  1. I got a 2100 on my SAT 3 years ago. I guess I did alright, but my class average was 2200. I understand that will sound insane to most people, but considering my high school is regardered as the top magnet school in the US, a perfect score in one or two subjects is pretty much expected. (Fun fact, this year's freshman class at my high school will be 63% Asian or Pacific Islander) Because of my top tier surroundings, I never really took pride in my score. Not that it really matters...the SAT is not a good indication of how well you will do in college, let alone how successful you will be in life. It only shows how well you take tests. Which is a good skill, and I wish I had it, but it is just that. A skill. Not a real sign of intellegence or scholastic knowledge. So people who score lower should not feel bad, and high scoring people should feel proud, but not cocky. Just my thoughts.
  2. I don't mean to be rude, but I don't think you should complain about the difficulty if you choose to play with a handicap. As in not using a full team of six pokemon. Even if you don't like one member, as in the case of Scraggy vs Florinia, you made the decision not to use a pokemon that would have made a battle easier.
  3. I think my first shiny was an Octilary in Emerald Version. Woo...exciting, right? But the first one I really cared about was my Shiny Totodile starter in Heart Gold. I paid my sister two dollars to keep turning the game on and off until my starter was either a Jolly or Adament Totodile. After about 5-10 minutes, she came up to me and asked, "Why is this one green and not blue?" I leveled that Fraliagter up to lvl 100 and two of its grand kids have rotating spots on my RU team. (one swords dance and one Dragon Dance set) Since then, I have collected about a dozen shinys. But my Feralgatr named Jade Knight (after my favorite Yugioh card at the time) will always have a specially place in my heart/shiny box.
  4. I have not really gotten into breeding in Reborn, just because I think I can manage without it, and usually only breed when I am building a competitive Wifi team. I never really use breeding until after my initial play through of a game. Like in how FireRed and LeafGreen, as well as Black 2 and White 2, it wasn't even available until post game. So here is my team: DragonZord (F) -lvl 56 Nature: Jolly Ability: Levitate Earthquake Rock Slide Dragon Claw Crunch H-Badger (M) -lvl 55 Nature: Bashful Ability: Flash Fire Swift Quick Attack Flamethrower Lavaplume Sith (M) -lvl 55 Nature: Timid Ability: Levitate Hypnosis Dream Eater Shadow Ball Dark Pulse Carpy (M) -lvl 55 Nature: Jolly Ability: Intimidate Ice Fang Bite Aqua Tail Dragon Dance Yuna (F) -lvl 55 Nature: Quirky Ability: Synchronize Charge Beam Psychic Magical Leaf Calm Mind Auriol (M) -lvl 55 Nature: Bashful Ability: Steadfast Aura Sphere Close Combat Bone Rush Swords Dance So yeah, that is my current line up. As far as the move sets go...I am probs going to replace aura sphere with extreme speed on Lucario, at lvl 63. I would teach Gardevoir shadow ball, but it isn't really granting any more coverage...And I've expressed my concern about Typholsion's need for accessable TMs in other topics, but since he was my starter, I am not planning on replacing my honey badger. Because, you know, he doesn't give a shit. All and all, I got pretty lucky, no breeding, three great natures and three neutral. I enjoy seeing how different (or not different) people's in game teams are. Catch'em all poke people!
  5. All Mr. Biggles wanted was a hug, and all I did was kill him with Fire...and water too, just to be safe.

    1. Garnet.

      Garnet.

      lololright

    2. Ackalacka

      Ackalacka

AH AM MR.BIGGLES! LEAVE MEH! *Proceeds to try to kill you, then says: "I JUST WANTED A HUG!" Lies I tell you, all lies...

    3. Ackalacka

      Ackalacka

Also Mr. Biggles was a female for me... I know I shouldn't question other peoples life styles but...

  6. Tonight-two parties, airsoft match in the morning. Also meeting friend at gym and movies tomorrow night....Sleep is for the weak.

  7. Okay, from the pokemon you have, I would use Scrafty, Gengar, and Espeon as my core. But right away, with the three pokemon you must have, I see a potential problem with grass types. You could give Manectric fire fang from the move tutor, but I feel like it might be a waste of a heart scale, since Manetric's attack is less than stellar. I recommend using a fire type, such as the Magmar you have. The issue there is that without magmarizor and another link stone, Magmar can't evolve. Fire is a great offensive type, but if you don't want to train up another pokemon, you could use Drapion, for the grass type check. Although, I suppose a grass counter is not competely nessisary, until we eventually face Laura, that is.
  8. I really enjoyed this episode. It just pisses me off that people are targetting pokemon sites. This has quickly become my favorite pokemon experience in a long time, and the first online anything where I didn't have a second thought about donating to. Ame, we really appreciate all your effort, and I will keep showing my friends this game!
  9. I am curious about the move sets, and why you want to replace your current team in the first place? But for balance alone, I prefer to only have one flying type. I am also curious how you did against Serra, just because half your team has that ice weakness. Though with episode 8 finished, it shouldn't be that much of an issue. If you are going for a paraflinch set on Togekiss, keep it, but if you have an adament crobat with acrobatics and cross poison, it might be more useful. In the flying type's place I would put... maybe a Scrafty? Depends on what coverage you want, really. Magmar's stats are a little sub par for me, but if you could evolve it, Magmotar is a great special sweeper.

    Episode 9

Okay, do you have big root on Servine? Because it is a known glitched item, so if you take it off, you should be fine. The item called the link stone is available later in the game, evolutionary stone that used for pokemon that evolve via trade. Judging by the fact you said servine, you probs don't have your third badge, after you get it there will be a person you can buy 1 link stone from at the grand staircase. Another is available in front of the Yureyu building.
  11. Episode 9 had a lot of moves have animation now, that previously did not. I noticed flamethrower, shadow ball, close combat and agility all had animations. Probably more moves have been updated, but those were just the ones I noticed right before finishing the episode.
  12. Trying to resist the urge play episode 9 at work, and failing

  13. I enjoyed Madoka, and rewatched it recently. I have noticed that many of the break out hits of the last few years have been either deconstructions/parodies or reimagining of typical anime archetypes. Starting with the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya which took slice of life high school anime and became the funny super world wide phonenominon. Nearly forming the crazed Otaku image the characters were afaird Haruhi would create. Then we have Tengen Toppa Guren Laggan, which took the Mecha Anime formula and punched it in its face, while believing in the me that believed in you. Of course Madoka which made magical girl animes culturally relavent again. And as of late, we have Attack on Titan (Shingeki no Kyojin) which has nearly rewritten the standard Shonen style. I was really surprised when I found out that Weekly Shonen Jump rejected publishing it because the story and art style were too dark. It's popularity has seemed to take off, seemingly because to those traits and how it seems to maintain its realism while depicting such a harsh, violent, and bleak world. The idea that the vast majority of characters are foot soldier without any special powers fighting a titanic(lawl) threat is really interesting. I would love for new series to learn from Attack's as well as these other series willingness to break convention. However what is more likely is that we will have a multitude of series blantently ripping off Attack, just like others have done to every hugely popular series. Hopefully we won't have tons of steampunk monster hunting series by next year. Sorry if this post is long. XD
  14. Feel dumb for not seeing the status box until now. Kept wondering if I should ask someone how to update my status. XD

  15. That feel when Poke-place goes down, probably due to the expected release of episode 9 of Reborn, and comes back online after five days, but their is still no episode 9. *cry* But seriously, hope someone tells Ame the site is back up, ASAP. But I have faith that episode 9 will be worth the wait, and hope the site doesn't go down again!
  16. Corey does not give you the badge, and since he is gone now, *lite spoiler* his badge would be invalidated anyway. If you have talked to Victoria and Shelly in Shelly's room, she would have told you to go to the orphanage to see the Doctor, go there and complete that plot point, then return to Shelly's room and talk to her again.
  17. Your team has some good coverage and it is nice to see a Primeape, since so many people seem to be using Scrafty as their fighting type. Using a grass/fire/water core is a classic choice. I do have some notes/suggestions. Half your team has a weakness to rock, i.e. Leavanny, Charizard, and Gyrados. That strikes me as a red flag, although that might just be for the universal use of stealth rocks in competitive battling. While that might not give you too many issues in game, it might be something to think about, especially when taking on Hardy eventually. Your moveset on Gigalith is also sort of counter productive in my opinion. Gigalith is the only memeber of your team that is immune to sandstorm. Sandstorm support to counter weather might be good in say, the RU metagame, but if you could reteach it stealth rock, I believe that is the superior support move. Also, mud slap being a 20 base power special move, is less than useless. You might as well be using sand-attack. Almost anything would be better, for instance, I use rock smash on my Boldore, just for outside of battle use, and even that would probably be more useful with 40 base power, using gigaliths massive atk, and having a chance to lower defense.
  18. I am going to give this a shot, and be as realistic as possible. I am going to base this on a form change. Because normally, I am not suited for battle, but after training for a few weeks, like I do before an MMA match, I am a different person. Honestly though, pulling my punches is second nature to me, so I feel like I would need to be EV trained to get the most out my atk. But if anyone were to think of themselves in a fight and go all out, wouldn't that warrant a form change? My type: Fighting/Electric (I do MMA and am an Electrical Engineering Major, haha) HP: I haven't been sick in, I'm going to say...five years...so I guess that is pretty good. But if I were in a fight, I know I burn out faster. Base 110 (Normal) (Base 80 Atk Form) Atk: Black belt in tae kwon do, and green in Brazilian Jujitsu. Base 90 (Normal) (Base 125 Atk form) Def: I have a pretty high pain tolerance, but I feel like that has more to do with my personality than my actual body.Base 80. (Base 100 Atk form) Sp. Atk: I could make the argument that being an Asian Engineer makes me smart, but I feel like it is better to be aware than smart. I am seldom in situations where I have to outsmart other people, and don't really have to use my intelligence to do much more than math... But when it comes to fighting, I really am sort of a simple fighter. I would love to someday be a more analytical and intelligent fighter, but as it is now...I run on muscle memory and training. Base 80 (Normal) (Base 50 Atk Form) Sp. Def: I don't think about insults really...Honestly been a while since I heard one, at least to my face. I am going to do a base 90 for both forms, just because I am really not sure. Speed: I am sort of a big guy, I would not say slow, but I usually run more distance. So base 90 both forms. Ability: Adaptability, for STAB of 2x rather than 1.5x. Reasoning is simple, I have always advocated specialty. I do a few things well, so what I lack in coverage, I make up for in performing certain things better than most. Tier: So with this spread, that would put me as a bulky attacker, with the ability to boost hardest hitting moves. I would like to say OU, but will probably sink down to UU due to being slower than Haxorous and no access to dragon dance (since I am not any form of lizard) or priority moves. Since I really doubt I could see my pokemon self using extreme speed or bullet punch. Learn Set would take too long to think of so...Most likely moveset: (Atk Form) Jump Kick Wild Charge Ice Punch Bulk Up (Normal Form) Low Sweep Spark Ice Punch Bulk Up
  19. Well, the Unknown yield one Atk and one Sp. Atk EV each, which is good if you are training a mixed attacker. So under the grand staircase? EV training in this game is tough, with no power Items, and I am not sure about the availability of pokerus.
  20. I sure hope they do, I spent all my money on Proteins and Calcium...I REGRET NOTHING!
  21. Tyranitar used stone edge. It's super effective!
  22. Glaceon used Ice Beam. It's super effective!
  23. I went with Cyndaquil, just because I wanted to have a fire type, but still make the game relatively challenging. I would say Typhlosion's biggest down side is his movepool. You are going to want a special nature, but I find myself limited at times with its normal/fire coverage. Typhlosion is one of the pokemon who suffers from the lack of TMs in this game... Don't get me wrong, Typholsion is still easy enough to win with, and fire is by far the easiest type to start with. As for Snivy and Bulbasaur, I feel like Snivy will be less useful against Fern's Snivy, and Bulbasaur is available relatively soon in the game. While Ame has said all the starters will be available eventually, it really does come down to which one you like.
  24. Looking at your team, I would go with Jolteon. Even if you have Drought on Ninetails, water attacks can still be trouble, especially with two fire types. Also, with fighting overlap, it would be good to have a flying type check, although Glaceon could also serve that role, and check a glaring ground type weakness your team has. Half your team will get wrecked by earthquake, so if you chose Jolteon, I recommend replacing one of the members weak to ground. I honestly recommend breeding another Eevee, and raising 2, then switching them based on your needs/next gym battle but it is up to you.

The Unknowns are sort of inconsistent for my taste, since they range from 20-50. I like using the smashable rocks in Pyrous mountain, the ones that don't affect lava flow will always have level 35 Macargos. Which are good for about 1000 exp points until theyou get to the low 40s. And they are slow as anything. Just look out for their flame body.
