      I guess I havent played enough hector mode because hector has mostly been god for me throughout the whole game, early to late

      maybe rngesus just likes me

      Marcus has killer bases and decent growths that carry him all the way to end game, so he's good to go without any work, which is something none of the other FE7 axe users can claim really. Even Hector needs some work to really get going.

      The one exception to that might be Harken, who comes with really strong bases. Except he comes quite late into the game.
