  1. DarkLight, Surge, EXLink and Jory Redwood walked over to the students. “No, you aren’t disturbing us at all. We were discussing the best way to get one of your classmates on the trip. The boy broke his ankle earlier today. You might know him. His name is Ryan Johnson.” Redwood gestured for the students to enter the lab. He turned to Mareek. “We can fix that Pokéball now. Brendan over there can help you with that. In the meantime I’ll help your fellow classmates.” He turned back to Danielle. “How can I help you?”
  2. Nope. As long as you leave room for a Pokémon to grow it's alright. Keep in mind some moves drain energy from a Pokémon that can't handle it. Example: Evan catches Phanphy and wants to teach it EQ (I won't do that), but this causes Phanphy to lose stamina because it takes a lot of effort. Phanphy's body can't produce such power yet so it will also fail most of the time. Learning process: Phanphy knows Bulldoze -> Magnitude (Donphan) -> EQ.
  3. Training Facility ((Use it to teach your Pokémon some moves like other Egg moves, HM, TM, Move tutor... Same rules apply here: don't make your Pokémon OP from the start.)) The Training Facility was made of the exact same white stone as the Main Building. The roof wasn’t visible, but the door and window frames had a dark brown color. When Kenny and Robert reached the doors, they were already opened like usual. They were only closed after 9 PM and opened up at 7 AM for those who wanted to do a quick work out before class. Both students hadn’t been here before which wasn’t uncommon for first years. The doors were closed on the first day they arrived and both of them were still building and getting to know their teams after all. Usually the place was filled with second and third years that discovered the useful machinery and tried to teach a certain move to a Pokémon, but they too started out with sparring against each other and come up with techniques to use in battle. Because they had an early break due to the accident that happened with Ryan, the place was almost empty. A few students that had a free period were visible from outside. The Training Facility was a large, mainly open area. The place was filled with sunlight that came through the giant glass dome right above the open space. Next to them, on both sides, were staircases leading to the upper floor. ((There are only 2 floors)). The upper floor was as big as the ground floor, but didn’t cover it entirely. If a student would stand directly under the dome he or she could see parts of the equipment on the upper floor. The only thing that kept students from falling down was a fence made of glass. Luckily it was heavy enough and bulletproof so even if something went wrong damage was kept to a minimum. The second floor mainly had equipment to train strength; weights, punching bags, press benches, … Some of them were normal ones like you find in every gym so students could use them as well, others were specially build for Pokémon. Kenny and Robert couldn’t see it from where they were standing, but Tyron was training his Aggron there. It was a basic exercise where Aggron walked forward while being held back by as much weight as possible. Tyron’s Mienshao was hitting a punching bag with a special design so she wouldn’t rip through it. The rest of the equipment was mostly made for stamina. Pokémon and students could run next to each other or use one of the home trainers. All of them had a label with maximum weight allowed. ((Only smaller Pokémon can go on a home trainer. Aggron would break it in 2 seconds)). There were also special machines that threw punches. Of course the punches weren’t that hard so if it hit a Pokémon damage was limited. The smallest machine could throw 10 punches from different locations while the largest had a limit of 50. ((Two can train at the same time at this one)) The ground floor focused more on special moves. Each piece of equipment had more space and its own area. The opposite from the punching machine was here. Big Whack-A-Diglett machines were standing against the wall to help aiming. There was also an entire display of equipment like Choice items (Scarf, Specs, Band) and Life Orbs. ((Every item used in competitive does exactly the same to help with training)). Aside from the equipment and machines there were 5 doors. Each one had a symbol and words on it. Two doors were on the left, far from each other, and two on the right. They each led to a separate room. One of them, far left, was the entrance to the swimming pool. There was also a machine that made waves and to help with general water attacks. Another one, far right, was made for ground moves and had heavily reinforced walls and roof. The closest one to the right helped with electric attacks. There was one specific machine that made sure to absorb all electrical power that missed the targets and was used as a power source. The fourth door, closest on the left, did the same for fire attacks. This one had a sprinkler system that ran between the ‘water room’ and the ‘fire room’. The fifth door led to what students liked to call ‘the head of the turtle’. ((From a birds point of view the building looks like a turtle)). It was the only cylinder shaped room and was used to train flying type attacks or as a hard target practice. One of the popular methods was to throw discs on the turbine and the Pokémon had to hit a flying target. ((I might come up with more machines for special training, but if it makes sense I’ll allow you to invent your own if you want. Or you can ask me a request and I’ll make it))
  4. Working on it. For some reason I always want to type Reborn instead of Robert...
  5. Through special training. I'll get to the Training Facility in a bit when I have the time if you want to enter it now. Also not all battles are doubles.
  6. Not possible. There isn't any village / town up there and it could be dangerous for inexperienced travelers. Aside from that there isn't a qualified leader yet, but all of that will be explained in Chapter 3. There are other reasons as well but I can't explain them right now.
  7. So you want to visit the training facility? I guess it's time I described what's in there...
  8. @Kenny: The arena is closed and only opens when the tournaments start. Also I think Raiza is still on the rooftop. xD
  9. I just looked it up and I completely forgot what happened in Fate/stay night xD Also that Lancer doesn't look very interesting to use.
  10. What about characters that already made an appearance in the anime? It's been a while since I watched it but I remember the one with Gilgamesh and how Lancer 'died'. I think it would make an interesting story if that Lancer made an appearance again.
  11. Devin interfered with the battle and everyone is already back at the Academy. You have a little free time before I move everyone to the Boulder Hills so you can catch a Pokémon and interact with some others.
  12. If it's learned by level up there are no restrictions. The others should just mention they did training for it if they want to. Or if they want I'll describe what's in the training facility but at this point that's just something extra.
  13. When Devin entered Redwoods lab, he was greeted by the Professor, both assistants and Phoebe. “Ah, Devin, excellent timing,” Redwood said. “Rebecca took the injured student to the hospital and he broke his ankle. We were just discussing what to do to get him along on the trip to the Boulder Hills. Any ideas?” “I would first like to apologize that this happened. My group of Haxorus repeated their little trick again but this time I wasn’t around. When I finally found them it was already too late,” Devin explained. Redwood mused for a second. “Don’t blame yourself, old friend. Accidents happen. In all the years you’ve been here this is the first time something like this happened. We should be glad it didn’t happen in the Hills.” “About that,” Brendan interrupted. He was sitting at a computer and reading his email. “I just received a notification from Miss Welsh. She called an emergency board meeting tomorrow at 2 PM. She expects you to be there, Professor.” Phoebe made a hissing sound, but Redwood didn’t seem surprised. “She moves fast as always. I’m not surprised. Tell her I’ll be there and contact Miss Blake. I’m sure she’s already stressed enough and I feel bad to add this to her to do list, but if we don’t prepare a room and receive them properly she’s going to use that against me.” Brendan nodded and started typing. Devin opened his mouth again, but this time Professor Redwood cut him off. “I know you want to apologize again but that’s not necessary. She’s been looking for years to get her foot between the doors. If the accident didn’t happen she eventually would’ve found something else. So let’s get to the point and find a solution to get Ryan Johnson on that trip, shall we?” his tone was friendly and final at the same time. “Now; he can move around in his wheelchair and crutches, but that will be a problem in the Hills. We were thinking of using Tyron’s Machamp or your Flygon. What do you say?” “Those are probably our best options, but I think Flygon is the safer bet. The underground in the hills can be unstable and if Machamp trips…” Devin answered. Everyone nodded in agreement when a small beeping noise could be heard. The printer behind Phoebe ran out of paper. “Phoebe, if you want to refill the printer. The paper is lying next to it.” Redwood requested. The Water type expert did what was asked of her. She removed the fresh printed papers and in her curiosity saw the list of first year students with their statistics. “Why do you need this, Professor?” she asked. She took a quick look through it and saw pictures, names, BP points, overall grades, Pokémon the students had and a battle overview. “So much details…” she mumbled. “Isn’t it easier to just look it up on the laptop?” “No, because they are for me and I’ll be using that information during the trip.” It was Devin who replied. “What do you mean? This isn’t helpful at all. It’s just grades and stuff so I don’t see how it can help with Dragons,” Phoebe said. She handed the papers over and lost interest. She obviously hoped to find something more exciting than a bunch of statistics. Devin replied nonetheless. “Two reasons,” he stated. “The first one is that first year students tend to battle people they are familiar with, even during this trip. I want to mix things up a little by letting them battle others. This way it should challenge them when they are facing a style they aren’t familiar with. The second reason is safety. Every year there are students, who are best friends, that don’t pay attention and anger wild Pokémon by accident. Last year we had two students that were having fun by teasing each other and pushing one of the roads. They angered a swarm of Beedrill…” ********* DarkLight, Surge, EXLink and Jory “Speaking of students,” Brendan replied. “There are a few of them headed this way.” He was still sitting behind his laptop, but faced the door. His desk, which he shared with Rebecca, was the first thing students saw when they walked into the hall leading to the lab since the door was always open.
  14. Sounds good to me. You can still change around because I'll be asking about your team when Chapter 3 begins anyway. Entry Hazards and stuff like that are allowed.
  15. Elevator doesn't go to the rooftop so you have to take the stairs. Also I think I'll use Eviolite as a method to train defense or let it work together with Everstone. Something like: Let Avis touch the Everstone to stop evolution and give it a small piece of Eviolite to hold to keep the effect. If you remove it for a long time (48 hours) the effect will take off and Avis can evolve.
  16. No problem. I don't want people to abuse items and to be fair it doesn't make any sense to scarf something in battle so it can only use one move.
  17. I already said items aren't allowed in battles. Eviolite only keeps a Pokémon from evolving and that's the only effect it has.
  18. Logan stepped forward. He actually looked forward to this exercise. During the past three months Ace and Flora became reliable companions while Crush remained a problem. Convinced that these Urban Games could help him convince Crush to listen to him, he answered Surge. “Yes sir!” He then accepted both bags and fell back in line.
  19. You still have classes in the afternoon. It's around lunch right now. And is it just me or is using Aura to let a Pokémon speak a little over the top? Illusion is one thing but Aura... Not sure if the one from the movies could do it, but that's a bit much. Sometimes it makes me wonder who's the trainer: Kenny or Zorro.
  20. She's in Valley City at the moment so there's no way she can reach the Academy that fast. Plus I already have a part in the lab. The only thing I need to do is Devin's thoughts about the PCs...
  21. The S makes perfect sense for a violin. And I've no inspiration to work on the update...
  22. I don't mind if you make references to anime. You can say it's something from Johto or Kanto for all I care. All regions are different on various things, including tv shows.
