  1. "Oh ho? Is that so," said Rosalvya. The distinction between the two didn't matter to her. Either way, he was intent on protecting Saffron. What she really wanted to know, was if they were allies worthy of fighting on the battlefield together. "It would seem that you're quite well-versed in the axe. Would you care to indulge me in a little sparring then?" she said with a neutral tone. Rosalvya untied the sash that held her sword to her waist, and wrapped it tightly over the hilt so the scabbard would not come loose. To others, this would appear to be a friendly bout of sparring. But to her, it would mean a test of his strength, and whether or not she'd acknowledge him as an ally. She would not accept anyone who would hold her back.
  2. Rosalvya looked around the field, trying to find a suitable spot for her to practice the sword in peace, when she heard the nearby swings of a weapon. As she headed closer to the sound, she could see one of Saffron's knights practicing the axe. She carefully approached the area so as not to disturb his practice, and observed his swings. She never liked the axe as a weapon; it was too heavy, too slow to be practical. But his swings showed signs of control. Not like the brutish bandits she had encountered on her travels, who only swung with all their might. As his swings temporarily came to a halt, Rosalvya chose this moment to intervene. "How long have you practiced the axe for? Your swings are very refined," Rosalvya said with admiration. "My name is Rosalvya, one of the Misguided Children. You are one of Saffron's knights, correct?"
  3. "To be frank, I have no reason to ask the Goddess for any favors," Rosalvya said, with a tinge of sadness in her voice. Her voice trembled ever so slightly, as she tried to maintain a calm tone. "Before I left my village I-" She paused, and then shook her head. It was a moot point, and Rosalvya didn't know why she clung to the past so fervently. "You know what, nevermind. That's a story for another time. Should the opportunity present itself, I'd like to chat with you again, Hoshiko. M-Maybe you could recite a prayer for me to listen to." Rosalvya got up from her seat, and gave a faint smile to Hoshiko, before joining the others. It had appeared she had missed quite the ruckus while she sought a little solitude for herself. Unknown to her, Rosalvya's faint smile persisted as she made her way back.
  4. Rosalvya closed her eyes in thought. She had originally thought Hoshiko was someone who was rash and headstrong, selfishly proclaiming oneself to be a hero to earn glory for their own purposes. But that was not remotely the case. She was just a girl like her, wishing for the war to end. Among those in her group, Rosalvya felt that Hoshiko was the only one who was humane enough to consider the lives of her enemies on the battlefield. Many would scoff at that notion, but Rosalvya respected her ideals. "I think that is very noble of you, Hoshiko. I may not believe in the Goddess, but that does not mean I shun her either," said Rosalvya. "When I was younger, I always feared being on the battlefield. It was kill or be killed, and the very thought of death terrified me. That fact hasn't changed, ever since I left my village. I practice the sword every day, so that I won't have to lose anyone dear to me ever again." Rosalvya carefully sheathed her sword, realizing she had trailed on for too long. She resting the scabbard across her lap, looking at it in sadness. "Regardless, thank you, Hoshiko. Talking with you has given me a little more courage to fight."
  5. "You seem to always be so brave going into the battlefield. I had always figured that it was your strong faith in that the Goddess would protect you from harm, that let you go forward without fear," Rosalvya said wistfully, as she continued to sharpen her sword. "Unlike you, I don't have anything to believe in, other than my skill with my blade to keep me safe. I'm a little envious of you because of that. I was just curious as to whether you prayed for something like safety in battle, or that your arrows will strike true."
  6. Rosalvya immediately ceased to tend to her blade, as she heard footsteps approach. Curious as to who it was, she remained completely silent behind the tree, as if she were just a leaf on the wind. The person sat themselves on the opposite side of the tree, and Rosalvya heard the sound of a bowstring being strained. Among their group, that had to be Hoshiko. Rosalvya spent a few more moments in silence, listening to the calming sound of Hoshiko tending to her weapon. Out of curiosity, she decided to break the silence, and ask Hoshiko a question. "Say, Hoshiko," Rosalvya said softly. "When you pray to the Goddess, is there anything you're praying for in particular?"
  7. Rosalvya breathed a sigh of relief. There were far too many close calls than she had liked. Meredith's close encounter with death reminded them of how lethal the battlefield could be. Drenched in blood, Rosalvya would have thought she had died standing on her feet, had Meredith not replied to her. But it was all over. The three strangers approached them with poise, but despite their best efforts, there was no use trying to hide their injuries. They too, suffered casualties. The fields became noisy once more, as her allies clamored over their victory. She gave a weary smile and a quick nod of acknowledgement to Ecquis, before retreating into the woods. She preferred some peace and quiet after a battle. Seating herself underneath a tree, she began to hone her blade, while keeping watch for the enemy soldiers who had escaped. One could never tell if reinforcements were near.
  8. Oooh... Ecquis doesn't seem to be doing so well. If Luka dances for me, Rosa can sweep the healer, vantage the cavalier, (hopefully) dodge the axe-user, and fight Maris in a glorious 3v1 to the death. Also lets everyone else catch up.
  9. "Stay with us Meredith, it's too early to call it quits!" yelled Rosalvya. She moved forward, trying to make way for Mayanna. She herself doubted she could lift Meredith in her armor to safety, let alone assist her. It pained her, but she had to leave her life in Ecquis or Mayanna's hands. Move to R3
  10. Rosalvya had hid in the forest, but one of the enemy soldiers had seen her enter the woods. She bided her time, waiting for the horseman to approach. Rosalvya was ready, ensuring she got the first strike. However, the enemy's riding capability was nothing to laugh at. The horseman maneuvered the horse past Rosalvya's swing, landing a strike against her. She grimaced, as the lance graze past her, drawing blood. But it was at that instant, that she felt everything slow. 'Odd,' she thought to herself. She wasn't that wounded. She shouldn't be dying. It wasn't just her, but everything around her was crystal clear. Without further hesitation, she leapt towards the seemingly still horseman, and struck straight for his heart. The blade struck through his armor, piercing flesh. Had it not been for a few more seconds, her sword may have reached it's target. But the mysterious moment ended, allowing the horseman to barely escape with his life. She felt herself thrown back into reality, as her momentum caused her to tumble to the ground. "Tch," she clicked her tonque. "Just a little bit more..." Rosalvya quickly got to her feet, as Ecquis came over to compliment her. But she was too absorbed in what had just happened to hear his words. She was still focused, trying to decipher what that moment meant. She had experienced it before, that moment of crystalline clearness, but she had only experienced it on the brink of death. This time was different. It was in the midst of battle, and something she had understood instinctively. She witnessed Meredith had experienced something similar, but not quite in the same manner as her own moment. She would have to ask her about it later. As the horseman rounded back to their healer, Rosalvya readied herself, determined to experience the moment of battle once more. Hold Position
  11. ^ beat me to the punch (no one has enough AID to rescue Ecquis). Considered bodyblocking, but it'd be extremely easy for Rosa to get 3v1'd instead (and with not even the forest as cover, not really confident in blocking lances, swords, and bows). So having Luka dance is probably the best right now.
  12. "Good job, Ecquis," said Rosalvya, complimenting his efforts. "Please have you wounds tended, and I'll take over the vanguard." Move to U1
  13. Not really much Rosa can do for Ecquis, so she'll leave it to Luka and Mayanna and advance forward (byeeeeeeeeee)
  14. Be cool to younger kids. Relationships are built over a lifetime. This is especially the case if you're in band/orchestra or a club. If they're only a year or two younger than you (and you're going to post-secondary), chances are, you'll be seeing some of them. Make the most of your last year, because unless you try and keep in touch, you won't be talking to 95% of the people you hang out in high school. The most important thing is to enjoy yourself each and every day. Whether that be doing something new, or maintaining the same routine.
  15. The fields were teeming with enemies, and the slightest misstep could result in being overwhelmed. Rosalvya moved to protect Ecquis' flank. "I'm here with you," she said with reassurance. It would seem that enemies were not all that were on the battlefield. Unable to discern the figures by the riverbank, Rosalvya focused on the opponents ahead of her. Move to X2 and activate Leaf On The Wind
  16. Rosalvya's expression softened. She was glad that there were still other members of their group that weren't as jaded by the efforts of the war. Though, how long that would last, would be up to them. "Nothing in particular," said Rosalvya. "Other than practicing the sword, I tend to knit in my spare time. A little activity to take the mind off the constant battles." She didn't feel like discussing her life story at this point in time, so she nonchalantly changed the subject. "So how did you befriend your wyvern? The ones I've encountered have only threatened to bite off my head."
  17. Rosalvya shook her head at the conversation with the old man, letting out a weary sigh. She came over to Meredith and placed a hand on her shoulder as she passed by. "Let her believe what she will. In times like these, people need some sort of foundation to hold on to. For some, it may be the Goddess, and others, it may be us. I don't know what happened to Hoshiko to make her as determined as she is, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. After all, there are few people like her with a sense of righteousness that are left in this world," said Rosalvya. Her voice held a weary tone to it, as if she had fought enough battles already. "I don't disagree with anything you've said, but please keep in mind that some of us are still children, much like myself. If there wasn't a sliver of hope left, many of us would have been left broken and dead on the streets. I know none of us should think we are heroes. Just as you've said earlier, every soldier is somebody's son or daughter. As soon as a war begins, both sides are wrong. I don't know how many hopes and dreams I've had to trample over to get this far." She continued moving to the exit of the jailhouse, not wanting to participate in such grim talk for much longer. "As to where I hail from, it's a town in Dragao that no longer exists on any maps," she said, with a bitter tone. She toyed with the chain of keys around her finger, before tossing it in front of Klaren, just a little short of his reach. It wasn't like her to get so sentimental, but the old man's talk had struck a chord within herself.
  18. Compared to the bright sunlight that shone outside, the jailhouse had dim lighting in comparison. As Rosalvya's eyes began to adjust to the lighting inside, she noticed many of the prisoners were teenagers. 'Children?' she thought to herself, despite being not much older than them. 'This wasn't in the briefing.' In any case, their task was to free these people. "Talk less, Ecquis, you can ask questions as you're bringing people outside," Rosalvya said tersely. "The faster we get out of here, the better." Although reinforcements may not be coming for a while, she did not want to take any more chances. "Our allies are waiting outside. Meet up with them and we'll take you to safety," said Rosalvya, addressing the entire jailhouse. She continued unlocking doors, scanning each prison cell. "Is there anyone injured or is unable to move? Please assist each other in leaving this place."
  19. "My allies will no longer interfere with our battle. I, alone, am enough to take you down!" challenged Rosalvya. "I am Rosalvya of the Misguided Children. Here I come!" Attack Burt
  20. I'm sure Burt is just sitting on his throne made of hand axes, and throws them at his leisure. Unless that priest decides to bravely come up and heal Burt, Rosalvya ends the map on her next turn.
  21. "Don't get too complacent with that, muscle head," Rosalvya taunted. "I'll be your next opponent. Let's see if you'll be laughing after this!" Move to H9 and attack Burt
