[IC] TotMV:G2: The Battered Hero

Eon Having given Kagari the requested item, Eon decides to go into the town to find supplies. Granted, they probably didn't have something that worked specifically for him, but perhaps there were some general supplies that were around. As he was floating towards the town though, he ran into someone on the stairs. After a moment of recollection, he remembered that this person introduced themself as the Hellfire Knight. "Oh, hello again. I don't believe we spoke much after our first encounter. How were the supplies, and are any of them potentially suitable for my use?" Eon asks, noting the potion-like items and bracer that they are holding, wondering if they would be effective at all on himself. -

Eon Now that they had finally gotten to the town, perhaps he could examine some of the wares. Shopkeepers tended to either be slightly curious or absolutely terrified of him. The latter group often tended to try and pay their way out of danger, even though they weren't in any. Regardless, he would at least learn about what some of the goods made in this world are like. While in thought however, Kagari came back up to him. "So, uh... I kind of missed the whole gold giveaway thing while I was talking to Magna. Do you happen to have any more high-purity gold? Like, as pure as possible." "Oh yes, I believe I have some more. Catch," Eon replied as a rift opened up above, but slightly in front of Kagari with a box containing high-purity gold inside of it. -

Eon "She's referring to a more literal existential breach. As in, entities existing in places that defy any rules or logic of the universe that they are in." Eon told the man, slightly amused by his line of thought. "As for me, do dragons not exist in whatever world you come from?" -

Eon "Well, that person is currently in the process of re-evaluating his life choices. Unconsciously of course. That, and I honestly can't say any of us agreed with the stunt he pulled." Eon told the man who was the unfortunate victim of Solomon's...Eon didn't have words to describe that scene. "At any rate, not too much has happened since then, and right now, I would imagine you'd like to know where you are. Am I wrong?" -

Eon Eon took the piece of work from Venus and was quite pleased. Sure, he wouldn't directly use it, but it was something of artistic value, so it had worth to him. "Why thank you," he told the man, satisfied with what he had received. "Now, I do believe we'll need to catch up to Leon, so I'll be putting away the gold. As much as I'd like to leave it all here, I've seen what happens when certain areas get sudden influxes of precious metals. Things can get quite strange very fast." With that, all of the gold seems to fall through the ground, until only a small rift is left on the ground, which quickly closes. "Now then, let's see what we can do about helping out this village shall we?" -

Eon "I might have some. I once helped some scientists with some projects involving gold, and some of them ended with some refined gold that I got to keep. That was a good world for me to go to when I needed to dump large sums of gold. Sadly, time consumed that system, so they're no longer around. But yes, give me one moment." Eon opens up a rift in front of him, and after a bit of digging, pulls out a small, sealed container labeled in some text. "Ah yes, here's some." Eon says, floating the box towards the man. "Have fun with it." -

Eon Looking over, Eon found the sight of Aurora gleefully playing with what he assumed to be silk colored with the dyes he gave her both quite interesting, and very adorable. As such, he gave her some of the yellow, purple, and red dyes to mess around with at her leisure. His attention was then grabbed again by Venus, who expressed in interest in...gold? In response, Eon opened a small rift just in front of Venus, and out poured an immense collection of gold, though nowhere near his total stores. Gold ingots, coins, dust, nuggets, crowns, ore, and other assorted gold goods poured out until the dragon closed off the rift. The total pile ended up being roughly as tall as Venus. "Take whatever you fancy. No really, I have hardly any use for most of this. Thanks to some particular situations back in my own realm, the actual demand for gold has dropped off quite heavily. And yet people still insist on giving me gold for whatever reason. It's gotten so bad that at this point I'm no longer willing to take it. So please, feel free to help yourself to as much as you feel like taking. If you feel like painting something for me in return, you can, but you really don't need to." Eon said, honestly happy that someone actually wants this stuff. "Oh, anyone else who feels like it can take some as well. I honestly have little use for the stuff personally, so if you happen to, feel free." -

Eon Almost immediately after mentioning dyes, he heard Aurora inquire about them through the telepathic link. Looking over, he saw that she was quite excited about the idea of him having dyes. He decided to respond to her request by opening another rift, and pulling out a small amount of a few dyes he had, in orange, blue, and green coloration. "These are some of the ones that I currently possess. I do have a few other colors in storage though if you're interested," Eon thought to Aurora, floating the three dyes over to Aurora's hands. -

Eon Eon was glad to see that Leon was capable of dealing with the issue involving the fight from earlier. Really, Eon couldn't fathom how someone could be this silly. His idea on the case study, which started more as a joke, may actually have enough meat to be something substantial. He would have to wait and see. His train of thought was interrupted by a person named Venus asking him about something. “My enormous entity,” He began as he approached Eon, bowing for the umpteenth time, “A pleasure to make your acquaintance. I am Venus Tireur. It would seem a collective hoarder you are, for a dragon. Forgive my cogitations, but, interest me in the.....more beautiful items within your assemblage, wouldn't you?" "I wouldn't necessarily call myself a hoarder, since I won't take anything that comes my way anymore. Mostly gold though. For whatever reason when I decide to go planet side, half of the time people think I want gold. Ages ago I was willing to take it, but now I have too much of it. What's worse, I can barely use it anywhere thanks to gold flooding certain markets. But that's another matter. As for beautiful objects, I don't have anything like artworks or the like, though I do have raw dyes if that interests you," Eon told the individual, curious about what he wanted. -

Eon Hearing Solomon's opinions on what Leon wanted them to do was, quite frankly, absolutely ludicrous. Given the terrain that they were traversing, the surrounding areas, and the appearance and knowledge of Leon, to think that he wanted them for farming was something that Eon couldn't wrap his head around. "You know, I think something on this scale deserves some sort of formal case study. If only to inform denizens of other worlds and civilizations on how not to handle situations involving people. Thoughs?" Eon broadcasted to It that Embraces, while also pulling his book closer to himself. -

Eon "I see. That may explain why so many people from varying worlds are all gathered around. Though whatever forces are organizing us clearly didn't bother to give too much in the way of indication for our exact goals. I do wonder if that will cause trouble later on. I've seen too many smaller scale incidents of people calling for help from others without giving any real form of explanation at the start. A few managed to work out when the goals of the help were aligned, but when they weren't...let's just say that those messes took some time to clean up." Eon responded, recalling some of the instances he saw civilizations on the brink call for extraterrestrial aid. Eon almost never responded to said calls most of the time, but he did observe the worlds that did have others come to their aid. Of course, sometimes he had to interfere when the fate of the system and even galaxies were at stake. But that's another matter. "So then, was that also what you did primarily when you were in your own realm?" Eon decided to ask, curious of the origins of the entity before him. -

Eon Eon was pleased to find that the link was successful, and even more amused by how her thoughts were not in the same broadcasting speech he was used to from her, but rather seemingly normal speech. Something to investigate later. "Indeed it might. I'm just glad I got this old skill functional again. It's been a while since I needed to converse like this. I am curious though, what is your take on the mess we've gotten into?" Eon thought, curious on how she interpreted the events around her. -

Eon Eon had been watching the proceedings regarding the new arrival with some interest, though it seemed that for now we were going to simply carry him until he came to. Looking over to...Solomon was it, he had to question his use of books. He had seen some forms of combat using books before, but those were usually either tomes or very specific books meant for combat. Deciding to ignore the potentially questionable usage of books from him, he decided to turn his attention to It that Embraces. He found her to be a curious existence, the likes of which he rarely ran into in his own world. As such, he wanted to at least learn a bit more about her. Though with Solomon still not particularly far, he didn't feel like directly speaking. Luckily, he had an alternative to that means of communication. "Are you able to hear me like this?" Eon thought to It that Embraces, testing the telepathic link to make sure communication would go through, -

Eon "Oh this is convenient. Someone has come to break up this little mess. Also answers the questions of whether the main inhabitants are humans. Very well, I'll see where this goes," Eon tells the man, eager to finally get moving after the empty discussion over approaching the town. -

Eon "A mobile book platform? Certainly one of the more interesting ways I've seen books used. Though I guess that means that any stealth options are now no longer on the table. Oh well." Eon muses, not particularly minding how they get to their destination as much. Though he had to wonder whether this was a good use of books. "I suppose I don't mind carrying anyone around either, though I'm not sure how comfortable the rest of you would be with that," Eon decided to say, knowing full well that most of the humans would be more than likely to take the less strange of the two options...though flying books may not necessarily be normal. -

Eon "Indeed, I am Eon, and hopefully we'll manage to be on good terms," Eon stated. He decided to pass on the team shout for now, unsure of its actual benefits. At this point, Eon heard a spliced voice from the telepathic link he set up earlier. Eon figured that whatever prevented her from speaking also affected her telepathic communications as well. Eon made a mental note to record this at a later time before responding telepathically. "Yes, it appears that we are headed to the town, though we may need someone to scout ahead," Eon thought to Aurora, pleased to know that his ability to create telepathic links still worked. Once done, he decided to reply to Edmond as well. "I'm not fully sure which one of us is the stealthiest per say, but considering some of the basic reactions here, either a relatively inconspicuous human or something that can sneak around unseen would be our best bet. The former is somewhat likely to not be considered strange, and the latter wouldn't need to interact with whatever lives up there. Your call," Eon tells him. -

Eon "Of course I made a copy before I gave the original map to him. For record keeping of course. Though they seem to be going back towards the castle? From what I'm gathering, the area upwards with the houses seems more promising. They are certainly less run down than this place," Eon remarked, recalling the paths that the map had shown. The way back to the castle didn't actually lead anywhere, while the path upwards more than likely went towards that town area. For reference, Eon opens his book to his copy of the map and shows it to Alexandria. "We seem to be at the bottom-most part of wherever it is we are, and up north there seems to be...something resembling a town area. I would have imagined that someone with more of an idea on where this place is may be present there. What do you think...Alexandra was it?" -

Eon As useful as a translator would be, if the two had to stay in close proximity, it may not always be available when needed. Noting this, Eon decided to see whether Aurora would respond to telepathy at all. Considering the memory sharing that occurred earlier, he figured it should be possible. With that, Eon attempted to create a telepathic link between himself and Aurora to test out his theory. "Aurora, are you able to hear this properly. If so, simply project a thought of affirmation to me." Eon thought towards Aurora. Though he was once quite comfortable with telepathy, it had been some time since he had actually used it. Nevertheless, now seemed as good a time to test it out once more. -

Eon As the spider lady attempted to say her name, it appeared that it caused her a great deal of distress. As she grabbed his hand however, he did manage to perceive the memory that she tried to show him. While space dragons weren't naturally attuned to such things, Eon, having spent a great deal of time interacting with some telepathic civilizations, did possess the ability to perceive telepathic links. Once the audio cut off, Eon spent some time trying to discern her name. Out of the memory, only two names were directly mentioned. But considering the conversation the two speakers were having, he could likely figure that the first name mentioned belonged to the individual before him. "Aurora is it? How fitting," Eon replied, quite curious about her telepathic abilities. Perhaps it could be something for potential conversation, though Eon would have to recall his abilities to use telepathy. -

Eon "Yes indeed. It's even funnier when some of the larger things around tend to have their own unique hindrances that end up being their own undoing," Eon laughed, reminded of some of the other dragons who fell prey to their own arrogance. Far too often he saw one of his kind believe themselves to be completely invulnerable, only to end up caught in some stupid contraption, forced to do the bidding of some random civilization. Being aware of his surroundings once more, he noticed the spider lady moving closer to him, seemingly interested. "Ah yes, I suppose I never did ask for your name at all," Eon stated, reaching out to pet the spider lady with his free hand. He did not often find anything resembling her kind during his travels, so naturally he was a bit curious. -

Eon Eon nods at It that Embraces as she responds to his greetings. Leaving the meat to float for the spiderlady , Eon pulled his book closer to him and began to take notes inside of it. "You know, I don't often encounter entities such as yourself," Eon says to It that Embraces. "And out of the few I have run into, you are certainly the most friendly," he finished, just as he jotted down the last few notes in his book. -

Eon "Food tends to go bad primarily due to exposure to outside bacterium and such. In conditions where such things are not present, I've found that you can store edibles for quite some time with no ill effects to the consumer," Eon responded to the robotic being. Taking a look at Alexandria, he was slightly curious as to her origins. He had run across a few technically advanced civilizations before, but none of them had anything quite like her, or at least not on record. -
