Immediate problems:
Jeremiah doesn't really go over any of the guy's longer videos fully to prove that they can be condensed into 5 minutes or less, only telling us that they're drawn out after taking a crack at the intros.
The guy also can't predict which of his videos are going to get relatively more views so that he can preemptively make them longer.
And, only a few of his videos (10 out of 79 videos spanning across around two years) pass the 10-minute mark either so it's rather unfair to say that he's a "cuck" who is padding his contents for more watch time just solely judging by his videos' overall length.
More on the intros: Longer intros aren't always a bad thing, and the guy likely made minutes-long intros to emulate the format of say, iDubbbz's Content Cop. (which also features similarly-long intro skits) Though without a good joke to go along with it, it can fall flat and end up feeling unnecessary, which is what's happening here.
And on the YTPs: I'm fairly sure the trend died years ago
and I miss it sorely, so he likely didn't do it because he wanted to catch some hot trend and gather sweet clicks. In fact, after taking a look at his uploads, it's what he's been doing since the beginning of his channel, and has only given up two months ago when he declared that YTP became a dead genre. He does some okay sentence-mixing and edits, too. Not really up my alley with the humor anymore but there's definitely noticeable effort put into them. Considering the obscurity of the genre then, I reckon that he's at least somewhat passionate about this.Though I definitely agree that the guy intentionally caught on the content-reviewer trend and tried to rip off Mumkey to ascend to relevancy (leaving behind his YTPs, evidently), and he should be called out for it.
Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery, I suppose? After all, the guy did mention that he liked Mumkey's Anime Reviews. -
