  1. Sonny grinned as he saw Jake approaching him. Over the past few weeks, he'd seen a marked improvement in the student's behavior. While he was still headstrong as ever and clearly had some kind of issue with authority, his battling skills had progressed immensely and he was clearly dedicated to his studies. The scout held a lot of empathy for students whose biggest enemies were themselves, and there was no doubt in Sonny's mind that Jake was one of those. "I really don't know, Jake. Alina's kept me in the dark about this just as much as she has you," he said, his grin curling into a dissatisfied frown at his own mention of Alina.
  2. @Grass, I just had an awesome idea. Try switching the white with the Weavile coloring, since it's a Normal type and all.
  3. Sonny was already in the gym by the time the bell had rang. He was waiting for Alina to arrive so they could begin conducting the tests for part two of the exam. During the recess, he had watched Lionel and Sarcus battling. And right at the end, he watched Sarcus's Absol take the fall. His expression had softened at that. A leader, he thought to himself. Someone who cares about everyone enough to do something about it. He stood near the bleachers, awaiting the next section as he watched the students begin to file in.
  4. Roland shook his head, clearing his vision. He then looked up at Rhea. "I am fine. It is Alleria you should be concerned about!" he said, pointing in alarm to the beast as it charged toward the mage. The ranger quickly stood up and unslung his bow from his back. He went to raise it, but his face fell as he saw his weapon. The wood had snapped in half, leaving it useless. Roland tossed it to the side and turned to Rhea once more. "I need to get in close. You, Alleria, and Megaira must distract this foul creature." With that, he began to move toward the beast, planning to go pillar to pillar until he was close enough to strike.
  5. What about "Watson," as in the IBM supercomputer that competed on Jeopardy? EDIT: Also, I noticed you misspelled "treat" or used "threat" the wrong way @Chimchain. Perhaps fix it for clarity's sake?
  6. Dru hung back from the rest of the group, looking on with interest. That book is dangerous, he thought to himself, but decided not to share his opinion. The Wind Templar was a headstrong warrior and would not listen to reason, and so the sorcerer saw no reason to intervene. He thought back to how he'd last encountered his friend, Brass. The Victonari had been badly wounded in the battle against the Death Knight, and it had been the amulet Dru had given him that had protected the Earth templar against a mortal wound. Dru absentmindedly levitated a small pebble around his finger as he walked, his mind troubled as he thought back to the Death Knight's aura. It had made the Earth recoil in horror, as though it had never encountered such an abomination before. Had he been able to help, he would have gladly aided in removing the evil being from the world. But, as things were, he simply continued walking.
  7. I too would like in this week.
  8. Jory again nodded in reply. "Absolutely. Let's get moving." With that, Jory began the long trek back to base.
  9. Just for my own purposes, I'm gonna post my team: Oliver- Lv. 21 Nefertiti- Lv. 23 Sampson- Lv. 24
  10. Hang on just a tick. Wasps and hornets are known to commit suicide when they are in extreme pain. I know this because I recently had to use a can of Raid on a group of 1.5" long hornets at the day camp I work at. Each and every one of them chose to kill itself rather than bear that kind of pain. If you still want me to edit it I will, but that's actually scientifically accurate.
  11. Stratos, since the encounter has completed, would you rank it as a Tier 3 or Tier 4?
  12. Jory nodded to Kenny, barely believing what he saw. Ryu's attacks connected cleanly as Oliver slammed down on another queen bee using the same maneuver as before. "Neffi, take down the queen!" The GAO obeyed, beginning to run toward the queen bee. She launched herself at it, bringing both of them to the ground. They wrestled tooth, claw, mandible, and stinger, and eventually the queen ended up on top. Her huge stinger was poised just above Nefertiti's throat when the large insect suddenly slumped over, emitting a soft snoring noise. Jory reacted immediately, wasting no time. "Oliver, use an acrobatic attack on the queen! Finish her!" The lizardlike GAO nodded and leapt high into the air, then slammed down on the queen bee. She was clearly badly injured and would no longer be able to fight. Suddenly, she turned her stinger on herself, repeatedly stabbing at her own abdomen until she stopped moving. Jory let out a huge breath, then smiled at Kenny. "Now that's teamwork." ----------------------------- MOVES USED: Oliver: Acrobatics Ryu: Quick Attack Neffi: Take Down Oliver: Acrobatics
  13. The demon reared its head, the sheer force of this action throwing Roland off of it. Once again he was left dangling by his knives as the bull began its charge toward the pillar. He placed his forearm against the beast's back, searing it on the creature's blood as he pushed off with his legs. The knife slid free with a sickening noise and the ranger fell to the ground, landing hard on his back and rolling to the side. He looked up at the sky, his vision still blurry from disorientation. At least I am alive, he thought to himself, standing up and moving unsteadily back toward his allies.
  14. Eve's stars hit the guard bee squarely, knocking it to the ground but failing to finish it off. "Neffi, now! Bite that thing's head off!" Jory shouted. His GAO complied, rushing over to the bee and crushing its head in between her jaws. The queen turned to watch her hive member die and was caught off guard by Ryu's fiery foot, spiraling to the ground with a char mark on her side. She buzzed loudly, and the honeybees abandoned their attack and began to swarm around her once more. A bright green light enveloped the queen, causing Jory to shield his eyes. When he looked back at their foe, he was shocked to see that the queen had been returned to full fighting capacity. "Oliver, use your acrobatic attacks to begin picking off the honeybees! Kenny, I recommend you get to work on that as well!" Jory commanded. Oliver immediately leapt toward the queen, divebombing a honeybee with a kick and bringing it down quickly. ----------------------------------- MOVES USED: Eve: Swift Neffi: Bite Ryu: Blaze Kick Vespiquen: Heal Order Oliver: Acrobatics
  15. Roland recoiled at the high temperature of the beast's blood, causing his longer knife to come loose. Acting quickly, he sheathed his saxe and and pulled himself up using the handle of the other knife. From this angle he was able to grab onto the beast's horns and vault up to its head, narrowly avoiding its swiping hand. Then, he drew his saxe once more and plunged it toward the joint of the beast's neck and head.
  16. LEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOY..... JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEENKIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
  17. Roland glanced back at Nash, taking the warrior's words to heart. He wore a determined expression as he prepared for his assault on the beast. I hope this works, he thought to himself. Just as he reached the beast, he veered slightly to the left and drew his two long knives. He leapt from the pillar, holding his weapons high above his head as he sailed through the air toward the massive creature. He drove his knives forward as he neared his targeted landing area, plunging them into the back of the beast's neck and beginning to repeatedly stab at it.
  18. Reporting a very close 2-0 win over Cowtao. Logs below.
  19. Flux, not to criticize, but I feel like I'm waiting on you 90% of the time in this. Then again, you and I make up 40% or more of the posts
  20. For my own benefit and Kenny's, I put a simplified sequence of events at the bottom of the post. That should make it easier to respond.
  21. The cadets' GAOs met the guard bees in a frenzy of claws, stingers, lances, and teeth while the trainers and the queen bee stayed slightly farther away. Oliver leapt up and somersaulted through the air, extending his leg in a kick before landing hard on a guard bee. The insectoid GAO went down quickly, its carapace snapped nearly in half by the force of the unladen lizard's acrobatic assault. Ryu's fast assault on the guard bee was mostly successful. It attempted to fight back, but Ryu struck it a hard blow to the head, leaving his foe twitching on the ground. However, as Emma flew in for her assault, the queen moved for the first time. She buzzed loudly, and seemingly out of nowhere a series of glowing crystals appeared in the air. The circled the queen briefly before zipping toward the flying squirrel directly along her attack course. Eve and Nefertiti charged together, throwing their combined body weight against a guard and bringing it crashing to the ground in a mess of snapped limbs and shredded wings. Neffi seemed to have hurt herself in the course of the attack and was limping slightly as she moved away from the corpse, while Eve seemed completely fine. Then, the queen bee began to buzz loudly once more. The honeybees around her began to charge toward the two landlocked GAOs, their small, sharp mandibles glowing white as they flew in for a divebomb attack. Oliver's eye gleamed as he prepared for the assault, taking a ready stance. ----------------------------------------------- MOVES USED: Ryu: Bullet Punch (Successful) Oliver: Acrobatics (Successful) Emma: Acrobatics (Interrupted) Neffi: Take Down (Successful) Eve: Tackle (Successful) Queen Bee: Power Gem (In progress) Queen Bee: Attack Order (In progress) Combee Swarm: Bug Bite (In progress) Oliver: Detect (In progress)
  22. The group of bees held their position roughly thirty feet from the cadets and their GAOs. It appeared that with their leader around, they were much more capable in a fight. Jory looked to Kenny and nodded. "Alright. Let's do this." By the time he turned, the bees were already flying at full speed toward the trainers. Jory quickly began giving orders to his GAOs, expecting that afterward Kenny would have his GAOs help out. The leader is the strongest by far. The other bees can't be at more than Growth 17, he thought to himself, analyzing his enemies. "Kenny, we need to focus our fire on the guards first. That way we can face the queen alone." The cadet turned to his GAOs. "Neffi, Oliver, I need you to close in and take out the guard bees quickly! Oliver, use your acrobatic maneuvers to take them down! Neffi, I don't care what it takes. I want you to get your body in there and take them down!" With those orders, Jory's GAOs began charging toward the oncoming swarm. ----------------------------------- Orders Given: Neffi- Take Down Oliver- Acrobatics
