  1. It's actually just enough to mention your character did it. All I'm going to do is assign roommates and let the PCs do their own thing. As soon as people actually start exploring they might run into some events. (Mostly the ones that aren't talking to other characters so I'm going to force them to do so)
  2. There are no problems if you use it like this. And as soon as I figured out some interesting roommate pairs, I'll update for those who already made a post. For those who are new: it's basically sharing a small apartment with another person, only the bedrooms are separate.
  3. Don't worry about it too much. I'm introducing the students NPCs and mine PC later to give others a chance at interaction. Not to mention I'm going to bed early because I have to get up early for work. Good luck with your job interview.
  4. June 19, RoG HQ “SIR! I found something! Our systems detected a massive energy peak!” a young man in his early twenties yelled. “What are you talking about?” another man replied. This one was much older and much taller. His grey hair and moustache had a natural intimidating look, but his chubby appearance could easily be mistaken for muscled. Unfortunately for Doc, he was unable to close his lab coat. “The energy we found months ago in the Boulder Hills, but our teams were unable to locate it. A few moments ago our equipment tracked the exact same energy rating, Sir.” “Move,” Doc said while shoving the young member out of his chair. The Head of the Intel and Research Division started to type like he was possessed. In no time different sources of data and graphics popped up, spread out over at least 5 different monitors. The process kept repeating itself over and over until the man's eyes widened in surprise. Suddenly the main screen went black and a voice could be heard from the speakers. “Doc? Why did you call me so suddenly?” “I'm sorry, Boss, but this is important. We found the Dragon Plate!” “What? That's good news! Were our teams finally successfull?” “No, it seems someone beat us. We only found its new location.” “Where?” “Ymora Academy.” The voice on the other side turned silent. “Redwood...” the man hissed before bursting out into laughter. “Perfect! Tell me Doc, do we have some young prodigies for this mission?” Doc didn't reply. Instead his fingers moved over the keyboard in front of him at incredible speed. “These are all our members that have the required age and the ones we can alter a little,” he said as the black screen filled with multiple profiles. Another silence fell as profiles opened and closed. Some stayed longer and were moved to the background only to appear again a few seconds after. Doc wasn't doing anything so the man behind the screen was selecting the members personally. “These two,” he finally spoke up. “Muscles that do everything to get a mission done and a cunning brain... Don't alter their profiles and backgrounds too much this time. It's a long term mission so simplicity is key...” “Understood,” Doc said firmly when the monitor went silent. The scientist turned towards the man he had pulled out of the chair earlier. “You! Get me these two agents ASAP!” August 30, 9 AM, Academy Grounds The past couple of days had been busy for the Academy Staff. All preparations had led to this day. The entrance hall of the Main Building had undergone a gigantic transformation. Multiple desks were lined up in front of the left wall. All of them were equipped with monitors. Two giant wooden boards stood behind the desks. One, on the left, was titled 'Girls Dorm' while the one on the right was called 'Boys Dorm'. Two pair of keycards could be found under each number. The desks were currently occupied by teachers and Redwood's assistants. Some of them were already sighing or wrestling with the, to their taste, much too slow monitors. Others, like Devin Cadmus and Redwood, were standing at the front doors to guide new students in. Every year there were some new students running around with a lost expression on their faces, even though they received clear instructions in their invitation letter: Do not forget to bring your ID with you and make sure you register at one of the desks in the Main Building. You will receive your Official Trainer Card, Pokédex and Dorm Keycard from one of the staff. After this is done, all students are free to explore the Academy Grounds at free will. We do ask you not to enter the Forest as it can be dangerous for inexperienced students. Outside the building a path led straight from the entrance hall towards the Main Gates.Tyron was standing there, looking nervously at his watch. Redwood had given him clear orders; open the gate at 9 AM exactly, no matter how many people had already gathered. And like every year there were quite a few people lined up, waiting for Tyron to open the gate, which made the Handyman even more nervous. It got even to the point he started to count down the seconds on his watch. A big sigh could be heard from the tall and atlethic looking man. Sweat dripped from his forehead onto his training suit. Every few seconds he attempted to dry his slippery hands by rubbing over his pants. But when the clock finally hit 9, he opened the gate with a firm grip. A large smile appeared on his face as he yelled his favorite sentence: “WELCOME TO YMORA ACADEMY!”
  5. in 7 months I'm not accepting him anymore. A shiny Dratini wtf... Also the first chapter is going up in a few minutes. I'm started just like last year: free movement for students in the first chapter.
  6. I still have to talk about it with Dobby. It's on my list. (Ragnar is the only one on the reserve list left as I didn't hear anything from that Dratini guy) Meet the new teacher: Name: Archibald Fisher Age: 53 Appearance: A chubby man who doesn't care about his looks. He always wears a worn out suit that's a size short because of his belly. The little gray hair he has left is usually uncombed and he has a bald spot in the middle of his head. He has brown eyes and a disapproving frown on his face. The circles under his eyes make him look even older. Personality: An old bitter man that hates loud students that usually mumbles something about 'annoying brats' and doesn't care if people hear him. He also seems to hold a grudge against Devin Cadmus and only shows gratitude towards Redwood. Aside from that Archibald usually keeps to his own and barely socializes with his colleagues. When he isn't teaching, he's either yelling at students or in his room. The only thing he seems to enjoy is reading and quiet places. Classes: Economics and Medicine Pokémon: Roserade. Backstory: Not much is known about Archibald Fisher. At one point he used to be a trainer. Old newspaper articles about a young Archibald can be found from when he won some local tournaments. He was referred to as an upcoming and talented trainer. However the last article that can be found about him, is from when he was 21 years old. “Favorite loses in first round”. “Never stood a chance”. On the picture Archibald's face hangs in shame. Extra: Rumor goes that he's heavily indebted to Redwood because all of his belongings are in the male dorms where he lives.
  7. *revives from the dead* Well I'm surprised to see Dobby, Commander and Azery didn't blow the forums up. As soon as I finish some small things, I'll update the NPC overview and start writing chapter 1.
  8. Well thanks for letting us know in advance Bfroger and good luck with your studies. If you wish I can add you to the reserve list just in case? That means WildChalice can participate from the start if she's still up for it. Aside from that I'll see you guys -hopefully- on Monday. I just hope the provider doesn't mess things up again so I can start chapter 1.
  9. I'm not without internet yet. Where does that Graveler get all those Geodudes?
  10. I'll just leave the spotlight for someone else. And let Joey brag about how Ishmael stopped the hyperbeam
  11. I'm moving this weekend and the provider messed up (again) so I won't have any internet / TV at least until Monday. And my phone is a dinosaur so I don't have any internet on it either.
  12. Official announcement: Due to certain circumstances, Cyaloom is taking Darvan's place. I'm not going into further detail so I would like the subject to be dropped in the OOC. Also because of certain people being incapable at their job, I won't have any internet access this weekend so the IC might be delayed. Try to play nice while I'm not here.
  13. Did you read this topic? http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10285 Basically everything is covered in there. But the strikes / warnings I give are a bit different based on the severity. - Strikes: Metagaming is the biggest one. Everything that you do to gain an advantage (and isn't like your character). Also disrupting other people's events and conversation, interfering and / or finishing before they had a chance ... Consider this to be things you can do wrong in the IC and is really annoying and disrespectful for others. Another way to get strikes is by BSing around with a character that already got accepted for example. There are a lot of situations in the OOC that can get you in trouble as well. Usually it's a very light version of disrespect towards someone's live. For example if you keep complaining that Player A is again holding things up for the second time in 4 days. For all you know Player A has a busy schedule at that time so it's disrespectful and I'll give you a strike. However if you disrespect me / Dobby or a Player in a very offensive way, you're out immediately. This includes everything you can hurt someone with. Last time we had someone who outright hated gay people and made very nasty comments about them. I'm 100% straight, but not everyone involved in this RP is. Any hate comments on sexuality and you're done. Same thing for religion etc. This is a RP where people are supposed to have fun. Ruin it for others and you're out. This also counts outside this RP. I don't need someone who spread arounds the hatred. If I see any prove that a player disrespects someone or is very offensive, I don't care if it happened in the OOC or via PM. All that person gets is a PM from me to inform them and I will make announcement in the OOC stating that a certain person has been removed. I'm not even going into discussion or tell everyone the reason why. (Chances are everyone in here already knows though)
  14. Darvan, consider this your first warning point for this RP. I'm not in the mood nor am I willing to deal with people trying to find a way to meta. Be glad I'm holding myself to the 3 strike system I implemented or I would've swapped you straight out for Cyaloom.
  15. Yes no problem, but your character is on the back up list. If a player drops out, Dobby or I will contact you to say you can actually post since we can only handle 15 characters.
  16. It's up to you. If you still want to go (semi) mono fire, but don't want to because of the NPC, I can still change it. Edit: I closed the sign-ups.
  17. What kind of changes? Because if there are any big chances, we have to take a look at it again. One of the new NPCs has a fire mono.
  18. You forgot the starting side. Also no dragon types as a starter. I mentioned Dratini as a borderline Pokémon between friendly dragon and brutal dragon, but not acceptable as a starter. Add the ability, nature (if you want) and a moveset. But yeah, Dobby and I aren't going to handle 15+ people so you'll character will be placed on the reserve list for when someone has to drop out. I don't see any problems. I'll talk about it with Dobby and if he also gives his approval, your character will also join the reserve list.
  19. Get a Lickitung. I can already see hilarious situations with a character like Citrine. Also Redwood, Devin and Tyron have been added to the NPC overview. Redwood and Devin are still the same while Tyron had a change in team members. Archibald Fisher will soon join them if I can finish his appearance.
  20. I'll take a look at your character in a minute. I'm closing the sign-ups Monday. Dobby and I were thinking we can handle 15 people and we got 15 decent characters that met the requirements. Now last time there were also people dropping out so everyone who wants to sign-up, can do so until Monday but will be placed on a 'reserve' list. Ragnar is the exception since I gave him more time. But he, if he still wants to apply, will be placed on the reserve list as well. (If he gets accepted)
  21. What Kenny said. You can be a young RoG agent who has a mission in the Academy. Later down the line you can have regret or whatever and switch sides. Or you can join them when they offer you cookies. Or you just stay on the same side.
  22. You sound like an over protective dad xD 'If you hurt my daughter, I will shoot you!' Anyway, I'm almost finished with 3 new NPCs. Compared to last time Phoebe and all the student NPCs have been removed. The only exception is Matt (RoG) but I barely used him last time. Tyron's team also changed so no more mono fighting. I'll try to add all relevant NPCs this weekend. After that the new ones will be added to the NPC list when they make an appearance.
  23. What Dobby said. Just switching between Coordinator / Trainer / Breeder is never a problem, but the tweaks you do to the backstory can be important. I'd say keep Citrine. I enjoyed her during the short YGO RP and she doesn't seem to have sueish traits. It's just that last time I had Evan to piss people off, Henry who turned everyone into an enemy and Alvin to annoy everyone. Now I don't have Alvin anymore and his replacement is a mixture between Phoebe and is really outgoing. She might make an interesting pair with Citrine.
