  1. Magna Sigyl (9/39 HP) Res: 3 (5 vs. magic attacks) Magna let out a groan, as her vessel was starting to give way. It reacted too slowly to defend, after receiving damage. She steadied herself with her scythe and looked up into the sky, wondering if Abraham would come pick her up after she died? She chuckled, knowing there was no judgement to the heavens or hell, at least for the undead. She had already had her second chance. Vengeful Curse activated! Officer B has revived under Magna's control with 10 HP! Magna's Officer A (10/100 HP) uses Lightning Bolt on Officer A, dealing [2d8 + SYN(10)] + [Magna's SYNN(9)/2 rounded up] (Summoner's Influence Perk) for a total of [2d8 + 15] damage. Magna's Officer B (10/100 HP) uses Ignite on DT Beast Pack A, dealing [1d6 + SYN(10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] (Summoner's Influence Perk) for a total of [1d6 + 15] damage, and inflicting burn damage of SYN[10] for 3 turns. Magna uses Reap on her Officer A (or whichever has the most health), and restores its remaining HP (10) to Magna. Soryn Éclaire (12/60 HP) Res: 4 Soryn's breathing only became more labored, as his vision began to blur. Shameful to admit, he was getting far too old for antics like this. He had settled down in a remote castle for a reason. If he survived this, he was going to find some nice tea. He wondered how the shy girl he met earlier, Sachi, was faring. The Blood Well is at (57/72) capacity! Soryn casts Blood Siphon on Soldier Battalion B, dealing 1d8 + 1.5*INT(9) for a total of [1d8 + 14 damage]*1.3 (Nocturnal Perk Modifier)(l0l i forgot to include this perk last turn) and ignores 40% of target RES (Vampirism Perk). Half of the damage dealt is restored as health to himself (rounded up).
  2. Magna Sigyl (13/39 HP) Res: 3 (5 vs. magic attacks) "Rest well, faithful beast. Try to be something tougher in your next life," she said, letting out a sigh. The last of her skeletal beasts had left her, as she ensured the souls were sent to the afterlife properly. She turned over at her newly raised minion. It was in poor taste to be manipulating the remains of your enemy, but now was not the time to be debating ethics. There was a battle to be won. Vengeful Curse is active! Officer B will revive at the start of Turn 5 with 10 HP! Magna's Officer A (10/100 HP) uses Arcfire Ignite on DT Beast Pack A, dealing [1d6 + SYN(10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] (Summoner's Influence Perk) for a total of [1d6 + 15] damage, and inflicting burn damage of SYN[10] for 3 turns. Magna uses Rescind, withdrawing her scythe to guard herself and reducing incoming damage by 50%. Soryn Éclaire (32/60 HP) Res: 4 Soryn steadied himself on his umbrella, as he felt a little faint. He had been using up a lot of his own blood in such a short span. Just how long was this fight going to drag on? The Blood Well is at (39/72) capacity! Soryn casts Blood Siphon on Soldier Battalion B, dealing 1d8 + 1.5*INT(9) for a total of [1d8 + 14 damage] and ignoring 40% of target RES (Vampirism Perk). Half of the damage dealt is restored as health to Lexiel.
  3. Magna Sigyl (29/39 HP) Res: 3 (5 vs. magic attacks) "Whew, that felt like a close one," she sighed with relief. Magna lamented how fragile her minions were, wishing they were still around to do her bidding. Her remaining skeletal beasts gave a roar, indicating it's readiness to fight. "Atta' boy. It's just you and me now, but you'll have a friend soon enough." Vengeful Curse is active! Officer C will revive at the start of Turn 4 with 10 HP! Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast A (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer A, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] (from Magna's Perk, Summoner's Influence) Magna uses Reave, dealing [1d10 + INT(8)] to Officer A Soryn Éclaire (43/60 HP) Res: 4 "How fragile," Soryn tutted in disappointment. "I suppose I should be thankful that not all of these creatures are skeletons. Blood seems to be hard to come by." The Blood Well is at (39/72) capacity! Soryn casts Hemospere on Lilya, consuming [25% of Soryn's current health (11)] to shield her for [25% of Soryn's current health (11)]*1.25 for a total of [14] health. Upon breaking, the shield will deal [9] damage and ignores 40% of target RES (Vampirism Perk)
  4. Magna Sigyl (14/39 HP) (pending healing) Res: 3 (5 vs. magic attacks) Magna could feel her vessel deteriorating from the damage dealt to it. If nothing is done, she herself would perish. She really wish she had something to hide behind. Nevertheless, she sent her skeletal beasts for another round at the mage. Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast A (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] (from Magna's Perk, Summoner's Influence) Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast B (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast C (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] Magna casts Reap on Dragon Tooth Beast C (or whatever beast has the highest health after turn processing), restoring (100% of target HP) 10 HP to herself. Dragon Tooth Beast C is consumed in the process. Soryn Éclaire (28/60 HP) (pending healing) Res: 4 "I see that this is just an issue of numbers then," he said with annoyance. The mages didn't seem to be that competent, and seemed like easy targets to pick on. The Blood Well is at (20/72) capacity! Soryn casts Blood Siphon on Officer C, dealing 1d8 + 1.5*INT (9) for a total of 1d8 + 14 damage. Half of the damage dealt is restored as health to Lexiel.
  5. Magna Sigyl (39/39 HP) Res: 3 (5 vs. magic attacks) "Looks like they have our castle locked down tight," Magna said with a whistle. With the massive welcoming party sitting right on their doorstep, it would be rude not to go and greet them. "Figure the remaining people in the castle are still holed up in there?" Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast A (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] (from Magna's Perk, Summoner's Influence) Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast B (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] Magna's Dragon Tooth Beast C (10/30 HP) uses Bite on Officer C, dealing [1d12 + DEX (10)] + [SYN(9)/2 rounded up] Magna uses Reave [1d10 + INT(8)] on Officer C Soryn Éclaire (60/60 HP) Res: 4 "Our fortification doesn't seem to be faring that well," he said in a dry tone. He was curious as to what the mages of this world were capable of, and took a step back just to observe. The Blood Well is at (20/72) capacity! Soryn casts Hemosphere on Empi, shielding her for [25% of Soryn's current health (15)]*1.25 for a total of 19, and dealing [Original Barrier Health]/1.5 for a total of 13 damage upon breaking (40% of RES ignored due to Vampirism Perk).
  6. Soryn Éclaire 'Duty,' he mused, as he let out a small smile. After living for some five hundred odd years, a concept like duty seemed to have been forgotten to him by time. The feeling of having a driving force, opposed to the listless, boring lifestyle he had led not too long ago. "If you believe strongly that your 'duty' will always guide you, then keep doing as you are, Miss Honda. I believe there's more to you than meets the eye," he said. Despite his prior beliefs, he could see that Sachi was, in fact, standing up for herself in her own little way. She had a good head on her shoulders, despite lacking the confidence in some areas. "But I believe our conversation is coming to an end, as they seem to be calling you. I won't keep you any longer, but I do hope to converse with you at a more opportune time, perhaps over tea. Do come back safely now." Magna Sigyl "Distracted? I'll have you know that I'm always focused!" Magna yelled incoherently, having forgotten her original goal already. "Sheesh! AI may be sophisticated, but they sure never programmed in manners!"
  7. Magna Sigyl "Being trouble is subjective my dear! It's merely what perspective you take. But nonetheless, I am Magna Sigyl, a pleasure," Magna said extending her hand towards Hiroki to help her up. The absence of a soul from Ritsu indicated that she wasn't a living creature. The only conclusion she came to was that Ritsu was robotic in nature. What a marvel technology was, that AI had become sophisticated enough to simulate consciousness. Magna paused to think about Ritsu's question. "Hmm, nope. Pretty much here just for Hiroki," she said without hesitation. Ghost (whom she had mistaken for Lexiel) had sent her to find the remainder of the castle defenders. Neither of which, were Ritsu or Hiroki. "I'm part of the castle defending team! I wouldn't mind going out into the field either, but the others seem eager and roaring to go! What about you two?" Soryn Éclaire "A rather circular argument, but a meaningful one nevertheless. I'm sure you know this, since you've been with this group longer than I have, but from what I've learned from the little time I spent with this group though, is that no one will force you to fight," he began explaining. Here he was, expressing his concern for a stranger whom he had just met. From talking with the timid Sachi, he had assumed that she was quite young, though he could be entirely wrong should she be an ageless entity like himself. "And I'm sure, with all the people here willing to fight, they wouldn't think any less of you if you decided to step down." "I apologize if that was boring or unnecessary. The old tend to ramble incessantly."
  8. Soryn Éclaire "Well that's admirable of you, Sachi, and just about all anyone can really ask for. I'm sorry for bringing that up then, I didn't mean to belittle your efforts. The only reason why I'm so persistent is, well, because I'm rather frustrated at having no control in this situation. I... just want to return home," he said softly. He didn't know why he was telling Sachi all of this. Perhaps she was just calming to talk to. "Let us diverge from the topic then. You fight on the vanguard, yes? Are you not afraid of being on the frontline?" Magna Sigyl Magna began to scan the courtyard for the people who she was supposed to gather, when she spotted Hiroki from a distance. She hadn't had a proper conversation with her in the longest time, and immediately started breaking into a full sprint into a hug-tackle towards Hiroki. Magna felt like she was forgetting something, but if she had forgotten, it must've not been that important. At the top of her non-existent lungs, she began to yell: "H.K!!!!!!!!!!!! I've missssssed yooooooooooou!"
  9. Magna Sigyl "You must be Lexiel then! Pleased to meet you! I, SKELETON MASK, will most certainly gather the rest of the castle defending team, or my name isn't SKELETON MASK!" she said, striking a pose. "-which it isn't! It's actually Magna. Now if you'll excuse me..." Magna began to turn to gather the remaining members.
  10. Magna Sigyl Upon confirmation of being placed with the castle defenders, Magna went out in search of the defense captain. She had made her way over to LOTUS, who was the one who assigned the teams in the first place, for confirmation. Upon getting closer, she could see what was undoubtedly an angel who was already talking with LOTUS. The angel in particular, was looking a little displeased already. "My my, dissension among the ranks already? What a time to be alive!" Magna joked. "I'm looking for this 'summoner woman' you mentioned who is to lead the defense team. Could either of you lovelies point me towards her? I'd like to hear the defense plans from her."
  11. "Well, who am I to argue with two mages, right?" Rosalvya said with a shrug. She'll believe it when she sees it. Ghost or not, so long as it didn't start haunting them in the midst of battle, it could probably wait. "Once this fight is over, we can go investigate this 'ghost' to your heart's content all right, Klaren? Even Terrin will come along for the journey, isn't that right?" she said, shooting Terrin a look for encouraging Klaren while they were fighting the enemy.
  12. Soryn Éclaire "The pleasure is mine, Sachi. But being 'used to it' is no excuse to accept insult or discontent. I would like to say more, but it is not my place to tell you what to do." He had only just met the girl, after all. And if his big ego and his big mouth were to scare away the one person he had made contact with so far, then he had best shut up. Thankfully, one of the castle guards came in with news regarding the surrounding situation. "You don't suppose that 'magical fortification' would happen to be our castle, would you? I could barely believe that this group owned such a structure. How did you come under its possession?" Magna Sigyl "Unless someone has a grand scheme of how to split up, I'd like to remain with the castle's defenders. I can repel invaders indefinitely, and catch up when these guys are in okay shape," she said. Her skeletal beasts reared up, as if in response to her statement. Only to topple over momentarily after losing balance. "Probably."
  13. "Um, Klaren? Is the heat possibly getting to your head?" His claim was bordering lunacy, even for Klaren's standards. "If you're not feeling well, you're welcome to take a breather, maybe drink some water. Mayanna shouldn't be too far either, if you'd like to go and see her." Rosalvya, not wanting to belittle Klaren, took a moment to look around for Klaren's ghost, before refocusing her attention on the fighter. "I was near the house while your were looking inside, but I didn't see any ghost passing through walls."
  14. The overbearing heat of the sun was starting to take it's toil on Rosalvya, as she moved towards the house to seek shade. She noticed Klaren run out of the house in rather of a hurry, and couldn't help being curious. "You're energetic, even despite this heat," said Rosalvya, as she leaned against the wall of the house. Which was a terrible idea, as the stone was just as hot as everything else in the desert. She eyed the fighter standing nearby with care, not making the first move. The fact that he had not moved even when the previous mage had moved forward perhaps indicated that his orders was to hold the line. What kind of barricade was this anyway, with an opening on the side? Was this a trap? "So what's the rush, Klaren? You look like you've seen a ghost." Move to J4, equip Iron Blade, and Activate Leaf on the Wind
  15. Soryn Éclaire Soryn arrived in the courtyard, with several people already gathered. It would look like it would be a little while longer before the meeting commences. He turned to Sachi, glad to see that the child hadn't ran off, being the timid girl she appeared to be. "Yes, I suppose that is a logical course of action," Soryn sighed. It looks like they were all in the dark. "I apologize for my brashness earlier. I suppose I was getting a little too anxious regarding the recent events. My name is Soryn Éclaire. I hope you were not offended when I referred to you as 'small one'". He was aware that some people were more self-conscientious than others, with himself being no exception. His manners, or lack thereof, was one thing he had to remember.
  16. Soryn Éclaire 'What do you mean you don't know the answer to that," the words tersely repeating inside his head, as his patience began to wore thin. Thankfully he had refrained from bursting his thoughts out loud. "Walk with me then, we shall go to this 'meeting'," he took a deep breath to calm himself, and then decided to rephrase his question. He wanted to test his theory that they were indeed not in the same world, for he could not identify their surroundings to match anything in his knowledge. "So allow me to reiterate: the group we are travelling with were brought here from, correct me if I am wrong, different worlds and no one knows why? Are you not concerned with this?" Soryn has left the Armory and will reappear in the Courtyard
  17. Soryn Éclaire Soryn's ears perked up, as he tried to locate the source of the tiny voice. He did not know who Isobel was, but if things were finally going to be explained, he would attend immediately. "You there, small one. Judging from your attire, you are not from here, correct? I want you to answer my questions," he said in a demanding tone. His cape fluttered behind him, as he swiftly moved towards her. He paused, and added "If you please." He had forgotten that wherever he was, was not his domain, and may not even be his world. If that was the case, then his titles and prestige would be meaningless here. "Just... where are we?" he asked in a softer tone. "I had boarded your.... castle previously, after being unwillingly brought to a place I do not recognize. I demand that- that is, I mean to say, could you explain how it is I was brought here, without my knowing?"
  18. Magna remained mounted on one of the skeletal beasts, to ensure that the garrison's soldiers knew they were hers. If she were to be honest, she felt a little fidgety and uncomfortable being in the midst of so many humans from this world. Not many people take kind to the supernatural, especially not the undead. While Magna could assure anybody that the skeletal beasts under her command were as docile as could be, she may have a hard time convincing the soldiers who are spending the rest of their days fighting monsters just like it. She considered releasing hold of them and returning the skeletons to the earth, it seemed like a waste given that they had a war to fight. She shook her head to clear her thoughts. She was thinking too much. "So! What do you think our odds of making it safely off this world are?" Magna asked the group. In the background, the other two skeletal beasts chased each other around, nipping at the other's backside. "Our opponents this time seem to be more dangerous than last time."
  19. After a small group of them left for the War Council, Soryn set his mind to exploring the place. It was a welcome distraction from the distress he was feeling earlier. Despite the perpetual frown on his face and his grumpy demeanor, he was feeling lonely. Being torn away from his home unwillingly and being forced to fight for an unknown cause was unsettling. He yearned for home. He broke off from his train of thought when he stumbled upon two people; a man and a girl who were probably with the group he came in with, given that they didn't seem like the garrison's soldiers. He quietly inserted himself at the side and began to eavesdrop, making no effort to conceal the fact.
  20. Magna had gotten distracted by a newcomer to the field. A new enemy? Immediately, the figure had opened up their arsenal of muskets and began to lay waste to the battlefield. Magna quickly hopped onto her skeletal beast and had it gallop away, for fear of being mistaken and caught up in the volley. The barrage of bullets had kicked up a storm of dust, providing ample cover for Magna to ride into. She circled around trying to regroup with everyone, as she heard the newcomer shout instructions. Someone who was ripped out of their own world, just as they had? Magna burst out of the cloud of dust, with two more skeletal beasts trailing in a triangle formation behind her. She reappeared before the group, acting all gallant. "If anybody needs a ride, they're welcome to hop on," she gestured towards the two other skeletal beasts. Their jaws clattered in response, as they pawed impatiently at the ground. "Getting out of here seems like an excellent idea." -------------------- Soryn openly scoffed at Magna's invitation, as if it were the most absurd idea she could have proposed. He sheathed his sword back into his scabbard, and released the blood well back into nonexistence. He would much rather run on his own two feet, than have to associate with more undead. Soryn spent no time in following after the others, towards the suggested human fort. Certainly anywhere is better than here. He began sprinting away at superhuman speeds, leaving the majority of the group behind.
  21. Magna Sigyl (39/39 HP) As the pink mist enveloped the battlefield, she could sense mistrust begin to fester within her. Magna scoffed at these idle thoughts, as with the exception of the people she's already revealed herself to, she hadn't opened up to trust the others. Magna's innate mental fortitude from being a grim reaper caused the effects of the mist to subside rather quickly. This was nothing compared to the man impaled by weaponry whom they had met before the group left the first world. Where the initial nightmares the man had caused her mind to completely shut itself off, the pink mist was only a minor nuisance. Cast Reanimate the Dead on a Dragon Tooth Beast ---------------------------- Soryn Éclaire (60/60 HP) (Hemosphere, 17 HP, deals 12 damage upon breaking to the attacker) Blood. Blood. Blood. The words repeated themselves within Soryn's head, urging him to feed on the living essence of those around him. His eyes turned bloodshot and his pupils narrowed, as his eyes darted about the battlefield. Tasty prey, ripe for the picking. He only had to go over and sink his fangs into one of them. Besides, what were they to him? He had only met them recently... surely it wouldn't make a difference if he had just decided to consume- "How... foolish," he chastised himself. Since when did he become to weak? Was he just a fledgling vampire, succumbing to his primal instincts? No. Nonsense. He was a proud higher vampire. He was better than that. Despite the bloodlust rising within him, he decided to shield one of the others. He had not forgotten that some of them had restored some of his energy. So if he had urges to attack the others, then all he had to do was simply not attack. The Blood Well is at (20/72) capacity! Consume 25% of current health to cast Hemosphere [1.25(25% of current health(15))] on Hiroki, shielding her for 19 health, and dealing 13 [Original Barrier Health (19)/1.5] damage upon breaking to the attacker
  22. Magna Sigyl (33/39) The arm that Magna had chosen to take had, in fact, started to try and choke her. A meaningless gesture, if not an amusing one. If her newly attached arm wasn't going to listen to her, she didn't need it anyway. She threw it to the ground, and crushed it beneath her scythe. Her eyes had not deceived her earlier, as there was, in fact, more skeletons approaching. Magna had considered reviving other skeletons to work for her, but they didn't look to be that durable anyway. Reave [1d10 + INT(8)] Dragon Tooth Warrior B ---------------------- Soryn Éclaire (34/60 HP) (Hemosphere, 17 HP, deals 12 damage upon breaking to the attacker) Soryn could feel the effects of a form of healing magic being cast on him from two different sources. A small, and futile effort. But an effort nonetheless. And those who did right by Soryn, he would certainly return the favor. Seeing as how the hordes of common skeletons seemed to be dissipating, Soryn decided to go after more interesting opponents. The Blood Well is at (12/72) capacity! Impale [INT(9) + 60% of missing health (16)] Dragon Tooth Beasts for 25 damage (Missing health accounted for healing done by Lexiel)
