  1. Esyllt Esyllt felt her heart skip a beat, as a familiar voice spoke in her ear. It had almost caused her to choke on her mouthful. She knew that someone was following her, but she had not expected that they had crept up directly behind her. At least it wasn't Mother Opium that was behind her. As she swallowed her mouthful, she grabbed an apple and a banana before closing the refrigerator door shut. "With all this crazy stuff that's been going on, a girl's got to keep her energy up. There's no sense in going out to battle on an empty stomach," Esyllt said nonchalantly. She had no remorse about what she was doing, and lightly tossed the apple towards Anna. "Have an apple. Just think of it as an investment to our growing futures." Esyllt grinned, before she scarfed down the banana.
  2. Esyllt Esyllt carefully moved about the area carefully, as she knew she was treading dangerous grounds. Although Natalie may have allowed them inside, what she was about to do was unmistakeably tresspassing. She knew someone was trailing a little behind her, but she paid them no heed. It was probably just Arya or Anna. Eventually, Esyllt found her way to the kitchen, silently rejoicing at how close she was to food. As soon as she deemed the coast was clear, Esyllt beelined for the refridgerator. Upon opening the door, she choose select items, and not too much of one. That way, neither of the Opiums would notice a thing.
  3. 1. Headphones. I try to never leave them behind. If I left the house late, and I forgot my headphones, more likely than not I'll go back for them. I've worn them for several years, and not having that weight around my neck/head makes me feel naked without them. 2. My wooden pipe. Whenever I'm stressed, the ritual of packing and lighting a pipe calms me, while looking magnificent. Of course, I get funny stares whenever I smoke in public. 3. A butterfly knife trainer, something I always tend to lose. Always paired with my pipe, I like to fiddle with it while smoking.
  4. Esyllt That was more convenient than Esyllt could have imagined. Natalie Opium was the vessel of Nayru, which brought their search to an end. Esyllt suddenly swayed a little, as she clenched her stomach with one hand, and steadied herself against the wall with another. She moved to a spot against the wall that was not very noticeable, as her eyes carefully scanned the room. She tried to remain alert, listening in particular for Mother Opium. She wasn't particularly fond of running into her, as too many incidents of misconduct in the past had resulted in her being all too familiar with her lectures. Not only that, but Esyllt knew there was a refridgerator in here somewhere that she wanted to get her hands into. While the two goddesses were catching up, she could take this opportunity to filch something without anyone being the wiser.
  5. Esyllt "I assume Layla knows how Mother Opium can help us, given that she brought us here," said Esyllt. "And should we need to convince her of our situation, I can transform. Fortunately that will be our last resort." Esyllt visualized herself returning back to her uniform. Her orbs gathered towards her, including the ones that were imbued in the other three girls. The light softly enveloped her, before her uniform unfolded on top of her as if nothing had happened to begin with. Neat. She had no idea why Layla had brought them here, or what she was going to say to the head of the institute. Impatiently, she knocked on the door once more, this time louder than before. "Mother Opium, this is Esyllt Morrianas," she said, announcing herself. "There is something that I'd like to have a word with you about."
  6. Sorry, been caught up with stuff and whatnot, and it must've slipped my mind. I'll probably get a post out later tonight.
  7. Esyllt Esyllt's orbs dimmed for a brief moment. She had thought that she was unique in the fact that she obtained a power. But according to Layla, the others were eligible to unlock their powers as well. Layla described her as being a "Hope Vine." The ability to empower others was neat and all, but she was totally lost on how to use her power. She wasn't sure if her lack of control was due to her experience. Maybe it was because she had no target to begin with, and it went for her roommates, whom she harbored no ill intent towards. But what if that wasn't the case? She'd have to keep that train of thought for when someone decided to annoy her. Before she lost herself in her own questions, Arya's outburst made her come back to her senses. Esyllt hadn't entirely realized that there were other people out there, who expressed their discontent with society. She had thought that everyone was just too mindless, too ignorant, too self-absorbed in their own business to care about the *horrible atrocities* that were being committed in Kalo. She had thought that there would be no one sane enough to attend Opium Institute. At least, she hadn't found anyone who was opinionated enough to voice their thoughts. Esyllt smirked. Lo and behold, Arya was one of the people she was looking for. However, she'd have to put her other agenda on hold, as there were more important matters to attend to. "Running straight into Eden's Curse without Arya's abilities being unlocked sounds rather dangerous, and I have no idea what a descendent of Adam is. How about we go and find Naryu?" Esyllt suggested. If Layla had awakened, chances are Naryu has as well. All they had to do was find another crazy chick firing lightning. Or something. She didn't know if it was this room or something, but she was starting to become increasingly uneasy. There was something in the air that was making her uncomfortable, but she had no idea what. She kind of wanted to leave. "Also, Layla, dear, is there a way to deactivate my power? I'd like to stay a little more conspicuous walking around," as she twirled in a circle. Her dress fluttered harmlessly behind her, as well as her orbs which seemed to dance around with her.
  8. Esyllt Esyllt rolled her eyes innocently at the mention of sermons. She usually played hooky instead of attending them, and often times received an earful from her mother. Being too restless as a child, it was simply too much for her to sit still for extended periods of time. If she had known how dangerous this curse was, perhaps she would've paid more attention back then. Esyllt smirked, as Arya embraced Lilith- no, as she embraced Layla now. Given her initial reception towards Layla, let alone Esyllt's hug, she had a rather quick change of heart. No matter, so long as they were getting along now, all was well. More importantly, there was a bonafide goddess in front of them. There were no words Esyllt could summon that could explain how dumbstruck she was. She had thought that the awakening of Lilith's other soul was going to be something catastrophically terrible, given how terrified she was before. However, she seems to have come to terms with the situation. They still didn't know what form this Eden's curse was going to come in, and why it was going to kill the goddesses. Again. While Arya was comforting the weeping goddess, Esyllt decided to address Anna's question. "Try doing something like what?" said Esyllt, as she raised an eyebrow at Anna's suggestion. "Shoot lightning bolts out of my hand? How would I even go about doing that?" Esyllt closed her eyes in thought. What if she did have such a power, and that she couldn't control it? She would end up hurting her roommates, and then there would be no going back. Pondering these questions, Esyllt shook her head. She wasn't afraid of power. She had promised herself that she wouldn't just stand idle, and be afraid of those with higher authority, or shun those who held none. Provided she had gained an ability, she was going to use it to her advantage. A tingling sensation began to build inside her body. She had no idea what was going on, but before she knew it, she began to tremble. Was it from fear? The fear that she was going to lose control? Or was it because she was actually excited? That she was actually enjoying the moment? No matter what was going to happen, she was going to own the moment. She was the one in control. Esyllt raised her hand in front of her, palm facing forward. The tingling sensation began to spread throughout her body, from her fingertips to her toes. She opened her eyes, no longer trembling. Her eyes only showed her confidence that she was going to succeed. The radiance of Esyllt's orbs grew brighter, and larger. The orbs grew large enough to shape themselves into ephemeral lances, which launched themselves into Layla, Anna, and Arya. The lances passed through each of her roommates, leaving their bodies before dissipating. At first, Esyllt was worried that she had unintentionally attacked the other three girls. But other than the fact that the three girls began to softly glow, one would think that nothing happened. They didn't seem harmed in the least, and the glow was barely visible. Esyllt blinked in confusion, as she hadn't even intended to target her roommates to begin with. Whoops. So much for having control. "So, um, feel any different?" Esyllt asked nervously.
  9. Esyllt "'That's a rather preposterous theory' -is what I'd like to say, Arya, but you do make valid points," she said, in mild disbelief. It was still hard to take everything in at once, as all of this happened rather spontaneously. She pinched herself to make sure she wasn't just dreaming. "Can we at least agree that Lilith isn't our enemy for now? You can single her out all you want, but that still won't solve anything. She may hold more answers that may explain, well, whatever it is that is happening. And I, for one, would like to know what's going on." The orbs that were still rising from Esyllt's feet tremored a little, as if her agitation were reflected in the tiny balls of light. She had so many questions, but she wasn't even sure Lilith had answers for herself. If Arya's hypothesis was right, then they could be walking in something dangerous. Lilith's power was not only a threat to them, but everyone else around them. It was hard to imagine having a normal school life when you could be struck down by lightning at any given moment. That would kind of suck. She let out a small sigh. With her every day life shattered, she may as well accept what was to come. At least she got a new outfit that she was slowly getting accustomed to. With everyone more or less calmed down, they could at least have some form of meaningful discussion. "You said earlier that there was a 'second soul' within you, and that it wasn't completely awake, correct?" Esyllt said in a soft tone. The last thing she wanted to was to startle the girl and trigger another panic attacks. "If Arya is right, and that second soul is actually the Goddess Layla, then we may have a huge problem on our hands. Lilith, is there any way to prevent your second soul from waking up?"
  10. Esyllt Esyllt had reached the end of her song, but something told her that she should keep singing. She didn't know where the words came from this time, only that she somehow knew how this particular song went. Her voice trembled as she continued, but the rhythm of it all began to feel natural. Her voice steadied, becoming stronger, more confident. A soft light began pooling at her feet. It made Esyllt a little unsettled, but it didn't seem to be harmful. "In the raging light of hope With the flow of chance Through unleashing the rapids on the word And the unwillingness to surrender I lend you my power That you may free yourself!" The pool of light began to emanate small orbs, which rose to the ceiling and slowly dissipated. The light was gentle and pleasant to look at, much like snow. Some of the orbs began attaching themselves to Esyllt, gradually bathing Esyllt's body in light. A warm feeling spread throughout her body, making her feel completely at peace. Whatever was happening, she could get used to this. Once enough orbs collected, her body glowed pure white, before settling down. Looking down at herself, Esyllt was clad in a completely new outfit. Her entire school outfit was replaced with a plain halter neck dress, which revealed her bare shoulders. The dress extended all the way down to her ankles, with slits at both sides starting at her hips. They revealed her long, slender legs, which were now covered in white markings akin to tattoos. Her shoes transformed into stilettos that opened up at the toes, with the leather material criss-crossing across her ankles. She had sleeves that were held just below the shoulders and the wrists by pairs of snow white bangles. As well as a necklace and a belt to match, all of these ornaments were adorned by the vine motif. Finally, her nails had changed to white. She wasn't much of a fan of this particular change, though there didn't seem to anything she could do to change it. The orbs weren't rising as much in quantity as before, but the occasional one or two would rise from her feet. Esyllt stared down at her transformation, a little embarrassed by how revealing her legs were. She looked around, to see if anything else changed. Nothing, other than the fact that she was now the center of attention now. She blinked several times, trying to process all of this all once. "So, um, is anyone else getting an outfit change? Because I'd hate to be the only one," Esyllt joked, trying to lighten the mood. She turned to look down at the girl in her arms, and was glad to see that she had more or less returned to normal. Whatever normal was. Compared to before, she seemed a lot calmer. Esyllt had so many questions. What in Alexus just happened? Why did her clothing change? Who exactly was Lilith? The only way to find out was to ask the girl herself. "Lilith, are you back with us now? I have a feeling that you have something to do with this."
  11. Esyllt Esyllt covered her mouth with her shirt, protecting herself from inhaling the rising smoke. She was rather relieved that the other two girls had acute reflexes, as they instantly took charge of the situation. Everyone was clearly shaken by the turn of events. But relations soon broke down, as Anna began to withdraw into herself. Esyllt was sure Arya wasn't any happier either, with Anna blowing up at her like that. She would just have to deal with those two later. What she really concerned about was Lilith. She couldn't decipher Lilith's torrent of illogical speech, nor the logic behind her ability to launch lightning. But her incoherent words were becoming more quiet, as it reduced to a mere mumbling. All that could be heard now, was "Eden's Curse". Eden's curse? Esyllt thought to herself. The hell is she talking about? The poor girl. Laylite or no, what lay in front of her was just a broken shell. This girl was what, twelve? And here she was, just scared out of her wits. She wasn't sure if she was even responsive. Esyllt knelt down beside her, and embraced the tiny girl in her arms. She quivered, ever so slightly. Then, Esyllt began to sing.
  12. Esyllt Esyllt gratefully accepted Anna's hand, as she grasped it to pull herself up. However, Lilith peeked over, sounding rather distressed. As Lilith began to reach for Anna, Esyllt thought she had seen something flash, followed by Anna dropping her. Again? Esyllt whimpered to herself. But following that, Lilith started apologizing. Her focus was directed toward Lilith. Her eyes narrowed as she became more cautious. She had thought her eyes had fooled her, thinking that Lilith had launched electricity. But, given the cadence of Lilith's voice, Esyllt wasn't just imagining things. She did a kip-up to get herself on her feet, and straightened out her hair. As she glanced at Lilith, it was clear that she was flustered. The only way to figure out what happened was to calm her down first. "Lilith, what's the matter? " Esyllt said, in her most calming tone of voice. It was confident, but not too pushy. She hoped that she would be able to calm down Lilith by talking her through her distress. "What happened?"
  13. Esyllt Arya's retreat from her grasp threw her off guard. On top of the fact that the bunk beds were not designed for two people in the first place, Esyllt accidentally stumbled over the railing, landing on the ground with a loud whump. She lay on the floor dazed, as she stared at the ceiling. Her body and hair were splayed across the floor, scattered wherever they please. Immediately, she burst into a fit of laughter. Arya sure didn't hold back. "I... that... was exactly... how I imagined... you to react...." Esyllt said inbetween fits of laughter. Her reaction amused her more than she had imagined. It was enough to make her stomach hurt. It took her a while to calm down. She hadn't remember the last time she had laughed this hard. "Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Has anyone told you that you're very cuddly?" she said, trying hard to stifle her giggles. She knew Arya was not very pleased with her as of this moment.
  14. Esyllt As soon as Arya had noticed her presence, she spent zero time on clambering up the rest of the ladder. Esyllt began to cuddle Arya, completely oblivious of her reception towards her. Clearly, personal space was not in her vocabulary. As she peered at Arya's drawing, she let out a whistle. In such a short time, Arya had fully fleshed out a drawing that simply felt alive. Esyllt had never seen anything quite like it. Although it was impressive, she couldn't really appreciate the piece of art, as it was just another drawing to her. If she were asked to critique it, the only words that come to mind were "good" or "great". She wondered how long Arya had drawn for to get this good? She continued to coddle Arya as if this were simply natural to her. She turned her head to face Arya, and smiled and blinked at her as if nothing were wrong. Then she let out a small sigh. Being like this made her feel rather nostalgic. It was like having a little sister all over again...
  15. Esyllt Esyllt softly whimpered. She really wanted to get food, but at this rate it seemed that though it would just be herself going. She really hoped Anna wanted to get food. Lilith's mention of Arya's activities piqued Esyllt's interest. She had been hearing soft skittering sounds, but couldn't discern what it was. She hopped out of bed, and slowly scaled the ladder adjoining the two bunks. She looked almost comical climbing that tiny ladder, which was designed for girls younger than her. She peeked her head over her bed to see something that caught her off guard. She could see Arya's small, delicate hands deftly sweeping across her canvas. It seemed as though her drawing was wild and aimless, but at the same time, it was clear that Arya was the one in control. It was rather mesmerizing to watch. But what surprised Esyllt wasn't her ability at drawing, but the amount of focus that Arya was summoning. The look in her eyes was completely different from the scathing glare she had when Lilith walked in. There was this glint in her eyes that made her feel so animated. So alive. It was hard to tell that she was the same person. 'So she's not just a ball of hatred,' she mused to herself. She'd like to see this side of Arya more often. But for now, she would just observe her from the edge of the bed, with Arya being immersed in a world of her own, and all. Curious to see what Arya was drawing, she slowly inched herself closer to get a better view.
  16. So I heard you need more masters. But (I believe) you know how much RP experience I have, so it's your call entirely whether or not to let me pick up a second character. A new challenger appears! (maybe)
  17. Am I really content as I am now? I feel as though I've just become complacent. That I'm fooling myself today, so that I can see that uncertain tomorrow.

  18. Esyllt Esyllt clenched her stomach, as her stomach growled loudly. She smiled sheepishly, as she knew everyone had heard her. She had gone for a long run this morning, and when she returned, she had planted herself face-first onto her bed. By the time she woke up, she was already late for the orientation ceremony. With no time to grab breakfast, she had hurried out of bed. "How about we all grab something to eat?" Esyllt suggested. "It'll be my treat." Perhaps she could get her roommates to open up over a meal. With how things were now, everyone was just going to stare at the ceiling until it caught fire.
  19. Esyllt Esyllt let out a small sigh of relief. Tensions seemed to dissipate, if only for the moment. Looking around, it seemed as though everyone else were waiting for someone else to say something. Anita had already claimed a lower bunk, and having the already hostile Arya to bunk with Lilith was a disaster waiting to happen. Things were going to deteriorate sooner or later, but Esyllt needed time to gauge out her roommates. Arya was rather quick to put on an accommodating farce from her initial reaction, making her someone to keep an eye out for. Of course, the Laylite was no exception either. Anita didn't even do so much as bat an eye when Lilith had walked in. She too, was an Alexian, so perhaps it would be a wise choice to approach her and get to know her first. As for Lilith, well, she'd cross that bridge when she got there. Without further ado, Esyllt decided to break the silence. She bent over to Lilith's eye level, and began to talk with an even tone. "Lilith, would you mind if I took the other bottom bunk? I tend to wake up early to go for a run, and wouldn't like to wake anyone else up." she explained. Of course, that wasn't the only reason. If Lilith and Arya were on the top bunks, she would know if they woke up in the middle of the night.
  20. Esyllt Esyllt tried to hide her displeasure with the current situation. She only had two more years to go, and hoped everything would go uneventfully. But not only were things awkward before, Lilith just shattered whatever semblance of peace as soon as she stepped through the door. Lilith was not remotely what she had expected of a Laylite. For someone so young, it was hard to explicitly hate her, especially given how timid she looked. But that did not change the fact that she was a Laylite. Before Esyllt could do anything, the shorter girl burst out laughing. That cold, cynical laughter just resounded in the room, intensifying the discomfort. Esyllt sneaked a glance at the tallest girl in the room, but couldn't tell how she felt in this situation. In any case, Esyllt was going to have live with these three as roommates, and wanted things to go as peacefully, and as smoothly as possible. Assuming that she was the oldest girl in the room, she was going to take control of the situation before things could get any worse. She gripped the shorter girl's arm, not enough to cause pain, but to grab her attention. She then forced a suggestive smile; not one that was threatening or intimidating, but one that meant 'Please don't cause shit'. Esyllt cleared her throat, drawing everyone's attention to her, and then went over to extend her hand for a handshake. "Hello there Perditia. My name is Esyllt Morrianas." She then turned, and silently urged the others to introduce themselves.
