  1. I found him inside the smashable rocks in front of and around the Apophyll Academy, which makes sense, because you are on a beach, and looking for a hermit crab.
  2. The concept of the Unknown has always been interesting. The Unknown are a sort of psychic collective. Each individual is practically an invalid on its own. But with the hundreds to thousands collected in the third movie, and the dozens surrounding Arceus in the manga, you create the reality warping hive-mind. In the pokedex entrees, the mention that no one knows which came first, writing, or the unknown, which is interesting, in that it could be that people influenced the characteristics of Unkown, or that humans in the pokemon world based language off of pokemon. But as for the Unknown being the only "real" pokemon...I think that their is too much contradicting the theory. In the Sinnoh based games, their is a legend that says pokemon and humans once sat at the same table, their being no difference between the two. While in the original Japanese, the legend actually mentions marriage between human and pokemon, because the were originally one and the same. Which had led some people to think humans in the pokemon world evolved (the Darwinian way) from pokemon, and not apes. Which would mean that pokemon were already part of nature, long before the dreams of humans influenced their grand design. In my opinion, I saw the seen in the HeartGold/SoulSilver mange as a sign that the Unknown were Arceus' method of implementing his will and power, rather than creating a new Arceus. Arceus could just as easily have been teleported from his resting place by the Unknown. The Unknown probably doing so instinctively due to the 16 plates being collected. Showing that the Unknown are close to Arceus, but not above his power.
  3. Well Spiritomb is a ghost, and he comes out of a rock... when you use the keystone. I guess I can say that a the odd keystone, is just that. A key, and usually you have to put a key into something. In the main game he is supposed to represent the bits of spirits gained from the people you met in the underground. In reborn, I am not sure, he might just be an amalgamation of spirits you've come across. In any case, I have always thought Spiritomb was weird, even for a ghost pokemon.
  4. English: Two Door Cinema Club – Cigarettes In The Theatre The Postal Service – Such Great Heights Calvin Harris – Flashback Japanese: Utada Hikaru & M-Flo – Final Distance (remix) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwHFpcEwaXw&feature=player_detailpage
  5. Could this be a sign of a flying sequence in Reborn? Like what Pokemon Ash Grey did, except cooler? Since we have these characters flying on dragons and climbing mountains on the head of a Steelix, begs the question, "Where is my player character and how is he/she seeing this?" Even if we didn't see ourselves flying, (Which I would love) having an HM 02 Fly activated even t would be awesome! Like we would have to teach fly to a pokemon, talk to an NPC, and activate a cut scene with the fly animation and have us fly up the mountain.
  6. Munchlax comes from headbutted trees. Which I always thought was funny, since I don't think a Snorlax could climb a tree without crushing it.
  7. I'm going to be a 3rd year, and the first two years were tough, not going to lie. But now that I can start taking more specialized courses and start thinking about senior research, it is really interesting. I want to work more with renewable energy, which is why I am interning at a Bio-Fuel/Renewable Power company. Also, thank you everyone for the warm welcome!
  8. So I joined this forum last week after finishing episode 8, and now wanted to become more involved in the online community. I used to play a lot of Pokemon Online, Shoddy Battle too back in gen 4, and then switched to Showdown after smogon integrated it. Have dabbled in Wifi-battles with my white 2, but usually just thrash my friends via IR. But I would like to take on the Reborn League at some point, so I will probably download PO again. A little bit about me, I am a Electrical Engineering major and am live in the Washington D.C. metro area. Probably will be posting when I have down time at my internship, like right now. XD In my free time besides online stuff, I used to teach Tae Kwon Do, play tennis, drag my friends to the gym, and practice with my friend's dance crew. (If you weren't able to tell,I am really, really Asian) My Top 5 Favorite Pokemon 1.Flygon 2.Tyranitar 3.Latios 4.Arcanine 5.Amphoros (It's adorable, what can I say) Other Fandoms: I played Yugioh for way too long, and was pretty high ranked on Dueling Network up until the latest banlist came out. Although I have sort of lost interest in the current meta-game. My best friend dragged me down and I became a casual brony. Also and a big super hero buff, and have a spider-man themed phone and car. Nobody tattoo on right shoulder blade. KHIII trailer renewed my faith in humanity. Much love people, ~Jay
  9. Oh, did I write Ivysaur last time? Yeah I evolved it already. But the grinding for me was just annoying around lvl 40, so I stopped and moved onto Gastly. Oh yeah, You are right about sludge wave, since I remembered Aya used it with her Gengar, I just assume it could use the TM, but then it turns out Sludge wave is a Dream World move for Gastly, which I think is sort of unfair. Somehow Aya got a Gastly from spooky manor in the dream world, but whatever. I didn't mean to diss Venasaur, I love the thing, but after using petal dance and double edge a ton of times, I was really sort of annoyed with recoil and confusion. So I decided that a training a Gengar was going to a better use of time than breeding a new Bulbasaur. I too would like to breed gigadrain, but since I have a male Venasaur, I would fist have to breed a female one. 1/8 chance of that, and then I would need to breed for gigadrain and chlorophyll. As for Trapinch, it is sort of a challenge, but I promissed myself I would love the crap out of this thing after Voltorb flipping the 10,000 coins needed for it. It's speed isn't really a problem, because I just go to the Wasteland and dig on a bunch of Ekans, Arbok, (also helps that they always seem to use swallow first turn) Grimer, and Muk. It's atk is awesome for an unevolved pokemon, so it is a labor of love. It also helps that I have a Jolly nature, so I know once it evolves, it will wreck.
  10. Pokemon I recommend for first Gym battle vs Julia: Ralts, while not good yet, it will serve you well once evolving. Spinda Whismur Trubbish (Although I just used it as fodder) Magby for the Magnemite
  11. Thanks Desper, your thoughts are very helpful. Yes, I mentioned that I am not using Sun because I do have the option of breeding for chlorophyll, but also because Venasaur's learn set also seems to use sun as a crutch. Growth, Synthesis, and SolarBeam are three great options for Venasaur, that when used in sun, go from good/barely usable to great. While you do have a point that Gengar's fragility is a problem, I decided to keep him due to couple are reasons: Ground and Normal immunities help, and already having the TMs for sludge wave and shadow ball, and lastly, the ease of grinding. While training my Ivysaur, I found that the coverage provided by its learn-set is virtually non existent. The best place I've found for grinding it is in caves, where pokemon such as Geodude, Sanslash, and Onix, all take super effective damage grass. But the Zubats and Golbats that pop up are a nightmare for my green friend. 4x resisting grass and all having stab wing attacks. All this time I was having, what I can only call some poke-ralated PTSD flashes from remembering my Venasaur faint from a sheer cold from Lorelei in my Fire Red Nuzlocke. As for Flygon, yes, I am currently having my Trapinch nicknamed DragonZord hold an everstone. Flygon is my favorite pokemon, so I am keeping him for fun more than anything else. He also has great synergy with Gyarados and Gengar, because the Stab Earthquake will come in handy down the line, since I know many of the gym leaders have had to be fought in doubles battles. Starraptor, while hitting harder with 120 base atk, I feel relies too much on recoil moves, and is another liability when facing electric types, such as those belonging to the Doctor. Gyarados, already is 4x weak to electric, and I would rather keep him than say, train up a Swampert. Flygon on the other hand, will them hard. Thanks for the advice.
  12. ^This is da best thing! WOO!
  13. Just leave Spindle Town, you'll see. Just get it so all the monitors are on.
  14. H-Badger (Typhlosion) lv. 53 Flash Fire Yuna (Gardevoir) lv. 52 Synchronize Carpy (Gyrados) lv 51 Intimidate Tweeter (Unfezent) lv 49 Super Luck Auriol (Lucario) lvl 35 Steadfast Sprout (Ivysaur) lvl 28 Overgrow This is my current team. Unfezent will be replaced with Flygon once I finish training up Lucario. My question is if I should keep Ivysaur. I managed to get a timid Gastly, but honestly, Gengar isn't one of my prefered pokemon. I also don't want to lose my Fire/Grass/Water defensive core. But on the other hand, Ivysaur has overgrow, and also since I am not using a sun team, Venasaur would not be used to the fullest.
  15. You use the mining kit and mine the glowing rocks just like in D/P/PT.
  16. My strategy for Serra was just, Flamethrower everything...so I feel like I am missing something here. While I am a competitive battler, I don't feel like meta-game strategies are really warranted yet. Now...when when we have to fight that friggen Garchomp again, I might have to train up new team members. This game's draw is, in part, it's difficulty. Would you be posting about the last gym leader if you had just breezed through the game so far? No. Because that would be dull. This game is awesome because the player is meant to be getting better all the way through. While I did fight Serra, 4 times I believe, I never felt she was impossible. *Probably because of my Honey-Badger (Typholsion) and Calm Mind Yuna (Gardevoir). Spamming hyper potions and revives doesn't seem like fun to me, but if you want to win that way, I see nothing wrong with it. This is just a game, so you are in charge of how much you enjoy it. At the same time, ripping through the game with a Sun Team could also be fun.
  17. First off, impossible is sort of a stretch. Second, Heart Scales are rare in any pokemon game. I don't think I've heard of them being in smashable rocks, but you can occasionally find them by mining. Although, since they are small, finding them is really about luck. Also, from what you're saying, I doubt you are far enough to do this, but Luvdisc usually hold Heart Scales. I have gotten a couple from catching them.
  18. Named my Gastly, NotCool. My character probably needs therapy after that. I knew I would have to save that second link stone for Gengar, but after that ordeal, I'm not so sure. This Gastly is sort of a dick.

    Money Troubles

That sounds good to me. Although to be honest, I would be fine if I could just sell back the coins once I win them. Because after getting Trapinch, I have about 1200 coins I don't need. XD Also Levels 7-8 of voltorb flip are the most stressful things ever, but the pay off is great.

    Money Troubles

This is awful? Why would I give my pokemon to a butcher if I am trying to get another pokemon? WHY WOULD YOU KILL YOUR PET TO BUY A NEW PET? McMc, why would you make Ame cry? That is from Pokemon My Ass Version, which is just a cluster f*ck of bad taste which ends with the player character raping the rival, so I am not going to even take that seriously. Anyway, I got trapinch, after 55 min of voltorb flips.

    Money Troubles

Thanks Ame, as for the slot machines, I've been playing them, that's why I have like 3900 coins instead of 3500. And I did find quite a few coins on the ground. I guess I was just used to buying coins in the gen III games because money was just so readily available, through vs seeker, or just battling the Elite 4 again. But I guess this is just one of the things that will make Reborn more fun for me, because I am going to love the crap out of this Trapinch when I get it. AND I WILL GET IT!
  22. So I've finished episode 8 and want to buy enough coins to get Trapinch from the game corner. Little problem, as the most expensive prize, he costs 10,000 coins. At 10,000 pokedollars per 500 coins, you need 200,000 pokedollars to afford him. Which is a ton of dough, by any pokemon game standards. At this point, I have a little less than 4,000 coins. Is there any place where I can re-battle more trainers for money? Or has anyone found any big nuggets or rare bones I could find, then sell? At this point, I have battled all the trainers I could find, and done most of the mining. Will my dream of having Flygon on my team have to wait until Episode 9 or later?
  23. I would suggest picking up the Riolu, since the fighting coverage would do you good, also a priority move like extreme speed would be nice. Edit:Nevermind about Extreme Speed, Lucario gets that at 65. But Aura Sphere at 51 would be great for you.

    Episode 9

4 story lines? Awesome! I thought their might have to be two, depending on whether we fought the doctor or not in the last episode. But 4? This just means I am going to have to do a second play-through. Ame, you are the best!
  25. I am interested how your Sun Team will do against Cal, although that is a very long ways off.
