mono-type and I will make you useful, I promise... Anyway, as for Noel, pretty much any Steel-type takes care of Cinccino (watch for Hidden Power Fighting, but even that shouldn't be too much to handle). Aggron has been suggested and Steelix is available by that point, too. Bulkier Fighting-types are an option as well... I've only personally used Emboar against him, and that could take the five hits + one-shot with Hammer Arm. Something like Scrafty or Hariyama would probably work, too? More importantly, if you're using a Steel-type, watch out for Staraptor. That will wreck you. Close Combat isn't nice. Fighting-types need to be wary of Porygon-Z and Clefable, but Steel-types will pretty much demolish the latter. ...This is assuming his team hasn't changed post Episode 10, of course, because I haven't fought him in my current file yet so I don't know.

There are many things on my mind. None of which I would like to share with you, though.
-
...Pool? Am I supposed to be swimming? Anyway, it really is up to you guys, not me. Personally I'm not one who's fond of particularly gory/bloody things, but I actually think those takes on Machop and Machamp look kinda cool. Too drastic of a change might make me prefer the normal form to the shiny more, but considering that happens with some Reborn shinies already... yeah. As for Kabuto/Kabutops... I like the red Kabutops better but the silver Kabuto more than the red one. So I'd go with silver on both of them, since I like the silver Kabutops too.

My dreams are always weird. It's rare if I ever actually have one that makes sense... and by "making sense" I mean "not randomly jumping from one thing to another completely unrelated one". Heck, even my nightmares are weird... Although it is kinda neat when you continue a dream you woke up from previously... especially if it was a really good one.
-
Malamar is surprisingly useful, too. Since several of Aya's Poison-types have higher Special Defense than physical, Psycho Cut kinda wrecks her. Plus it gets Light Screen to cut down on the damage from Sludge Wave. You can find Inkay via headbutting trees in the Wasteland. Any Psychic-type sans Gardevoir (because Fairy-type) will do really well against her, though. Especially if it has Calm Mind. And yes, that is where you find Spiritomb... when you unlock that door via turning all those pillars to red, you gotta duck behind another one of those pillars to find a hidden cavern... and follow the path from there. Although the entrance is kinda hard to find if you don't know where to look for it.
-
Sadly, Starly isn't obtainable anymore- it was removed in Episode 10.5, if I'm remembering right. I think it was deemed "too good", and I can see why, because Staraptor is notorious for being... ehm, powerful.
-
Going to agree with everyone that's said Froakie- Protean is really as amazing as it sounds. Although I'm the sort who enjoys messing with her opponent's head, so... Definitely keep in mind that Mudkip and Piplup are available later on (although significantly in Piplup's case) and take that into account, unless you'd rather have one at the start. Also, I'd avoid Totodile. Over-all, it's one of my favourite starters, but its miserable lack of good Water moves (Water Gun until level 63 as a Feraligatr, yeah) really hold it back.
-
Well, each generation introduces a few more Pokemon that make their way into my favourites, but... there's obviously going to be one that tops the list. For me, it's Pidgeot. I've always loved its design, so I make a habit of catching one when it's available, and it matches my favourite battle style- hitting fast and hard- perfectly. Sadly, pretty much every other birdie (besides Unfezant, perhaps) outclasses it, and I doubt that'll ever change. Won't stop me from using it, though. Oh, and my favourite legendary... is Raikou. The first legendary I ever caught, way back when I first started playing Gold. It's stubbornly held this spot, despite Darkrai's best attempts at trying to overtake it. One of the things I remember quite vividly is how one particular Pokedex entry cites it having a cry that sounds like crashing thunder. And, because I feel like it, and if anyone cares, my favourites of their respective types:

...I just started a new game (in Episode 11, of course) to check and... she was named Apprentice Victoria for me. So... I am very confused right now? Is it like, random, or something? It's a tiny thing, so it's not terribly important, but...
-
A minor, somewhat useful thing of note if you're a wuss like me and need Potions: there's a lady outside Grand Hall that gives you a free Potion if you talk to her. Something I hadn't noticed until someone else pointed it out. She gives it to you before you ever enter the Grand Hall, actually, so you can have one Potion before ever getting your starter, which is handy. Also, I'm pretty sure Victoria's title hasn't been Nature Girl since before Episode 10? She's "Apprentice" Victoria in your first battle with her, so far as I can recall. Same with Fern and "Swag Jockey". (Whose idea was that title, anyway? Dorkiest thing I've ever heard...) And one last thing, you should definitely make note that there are a lot of hidden items all around Peridot Ward. I literally was drowning in Antidotes and Potions from just checking random rocks and barrels and such. I'm just trying to be helpful don't eat me
