A Dark monotype kinda sucks at first, but it can be deadly at later levels if you play right. A flying monotype can prove interesting too. There's a lot of options, and I haven't seen one yet around these parts. Not a complete one, I guess. And if not, then... idk, why not Fairy? \o/

I guess to use Shedinja, you kinda have to know what to expect already. Otherwise, it just dies to the most commons things. But hey, Etesian is the poké master, so if he says it works, i'm gonna go ahead and agree with him \o/

Maybe the Devon Corp. got a hold of the Masterball monopoly. And they don't sell anything. And maybe they work with Team Meteor and Inuki. So, Team Meteor has all the masterballs. Lin probably has at least one on her at all times for the shiny Magikarp. Or knowing Ame, you might get one after you complete the Pokedéx

Once again, it all depends on the rules you impose yourself. If using a pokémon just for HMs is a problem, then you should consider another monotype. Just my thoughts on it. But yeah, all depends on the rules you want to follow. You're not going to let the "HM thing" stop you from sweeping the E4 and the Champion with your favorite bugs, right? ;D
