  1. Chapter V: The Majestic Parfum Palace, And The Battle Chateau! I head to Route 6, or Palais Lane, where I find a LOT of trees and grass. I can see Parfum Palace from here, and I see a few tourists ready to battle. I beat them, and head to the palace. I find the golden palace, and it's blocked by a gate. I walk up to the gate, and Shauna shows up. The man guarding the gate tells us that we have to pay $1,000 to get in. Shauna bursts in an outrage. Apparently, the owner of the palace follows the school of thought that you can never have too much money, which is hypocritical because this is how the rich get richer. She gives him the entrance fee: $1,000. The reason why there's the entrance fee is to help pay for repairing and restoring the palace... Probably... He opens the gate, and Shauna just runs in there. I run to the giant doors, and they open. I head inside, and find Shauna and a man with a golden Milotic statue and small gold Bisharp statues. It seems that the man is looking for something important. He then confirms that he's looking for his Furfrou, his dog Pokemon, who has disappeared. Shauna tells me that we should help him look for his Pokemon, cause if our Pokemon were missing, we'd be sick with worry. Time to look for Furfrou! I head through the doors, and explore the palace. I find a wandering minstrel, who sings a little tune. I learn a little bit of history of Parfum Palace, too. Apparently, it was built after Kalos won a war with neighboring regions. Long ago, there was a king whose garden was his pride and joy. He'd gather the castle folk and hold garden parties! There's a guy who tells me not to sleep in the king's bed, but too bad, I do it anyways, cause I AM a king! I head to the second floor, and head into the rooms too. In one room, I find a picture of the king of Kalos. I look outside the balcony, and it is STUNNING. It has Dratini tatues, and I can see a Reshiram Statue, and a Zekrom statue. I head to the left wing, and find a book where it talks about something that occurred in Shalour City... Could this have to do with Mega Evolution? I head back downstairs, and head out to the courtyard, where I find a statue that has Golurk, Palpitoad, Eevee, and a knight. When I get to the courtyard, Shauna shows up, and says that she'll look in the back. I find a few people, and talk to them. Apparently, the king who built this place ruled the entire Kalos region all on his own, just like an ancient king from 3,000 years ago. I look around in the hedges for Furfrou, and I find HM01 Cut. Just north of the HM, I find Furfrou, who runs off when I try to grab it. Shauna's been trying hard to grab it, and asks me for a hand. She tells me to find her a spot to hide in so that we can corner it in a dead end. Eventually, we corner Furfrou, and Shauna is happy. She says that we caught it because of me. How sweet... Furfrou's owner shows up, and is happy we reunited him with his Furfrou. He gets overjoyed, and says that he shall put on a tremendous fireworks display... All because we saved his dog. He tells us to rendezvous at the balcony. He then pronounces it like we're idiots or something. I've been to the balcony before, it's from the hall with mirrors on the second floor. He and his Furfrou leave, and Shauna's surprised, saying that maybe we shouldn't have found Furfrou. It was probably better off if we hadn't found it. Stupid rich people... If we were Pokemon, we would hate to have a trainer like that. But... since there's fireworks, we should make the best of it. I do enjoy Shauna's positive attitude. Eventually, I make it to the balcony, and I already find Shauna there! Are there two Shaunas? Oh well. It seems that me and Shauna have a little moment, because she says that she's never watched fireworks alone with a boy before. She says that even though we haven't even seen them yet, she'll never forget these fireworks... because she watched them with me... The fireworks start, and it's magical. Shauna's silent at first, but she says that fireworks show was AMAZING. She says that she never ever want to forget this, so she'll keep this memory in an album in her heart. The greedy palace owner and his butler show up, and the greedy man says that the fireworks show was for HIS DOG. This is when Shauna SNAPS. Wait... She almost forgot about the Poke Flute. The greedy man tells his butler to go get it, even though he didn't want to part with the flute. He says it was Shabboneau Castle's treasure, but he took it as payment for a loan. He says that a rich guy like him and a common person like that just didn't go together. The butler comes back, and the greedy man tells him to give it to us. He gives it to us, and then the greedy man tells us to always return what we borrow. When he's gone Shauna says that she wants to make lots of memories on her journey... but she says she'll try hard and forget about him... The servant says that to the greedy man, it's stressful running the place. Shauna asks the butler if he knows anything about Mega Evolution, and he says that there's a book about it in the palace library. He says that it had something to do with a Trainer holding a mysterious stone high and making Pokemon evolve even further. He also gives me TM17 Protect, which will be quite useful for Combusken when he evolves. He explains what Protect does, and then he takes his leave. Shauna says that the owner of Shabboneau Castle used to be friends with the butler. The butler is much nicer than the greedy man who abuses his dog. Shauna says that we have to be sure to give the Poke Flute back after we wake up Snorlax... Time to wake up Snorlax! I head to Route 6, and take the long way out this time. I find some items, and beat some trainers. Eventually, I find TM09 Venoshock, and I eventually make it back to Route 7. I give the Poke Flute, and get ready to battle the lazy Snorlax. Eventually, I catch the defensive bear, and then Furfrou and its greedy owner show up. He says that the only thing he can do with the Poke Flute is put it on display. However, the karate guy has been playing since he was little, and the tone is lovely Even his Furfrou enjoyed the sound of the flute. However, the fireworks were better. So, the greed rich man will let the karate guy keep his Poke Flute. Shauna knew exactly what I was thinking. That guy fails at patching things up. Oh well, all's well that ends well. I head over the bridge, and find what I think is the day care center. Before I can go any further, Tierno and Trevor show up. Tierno confirms that it's the day care center, because Trevor wanted to check it out. I follow the two pals, and Trevor explains what the Pokemon Day care Center is about. Both of them are amazed at the fact of hatching eggs. Tierno leaves, and Trevor follows him out. I head onward, and then talk to Tierno. He asks if I've caught a Dunsparce yet. I talk to Trevor, who asks me for a Pokemon Battle. By that, he means comparing Pokedexes. Well, I've seen 58 Pokemon, so he lost. I battle the trainers here, and Trevor runs to this huge building. I head over to him, and ask him what the building is. He says that it's called the Battle Chateau, and it's famous for being a place where Trainers gather to improve their skills. He says that if he learns even more about Pokemon, he's sure he'll be able to defeat Kalos's eight Gym Leaders. Time to enter the Battle Chateau! I enter the huge mansion, and find Viola there talking to a fellow gentleman. She notices me, and asks me what my title of nobility is. Too bad for me, I don't have one yet. She explains that my title at the Battle Chateau shows everyone just how strong I am. She also says that only a handful of Trainers can join the ranks of nobility and earn these titles. The gentleman notices me, and asks Viola if she is acquainted with me. He notices that I have the Bug Badge, and says that Lady Viola has recognized my ability as a Trainer. He says that it's a pleasure to meet me, and says that his name is Hennessy. I tell him my name, and he calls me Sir Trevo. Viola recommends me to have a title, and says that I have the makings of a very strong Trainer, so she's sure I'll contribute to the Battle Chateau. Hennessy is fine with that. Besides... HE also senses extraordinary potential emanating from me. He grants me the title of Baron, and says that Trainers with noble titles can do battle against other Trainers with titles in the nobility here at the Battle Chateau. He explains that the title of Baron or Baroness places me at the lowest rank of nobility. He tells me that if I continue to battle here, my victories will increase my rank and my title. He says that it's likely that higher-ranking members of the nobility will appear in hope of fighting me. He tells me that if I ever have any questions, then I shall direct my inquiries to the two clerks at the door. He then takes his leave. Viola says that she is also a member of the nobility, so we should battle again if we get the chance. She also leaves, and so I guess it's time for me to leave too. I battle the last trainer I see, and then I find Serena. She says that she would like to have a Pokemon battle with everyone. However, it seems that we're all doing a tag battle. She says that the battle will be Tierno and Trevor against me and her. Since me and her are neighbors, we might as well team up. Let's do this! Tierno sends out Corphish and Trevor sends out Pikachu, while Serena sends out Fletchling and I send out Grimsley. I switch out Grimsley for Mr. Muffintops, while Fletchling attacks Pikachu with Quick Attack. However, Corphish and Pikachu decide to gang up on Mr. Muffintops! Mr. Muffintops knocks out Corphish with Electro Ball, and we both then gang up on Pikachu. Trevor sends out Flabebe, and Mr. Muffintops knocks out Flabebe with an Electro Ball and a Quick Attack. In the end, me and Serena win, and Tierno and Trevor lose. Serena says that it's always interesting to see how different each Trainer's style is. She says that we should all head off to Ambrette Town, so we might as well do that. I climb the steps, and find a cave called Connecting Cave. However, this part of the cave leads to Cyllage City. I have to find the one leading to Ambrette Town. Eventually, I find the part of Connecting Cave that leads to Ambrette Town. It's a creepy cave called Zubat Roost. Oh gosh... Not Zubats again! I get myself into a few horde battles, and guess what? Annoying Zubats! I find a kind scientist, who heals my Pokemon for me! I find the exit, and leave. I find myself on Route 8, or Muraille Coast, and I get stopped by Sina and Dexio. They ask how my journey is going, and ask if I wondered how a single Pokedex could cover a big region like Kalos. Well, it apparently can't (even though the Unova Pokedex got at least 300 Pokemon!), and they upgrade my Pokedex by giving me the Coastal Kalos Pokedex. They give friendly advice, and leave. I get a good view of a small town, and make my journey across the mountain. I find a few trainers, and all of a sudden, it starts raining. I battle a few more trainers, and find some items. I even find a Sky Trainer, but I can't battle him yet. I hop on some stones, and finally make my way to Ambrette Town. As soon as I try to take the first step down, Serena shows up. She says that to get to Cyllage City, we have to go through the aquarium, but first we should go to the Fossil Lab and have them tell us about Fossils. She says that we might even learn something about Mega Evolution. I can't wait! Fossils, here we come! Current Pokemon Stats: Well, it seems that everybody leveled up and learned some moves! I even caught a fat Snorlax on a bridge! I had it named Sleepy, but I decided to head all the way back and name it Fatty Boy. Frogadier Name: Grimsley Level: 24 Moves: Round, Lick, Water Pulse, Quick Attack Charmeleon Name: Charles Level: 22 Moves: Scratch, Dragon Rage, Ember, Smokescreen Pikachu Name: Mr. Muffintops Level: 20 Moves: Thunder Wave, Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Electro Ball Combusken Name: Combusken Level: 23 Moves: Scratch, Peck, Double Kick, Ember Snorlax Name: Fatty Boy Level: 16 Moves: Tackle, Defense Curl, Amnesia, Lick
  2. Chapter IV: The Historic Camphrier Town, And The Ancient Shabboneau Castle! I head to Route 5, or Versant Road, and I see a Lucario run up to me, and run around me. I hear someone calling it, and a girl with another Lucario shows up. Apparently these Lucarios are hers. She apologizes and asks if I'm okay. She was just doing some special training with her Lucario when all of a sudden it dashed off... Apparently, Lucario seems to like me. She tells me that Lucario reads people's auras, and it seems something in my aura has made Lucario take a liking to me. She says that Lucario is always getting worked up in battle with her other one. Maybe... it's just been waiting for a Trainer to appear who's strong enough to challenge it... She then realizes that she forgot to introduce herself, and says that her name's Korrina, and she's the Shalour City Gym Leader. She says that if I'm collecting Gym Badges, we'll be battling sooner or later. She says that she'll be looking forward to it, and hopes that I can put up a good fight. Korrina and her Lucario leave, while the Lucario that confronted me follows them. Korrina... What an interesting name... After that little run-in, I feel that it's time to start Super Training my Pokemon. I go to the Super Training app on the PSS, and it explains what Super Training (S.T.) is. Basically, it's a virtual sports game where Pokemon face off against Balloon Bots. In the Core Training, Pokemon hit training bags to get stronger. Time to leave Charmander out in the rain! Nah, I'm kidding. I'm not like Ash Ketchum or anything. I go through the tutorials, and start training my Pokemon viciously. After I Super Train my Pokemon a little bit, I start to use Pokemon Amie, and play games with my wonderful Pokemon. After I train and play with my Pokemon for a little bit, I level up Charmander and Pikachu to level 15. However, in the process, I stumble into a few battles where I find five Pokemon ganging up on me! I beat up these Pokemon, and then beat a few trainer's Pokemon, and head onward. I find Trevor and Tierno at the stairs, and hear them talking about Pokemon hordes. Tierno thinks of them as dancing Pokemon, but Trevor chastises him, and says that it's not dancing. Tierno does his funny little dance, and says that he's always checking out their moves. However, he never wins because he always tries finding dance moves, such as Swords Dance. Tierno and Trevor notice me, and Tierno asks if my Pokemon know any sweet moves. He then asks me to show him in a battle! You want a battle, Tierno? Let's Dance. Tierno sends out Corphish, while I send out Grimsley. I have Grimsley Lick Corphish, but Corphish uses Vice Grip. Lucky for me, it paralyzes Corphish. Grimsley then uses Water Pulse, which knocks Corphish's health by half. Grimsley then finishes off Corphish, and gets some Exp. However, before the battle, I turned on EXP Share, so everyone gets Exp, AND level up to level 16! HOWEVER, there are some evolutions too! Grimsley evolves into... Frogadier! Charles evolves into... Charmeleon! Torchic evolves into... Combusken! Trevor says that it's good to see me, and confirms that Tierno ONLY thinks about dancing and moves. When a horde of Pokemon popped out, he just stood there watching them... Tierno says that dancing is his dream, and he was born to dance. Trevor says that he should show just as much dedication of completing the Pokedex. He then walks up to me and gives me some Honey. He tells me that Honey encourages Pokemon Hordes to appear. He says that if I want to challenge a whole horde, I may want to use moves that can hit multiple targets. After that, I head onward. I roll over the hills, and battle my way through trainers, and find a field of pretty purple flowers. I grind over the flowers, and grind myself to a ledge where I find a yellow Pokeball. I pick it up, and it's TM01 Hone Claws. I battle a few more trainers, and find a kid who talks about shorts. Seems that Youngster Joey has returned... Nope, false alarm. It's a different kid. I beat him, then roll my way toward Camphrier Town. As soon as I cross the gate to Camphrier Town, I get a Holo Clip from an employee from Lysandre Labs. Lysandre Labs explains that they developed the Holo Caster to make the lives of Pokemon Trainers richer, fuller, and more convenient. They hope I'll continue to enjoy the fine services that the device provides, and the clip ends. I head into the house next to the gate, and find a punk kid named Cassius. He says that he's the guy who runs the PC, no joke. He tells me that Bill over in Kanto asked him to come here and run things. He tells me in brief words to get out there, catch some Pokemon, and put them in the PC. He explains everything about the PC, and I then go. I talk to the ladies there, and one of them gives me TM46 Thief. I leave, then head to other buildings, and get some items. There's even somebody who never 'drop the balls.' In the hotel, I find Mr. Bonding again. He gives me an O-Power, and leaves. I try to leave, but I get stopped by someone. He tells me to go to the Shabboneau Castle and explore it. So, I will go do that. When I enter the castle, I find Shauna, and a karate guy. He explains that Shabboneau Castle, or Chateau, was once a manor house of a noble family. It may be run down, but that's because there's history to the place. During that history, the owners of the castle gave away a lot of their stuff to everyone, so that's why it feels so empty. Shauna is surprised, because she wanted to know if there's anything related to Mega Evolution. The guy is confused, and doesn't even KNOW what Mega Evolution is. Another guy comes in, and says that something has returned. They go to Route 7, but they tell us to take our time and have a look around. She then says that we should go to Route 7. I'm going to take my time and look around. I head to the second floor, and find some furniture. I find an Escape Rope, and then I head to the other room, which is a great big room. Sadly, there is nothing else, so I leave with Shauna and head to Route 7. I head to Route 7, or Riviere Walk, and I find the two men being blocked off by a large Snorlax. Shauna shows up, and asks what's going on. Seems that Snorlax is asleep... again... Seems that Snorlax has been here before. The karate guy says that he handed the Poke Flute to some other people, so it seems we're going to have to find them to get it. Shauna asks what a Poke Flute is, and he basically explains that the Poke Flute is what we need to wake up Snorlax. However, the Poke Flute is at Parfum Palace. Time to head to Route 6! Shauna says that we might be able to learn something about Mega Evolution from Parfum Palace! Before I head to Route 6, I head down to a Berry Field, where I find a man and a little girl. The man asks me if I can take care of his Berry Field, and he's basically giving it to me. First, a shopping mall, and now this? Awesome! I say yes, and he teaches me how to take care of the field. We walk to some soil, and he gives me some Oran Berries, and some Pecha Berries. The man also gives me a watering can called the Sprinklotoad, and wishes me luck on taking care of the field. He leaves to go rest, and the girl tells me that we live in the house at the corner of the field. She then leaves too. I grow the berries, then leave to Route 6. Parfum Palace, here we come! Current Pokemon Stats: I'm surprised, because Grimsley, Charles, AND Torchic all evolved AT THE SAME TIME. Now, they're all kicking butt. Some of them even learned new moves, too! Frogadier Name: Grimsley Level: 19 Moves: Pound, Lick, Water Pulse, Quick Attack Charmeleon Name: Charles Level: 18 Moves: Scratch, Dragon Rage, Ember, Smokescreen Pikachu Name: Mr. Muffintops Level: 17 Moves: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Play Nice Combusken Name: Combusken Level: 18 Moves: Scratch, Peck, Double Kick, Ember
  3. Chapter III: Professor Sycamore, The Mysterious Lysandre, Serena, And The Beautiful Lumoise City! I head to Route 4, or Parterre Way, and find a few hedge mazes with items in them. I battle a few trainers, and find a HUGE fountain. I even found battled some little kids who thought that a Magikarp was cool. I mean, WOW. Anyways, I train Grimsley and Mr. Muffintops, because Torchic is too powerful enough. After I beat all of the trainers, I head to the gate into Lumoise City, but these two rich kids block my way and ask me about a Pokemon called Flabebe. They then bore me with information about Flabebe being a Fairy-type Pokemon, which was classified recently. The girl introduces herself as Sina, and the boy introduces himself as Dexio. The two rich kids were sent by Professor Sycamore to discover new information about Fairy types. Two years ago, they were entrusted with Pokedexes. Sina says that they can show me the way to the lab if I'd like. When I get in the gate, Dexio gives me TM27 Return. And then, I cross the gate... and enter Lumoise City! When I get to Lumoise City, Sina wanders off to the lab. I catch up to Sina, and we both go into Professor Sycamore's Lab. She tells me that Professor Sycamore is on the third floor, so I go in the elevator and head up to the third floor, where I find Monsieur Sycamore himself. He is pleased that I am here, and invites me into his office. One of his assistants gives me TM54 False Swipe for seeing 28 Pokemon. I head into the professor's office, and he thanks me for coming. He introduces himself, and says that it's a pleasure to finally meet me. He asks how my journey is so far, and so far, it is GREAT. He looks at how many Pokemon I've seen so far, and is impressed. He then starts speaking in French again. He then says that at first, he was thinking of choosing only one child from a town when he was deciding who to give a Pokemon to. In Vaniville Town, it was going to be the child of a Veteran Trainer he knows, but then he learned that the Rhyhorn racer Grace and her son (Me) were moving here. He then tells me that in the Kalos region, I'm far away from everything I used to know, and that really hit him. He then had the idea to give me a Pokemon and have me travel around Kalos. Then, Shauna and Serena show up, and Professor Sycamore is pleased. He says that we should all have a Pokemon Battle! HE tells me that my opponent is going to be HIM. Battling a Pokemon Professor... That's a first. Professor Sycamore sends out Bulbasaur while I send out Grimsley. I then send out Torchic, and burn Bulbasaur down to the ground. Professor Sycamore then sends out Squirtle, while I send out Mr. Muffintops. I have Mr. Muffintops use Thunder Shock a few times, and that knocks him out. Professor Sycamore then sends out Charmander as his last, while I switch out for Grimsley. I have Grimsley use Water Pulse, which knocks out Charmander in one hit, allowing me to win the battle. Professor Sycamore then says that he figured something out. He remarks that I am an interesting Pokemon Trainer, and requests that I take ANOTHER Pokemon with me! He gives me three Pokemon to choose from. However, these are the KANTO Starters: Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Like Froakie, I've planned who my Kanto Starter is going to be. I'm going to choose... Charmander! He asks if I want to give Charmander a nickname, so I name him Charles. After I name Charles, Professor Sycamore gives me the Charizardite Y, a Mega Stone. He even asks Shauna and Serena if THEY would like a Kanto Starter. Shauna and Serena take their time to think, while Tierno and Trevor show up. Professor Sycamore welcomes everyone, and says a few words: "Be the best Trainer you can be!" He even does a little pose. He tells us to remember to have fun traveling with our Pokemon, and he wants to ask for our help in solving the Kalos region's biggest Pokemon mystery: the secret and potential of Mega Evolution, a new kind of Evolution that occurs in battle! THAT is why he gave me a Mega Stone just now. It's an important clue! Does that mean the item Torchic is holding is another clue? Trevor asks the professor about the Pokedex, and Professor Sycamore tells him that if that's what "best Trainer" means to him, then he should go out there and complete that Pokedex! Shauna gets hyped up about Mega Evolution, and Professor Sycamore tells us to check out Camphrier Town to investigate Mega Evolution. Camphrier Town has a lot of history, and we might even find a hint there! He also tells us that if we visit many different places to complete the Pokedex, we will probably see Pokemon with many ways of living and meet people with many ways of thinking. First, we should accept the ways of living and thinking that sometimes conflict with our own. We must think about what's REALLY important--this will truly broaden our horizons. Serena says that being different from others makes us special, and that mastering Mega Evolution will definitely set her apart from other Trainers. After that, I talk to everybody individually, and then head downstairs to the second floor. I talk to the scientists, and learn some interesting things. Apparently, Professor Sycamore knew Professor Rowan when he was younger, and Professor Rowan was his teacher! After learning a few things, I head back to the first floor, where I find this red-haired man in a black suit talking to Sina. They are talking about the five of us that were chosen by Professor Sycamore! Sina notices me, and calls me over to them. He says that I am one of the "chosen ones". He introduces himself as Lysandre, and he says that he's tried to learn as much about Pokemon as he can to help build a brighter future. He says that Professor Sycamore has taught him so much. He notices my Holo Caster, and he tells me that knowledge is power, and tells me to put it to good use. He tells me that it is vital that this world become a better place, and the people and Pokemon chosen to make the world better must work tirelessly to achieve this goal. He then says that he has to go, and tells us to give Professor Sycamore his best. He then says his desire... is for a more beautiful world! He then leaves. Sina wonders what kind of beautiful world Lysandre desires, and tells me that there are many different Pokemon in the Kalos region. She hopes that getting a Pokedex will help me learn more about Pokemon. As soon as I start to leave, Serena, Shauna, Tierno and Trevor show up. Shauna tells me that there's a place that she wants to go check out, and she leaves. Serena says that she has something she wants to talk to me about, and tells me that she'll be waiting for me in Cafe Soleil. Then she leaves, while Trevor wonders what she wants to talk to me about. Tierno says that it seems hush-hush. Even though they're curious, they'll stay out of it. Tierno gives me the directions to go to Camphrier Town, and says that Cafe Soleil is over that direction too. When I leave, Tierno and Trevor come out too. Trevor says that Lumoise City may be large, but if I stay on the main streets, I shouldn't get lost. Tierno leaves to go on a little walk, and Trevor shows me the way to Camphrier Town and Cafe Soleil. He then leaves, and I find Shauna standing in front of a building where you can make 10 second videos and show them to the world. I find the Pokemon Center, and heal my Pokemon, but I also find a guy who talks about Poke Milege, where I trade Poke Miles for prizes. I then leave. I head back outside, and head to where Trevor said. I find Serena, and talk to her. I follow her into Cafe Soleil, and find Lysandre with a girl called Diantha. Serena tells me that Lysandre is the head of Lysandre Labs, which created the Holo Caster, a video-messaging device. She also says that Diantha is one of the most famous movie stars in the world! Let's go see what they're talking about... Lysandre compliments Diantha on her debut on the silver screen as a young girl, and asks her if she would rather remain young and beautiful forever and always play such roles. Strange question... She asks him why would she want to play the same roles forever, and says that youth may be beautiful, but it's not all there is to life. She tells him that everything changes, and she wants to live and change like that too. So she looks forward to playing different roles as she gets older. Lysandre tells her that she was chosen to be a movie star, and asks her that isn't it her duty to be beautiful forever? He says that everything beautiful should stay that way forever, and says that he would end the world in an instant so that beauty never fades. He can't stand at the thought of the world becoming uglier. He then notices me, and introduces me to Diantha, and says that she moves the multitudes with her excellent acting, and says that she dedicates her life to making other people happy. He says that if everyone was like her, the world would be even more beautiful! He then leaves. Diantha comes closer, and asks who we are. Serena introduces herself, but Diantha guesses my name right on the spot. I guess it was because Lysandre said my name earlier. She is amazed that we're both Trainers, and says that she's a Trainer herself, in her off time. She looks forward to us battling one day, and leaves. Serena remembers what she wanted to say, and she asks me if I would be willing to battle her to see which one of us will become stronger. She knows I just moved in, but we're neighbors, and she thinks it will be fun to battle me. She tells me that she won't lose. We'll see about that... I leave, then get a Holo clip from Tierno. He tells me that he's on Route 5 right now, and it's FILLED with Pokemon! He tells me to hurry and check it out. I explore Lumoise City some more, and find some good items. After that, I head to the gate Trevor was blocking, and I find a guy in a pink suit. He introduces himself as Mr. Bonding, and asks me if I've ever heard of O-Powers. He explains that they're mysterious forces that have many useful effects. They can help my Pokemon get stronger, or they can help me get more money. Any friends I have nearby will also benefit from them. He gives me an O-Power, and He explains some more, then leaves. I then go to Route 5 too. Lysandre... What kind of world does he hope to create? Current Pokemon Stats: Welcome to the team, Charles! The other three Pokemon leveled up pretty good, and Mr. Muffintops even learned some new moves! Froakie Name: Grimsley Level: 15 Moves: Pound, Lick, Bubble, Quick Attack Charmander Name: Charles Level: 10 Moves: Scratch, Growl, Ember, Smokescreen Pikachu Name: Mr. Muffintops Level: 11 Moves: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Quick Attack, Play Nice Torchic Name: Torchic Level: 15 Moves: Scratch, Growl, Focus Energy, Ember
  4. Chapter II: Photographer Viola, And The Country-Loving Santalune City! When I first walk into Santalune City, I hear country music. It even gets worse when I get into the Pokemon Center, where the Pokemon Center music's changed to country music. Though... it IS a bit catchy... Anyways, Tierno goes into the Pokemon Center too, and explains what Pokemon Centers are about. He even does a little dance. Like Generation V, there ARE Pokemarts. I heal Grimsley, and leave. I head into the Boutique shop next to the Pokemon Center. I find a cool hat, but it costs too much, so I leave. I go into people's houses, and get some cool stuff. I try to head out to Route 4, but the woman next to the exit stops me. She tells me to head over to the Santalune Gym, and says that her sister will be glad to meet me. The Gym Leader is her sister?! Since the Gym Leader uses Bug-Types, I guess it's time to say hello to a little friend... Torchic! I go to Mystery Gift, and download Torchic. When I load my game, I see a girl in a short outfit, and she gives me the Torchic. I even head to the Trainer's School, where the teacher gives me all these X-Attacks and X-Defends. I explore the school for a bit, then leave. After I go to the Trainer School, I head back to Route 3 to find a Pikachu... which I find a good one when a long time has passed... I catch it anyways, and decide to name it Mr. Muffintops, like how it was named back in Pokemon Yellow, though THAT story will be told another time! After getting Pikachu, I head to the Santalune Gym, and find the roller-skating kid who passed me. She blocks the door, and says that if I beat her i a Pokemon battle, she'll give me a pair of roller skates. She sends out a Zigzagoon, but Grimsley beats it down with Bubble. After I beat her, she gives me the roller skates, and I head inside the Santalune Gym. When I head inside the Gym, I see pictures everywhere, and a guy and a pole in front of me. I wonder what that long, thin pole is for... ANYWAYS, I talk to the Gym guy, and he tells me to jump on the pole. I wonder what SERENA did on the pole... ANYWAYS, Before I go down, he tells me that everyone here uses Bug-types. THIS is why I got Torchic. PLUS, It was an event Pokemon. I climb down the pole, and slam into a giant web. I find a lot of dew, which I'm supposed to knock down. I battle the few trainers, and I burn their Pokemon with Torchic. I knock down all the dew drops, and beat all the trainers. Now, it's just the Gym Leader left! I talk to Viola, who goes on about things that seem inspiring. She then proceeds to just go to the battle, with no introduction. If that's the way you want it, bring it on! Viola sends out Surskit while I send out Grimsley. I have Grimsley Lick Surskit, which paralyzes Surskit. Then, Grimsley keeps using Quick Attack and Pound, which does the trick. I send out Mr. Muffintops, who uses Thunder Shock against Surskit. Fortunately, Surskit keeps getting paralyzed. However, Viola gives Surskit a Potion, but I still have Mr. Muffintops spam Thunder Shock anyways. Eventually, Surskit gets knocked out, and Viola sends out Vivillon, while I send out Torchic. Vivillon keeps using Infestation, while Torchic boosts up from Speed Boost, and keeps burning Vivillon with Ember. Vivillon eventually goes down, and I win the battle, with a pretty good amount of money too. After the battle, she is greatly impressed, and gives me the badge. *Trevo got the Bug Badge!* With the Bug Badge, Pokemon up to level 30 will obey me at my every command. She even gives me TM83 Infestation because I had a great battle with a great "photog" like her. She says that I can use TMs over and over again! She tells me that there's a stairway behind her tent, and that leads back to the entrance. I get out through a picture, and I try to leave. However, the Gym guy stops me, and says that I should take Grimsley to Lumoise City to show Professor Sycamore Grimsley. I leave the Gym, and go to Route 4, but I'm stopped by the same person again. She introduces herself as Alexa, and says that Viola is her younger sister. She says that she is a journalist, and gives me the Exp. Share in celebration of getting my first badge. She explains the new Exp. Share function, and says that she works at the big publishing house up in Lumoise City. She invites me there, and then leaves. Well, I guess it's time to head to Lumoise City! Current Pokemon Stats: I have two new Pokemon, Torchic and Mr, Muffintops! Torchic is kicking some major bug rear. Froakie Name: Grimsley Level: 13 Moves: Pound, Lick, Bubble, Quick Attack Pikachu Name: Mr. Muffintops Level: 6 Moves: Tail Whip, Thunder Shock, Growl Torchic Name: Torchic Level: 14 Moves: Scratch, Growl, Focus Energy, Ember
  5. Well, It's been out for a few days in America, and after waiting for 10 months for the game, I finally got it. Some say they're good, some say they're bad. It's up to one hero to explore this new land, and that hero... is me. Chapter I: Prologue It all started when Professor Augustine Sycamore introduced me to the wonderful region of Kalos. He sends out a Skiddo, and says that this world is widely inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon. He then shows me a majestic painting of all kinds of Pokémon. He then asks me if I'm a boy or a girl through two mirrors. I am obviously a guy, so I choose the one on the left. He then asks me what I look like. I choose the middle painting, because I'm me. He then asks me my name. I am a white man named Trevo. He says that I have a fantastic name, and also speaks a little French. He then shows me a huge white gate, and I stumble through it. I then see a scene of a Fletchling flying to my room, and then wakes me up! Stupid Fletchling! I wake up, and I see that I have a HUGE TV, and a black Wii U. It also seems that my dad gave me a laptop too. THANK YOU DAD! I head downstairs, and my mom notices me right away (As always). She notices that I look like I rolled out of bed, and tells me to change out of my pajamas. I WOULD have slept peacefully, but your dumb bird woke me up! I go back upstairs, and put on my clothes, and now look AMAZING. I head downstairs, and Mom tells me to say hello to the neighbors. I then notice the even bigger TV than the one in my room. How is my family so rich? I then proceed to yell at Fletchling before I walk outside, but Mom also tells me not to wake up the pet Rhyhorn. I walk outside, and then I see two tall girls in front of my door! Two Words: All right. The blond girl welcomes me to Vaniville Town, and introduces herself as Serena, who is apparently my next-door neighbor. The girl in pink introduces herself as Shauna, and tells me that they've come to get me! Serena tells me that Professor Sycamore lives here in the Kalos region, and she was told that he has a request for five kids, which includes the three of us. Heck, even I'M surprised that he knows me. I DID just move to Vaniville, after all. Shauna says that they'll wait for me in the next town over, and tells me that we're all going to get... a Pokémon! She tells me to hurry up, and they run off through a gate. At my left, I notice a Rhyhorn. Mom's apparently right about the pet Rhyhorn. I go next door, and find Serena's Mom, and like how my dilemma is, I do not see her Dad. I watch a little bit of TV, then leave. I talk with the rest of the people, then I head out to the next town. I go into Route One, or Vaniville Pathway, which actually leads to the next town, called Aquacorde town. As soon as I get there, Serena and Shauna call me over to their table. Apparently, they were talking about me. Serena says that their table is the meeting place, and introduces me to the gang. She introduces me to the gang, and then the big fat kid says that Shauna's description about me was spot on. Serena says that his name's Tierno, and he's a guy who has some SERIOUS dance moves. She tells me that the short ginger kid's name is Trevor. Trevor's a kid who never misses a single question on his tests, but he's a little shy... WAIT A MINUTE! He has the same name as ME!!! Tierno greets me, and says that maybe we should all have nicknames so it would feel like we're a closer crew. He asks me if he could call me T-Meister, but Shauna objects to this, and says that I'm a Lil' T, for sure. She asks Trevor what HE thinks my nickname for me, but he jumps. He tells her that she shouldn't put people on the spot, and says that maybe something low key like Big T will do. Serena tells me that I should decide what they should call me. All of those choices are fine, but I'd prefer to be called Trev. Shauna says that it's perfect for me, and says that we're going to be great friends, so she'll call me that too. She asks Tierno if we can see the new Pokemon, and he says that it was a cool feeling when he and Trevs met their Pokemon, and hopes that we all feel the same way that they did. He brings out a chest containing three Pokeballs. From left to right, there's Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. I've been planning this for ten months, and I already know what I'm going to choose. I'm going to choose... Froakie! I name the cute little frog Grimsley. You'll see why I named it Grimsley once it evolves. Shauna chooses Fennekin, while Serena chooses Chespin. She thanks her Chespin, and Trevor has something to say. He says that Professor Sycamore wanted us to have something. Trevor says that he has something that will help us understand Pokemon on a deeper level. He gives each of us a Pokedex, and explains what the Pokedexes do. The reason we each got Pokedexes is because the professor wants all of us to go on a journey with our Pokemon and complete the Pokedex (Like that will ever happen!). Tierno tells Trevor to lighten up, and he gives me a letter from the professor. He tells me that I should give it to my mom. Since they're done with they errands for the professor, he and Trevor run off to catch some Pokemon. Serena says that in Kalos, kids are chosen to carry a Pokedex and go on an adventure. However, I need to give the letter to my mom before I go. As I go back to Vaniville Town to talk to my mom, Shauna stops me. She says that I'm going to be her opponent in a Pokemon battle! Allright! Bring it on! Shauna sends out Fennekin (who is actually a female for once), while I send out Grimsley. I have Grimsley use Bubble, which cuts Fennekin's HP in half. Fennekin uses Ember, which doesn't even do much damage to Grimsley. I finish it off with another Bubble attack from Grimsley, and win the battle. However, just before I win, Grimsley levels up to level 6! Yay! Plus, I even receive 500 Pokemoney for winning. Shauna says that I'm amazing, and just heals Grimsley for me. Isn't that sweet? She tells me to say hi to my mom for her, and she leaves back over to the table. I head back to Vaniville Town, and go back to my house. As soon as I get back to the house, Mom starts questioning me like I did drugs or did anything bad, and heck no I did not. She then notices a Pokeball in my hand, and asks me if I have my own Pokemon, which I do. What's even more awesome is that I'm a Pokemon Trainer now, so I don't have to live here anymore! Wait... WHAT?! I just moved here! I give Mom the letter, and she's confused about it. She even assumes that it's a LOVE LETTER from PROFESSOR SYCAMORE!!! Though it would be cool if he was my dad... She even remarks at the lovely handwriting, and realizes that I'm about to go off on my journey. She runs upstairs, and gives me a change of clothes. She even goes on and on about a racer from a Rhyhorn race. Wait a minute... Was SHE in those races? Anyways, she also gives me the Town Map, so I don't get lost. She says that a journey with my Pokemon is a WONDERFUL experience. I say goodbye to Mom and Fletching, and leave. When I walk out the door, Rhyhorn wakes up, and walks right in front of me. He roars in my face, and Mom comes outside. Apparently, Rhyhorn wanted to see me go away on my journey too! WHY CAN'T YOU COME WITH ME, RHYHORN?! Apparently, I've known Rhyhorn since I was born. She wishes me good luck, and goes back inside. I head back to Aquacorde Town, and I do not see Serena and Shauna at the table. Though I CAN get a nice view of the town from a ledge. I find a Pokemart owner, and he gives me a Potion for free! On my left, I find a Pokemart that sells Pokeballs, and on my right, I find a library and a Pokemart that sells Potions. I buy a few Pokeballs, and head to Route 2, or Avance Trail. There, I find some tall grass. The first Pokemon I find... is a Pidgey. Despite me wanting to catch Pokemon, I knock it out anyways with Grimsley's Bubble attack. Ahead, I find Serena and Shauna. Shauna says that we should learn how to catch Pokemon from Serena, who's parents are both amazing trainers. Serena goes into a wild Pokemon battle, and battles a Bunnelby. She sends out Fletchling, weakens Bunnelby, and catches it. Shauna is impressed, and forgets that her Fennekin is inside her Pokeball. Serena shares some Pokeballs with me. WHY DID I WASTE MY MONEY?! Oh well, I only bought 5 anyways, no big deal. Serena wishes us both good luck, and leaves. I try to head into Santalune Forest, but I get stopped to a battle instead. The kid sends out a Zigzagoon, but it faints after 3 turns from Grimsley's Bubble. Grimsley levels up to level 7, and I get money. I head into Santalune forest after beating the kid up, and Shauna arrives too. She says that we should walk together. She says that she feels like something exciting will happen if she stays by me. Well, that's fine by me, I guess! I find a few items, and I even battle a Panpour, who actually gives Grimsley a level up to level 8 after beating it up! Not only that, but Grimsley learns Quick Attack! After beating up a few Pokemon, Grimsley levels up to level 9. Shauna even heals Grimsley for me! We run into Serena and Tierno, and they run off. I notice Trevor, but he doesn't do anything. We go up to Tierno, who gets himself into a battle. We pass him, and Shauna finds something in the grass. She gives me a Paralyze Heal, and we continue to look for Serena. I find a trainer who looks a little familiar, but does NOT HAVE RATTATA. I beat him anyways, and we continue our quest. Grimsley grows to level 10, and learns lick, replacing Growl. Tierno shows up, but stays in the tall grass. We catch up to Serena, and she just gives me a Pokeball. Me and Shauna proceed onward, and find a girl with a Pikachu that's level 5... THAT'S WHAT I'M TRYING TO LOOK FOR!!! Grimsley Licks Pikachu three times, and Pikachu gets knocked out. I find another girl who sends out two Pokemon. I beat them, and I find another Pokeball. BY THE WAY, Serena gave me 11 Pokeballs, and I bought 5, and I found one myself, so that makes it 17 Pokeballs. We find the exit, and Serena catches up. Seems that I have a lot of potential. Trevor and Tierno catch up too, and Trevor chastises Tierno for only thinking about how Pokemon move. Shauna catches up (even though she was following ME), and we all go to Santalune City. NOPE! Instead, we go to Route 3, Ouvert Way. Trevor goes off to look for more Pokemon to catch, and Tierno goes to find more Pokemon that move. Serena goes off to look for the Santalune City Gym Leader to battle, but before she goes, she gives us each a book called Adventure Rules, which is just a few tips that every trainer should know. She then leaves, while I go find a Pikachu. I battle a few trainers, and beat them badly. As soon as I pass the stairs, somebody in roller skates passes through, and I beat the rest of the trainers, while getting some items. Now, onward to Santalune City! Current Pokemon Stats: So far, I'm feeling awesome! Grimsley is my only Pokemon so far, but he's level 12, so it shouldn't be a problem. Froakie Name: Grimsley Level: 12 Moves: Pound, Lick, Bubble, Quick Attack
  6. Chapter XXVIII: Pyrous Mountain, And The Powerful Team Meteor Leader: Solaris! I head into Kiki's Room, and find Kiki, Victoria, and Cain waiting for me. Kiki says that they have already seen Team Meteor pass through, and they've begun climbing the mountain. Cain tells Kiki and Victoria that they're going to use a machine to make Camerupt react with the volcano, and erupt. Victoria says that everyone will be killed, but however, Kiki says that it's much more than that. The two places may be separated by the toxic lake, but if Apophyll is destroyed, Reborn City will be hurt as well. Kiki says that Apophyll and Reborn are two sides of the same coin, Reborn, outside the city, and within, is one whole. If one part is lost, the balance will be broken. The power will shift to their favor. We must stop Team Meteor, and time is short. If they've already begun, our only hope is that Cal can hold them off for long enough... We must hurry. However, Kiki's health is deteriorating gradually, and Victoria tells her to take it easy. Victoria tells me and Cain that she's going to stay with Kiki to make sure she's okay. She tells us to go stop Team Meteor. Cain replies, saying that she doesn't have to tell him twice, and starts singing. Cain then tells me that he's going to go ahead up the mountain, and leaves. I guess it's time for me to head up there too! I head up to the entrance of Pyrous Mountain, but a Meteor grunt is blocking the way, and he's not even going to battle Cain! All the grunt is doing is standing in the way. Cain tells his Nidoking to push the guy off the edge! Though he's okay, cause he lands on another edge. Cain enters the mountain, and I follow. When I get in the mountain, Victoria shows up. she tells me that Kiki told her to leave, because there was nothing she could do for her. She tells me to lead the way and I will do that. Lucky for me, Team Meteor cleared the way for me. Either that, or it stayed opened. However, I AM greeted with a few battles. Some of the grunts are even funny when they lose. I even run into a few Meteor Dames I remember. I beat them, and climb up to the summit. On our way up to the summit, Victoria and I see an Absol. Victoria wonders why an Absol is here, but wonders if something happened to Cal. As we get closer, she asks me what I thought of Cal. She then says that ever since he came to Apophyll, She thought he was really cool, helpful and eager. She then tells me that once this is over, she's going to tell him how she feels about him. Team Meteor... You will be stopped! We head to the summit, and find Cal, Cain, Taka, and Solaris himself. Victoria finds Cain defeated already, and Cal awkwardly trying to say something. She thanks Cain, and says we'll take it from here now. She then threatens Taka and Solaris and tells them not to lay a finger on Cal, or anyone in Apophyll. Solaris finds this amusing, and when I show up, he "writhes in fear at what us pups could possibly do." Cain tells me and Victoria that we don't have a lot of time, because as soon as the PULSE builds up enough energy through Camerupt, the whole place is gonna blow! Solaris tells us that we are not permitted to interfere, and tells Taka to deal with Victoria. Taka replies to his command, and calls him... FATHER?! TAKA IS SOLARIS' SON?!?! Seems that he IS Solaris' son, because he even confirms so! THAT explains why Taka doesn't care much about Team Meteor! Solaris tells Taka that he'll deal with me, and says that it won't take him more than a single Pokemon to delete us. The battle begins... Solaris... Let's finish this. Here and now. Team Meteor's Leader Solaris sends out Garchomp, while I send out Cottonee. Yes. COTTONEE. Though I have a plan... I tell Cottonee to use Leech Seed on Garchomp, which hits. Garchomp wipes out Cottonee from a Fire Fang attack, and I send out Hydra to lower Garchomp's attack power. I then send out a Pineco. A LEVEL 4 PINECO. However, before Cottonee fainted, he managed to land a Stun Spore thanks to Focus Band protecting him. I keep switching from Hydra to Pineco while Garchomp wastes away. Solaris decides to use one of his Full Restores, which heals Garchomp's paralysis. Garchomp tries to knock out Pineco, but fails to thanks to Sturdy. However, Pineco heals himself thanks to the Leech Seed from before! It turns into an endless pattern, and Garchomp is slowly wasting away. Eventually, Solaris gets annoyed by this, and tries to use another Full Restore when Garchomp has half of his health. Too bad THAT doesn't work, because Garchomp is STILL suffering from Leech Seed! Hydra nearly gets killed though, because Garchomp is still powerful even when his attack stat is lowered all the way. I keep having Hydra use Dragon Dance until he's fast and strong enough. When Hydra is about to faint, I have him use Ice Fang on Garchomp, which is surprisingly enough to knock him out. Solaris didn't even have to be mad about using the third Full Restore, because he's already mad he lost! Looks like I beat the big bad wolf! He gives me quite an amount of money, which is good. Solaris tells me that there's no point in continuing, even if I win. Cain gets mad, and Kiki sneaks up behind him. Solaris says that it is inconsequential. Kiki tells Cain to stand aside, and Victoria notices her. She tells her that she should be resting at the Academy because she's too weak. Kiki tells me to stand back, because she will take care of this. She sends out Medicham, while Solaris taunts that no matter how many of us there are, we all can't stop it. The PULSE will reach its full capacity any second now. Kiki is aware of this, and tells Medicham to destroy the infernal machine. However, Solaris tells CAL to stop her! Cal sends his Magmortar out, and Kiki tells Medicham to use Hi Jump Kick. Cal tells his Magmortar to catch Medicham, which it does. Victoria is surprised by this twisted act, and she asks him what he's doing. Cal apologizes to her, saying that he knows that this isn't what she thought of him. He admits that he has a habit of not really being what people want him to be. Victoria asks if he's betraying them, and Solaris tells Cal to dispose the Medicham. Magmortar disposes the Medicham for him by throwing Medicham into the volcano! Solaris tells his Garchomp (Who's strangely still alive), to use Dragon Rush. "All who oppose Team Meteor will be silenced. Execute!" Garchomp uses Dragon Rush... But on Kiki... Garchomp rushes up to Kiki, and slashes her to death... Just like what it showed on one of Shade's computers... Cal realizes what Solaris had done, and Victoria rushes to Kiki's side. Cal yells at Solaris, and tells him that was NOT part of the plan! Solaris tells him that she would have died in the flames regardless, and tells him that he has no reason to be upset. He tells Cal that he knew this would happen. Cal is ashamed of himself, and says that he's done. Solaris tells Cal that it seems that he's weak as his brother advised. Does this mean that Blake is part of Team Meteor? Cal realizes that Blake talked to Solaris, but before he gets mad, he realizes he's weak. He says that he's weak, and pathetic, and always has been. He says that Kiki helped him realize it, and she helped him accept it. "Strength isn't what's important. Maybe weakness is standing by, not doing anything to stop the things you hate from happening around you. And maybe I'll stop that right now." Cal gets over his disappointment, and tells Magmortar to destroy the PULSE with Blast Burn (Which shouldn't even be learned by Magmortars!). Magmortar destroys the PULSE, and Solaris is disappointed in Cal. He asks Cal if he thinks that such a reckless move redeems him. He then states that on the contrary, it condemns him. He tells Cal that Blake was right. In his eyes, Cal is insufferably useless. He states that Cal even killed his own teacher, and laughs. He tells Taka that the operation has been failed, and tells him to retreat, which Taka obeys, and they retreat. Solaris, you evil, sadistic jerk... When I find you again, I'll wipe out your whole team, not just Garchomp! Cal calls back his Magmortar, and apologizes to Victoria, saying that he never meant for this to happen. However, she snaps at Cal, asking what DID he mean to happen. She asks if he meant to destroy all of Apophyll, which he tries to redeem himself, but Victoria continues, asking him if he wanted HER dead too, which he tries to say that he didn't mean that, but she gets MAD. She walks up to him and asks him what was he thinking, and asks him if he was just lying to us the whole time, and asks if he ever even cared. Cal backs away, and tries to say that he's sorry, but she walks up to him, and cuts him off. She tells him not to talk to her, and tells him to go away. Cal backs away, and tries to apologize some more, and Victoria says that she doesn't even want to look at him right now... Cal shuts up, and walks away sad. Cain asks Victoria if she's okay, and she says that she's fine. However... Kiki... is dead. Cain says that Apophyll is safe, thanks to her, and Victoria agrees, saying that she died protecting the place she loved. Apophyll was Kiki's home. Everyone there was her family. She built Apophyll from the ground up... She gave her life to it. And her death... Victoria cries for Kiki's death, and says that she's so, so sorry. We all head back to Kiki's Room, and Victoria presents me with HM04 Strength, as owed to me by her former master. She also tells me that after having witnessed my struggle from my first steps, she would like nothing more than to offer me the Fury Badge, which I earned against Kiki before. However, she cannot. Because Kiki is... no longer a leader, that badge has been invalidated... THANKS FOR NOTHING, YOU SADISTIC, EVIL, JERK! Victoria says that she'll take care to contact Ame and make sure that the reserve Fighting Leader is notified. She also tells me and Cain that she will also be remaining here at the Academy henceforth. Apophyll Academy needs a leader, and Kiki chose her to take her place when she is gone. Victoria apologizes to us both, because it looks like we won't be able to travel together anymore. She tells us both to beat the Reborn League for her, which is what I will do. Cain jokes around, saying that usually when he's asked to beat something, it's a little more intimate, but he says that he'll beat the Reborn League for her. Victoria asks if she even wants to know, but Cain's just lightening up the mood. He tells her that there are a few things that come first, like saving the kids. Cain remembers that I still have to beat Aya. He tells me that he's going to go down to the Byxbysion Gate to open it for me. He tells me that the gate is in the South Obsidia Ward. He then leaves, I will beat the Reborn League too... For you, Victoria... But I won't just beat the Reborn League... I will WIN the Reborn League! Current Pokemon Stats Nothing much has changed. I just used a few tricks up my sleeve against Solaris though. I just basically rammed Pineco up Garchomp's ass, and scared the shit out of Garchomp with Hydra. I'm just LAUGHING at Solaris now. Time to find a few more Pinecos, and time to breed Cottonee too! 7. Chapter XXVII: The Search For Cain, And The Mysterious Azurine Island! I arrive on Azurine Island by boat, and find a whole lot of wild Foongus. I also find a shiny object in the water. However, it's one of Cain's earrings. Something must have happened to him! I also happen to find TM51 Ally Switch. I get lost for a little bit, but I eventually find my way once I remember that I have to cut the trees. Thank you, Persian! As I continue my journey into the mysterious Azurine Island, I find many different Pokemon and items, with so many different paths too! Along the way, I find a mysterious building. I journey deeper into the island, collecting items along the way, and find my way to the entrance of the building. When I enter the building, I find Aster and Eclipse waiting for me. I KNEW Team Meteor was here! Eclipse is completely surprised at my presence, and they say I'm too late finding Cain. Eclipse reveals that they capture him. I KNEW they captured Cain! They said it was the Boss's orders. He told them that Cain escaped from the previous ambush, and so they had to correct the mistake. This is my first time facing them alone. The other times I battled them, I had assistance. This time, I'm fighting alone. Aster, Eclipse, I'm not alone. As long as I have my Pokemon, I'm never alone. Aster and Eclipse send out Solrock and Lunatone while I send out Gardevoir and Hydra. Gardevoir uses Magical Leaf on Lunatone, while Hydra attacks Solrock with Bite. Unfortunately, the two extra-terrestrial Pokemon don't get knocked out, and Lunatone lands a Hypnosis on Hydra. I switch out from Hydra to Arc, but as I do, Aster gives Solrock a Hyper Potion. However, Gardevoir knocks out Lunatone easily with Magical Leaf. Eclipse sends out Rhydon, and Gardevoir easily knocks it out with Magical Leaf. Meanwhile, Solrock gets knocked out thanks to Arc's Crunch. Eclipse sends out Magmar, and Aster sends out Electabuzz. I have Gardevoir and Arc gang up on Electabuzz, and take it out. Aster sends out Milotic, which is strange, because I thought Eclipse would have Milotic. Magmar finally decides to use Mach Punch on Arc, when it could have done that before! I have Gardevoir use Magical Leaf on Milotic, but it doesn't do much damage. Odd. Anyways, I send out Corey, and Milotic uses Confuse Ray on Gardevoir, and then uses Confuse Ray on Corey. Corey's Sucker Punch hits, and knocks out Magmar in two more turns. As soon as Gardevoir got her act straight, Milotic knocks her out with Hydro Pump. I send out Persian, and have Persian and Corey gang beat Milotic down to the ground with Cut and Sucker Punch. Aster and Eclipse didn't stand a chance. Aster and Eclipse are disappointed they lost, but they still wish me good luck finding Cain. Aster says that they hid him here good. Perhaps he's in this room? Eclipse asks Aster if he can shut up just once, and tells him that he basically TOLD me he was here. They then leave anyways. I look around the room, and find a strange machine. As soon as I click a button, the machine moves to the left, revealing a door to another room. It looks like this is one of Team Meteor's bases... Don't worry, Cain, I'll save you! On my right as I enter, I find a console. I find that it's a recovery unit to heal my Pokemon with! I heal my Pokemon, and head onward to the core. I find the core of the building, and find Taka with a few grunts and a Camerupt trapped in a cell. Not only that, but I find that Cain is in another cell too. Taka reports to his boss that Camerupt is ready to go. He then notices me shortly, and Cain notices me too. Taka apologizes for capturing Cain, and says that they were ordered to capture him, and he happened to be sailing right by. Cain then says that he's a damsel in distress, and tells me to save him. He even calls me his darling prince... Taka asks me how I found them anyways. He tells me that Azurine Island was meant to be for breeding Pokemon and repopulating the region, so no humans should come here... Though if no humans are here, why is Team Meteor here? He says that the building we're in was a breeding center, until they hijacked it that is... Cain reveals that Team Meteor's trying to attack Apophyll, and Taka says he's right. He reveals that their plan is to take a PULSE Machine up Pyrous Mountain, and strap Camerupt to the machine. THAT'S why they have Camerupt! Taka reveals that Pyrous Mountain is the last active volcano in Reborn. They're going to amplify Camerupt's Eruption attack, and burn away Apophyll off the map. He also says that they were ordered to capture ME, and since I waltzed in here, they're going to do that. But first, Taka's going to battle me. Taka... Why are you doing this? Reborn would remain beautiful if Team Meteor didn't try to ruin it! Taka sends out Cradily while I send out Gardevoir. I have Gardevoir build up her special attack and special defense stats with Calm Mind, and Cradily uses Confuse Ray on Gardevoir. Eventually, Gardevoir snaps out of confusion, and knocks out Cradily in one hit with a +3 Psychic attack! Taka sends out Floatzel, a new one he got, who nearly knocks out Gardevoir, but faints from Gardevoir's Magical Leaf. Taka sends out Chatot, who knocks out Gardevoir with HEAT WAVE. HOW DOES CHATOT EVEN KNOW THAT MOVE?! Anyways, I send out Arc, and confuse Chatot with Arc's Swagger. Arc nearly knocks out Chatot with Slash, but Chatot ends up knocking itself out from confusion. Seems that I won the battle! Taka is surprised he lost, but he doesn't care. He lets me go, and tells the grunts to bring Camerupt as they retreat, and hope that I don't try stopping them. He even says that it would be a right shame if I did, saving all those people and all. They retreat, and I let Cain free. I look at him awkwardly from before, and he says that he's joking about that... Though I could still be his prince if I want. He then tells me that we should hurry, or else Team Meteor's going to erupt Pyrous Mountain, and destroy Apophyll! He tells me that he's going to head there now- without getting captured this time- and stop them. He tells me to hurry, and leaves. I head back to Apophyll Beach, and head to the Academy, where Victoria comes outside and tells me that Cain told them everything. She tells me that Kiki wants us all inside, because she has something important to say. I guess I'll go in there then... I wonder what Kiki has to say? Current Pokemon Stats Nothing much happened, I've been training Gardevoir and Arc. 8. Chapter XXVI: Kiki, The Sensei Of Meditation! After a long while of training the hell out of my Pokemon (and many other things), I head to the courtyard of the Apophyll Academy. I heal my Pokemon, and I find that everybody's surrounding the battlefield, waiting patiently for the battle to begin. I walk up to Kiki and she tells me to go to my corner, which I then do so. She then tells me that she will see how well my discipline holds me. Victoria goes over the rules of the battle, and then the battle begins. Kiki... I hope you're alright... Sensei Kiki sends out Machamp, while I send out Hydra. Hydra uses Dragon Dance twice to build up his stats, while Machamp uses Payback twice. Hydra then knock out Machamp with an Aqua Tail, and Kiki sends out Medicham, who easily faints from Aqua Tail. Kiki sends out Gallade next, but fails to survive from Aqua Tail. Kiki sends out Toxicroak, but Aqua Tail doesn't affect Toxicroak. Instead, Hydra uses a Bite attack, which gives critical damage to Toxicroak, but it still survives. Just when I am about to finish off Toxicroak, Kiki heals Toxicroak with a Hyper Potion. Hydra gives a few more Bites to Toxicroak, and finishes off Toxicroak with a critical hit. Kiki sends out Scrafty, and Hydra tries to knock out Scrafty. I give Hydra a Super Potion, and apparently, Kiki has the same idea of healing Scrafty. Hydra hits Scrafty with another Aqua Tail, but still fails to knock him out. Scrafty then nearly wipes out Hydra, so I have to use a Hyper Potion to heal Hydra. Normally, I wouldn't use a Hyper Potion, but I want to win with a sweep from Hydra, soooo, I'm going to do that. Hydra finishes off Scrafty with a few Bites. Kiki then sends out Lucario, her final Pokemon. Hydra, now back at level 46, ignores my order, and does Dragon Dance. However, Hydra obeys the next turns, and obliterates Lucario. Do you all know what this means? I won. HYDRA STYLE. Kiki then proceeds to give me the badge, and possibly the HM Strength, but then she faints! Victoria rushes to her side, and we take Kiki to her room. Victoria helps Kiki recover, and Kiki says that she can't hide her illness with a facade anymore. Victoria tries cheering her up by telling her about all her accomplishments, but Kiki cuts her off and says she's still weak. Victoria tries to calm her down, but then Kiki gets out of control. She says that no matter what she does, her body is still killing itself. Victoria then storms out of the room in frustration, but Kiki tries to stop her. Kiki then tells me to leave her room because she wants to be alone. And so, I respect her wishes. I get out of her room, and Victoria tells me that she's never seen Kiki upset or faint before. She tells me that Kiki should get some rest alone for a while. She then goes back into Kiki's room and says that she'll try to keep things together so that hopefully Kiki can get better. She tells me that she'll get the HM and my badge too. However, there's something that's bothering her... She tells me that Cain was supposed to battle Kiki too, but he never came... She asks me if I saw him leave the Coral Ward, but he probably got lost. However, maybe he went to a different place... Azurine Island. Something must have happened to him there. She asks me if I can go look for him there. After all, he DOES have the key to the Wasteland. Time to look for Cain! Current Pokemon Stats The Team's trained pretty well. I DID give Charles and Hydra Common Candies before, but Hydra leveled back up to 46. 9. Well, it finally happened. After waiting for two weeks, I finally got to battle Amaria, and I have completed my quest. Now, all that is left is to save the land of Reborn from Team Meteor.

  10. Chapter XXV: The Apophyll Academy, The Ways of Life, And The Test To Be The Best! When I get to Apophyll Beach, I run around on it for a while. I head deeper into the beach, and find some trainers to battle. I find one trainer who gives a Lord Of The Rings reference, just like how the one Meteor grunt referenced to Gandalf in Mosswater Factory. Good times... I find a huge academy, but before I go in it, I look around, battle people, and find items. Eventually, I head inside the academy. When I head inside the academy, I find a Pokemon Center, and a library upstairs. I learn a few things from the people living there, and I head to the other side of the building, where I find that one person tells me that a strange man has been coming to their academy recently. He's quiet, but he never fights, even though he attends every lecture. He also goes to train at the volcano, Pyrous Mountain. Strange... According to someone, Victoria has a lover. Heh heh. I head downstairs, where I find a girl blocking a door. I find a girl who talks about a guy named Ca, who is apparently Victoria's boyfriend. Apparently, the door that's blocked leads to Kiki's room, and the girl says that she's at the training grounds, which is just outside the door. I go outside into the courtyard, and I find cabins and a bunch of trainers to battle. I head inside the cabins, then talk to everybody and battle them as well. After I battle everybody in there, I head outside and head to the Training Ground, where I find a magenta haired girl teaching a lecture. Could that girl be Kiki...? Then that means... She's probably going to die soon, just like what Shade's prediction said! Kiki then asks me if I'm a new student, which I reply yes. I then take a seat, and she shows everybody a bowl. She adds stones to it, and asks if it's full. She then fills sand in, and the sand goes between the rocks. She asks if it's entirely filled, but then she adds water into the bowl, which seeps into the sand, down into the rocks. She says that it has to do with everything in life. She tells us to imagine that the bowl is our lives. The rocks are the things that matter most to us, like our loved ones, and our dreams. The sand is everything we must do, such as meeting deadlines, or working off expenses. She empties the bowl, and then fills it with sand first, and can't fill it with rocks. If we put the necessities first, there is no room for what is important to us. The lesson is: Do not let yourself be bogged down in the sands of life. Focus instead on what truly matters. Everything else will simply fall into place... After the lesson, everyone leaves but Kiki. I talk to Kiki, and she formally welcomes me as a student of Apophyll Academy. She is honored to have earned my faith, and looks forward to observing my diligence and growth in the coming weeks. She then says that she'll assign me a dormitory and schedule as soon as we return to the academy. I also tell her that I came here seeking the HM Strength. She says that it is typically awarded to graduating students of the Academy. She says that for now, I have to meet her in her room, and they will officially enroll me. As I try to go into the courtyard, Victoria arrives and stops me. One of the girls is shocked that Victoria's back, and thought that Victoria was going to go train. However, as Victoria wanted to take on the Reborn League, so many other important things have been happening. She says that we have to speak with Kiki at once, and asks the girl if she's in her room. She just came in, so it's possible. As Victoria goes on ahead, the student asks me if I'm Victoria's friend, and says that I'm very lucky. According to her, Victoria's the top student of the academy! Not only that, but Kiki too her as her personal apprentice! I head into Kiki's Room, where I find that Victoria told Kiki the reason why we need the HM Strength. Incidentally, I came here looking for the HM too. Victoria introduces me to Kiki, and says that we're working together to save the children. Kiki says that she's moved by our plight, however... I still have to graduate the Academy, and if I don't, it would disrespect every student who has followed it before. Victoria then says that she wishes to apply for graduation. Kiki isn't surprised, because she was hoping she would ask. Especially since Kiki's condition is worsening... She then shakes it off, and asks Victoria if she was successful of challenging the Reborn League as she requested. However, Victoria was not. In fact, she never even challenged a Gym Leader. Every time she was going to, something urgent happened. Kiki tells her that the HM requires a certain badge. She asks me if I'm successful so far, and I reply that I am, except for Corey's suicidal death happening... COREY!!! Victoria says that I can handle another badge, and Kiki asks Victoria if she's willing to hand off the HM regardless. She supposes that it can't be helped, but knowing that it's Victoria's intention, she feels obligated to test me as well. She then grants Victoria permission to stay here and test for graduation. he tells me that my test is different, and says that Apophyll lies in the shadow of Pyrous Mountain, and says that atop Pyrous Mountain is one of her newest, though finest, students. Victoria's shocked at what she's about to do, but Kiki shushes her, and tells her to have faith in me. She tells me to climb the mountain, find her student, and challenge him. She says that if we are both successful, we may have the HM. She wishes us luck, as we head off to Pyrous Mountain. As I head out the door, Victoria stops me. She wanted to wish me good luck, and says that the student Kiki is talking about is Cal. She says that Cal was once the Fire-type Leader for the Reborn League, but he retired and came here after a certain incident... She says that he's really strong and cute, but then she realizes that she just said that... She says that in order to get very far into Pyrous Mountain, I have to drain the lava from the upper floors. She says that if I look, there should be choke points in between the levels, and sometimes they get clogged up. She says to give the right one a smash, and I'll be good to go. She then tells me to give Cal her regards. She tells me not to worry about her test, because she IS the top student after all. I head inside the mountain, and head left. I notice three pillars with rocks in them. However, when I smash them, I only find Magcargos. I find a way, but it's covered with lava. I then find stairs leading to the basement, and I find a pillar. I smash the rock, and it drains out lava from above. I then head lower, and find myself surrounded by lava. I smash the lonely rock in the pillar, and more lava sinks. Eventually, I make it to a place where I'm surrounded by lava, but I see a Heatmor. I'll catch it later. Once I empty the lava, I head to the summit of Pyrous Mountain, where I find a red-haired boy named Cal, who is currently meditating. After long silence, he introduces himself. He asks if I need anything, and I tell him that Kiki sent me. He tells me that he hasn't had a serious battle since he resigned as Gym Leader... Even back then, he was misguided. He let his anger drive and control him. He came here because he wanted to learn to let go of the rage he felt toward his brother. Everything he'd ever done was just to try and prove himself better than him... And then... He asks me if I met a Reborn Gym Leader named Shelly. He asks me how she is these days, and says that she might be timid because of him. He used to keep her around and watch over her. They were always scorned by their brothers and their families. He says that his brother Blake always got the attention. He always got the praise, and anything Cal ever did was just a sloppy second. Back then, Cal was too full of rage to see that Blake was the source of his anger. Shelly, however, understood his pain. However, she didn't understand at the same time. One day, she said something to him, and he reacted horridly. He... regrets hurting her more than anything else. Yet because of it, he was finally able to change... He apologizes, and says that he's supposed to be meditating. He can see clearly now, but the source of his energy is exhausted. He is now filled with regret. He says he's going to stop talking and start battling. Cal... I'll help you find your center. Trust me. Ex-Leader Cal sends out Infernape, while I send out Hydra. Hydra viciously knocks out Infernape with Aqua Tail, and Cal sends out Charizard, who gets knocked out too. Cal sends out Magmortar, who gets blown away by Aqua Tail too. Cal sends out Typhlosion, who gets wiped out by Aqua Tail too. Cal sends out Torkoal, who gets knocked down from Aqua Tail. Cal sends out Blaziken, who just gets knocked out the same fate as the rest of them did. Cal is just too easy. Cal realizes that he seems to have lost his fire after all. He says that he only trained Fire-types because he wanted to beat Blake's Ice-types. He realizes that's foolish, and he tells me to go tell Kiki that I beat him. He'll be staying up here, because he has things to finish. I then teleport back to the Academy, and find that Victoria's trying to stop Kiki from hurting herself. However, Kiki is practicing Willpower. One must fight hard to keep the chaos inside... She then notices my return, and tells me to pay no regard to the weakness I just witnessed. Victoria asks if I was able to beat him, which I did without a sweat, thanks to Hydra. Victoria has already been informed of everything she must do. Kiki then tells me to fight her in an official Reborn League match. If I win, I get the badge, and also the HM. She then tells me that she will be waiting in the courtyard. As I head out to the courtyard, Victoria stops me. She tells me that she DIDN'T get the graduation exam. Instead, she was given the instructions on how to run things at the academy. In reality, Victoria tells me that Kiki... is dying... Victoria has been chosen to take her place. Kiki's been sick for months, but she's been trying to hide it from everyone... There is no cure for it. Kiki tells her these instructions because she intends for Victoria to take over when she... dies... She then tries to stop me because she doesn't want me fighting Kiki this way. Victoria, if Kiki wants a battle, I'll give her one! Victoria sends out Scraggy while I send out Gardevoir. I switch out Gardevoir for Corey and knock out Scraggy with Revenge. Victoria sends out Gallade, and Corey Sucker Punches Gallade. Unfortunately, that doesn't do the trick, and Gallade knocks down Corey. I send out Persian this time, and attack with Fake Out. Victoria uses a few Hyper Potions on Gallade, and I attack with a few Cuts. Unfortunately, Persian gets knocked out, and I send out Gardevoir, who sadly gets knocked out by Gallade's Night Slash. Victoria sends out Heracross, who I use Arc's Swagger right after I send Arc out. Heracross manages to knock out Arc, and I send out Charles to help. Luckily, I revive Gardevoir, and knock out Heracross with Slash. I send out Gardevoir while Victoria sends out Emboar. Unfortunately, Gardevoir gets knocked out from Assurance, and I send out Charles to finish off Emboar with Wing Attack. Victoria sends out Hariyama, who knocks down Charles. I send out Hydra, who knocks down Hariyama with Aqua Tail. After a long, tiring battle, I finally win! I'll win this... For the kids... Current Pokemon Stats WHOA, Hydra leveled up quick. 11. Chapter XXIV: The Poisoned Azurine Lake Conspiracy! As soon as I leave the Abandoned Power Plant, I head straight for the Underground Railnet. When I get to the door, I find Victoria pacing around. She's glad to see me, and says that she doesn't know what to do. She ran into Cain, who told her that Shelly and a bunch of other children were kidnapped! They're being kept past there, but there's all this debris in the way. Thanks Cain! She tells me that a Pokemon can move the debris but... I would need the HM Strength to move it, and the badge to use it... She asks me if I remember the Apophyll Academy. She tells me that it's located on the other side of Azurine Lake... Her sensei Kiki teaches the Apophyll Academy, and she has the HM Strength. As soon as Victoria told Cain that, he ran off right away... He really wants to help those kids... She tells me that the badge to use Strength is the Venom (Blight in the newer versions) Badge... From the Poison Gym Leader... DAMN IT COREY, Y U NO GIVE ME THE VENOM/BLIGHT BADGE BEFORE YOU DIED?!? She tells me that the new Poison Gym Leader is Aya, something I already know. She also tells me that she's Cain's sister, something I ALSO know. She tells me that only Cain has the key to get into the Wasteland. Say... Cain still owes me the key! She tells me that we need to follow Cain across the Azurine Lake, and if we make it, we can catch up to him at the Coral Ward! I then go to the Coral Ward and try to find Cain. However, I first make a pit stop and name Sharpedo Arc. I'm thinking about naming Gardevoir, but I won't for now. Instead, I head to the Coral Ward. On my way there, I run into a few battles, but no harm done. Once I get to the Coral Ward, I heal my Pokemon, and find Cain. He apologizes for destroying the easy way to get into the Yureyu Building, and says that he's going to get back in there and save everyone. He says that the acidic water will destroy any boat that tries to cross it. Even Water-types can't surf on it... He then sends out Muk and rides on it across the Azurine Lake. Now what do I do? As I head back, the warehouse that was locked before opens, and out comes Amaria! She asks me what I' doing here, and I tell her my reason. She says that normally there's a ferry that travels from the Coral Ward to the Apophyll Beach, but thanks to the poison in the water, the boat isn't running... Actually, she found something out. Amaria's been keeping data on where exactly all of the pollution is coming from, and she just finished tracing it. It seems like all of the pollution is coming from one place- the old Abandoned Factory up in the West Peridot Ward? Remember the place where I met Fern for the first time? Yeah, it's THAT factory. Amaria was just going to go up there to see if she can put a stop to it, and maybe purify the lake, but she asks me if I want to come with her and help save the Azurine Lake. She says that she'll meet me outside the factory, and leaves. Could it be... Team Meteor's doings? I head up to Blacksteam Factory, right where Amaria said she'd be. Unfortunately, there's no way to get in. However, Amy finds a way. She sends out Deliverance, her Lapras, and she tells her Lapras to use Waterfall then Ice Beam, which creates a majestic stairway, and then Amaria calls back Deliverance. She then climbs up, and so I will follow. When I get in, I find a narrow corridor, and then go through. I find Ame cornered by two Meteor grunts. I KNEW Team Meteor was behind the water pollution! Must I say, DANG, Amaria has a Powerful Lapras. Level 74, and it OBEYS! Deliverance beats the two for me, and I didn't even break a sweat! One of the grunts runs off to warn their boss of our presence, and Amaria tells me to move on ahead with her before anymore show up. I follow her downstairs, and find that she's surrounded by Meteor grunts. Amaria asks if I trust her, in which I do. She tells me to get ready, because we're about to enter the longest fight of our lives. She sends out Deliverance, and tells Deliverance to use Ice Shard in front of the grunts, allowing me enough time to slip by. Meanwhile, the Meteor grunts all swarm in on her. She then sends out Atlantica, her Kingdra. She tells me not to worry about her, and she tells me to just find a way to shut down the factory and save Azurine Lake. As I move on ahead, I get pushed around by Meteor Grunts who don't even fight me. I move on ahead, and go into a room where I find myself encountered by Him. However, just as when I thought it was the man in black, the strange man in the brown trenchcoat comes out of the corner instead. He is surprised that he encounters me again, and he says that mistake will be corrected now. He then says goodbye as he pulls a trap door on me making me fall! I land in a room with all of these Pokemon trapped in cages. Eventually a Meteor grunt notices me trapped in the cell with all of the Pokemon, and says "Have fun being imprisoned with all of the other Pokemon stolen from our Daycare scam in Obsidia! You all are going NOWHERE!" I then think of a plan to get out. So THIS is where the stolen Pokemon ended up... To get out of here, I use Loudred to deafen my ears, then go to Abra to bond with my mind, then teleport Vanillite to a cage, then go back to Loudred, then back to Abra, teleport Makuhita, then Ditto turns into Makuhita, uses Close Combat and frees itself! I then interact with the Ditto once it turns back to normal. It wants to travel with me, but I don't have enough room in my team to take it. I will be back later for it though. I then teleport Vanillite to Makuhita's old cage, and teleport Jigglypuff to the cage that is closest to the grunt. I try using it, but Jigglypuff just sings. When I wake up, Jigglypuff is angry. This time, I deafen my ears, teleport Loudred to the cage next to Abra, deafen my ears again, and this time the guard falls asleep, with Jigglypuff delighted! I teleport Jigglypuff to the empty cage, and teleport Vanillite. I freeze the cell wall, and teleport Vanillite back. I teleport Roggenrola, and Rock Blast through the wall, and escape! However, the guard is still sleeping... While Standing... Strange guard... However, I decide to battle the guard anyways, so I battle him, and win. I head downstairs into a room that gets darker as I progress. Eventually, I stumble upon TM Telekinesis. I leave, and head upstairs, and then upstairs where I find Meteor grunts and scientists. Somewhere along the lines, I find some Meteor Grunts that are higher ranked than usual grunts. Meteor Dames and Meteor Knights. I find a scientist who doesn't fight, but prefers the pen over the sword. He tells me that Team Meteor is trying to uncover a hidden secret, and he must know its truths. I find a switch in the room he was in, and it opens the front door. As I progress deeper into the factory, I find that a room is heavily guarded with two locked gates. There's one already right there, so I disengage that, but then I go into a room and find a few Meteor grunts. Some are just not that innocent. I find the switch to the second gate, and disengage it. I enter the door, and I find ZEL, Lumi says that I shouldn't be here, but the strange man notices me. He asks what I'm doing and calls me a little child. He says I am meddling in dangerous affairs, and says that he'll put an end to it, but stops himself as he tells me to follow him into the deeper part of the room. He shows me a Muk attached to a PULSE Machine, but Eve tells him that I already know about it, because I'm the one who contributed to the destruction of the PULSE-Tangrowth Project. He's surprised that I'm the one, and tells me that this PULSE Machine is different than the one I've seen. He knows who I am. He tells me that this PULSE is attached to a Muk, and tells me to look at the pain Muk is in... Its withering countenance... He then sends out Garchomp and tries to execute me while I'm distracted! However, Someone tells Atlantica to use Ice Beam. Amaria saved me! He says that I would have been dead and out of the way if she hadn't come to the rescue. Amaria jumps from a balcony, and lands. The strange man calls back his Garchomp, and Amaria asks me if I'm okay. She asks if this PULSE is flooding the water with poison. She then asks the man why would he want to do that, because he's destroying the beautiful lake, and says that he's making life harder for the people in the city. He says that's exactly why. He says that if the people are miserable, they'll leave. If their homes are destroyed by plants, they have nowhere to live. If the water is poisoned, they die. He says that soon they'll be leaving. All of them will. And no more will be coming- Grandview Station is already destroyed. This will become a vacant ruined city again. As it should have stayed in the first place! This makes Amaria MAD. She calls him awful, and says that he's hurting people just to chase them away? And for what? He says that she doesn't understand anything. He tells her not to pretend that she understands their motives, because they're not petty sadists, nor are they petty thieves. However, he says that he can't help but notice the Bracelet that Amaria is wearing... He asks if it's a Sapphire Bracelet, and she replies with a yes. She says that it was a gift from Tania, and he's not going to take it if that's what he's thinking of doing. She walks up to him and says that he already pulled one dirty trick on me, and that he's not going to pull another trick on her, and she's not going to risk me getting hurt again. He remarks that she's placed herself on a high pedestal, and asks her if he can knock her off of it. Amaria tells me to try deactivating the PULSE while she deals with their boss. The boss tells ZEL to protect the PULSE. Eve tells me that my role in this act has concluded, and says goodbye. I'm sorry ZEL, But I have to defeat you! I have to protect Azurine Lake! ZEL sends out Glaceon while I send out Arc. Arc uses Crunch, which makes ZEL use a Hyper Potion. Arc then knocks out Glaceon, making ZEL send out PULSE-Muk. Unfortunately, PULSE-Muk's Gunk Shot knocks out Arc without any trouble. I send out Gardevoir and use Calm Mind to boost up her stats. I knock out PULSE-Muk with Gardevoir's Psychic, and then ZEL sends out Umbreon. Unfortunately, Gardevoir faints from Umbreon's Faint Attack, so I send out Corey. Eventually, I knock out Umbreon with Corey's Revenge, after a long while of being confused. ZEL sends out Espeon, who faints immediately from Corey's Sucker Punch, and that defeats ZEL! Lumi apologizes to their leader, who's identity has been confirmed as Solaris. He calls us useless, and says that the damage is done. He's still battling Amaria with a Tyranitar in his hand, and Deliverance in Amaria's hand. As a parting gift, he tells Tyranitar to use Superpower... On Amaria... He knocks out Amaria, and issues a retreat. Amaria gets up, and thanks me for shutting down the PULSE. She tells me that she's okay, but a little winded. At least the water won't be polluted anymore. However, he said that the damage is already done, which could mean that it's permanent. Amaria says that a lot has been ruined, but in time, the Water Treatment Center under the city will clean it out... She calls Deliverance back, and walks away. However, she walks back and asks if I still need a ride across the lake. She says that I can take her boat, and she says that before the waters go through the Treatment Center, they'll still damage the ship, but She gets the feeling that I'll need it now more than later. She then gives me the Harbor Key. She says that key opens her dock in the Coral Ward, the dock we first met at. She says I can help myself to the boat, and says that she's going to go home and rest for a while. She also says one more thing before she leaves, and says that Tania's probably waiting for her too... She tells me that she lives up in the Aventurine Region, which is just north of Reborn City, and says that if I'm ever in the area, I should totally drop by. She thanks me again for my help, and leaves. I head to the Pokemon Center and drop off a Pokemon in the PC, and head back to pick up the Ditto... HOLY SHIT, A SHINY DITTO WITH A PERFECT ABILITY AND PERFECT NATURE!!! I mean... Welcome to the team, Ditto! The only thing that sucks about Ditto is... IT'S LEVEL 5!!! Anyways, it's no wonder that Ditto was among the many caged Pokemon. People use it to breed WAY too much. I might actually use Ditto on the team against a powerful threat in the future... I head back to the Coral Ward and unlock the door to Amaria's dock with the Harbor Key, and hop in the boat and head for Apophyll Beach! Solaris... What could you possibly want with the Sapphire Bracelet? Why... Why are you doing all of this? Current Pokemon Stats Well, the team leveled up quite a bit, and Sharpedo has been renamed to Arc, in honor of the leader of the Aqua Gang. Also, Ditto is a new member on the team, as Ditto is the breeding machine. But still... THAT SHINY DITTO. 12. Chapter XXIII: Shade, The Mysterious Ghost! When I get to the Abandoned Power Plant, I find a cave. I Rock Smash the rock, and I get to the cave. The only thing I find is a lone Croagunk and a shiny rock to smash. Strangely, this Croagunk seems familiar... That Croagunk... As it was being released, it looked back at Corey, but probably not just at Corey, but at me! That Croagunk... Is Corey's Croagunk! But why does it want to travel with me? Corey... Your name shall not be forgotten... From this day forth... This Croagunk shall carry your name! After catching Croagunk, I find another Phanpy, because when I tried putting Phanpy in the PC, I accidentally caused a glitch that took away my Phanpy. Sooo, I have to catch another Phanpy! After looking for a Phanpy (and catching one), I decide that it's time to train Carvanha and Corey. I head underground the Grand Stairway, and train the two against the Unown. Eventually after some training, Corey evolves into... a Toxicroak! After training Corey to level 40, I then train Carvanha. Shortly after some training, Carvanha evolves into... a Sharpedo! After evolving and raising Sharpedo to level 40, I head for the Abandoned Power Plant. I find out that this is Yureyu's Power Plant. When I head inside, all I can see is darkness. The lights flicker on and off rarely, and I find two directions to go, with the north direction blocked off by several gates. I decide to go right because I feel like it. I find a path that has a lone computer. I turn on the computer, and the lights turn on for a bit as I see on the screen a memory of seeing Corey fall off the edge of Beryl Bridge! I wonder if Shade did this to remind me of this? I head back to the entrance, thinking that this is too much for me. However, I decide to head to the left wing this time, and find anymore computers. I notice that the first gate is unlocked. I go to the top part, cause again, I feel like it. I turn on the computer, and I look on the screen that a Garchomp mysteriously appears behind a girl with magenta hair and murders her! Can Shade... Predict the future? I head back to the entrance and find that another gate is unlocked. I go back to the west wing, and I find another computer close by, and turn it on. When I turn it on, I see Amaria smiling, and then I see a red-haired girl walk up to her, and push her, making her fall off a cliff or something! I hope if Shade can see this happening... I head back to the entrance, and find that the third gate has been unlocked. Apparently, seeing these deaths open up the gates, leading me to Shade! I then go back to the east wing, and eventually find another computer, dare should I turn it on. When I turn it on, I find a green-haired girl and a flash. When the flash ends, the girl's head rolls off of her body, and her body is sliced into pieces! This... Isn't... Real! Whatever you're trying to pull Shade, it isn't real! I head back to the entrance and find that all of the gates are now unlocked, and I can get to Shade! I go up to him, and he only says nothing. He then floats to the corner, and shows an evil grin, and begins the battle. Shade, I know that you won't talk, but what are you trying to say? Speak to me! Shade is merely an Entity. Strangely, the music is backwards. He sends out Rotom, while I send out Sharpedo. Sharpedo uses Crunch on Rotom, and knocks it out. Shade sends out Chandelure, who's surprisingly slower than Sharpedo who gets a speed boost and Crunches on Chandelure, knocking it down to one life. Chandelure uses Hidden Power, which nearly knocks Sharpedo away. I give Sharpedo a Super Potion while Shade heals Chandelure with a Hyper Potion. I attack Chandelure once more, but Chandelure knocks out Sharpedo with an Energy Ball. I send out Persian who uses Bite on Chandelure while Shade heals Chandelure with a Hyper Potion. Unfortunately, Persian gets burned from Flame Body. I have Persian use another Bite, and Chandelure is down. Shade sends out Golett while I switch out Persian for Corey, who knocks out Golett with a Sucker Punch. After that, Shade sends out a Gengar named Corey. I wonder if Shade turned Corey into a Gengar since Shade DID take his remains. Coincidentally, Corey the Gengar is level 37, the same level that Croagunk evolves into Toxicroak, and Croagunk was one of Corey's Pokemon, and now a Pokemon in which I possess. I give Corey the Gengar a Sucker Punch from Corey the Toxicroak, and knock it out. Shade sends out Spiritomb, who laughs at Corey's Sucker Punch. Luckily, Corey gives Spiritomb a critical hit Sucker Punch, and knocks it out. Shade then sends out Dusclops. Corey hits Dusclops with a Faint Attack, and Dusclops tries to burn Corey, but fails. Eventually, I knock out Dusclops and win the battle. "...Abyss favors the forsaken..." Those are the words of Shade. He gives me the Omen Badge, which means that Pokemon that are level 45 will obey me. He also gives me TM30 Shadow Ball. I ask him if he can turn on the Power Plant, and he turns it on. He tells me to observe as he shows an event in the Underground Railnet. Meanwhile... Anna's surprised that I did it, but then... He shows up again. He says that this is even more convenient than he expected. Charlotte asks him who he is, and he says that's none of her business. He then tells his grunts to seize all of them, and they are captured, one by one. Cain runs and sends out Nidoking to stop them. He then tells Nidoking to use Earthquake, and it makes a huge crack between Cain and Team Meteor. He calls Nidoking back and retreats. The strange man tells the grunt to let Cain go, because he's not part of the deal. He says that they got everything the Doctor ordered... DAMNIT, NOT AGAIN! Shade says that dying souls are the key to my gain, and he tells me to not let them suffer to the poison in vain... He then vanishes. Shade... What a poet... Current Pokemon Stats Well, all I needed for the battle was Sharpedo, Persian, and Corey. Sharpedo and Corey leveled up to 40 pretty good, and they both learned some new moves. I ended up teaching Corey Rock Smash cause I'm tired of using Phanpy for that. 13. Chapter XXII: The Call Of Freedom! The Next Morning... After a good night's sleep, I am ready to infiltrate Dr. Sigmund's mysterious orphanage, and bust Heather out. I head to the front where Cain and Shelly are, and I find that the orphanage is still locked, according to Shelly and Cain. However, when I try to open the door, a click unlocks the door. When I come in, I find that Anna opened the door for me! Cain says that the door was JUST locked, and he and Shelly both tried it! However, apparently she saw my glowiness through the wall, so she unlocked the door. Cain wonders what glowiness is, and Anna says that I glow! She introduces herself to Cain and Shelly, and Cain and Shelly introduce themselves to Anna. Cain comments that Anna is peppy, but Noel says that she always is, and always when it's least appropriate. However, according to Anna, when it's least appropriate is when it's most necessary! Charlotte asks us why we're here, and assumes it's for the other girl that was just brought in. Anna remarks that the girl was kicking and screaming the whole way, not that that's unusual... Shelly tells the orphans that we are going to save the poor girl. Cain says that it's a prison break, and asks them if they want to come. Charlotte asks him if it's a question, because if she has a chance to get out of here, she's gone. Shelly replies that we're not leaving without Heather. Charlotte says that of course we're not. Besides, it's only a matter of seconds until the orderlies notice us and toss us out. Noel tells us that all of the orphans' Pokemon were confiscated, so we're going to be seriously out-numbered. Charlotte says that he's not kidding, and tells us that she can take care of a few of the orderlies for us, but if we don't come back for her, SHE WILL find us. Anna asks Charlotte what is she doing, but Charlotte says that she's going to create a diversion. Charlotte then goes over and makes a diversion by taunting the orderlies, and asks for her cigarettes. The orderly replies that she knows they can't do that, but she doesn't care, she keeps demanding for her cigarettes. The orderlies try to ask her to calm down, but she says that she'll calm down when she gets her smokes, and questions that what are they going to do, throw her in the Circuit? She taunts them some more, and that's just what the orderlies do. She DID ask for it, after all. She taunts them to try her, and that's just what they do. They grab her, and she bites one of them in retaliation. They try to restrain her, and they try getting her in the Circuit. Cain asks Anna what the Circuit is, but she says that the Circuit is where they put the really bad kids to be alone... Unfortunately, one of the orderlies spot us, and they come after us. They tell us that it's currently outside of visiting hours, and they ask us to leave. Cain says that we're going to have to decline their offer, and tell me and Shelly to attack the orderlies. And that is just what we do. We battle. While Cain and Shelly deal with the orderlies from the left and right, I battle the orderly in the middle. He sends out a Klink, while I send out Charles. Charles knocks out Klink easily, but it takes time because Charles disobeys. After Klink gets knocked out, the orderly sends out a Slowpoke, while I switch out Charles for Hydra. Hydra uses a couple of Bites on Slowpoke, and then Slowpoke gets knocked out. The orderly then sends out Elgyem, but one Bite does the trick. After I defeat the orderly, Cain and Shelly beat the other orderlies too. Shelly is surprised we beat them, but the orderlies go warn the Doctor of our presence. Anna introduces herself again to Shelly, and asks Shelly if they want to be friends, and Shelly is confused, but Anna says there's always room for one more, but Shelly says that she doesn't have that many friends. Anna says that she does, because she has many strings. Shelly asks what does she mean, but Anna says that every time a new friendship is formed, an invisible thread is tied between two people. However, these threads are not invisible to her... She says that Shelly has a lot of threads, and that she's never seen so many! She tells Shelly that a lot of people must care about her. Shelly is surprised, and Anna says that there's one more, now that they're friends. Noel warns us that the other orderlies are probably going to come back from locking Charlotte up soon... Cain says that he'll hold them off as best as he can, and tells me and Shelly to find Heather. Noel tells Cain to take a defensive position in the doorway. That way no matter how many of them there are, they can't gang up on you. Cain compliments Noel on being smart, and he sends out his Nidoking to help defend the door. A few orderlies show up, and grab Noel instead of Cain, and take him away upstairs. Anna tells us to stop them, and Shelly follows me. Before we go up there though, Shelly asks if Noel ever ignores Anna. Anna asks why, and Shelly says no reason. The other little boys there ask us what's going on, and Shelly tells them that we're going to save Heather. She says that everything will be okay. When I talk to Cain, he says a 'that's what she said' joke, and he tells Shelly that she'll understand when she's older. We then proceed to head upstairs. When we head upstairs, we find a few orderlies, and they battle us. The orderlies send out the usual Pokemon, Magnemite and Elgyem, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather, her Yanmega. While Charles burns away their Pokemon, Heather cuts away their Pokemon with Air Cutter. Magnemite gets knocked out, the orderly sends out Venomoth, which is a surprise. We cut and burn Venomoth, and the orderly sends out Kadabra, another surprise. Eventually, Elgyem gets knocked out from Heather's Struggle Bug, and Kadabra gets knocked out from Charles' Flame Burst. After one of the orderlies is defeated, we gang up on the other, and knock out Tynamo, who was sent out after Elgyem fainted. Slowpoke gets sent out, and we knock it out from Dragon Rage and Struggle Bug. After beating the two orderlies, we get told that whatever happens to Noel is none of our concern. One of the orderlies doesn't even care for the Doctor's methods. After dealing with them, we talk to the little boys here, and then pass them to battle two more orderlies, as they say that upstairs are the children's quarters, and that we cannot pass. One of them even says that we shall not interfere with the Doctor's design. Time to knock these guys down! The orderlies send out Clefairy and Klink, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather again. Heather knocks out Clefairy with Air Cutter, while I burn away Klink with Charles' Flame Burst. Since Clefairy went down, the orderly sends out a Golett. However, Heather knocks Golett out quickly with Giga Drain, and Charles knocks out Klink with Flame Burst. The orderly with the Golett sends out ANOTHER Golett, and the orderly with the Klink sends out a Blitzle. However, Charles knocks down the Blitzle with Flame Burst. The orderly sends out Klang, while Heather knocks down Golett. Charles then finishes off Klang with Flame Burst, and we win the battle! After the battle, the orderlies close a metal gate, preventing us from going upstairs! I talk to the orderly locked out, and he says that he honestly thinks that some of the things that go on here are wrong too. We go downstairs and I talk to Cain to see how he's doing. He says that these guys are a bit harder to deal with, and Shelly asks him if it's better to battle girls. However, that's not what he meant... Anyways, We go over to Anna, and ask her for help, and she says that there's an override program in the lab. She tells us that it's down the hall and to the left. She says that nobody is allowed to go down there, and that's why she knows about it. Perhaps this is Sigmund's room? I head down the hall, and find a room that's open. Apparently, this is Dr. Sigmund's Office, and the orderlies tell us to leave. The orderlies send out Aron and Drowzee. I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather. I burn Aron with Charles' Flame Burst, and knock out Aron. The orderly sends out Magnemite, while Heather uses Struggle Bug to try taking down Drowzee. Unintentionally, I knock down Drowzee with Charles' Slash, because Charles is still wanting to disobey me. The orderly sends out ANOTHER Drowzee, and I manage to get Magnemite down just before Magnemite tries to knock out Heather from the barrage of Electro Balls. Unfortunately, Drowzee manages to knock out Heather, and Shelly sends out Scyther. The orderly sends out Elgyem, and I knock it down with Charles' Flame Burst, while Drowzee gets knocked out from Scyther's Fury Cutter. The orderly sends out Hypno, and me and Shelly gang up on Hypno with Charles and Scyther. Scyther manages to land a strong Fury Cutter on Hypno, and Charles finishes Hypno off with a Wing Attack. After defeating the orderlies there, we try heading to the room on the left of Sigmund's Office, but it's locked. So, we proceed to head down to the lab, until we are spotted by a few more orderlies. The orderlies send out Voltorb and Piplup (I'm surprised they don't evolve their Pokemon!), while me and Shelly send out Charles and Heather again. Me and Shelly gang up on Piplup with a Wing Attack and a Giga Drain from Charles and Heather. The orderly sends out Prinplup, and Voltorb decides to end it all. Luckily for us, Self-Destruct didn't do anything much. The orderly sends out Magnemite, who gets attacked by Prinplup's Bind! WHY are you attacking your own teammate? Heather finishes off Magnemite, while the orderly then sends out Klink, who burns away immediately after being sent out. Who burned Klink? Charles, with his special Flame Burst. Prinplup gets knocked out from Heather's Struggle Bug, while the orderly sends out Golett next. Unfortunately for Golett, it faints just when Heather uses Giga Drain on it. We win the battle, and now it's time to override the gate! After we beat the orderlies in the lab, I get the Cell Battery that's there, and then I turn on the computer and override the gate. I head back and tell Anna that I overrode the gate, and she tells me to go upstairs and save Noel and Heather. When I head upstairs, I find that the children's quarters are prison cells. I find an item in one cell, but I can't reach it. I find a little boy in another cell, wanting to be free. I can't free him at the moment, so I have no choice but to move onward. I head upstairs, and find Noel locked up in a cell. He says it's a little inconvenient being held here, but he says that Heather is upstairs. He also tells us that the Doctor does his treatments on the top floor... He says he's fine, cause he's used to being locked in a room. Since I can't free him, I have no choice but to move onward. I head upstairs, and find the orderlies that I battled when I met Anna and the gang. Orderly John finds out that I'm the one doing all of this. When I was here before, they thought I was just staking out the place. They say that their responsibility to the children of Reborn will not be shaken, and they will do as they must to protect them. Shelly asks them if torturing the children is protection, and that they need to ask themselves who the real bad guy is... They say that we are not supposed to be here, and they tell us to leave. I'm not leaving without Heather! The orderlies send out Magnemite and Kadabra, while I send out Charles and Shelly sends out Heather. Charles nearly knocks Magnemite down, but it survives with Sturdy. Heather attacks Kadabra, and then Heather wipes them both out with Struggle Bug. They then send out Elektrik and Yanma, and I burn Elektrik when Heather knocked out Magnemite and Kadabra. Elektrik nearly wipes out Charles and Heather, but they survive. However, when Heather used Air Cutter to knock down Yanma to its last life, Elektrik unintentionally finished off Yanma with Discharge. The orderly sends out Venomoth, and Heather uses Ancient Power on it. However, Charles gets knocked out from Elektrik's Charge Beam. I send out a weak Pokemon like Phanpy, because I was using Phanpy to pick up items before. Eventually, Heather gets knocked out too, and Shelly sends out Scyther. Yanma goes down from Scyther's attack, and then Scyther gets knocked out from Discharge, but so does Elgyem when the orderly with the Yanma sent it out. Shelly sends out Masquerain, who won't do much since Elektrik got finished from Phanpy's Rollout. PHANPY'S ROLLOUT. John sends out Slowpoke, who gets knocked down from Masquerain's Struggle Bug. John sends out Magneton, who gets ganged up on by Masquerain's Bubble Beam and Phanpy's Rock Smash. In the end, Phanpy finishes the battle with ROCK SMASH. All the orderlies say is that we don't bring protection, but violence, which is a LIE. Phanpy starts to evolve, but I stop that from happening. The orderlies say that this is a building full of regrets. I go to the computer, which disengages the patients' cells, and frees everybody. I go to the little boy in the cell, who just says many strange things, as if he was insane. I head downstairs and talk to Noel, who wonders why we haven't rescued Heather yet. Shelly tells him that the door upstairs was locked. Noel says that there's a spare key in the Doctor's Private Office, but he usually keeps it locked... He then goes downstairs, and says that Anna might have an idea... I go downstairs, get the item in the cell, which was a Parlyz Heal, and then I head back downstairs and talk to Noel and Anna, who say that Cain not only defended the door, but pushed them back. I'm going to go in there and save Charlotte. I head into the Circuit, and talk to Cain. He's a bit busy, and he tells me to save Charlotte. I disengage her lock, and thanks us for saving her. Cain starts singing, and Charlotte asks him why he's singing, and simply calls him a Disney princess, with Cain saying that someday his prince will come and sweep him away! He asks Charlotte to be his prince, with Charlotte rejecting him. The orderlies get defeated by Cain, and Cain tells them that even he has his standards, and tells them to get out of here. He calls his Nidoking back as the orderlies retreat deeper into the Circuit. Cain says that he's going to take a break, and Charlotte says that while it's good and well, she still needs her cigarettes. She tells us that the storage room is down deeper into the Circuit, and we're going to have to break in. Cain sasses her and says "For drugs? Real good influence you are on the kids here." Charlotte tells the little princess not to sass her, because she was joking about those. What we REALLY need is to get the orphans' Pokemon back, because they're being kept in the storage room. I disengage the cell for the psychotic little boy, and when I talk to him long enough, he gives me a Rare Candy. I head down to the control room, and me and Shelly have to deal with the orderlies there. The orderlies send out Klink and Elgyem, while me and Heather send out Charles and Heather. Charles burns Elgyem with Flame Burst, while the orderly sends out Klang after Klink is down. While Charles burns away Klang, Heather beats up Elgyem with Struggle Bug. The orderly with the Klang sends out Drowzee, so Charles attacks Drowzee, while Heather knocks out Elgyem with Giga Drain. The orderly sends out Elektrik, and Charles burn Elektrik while Heather uses Struggle Bug on Drowzee and knocks it out. The orderly sends out Magnemite, and while Charles is disobeying, Heather knocks out Magnemite with a barrage of attacks, while finishing off with a critical hit Giga Drain. Time to get those Pokemon back! When I pass, Charlotte shows up, and threatens the orderlies that they better open up the storage, or she'll have me tear them to pieces with Charles. Oddly, they actually submit to her. She goes into the storage room, and finds four sets of Pokemon, each from Charlotte, Noel, Anna, and Heather. She'll be taking those, and she also takes an attractive looking pack of cigarettes. She also takes the key to Dr. Sigmund's Private Office. She then goes to unlock the door and give the twins back their stuff. She tells us to meet us upstairs after we disengage the gate. As I talk to the orderlies, they are surprised they got overrun by three kids. I head to Dr. Sigmund's Office, and then I head to his Private Office, which actually is unlocked, thanks to Charlotte. I disengage the lock to the top floor, and I proceed to the top floor. When I get to the top floor, I find all of the orderlies surrounded by the orphans, and Shelly finds Heather grabbed by an Electrivire. Charlotte says that the last guests arrived to the party, and asks the Doctor if he has a diagnosis for his situation. She thinks she does: Royally Screwed. Dr. Sigmund replies with the term 'cute', and asks Charlotte if she's had her fun. He says that they can deal with her incessant habit of acting out for attention in her own session, and says that this is Heather's session presently, and that she is interrupting it. She apologizes, and says that he's missed the mark. This was never her play. We're here for Heather. Shelly demands the Doctor to let go of Heather right now. Cain tells Dr. Geezer that he's a little bit out-numbered, and that maybe he should probably just fold. Sigmund is aware of the situation, and says he would ask us to question if our impulses and wild charades are truly the best thing for Heather. Anna says that it's better than lighting her up like a Christmas Tree, and tells him to let her go. Shelly politely asks the Doctor to let Heather go. Charlotte's Ninetales moves aside as Charlotte walks up to the Doctor and tells him to let Heather go, or she'll burn him. The Doctor lets out a scream, and Cain tells Charlotte that she doesn't have to burn the guy. However, that's the real reason she wanted her cigarettes, because she's had an urge to leave a scar like that for SO long. She tells us not to feel sorry for the Doctor either, because he's left worse scars on both of her sisters and her. Sigmund declares this to stop. He says that he cares little for this power struggle, and gives us Heather. Shelly asks Heather if she's okay, but Sigmund says that we should know that he already contacted the authorities about this little incident, and that we will all shortly be arrested. Cain says that now might be the time to escape, since we have Heather. Anna calls me a Slowking, and says that everyone's going to meet up under Opal Bridge, where the train tracks turn off into the Underground. I head under the Opal Bridge through the Peridot Ward, and find Anna, who tells me to hurry into the Underground Railnet. I find Charlotte and the others waiting for me there. Charlotte says that we need a plan. She says that since the police are going to be looking for us, they probably know that we're going to try and escape the city, so the exits will be sealed. However, this tunnel happens to run underneath the city, and comes out right in the Chrysolia Region. It just so happens that Charlotte's sisters have a house right there, so we can lay low there until things cool down. Since of course this means smashing through here, Charlotte's going to leave the rock smashing to me and my Phanpy. I talk to everyone, and I find that Heather isn't talking. I smash the rocks, and then we go onward. Meanwhile... Dr. Sigmund is AWARE that we are hiding under the Railnet. He says that he knows Charlotte better than she knows herself. And then... He shows up in the Doctor's presence... He claims that he is a huge fan of Sigmund's work on ECT., and he found it useful in his... operations. He understands that the Doctor has lost something, and believes that they can be of some benefit to each other... Team Meteor... Dr. Sigmund... Could this all relate to Corey...? I come across a fork in the road, and it seems that I have to choose the left path, because I would have to use Strength to move on if I choose to take the right path. I find the others, and it seems that Cain has a fan of his own, Anna! I talk to Charlotte, who's trying to turn on a computer. Cain asks what it does, and Shelly explains that the gate leads to the basement of the old Yureyu Building. According to Shelly, Yureyu used to use the Railnet to import resources via the rail... So they had it run right through their HQ... Yureyu used to be the economic center of Reborn, until the earthquakes happened and Yureyu was destroyed. Not only that, but Yureyu ran the city's electricity... so that went down too... Eventually, the entire city shut down until Ame restored it... Noel says that it won't open because it's still hooked up to the old power plant. Anna says that's where Mr. Shadow lives, and says that if someone went up there and asked him to turn on the power, he would. Shelly asks if Anna's talking about Shade, and wonders if Shade is even a human. Anna doesn't know that, but she knows that he's super nice. Noel asks her how is he nice if he never speaks. Anna says that Shade is also a Reborn League Gym Leader, and suggests that I go up there and ask Shade to turn it back on, and then fight him. Anna tells me that she'll have Nostra tell Shade to unlock the door, and tells me to head up there quickly. Well, I guess it's time to get another badge... I need it! Current Pokemon Stats HOLY CRAP Charles is buffed up. If Charles doesn't disobey, maybe I might win against Shade. First, before I battle Shade, I might train Carvanha, as well as a new member of the team once I catch him soon. Also, if anybody is wondering about Phanpy, I've had him on the team for a while. He's just the Pickup Boy, nothing special. 14. It seems that I AM inspired by this game, aren't I? I should really be thanking Ame for all of this. Because of her and her glorious designs, she made what I call: The Best Fanmade Pokemon Game EVER. Speaking of stories... I should REALLY get back to making some more chapters for Pokemon Black 2 soon. After all, Pokemon X and Y are creeping up real close. I'm glad that you guys all like my story too! Hope you guys stay tuned for what's yet to come!
  15. Chapter XXI: Cain, Heather, And The Mysterious Dr. Sigmund Connal! I head to the Jasper Ward, only to find that the officer who WOULD have gotten the Growlithe is upset that he doesn't have his Growlithe. Another fellow officer is trying to cheer him up by asking me to trade him a Growlithe so he can give that Growlithe to the poor fellow. I'm going to take matters into my own hands and get his Growlithe back from that Meteor grunt! Well, I talk to the grunt, and it seems the only thing I can do is wait until I can find a Ditto to breed with Growlithe when I evolve it into an Arcanine. I then head on too the Beryl Ward. I head through the Beryl Bridge, and to the Abandoned Power Plant, but I can't get in, no matter what I do. I find a little boy and a Drifloon, but I'll come back for them later. Now, it's time to head to the Beryl Cemetery. I head to the Beryl Cemetery, where I find Cain at a grave, which has just been added. It seems that this new grave is Corey's. Cain didn't expect to see me here, He came up here when he heard about what happened to the old Poison Leader... There's nothing anyone can do for him, but Cain says that he heard he left behind a daughter too. Rather, that she ran away... Cain wants to find her because he wants to take care of her, because it's a big thing, not having anyone to take care of you when you're young... He asks me why I'm here, and it's because I want the key to the Byxbysion Wasteland. However, he mistakes me for asking him out! Well, he's joking at least... He says that he's not really a fan of his sister, because well, she's all "grr." He then strikes a deal with me. If I beat him, he'll give me the key. Sounds like a plan to me! Cain still keeps his Pretty Boy reputation, as he is the fruitiest guy we all know and love. Cain sends out Dewott, while I send out Carvanha, and then switch into Hydra. While I keep using Bite, Cain has Dewott using moves that can barely even hit Hydra. Just when I have Dewott at his last life, Cain heals Dewott with a few Hyper Potions. So, I keep using Bite, and eventually knock out Dewott. Cain sends out Nidoking, which I'm surprised about because I thought he would save Nidoking for last. I switch Hydra out for Carvanha, and switch back into Hydra. While Nidoking uses Thrash on Hydra, I knock him out with Hydra's Aqua Tail. Cain sends out Venomoth, while I send out Carvanha and switch out Carvanha for Gardvoir. Gardevoir uses Calm Mind, and then knocks out Venomoth with Psychic. Cain sends out Grimer, who I just decide to end with Psychic. This battle was too easy! Cain's disappointed he lost, because he doesn't really like giving away Byxbision Wasteland keys. However, a deal's a deal. He notices a girl behind me on top of a cave, and I notice, and find that it's Heather! Cain knows it's Heather too, and Heather wonders how he knows her name, and accuses him of doing anything to her parents. Cain apologizes, and introduces himself to her. He says that he is looking for her because he was worried about her. Heather says he can forget about worrying, because she says she is FINE, and she can be JUST FINE ALL BY HERSELF. Cain tells her to calm down, and he says that he only wanted to be friends with her. However, Heather cuts him off, and tells him to shut up. She says that she didn't ask for anything from him, and she says that she doesn't need anything... However, Cain says that she needs a friend. Heather calls him annoying, and says that she already has a friend. Cain asks who's her friend, and all she says is that her friend is a Gym Leader, and at least she doesn't ask so many stupid questions. Cain tries to calm her down, and says that her friend is probably worried, so Heather should probably go to her. Heather conforms to his request, and says only if it will get her away from him. She then takes flight on Salamence to the Lapis Ward. Cain then starts to sing about her being lonely. He says that he's going to go down to the Lapis Ward, and asks me if the Gym Leader is Shelly, which is indeed correct. He apparently doesn't give me the key, because now he's off chasing after her before she flies somewhere else! I might as well go there too, but first, time to find whatever is in that cave! I stumble upon the cave, and I find a long path, finding rocks to smash, and I find a ladder. I head down the ladder, only to find a room with two cages and a gate. I don't know where the gate leads to, but I head forward on my quest. I climb down the ladder, and head out of the cave. I find myself in the Rhodochrine Jungle, but in a different place. I find myself at the hive of the Nuzleafs, with Shiftry as their leader. I head forward, and they all spot me. Shiftry jumps from his (err, hers, I should say) throne, and lands right in front of me, so now I have to fight a Pokemon Gang again. Well, more like Pokemon Tribe. I send out Charles and Wing Attack every single Nuzleaf, well also burned some because Charles disobeyed. When Shiftry comes out, I'm like "WHOA, that's one strong Shiftry." All of the Nuzleaf were between 20 and 35, but THIS? This Shiftry is level 55! Despite her intimidating level, Charles burned Shiftry to a crisp. After the battle, Shiftry leaves with a few of her followers, leaving only five of them behind. These five Nuzleaf however, seem submissive to me. In fact, I can take ALL FIVE of the Nuzleaf! I wish you could throw more than 2 Pokemon in the Pokemon Daycare Center... Oh well! Time to head back to the Abandoned Power Plant to catch that Drifloon! I head to the Abandoned Power plant, and battle Drifloon. After I catch Drifloon, I talk the little boy, who assumes that it's safe to leave and go home. He lives in the Lapis Ward, and thinks it's safe to go home. PLEASE don't do what Corey did, little boy! He says I'm cool, and that I should visit sometime. Well that sometime is now, because I have to follow Cain and find Heather! He thanks me, and goes home. I head to the Jasper Ward, heal my Pokemon, and find the Emolga that was flying around before, but now it's sleeping! Perfect time to catch Emolga! But just when I thought I could easily catch the sleeping squirrel, Emolga just wakes up, and attacks. Oh well, it's not like it has any offensive power against a GYARADOS! I weaken Emolga and catch it easily. I have no other need to stay here, so I follow the boy back to the Lapis Ward to find Cain and Heather. I wander around the Lapis Ward after I arrive, and find the little boy's mother in a house, worried about her son. I relieve her by telling her that I found her son hanging around with a Drifloon. After I caught the Drifloon, the boy returned safely to the Lapis Ward. However, since he's not here, I have to go look for him. I'm going to go retrace my steps! On my way back to the Jasper Ward, I find a Mime Jr. on the Opal Bridge. I talk to it, but it vanishes from me and goes behind me. I walk close to it again, but it runs away from me again! I walk to the other side of the bridge, and find Mime Jr. again, but it runs away AGAIN! As I get off of the Opal Bridge, I find Mime Jr. Again. And it runs away from me. Again. I find it on the bridge again, and it runs away again. THIS time, I go around the other side, and sneak up behind Mime Jr. However, I surprise the Mime Jr., and it attacks me. I catch the little mime, and I head to the Jasper Ward quickly. I get to the Jasper Ward, and find that a Venipede Gang lead by Scolipede is attacking the little boy in a corner! The little boy cries out for help, and I'm just in time too. Scolipede turns around, and attacks me instead! Time to save a little boy, and lay waste to these worms! Well, more like Pokemon Swarm. This place is SWARMING with Venipedes! I lay waste to the Venipedes by sending out Charles and knocking them out with Wing Attack. After dealing with them, Scolipede comes out to play. Unfortunately for me, Charles got poisoned from Venipede's Poison Point. Not only that, but Charles gets knocked out from a vicious Venoshock attack. I send out Gardevoir, and use Psychic to finish off Scolipede. That battle didn't last long, because there were only three of them! The Venipede Swarm retreat, and the little boy is speechless. He then fan-boys about how awesome I am for saving him, and says that I took them on all by myself, and just keeps thanking me. Apparently, he was on his way home, and those things cornered him. However, he's sure he can make it home now, but I'm not too sure of that... He then thanks me again, and leaves. NOW I can go back to the Lapis Ward! I head back to the Lapis Ward, and head into the little boy's house. What do I find? The little boy. Safe and Sound. GREAT! His mother thanks me so much for saving her baby. She says it's not much, but she gives me a Department Store Sticker. THAT IS WORTH SOMETHING!!! Apparently, the little boy now looks up to me as a role model. Anyways, with that side quest done, I leave. I head to the Lapis Ward Gym and up Shelly's Room, and I find Cain, Heather, and Shelly. Heather yells at Cain some more, and wonders why he is following her. Cain tells her that it's not good to be alone right now, and Shelly agrees with him, saying that she's worried about Heather. Heather just tells Shelly to shut up, and asks her what kind of friend she is. Shelly tries to apologize, but Cain explains to Heather that she is hurt and confused, scared, and he gets it. He assures her it's okay, and says that he's been there too, but Heather tells him to just shut up, and says that he doesn't know her. Heather tries getting rid of Cain by showing him that Shelly is her friend. She asks Shelly if she's her friend, and Shelly says that Heather is her ONLY friend. Heather says that's good enough for Cain, and tries to get rid of him. She even tells Shelly to make BOTH me and Cain go away. Shelly apologizes, and tries to kick me out. Cain tells Heather that most friends don't boss each other around like that, but Heather tells him to not tell her what to do, even though he's not. All he's saying is that Shelly seems to be scared when Heather is yelling at her. He asks Shelly if she wants Heather to be nicer to her, and she agrees. Heather gets in a rage at Shelly, and stops being Shelly's friend. She accuses us of all ganging up on her, and she tries to leave, warning us not to stop her. Meanwhile Cain is a bit annoyed, but shakes it off. He tells me and Shelly to quickly chase after her and stop her, because she's only going to keep hurting herself like this. Shelly follows Cain out, and so will I! I head out to find them, but I see them encountered by Dr. Sigmund and his orderlies. Heather yells at Sigmund to get out of her way, but he scolds her for speaking to him in a rude manner. Heather just tells him to shut up and move. Sigmund asks her if her parents taught her any manners, but Cain steps in and tells him to lay off of Heather. Sigmund then takes Cain's sass, and says that he is a Doctor, not a 'geezer.' He worked many hours for that title, and in turn, he expects to be addressed appropriately. However, Cain respects his wish by calling him Dr. Geezer. Saying this causes Heather to laugh, something that Cain unexpectedly caused her to do. However, Heather tries defending her ego, and denies herself laughing, and says she had something stuck in her throat. Cain asks her if she had a giggle stuck in her throat, but before she can say anything, Sigmund breaks up their giddy humor by asking Heather where are her parents. Heather tells him to shut up about that, and Shelly tells Sigmund that Heather's parents aren't... here anymore... Sigmund finds this the opportunity to take Heather into his orphanage, but first he asks her who her caregiver is. Heather yells at him, and says that she doesn't need anyone, and that means Cain. Sigmund then says that he has a solution. He himself runs a service for the children of Reborn. He gives homes to those who have none. Food, Shelter- even many friends, just like us. He asks Heather if this sounds nice, but Heather says that she doesn't want anything from him. Sigmund says that she doesn't need to be rude, for he is offering her a home. He is offering her everything she needs to get her life back on track. He asks her, "Why do you resist?" Heather resists because Sigmund is a creep, and that no girl would ever want to be around him. Sigmund replies that it is she who does not have a choice. According to Sigmund, under Article 4, Section 9, Clause 3, Sigmund and his orderlies are responsible for the actions of all orphaned children in the city of Reborn, wherein the status of an orphan is defined as one who has no living parents nor legal guardians willing and capable of providing subject. Also according to Dr. Sigmund, under Article 7, Section 2, Clause 2, Sigmund and his orderlies are granted authority to adopt into custody any discovered orphan within the city limits, provided he or she cannot produce legal documentation of guardianship in or outside of the municipal district. He has no choice, but he tells his orderlies to seize her. However, Cain sasses Sigmund and tells him to back off. Heather demands the orderlies to let go of her, but Sigmund orders them to take her, and threatens us not to interfere. According to Sigmund, physical interruption to this procedure qualifies as both personal assault as well as severe delinquency detrimental to standard city functions, and can and will result in a lawsuit against our names, followed by a criminal record. After taking away Heather, he tells us to have a good day. Cain wonders what's Sigmund's deal, and Shelly realized that she was the one who got Heather kidnapped. Shelly then runs back to her Gym, with Cain chasing after her. I chase after them, and find them back in Shelly's Room. When I find them, Shelly is slamming her head in self pity for opening up her mouth to Sigmund about Heather's parents. Cain tells her not to blame herself for what the creep does, because he's his own demon. Cain says it was his own fault too, because he chased her out of here. However, he wants to help too. Shelly is afraid that Heather is going to be mad, and says that she is a bad friend to Heather. However, Cain reassures her, and says that she was there for her, and that's what friends do. He then sings a little tune, and cheers up Shelly, and confuses her at the same time. He says that we have to take a stand to Sigmund. We have to infiltrate the orphanage, and bust Heather out. Shelly asks, "Won't we be in trouble?" Cain admits she's right, but Heather's already in trouble, so we have to take that chance. Meanwhile... Heather is taken to a room where she is held down by Dr. Sigmund's orderlies, due to her behavior. He then tells his orderlies to begin treatment at 100 volts. Heather yells at Sigmund and says that he'll never get away with this. Sigmund changes his mind, and makes that 110 volts, and to bind her as well. He tells Heather to hold still... for she might feel a little shock... They proceed to shock her, as Heather is screaming in pain... Cain asks us if we heard anything, and all I heard was Heather screaming. It seems Shelly and Cain heard it too. Cain then says that we should hurry, and says that he'll meet us in front of the orphanage. Shelly follows Cain out, and so I guess I will too. We're going to bust out Heather... Tonight. Current Pokemon Stats Well, Charles certainly went over the limit. There were quite a few Pokemon Swarms in this chapter too. Plus, there were plenty of Pokemon to catch! Next chapter, I'm going to finally see what the Doctor's been hiding in that little shack of a building he has. Oh, and Carvanha leveled up too. 16. Chapter XX: Swag Jockey Fern Would Like To Battle! When I first go into the Grand Hall, I heal my Pokemon. And then I talk to the new people there, and watch TV for a bit. When I get to the desk to find Ame, I also find Fern, who's a big jerk as usual. Fern just came here to tell Ame about 'my little accident with the Beryl Gym Leader'. For all I know, Ame probably thinks I murdered Corey! I would never do that to somebody, ESPECIALLY to a man like Corey! However, Ame says the opposite. Instead of thinking I killed him, she was worried about Corey for this exact reason. Fern rushes Ame and says to tell Aya to be ready when he gets there. I guess Aya is the Poison Reserve Leader. Ame calls Aya, and Ame just COMPLETELY IGNORES ME. THANKS, FERN! Fern says that I look more confused than usual. He explains that every Reborn Gym needs a back-up Leader. He even tells me that HE'S the Grass-Reserve Leader who will replace Florina, should anything happen to her. Since Corey 'retired', Aya will take his place. According to Fern, Aya is some chick who lives in the Wasteland south Reborn City. Unfortunately for me, I need a key to get to the Wasteland. Sadly for me, FERN has a key. Fern already has three badges, and is about to have a fourth one. He then just completely talks trash about Shelly! He then starts to leave, and tells me good luck on finding the key to the wasteland. Just as he's about to leave, I ask him how he got a key, and all he says is that if I want the information, I'm going to have to beat him for it. This is what you get for talking crap about Shelly! Hotsh-- SWAG JOCKEY?!?! His Title changed from Hotshot to SWAG JOCKEY?!?! NO WONDER WHY HE IS A LOSER!!! Anyways, Swag Jockey Fern sends out Ferroseed, while I send out Carvanha. I switch out Carvanha for Charles, while Ferroseed weakly attacks with Pin Missile. Charles then proceeds to burn the heck out of his Ferroseed with Flame Burst, and knock it out. Fern sends out Ludiculo, while I send out Carvanha, and then send out Persian, while Ludiculo uses Water Gun on Persian. He must have thought I would send out Charles. NOPE! Persian uses Fake Out, which luckily gives Ludiculo a critical hit. I then Cut Ludiculo up, and knock out Ludiculo. Fern sends out Roserade, and I send out Carvanha, so I can switch into Charles, while Roserade attacks with Hidden Power. Charles attacks with Flame Burst, but it doesn't burn Roserade just yet. Fern heals Roserade with a HYPER Potion instead of using a cheap Super Potion. Lucky for me, the next Flame Burst ends up being a critical hit, and burns away Roserade. Fern sends out Servine, which I'm surprised he didn't just evolve it. I switch out to Carvanha, and then to Persian so I can be faster than Servine. Persian finishes off Servine with a couple of Cuts. It seems all Fern had was only one Hyper Potion, nothing else. The battle ends, and I brutally defeat Fern, who then calls me a noob. Fern rants and says that I was cheap. He tells me all he knows about the key to the Wasteland. He says that the new Poison Gym Leader's a girl out in the wasteland, sure. However, it seems that Fern got the key from her brother! I seem to recall knowing who her brother is, but at the moment, I don't remember. Fern says that he's a real fruity looking guy. Decked out in purple, fishnets, looks more like a girl. Fern says that he's freaky, cause this guy wouldn't stop singing. Sounds like another guy I know. Aha! I remember now! Cain! Those two DO look similar, or so I'm told. Fern tells me that Cain is going up to the Beryl Cemetery for something. He says that if I want the key, I'm going to have to ask Cain for it. Fern then leaves, as he heads to the Byxbision Wasteland. To the Beryl Cemetery! Current Pokemon Stats Nothing much happened. Carvanha learned a new move, and leveled up. 17. Chapter XIX: Unfinished Business On The Way To The Grand Hall! On my way out of the Lapis Ward, I notice a few men on the Grand Stairway in the North Obsidia Ward, as well as a large crowd surrounding them, just like the crowd that was surrounding the Grand Stairway when it was blown up. Apparently, these men work for Silph Co, and they are selling a new product: The Link Stone! They advertise it really well, too. Here, I'll even show the advertising: Are you tired of having to find potentially untrustworthy Trainers to trade your Pokemon with to evolve them? Are you as heartbroken as your Pokemon is when it has to be traded away from you just to grow? Your worries are over! The remarkable scientists of Silph Co have produced this marvelous new stone, infused with the very energy emitted in a real trade that can force a Pokemon to evolve while never leaving your care! This Link Stone will be hitting stores soon, but you all are a lucky bunch. Right here, right now, you can get a prototype edition fully-functional Link Stone for just $10,000! Be the first to try it! They aren't kidding when they say it costs $10,000. Soon when I get more Pokemon, I'll decide who to evolve with this new stone. Hopefully, it will work like they say it does. I head back down beneath the Grand Stairway, and then head left, because I can now use Rock Smash. I climb down the ladder, and stumble upon a Solrock. I climb back up, head right, and head up. I use rock smash, and find a tunnel with a man who smashes a rock. He tells me that underneath these shiny rocks are a rare items! He says that all I need is a pickaxe and shovel, and gives me a Mining Kit! He says that if you're not careful, the rock could collapse! As I explore the tunnel and dig up some items, I find a gate. I don't know where it leads, but I do know that I can't go past it. I dig up the last shiny rock, and leave the tunnel. When I get down to the slides, I slide down to the far right, and find a few rocks to smash. I find a few good items, and I then head back up. I slide down the left this time, and there was only a rock, so I head back up. I look everywhere for Lunatone, but alas, Lunatone isn't there. I head back to the surface, and since Charles is fully evolved into a Charizard, it's time to take on the Magma Gang's Leader, Maxwell! However, before I do that, I train my Pokemon up to level 40. After training Underneath the Stairway, I head back to the Magma Gang Hideout, and confront Maxwell. You're going down, Maxwell! Maxwell sends out Vulpix while I send out Persian. Persian uses Fake Out to flinch Vulpix, and then uses Cut to knock out Vulpix. Maxwell sends out Charmeleon, while I keep having Persian use Cut on Charmeleon. Just when I get close to knocking out Charmeleon, Maxie decides to heal Charmeleon with a few Super Potions. Eventually, he runs out of Super Potions, and I knock out Charmeleon with Cut. Maxie then tries to get his crap together and he sends out Houndoom. I use Cut one more time, and then Houndoom knocks out Persian with Thunder Fang. I send out Hydra, and lower Houndoom's Attack stat. Houndoom uses Thunder Fang, but it doesn't knock Hydra out. I use Aqua Tail, which nearly knocks out Houndoom, but then stupid Maxie decides to use Fire Fang. Really? Against a giant BEAST? NOPE! I finish off Houndoom with Aqua Tail, and defeat the Magma Gang! Maxwell, or shall we say, Maxie, gets disappointed that he lost, and tells the rest of the Magma Gang to retreat for now. Arc declares that the mission was successful, and says that we'll be heading back to the Aqua Hideout now, hopefully unbothered by the Magma Gang. I head back to the Aqua Hideout after healing my Pokemon, and I get congratulated by the Aqua Gang, and get my mission debriefing. Mission Debriefing: Trevo, you performed exceedingly. I think it's time to present you with something... You're one of us now. You've earned this. It's kind of the Aqua Gang's mascot. Take care of it, okay? We'll see you around. With the Magma Gang out of the way, perhaps we can finally get back to normal... What Arc gave me was a Carvanha, as a token of my loyalty to the Aqua Gang. I thank him for the Carvanha, and for allowing me to join the Aqua Gang, and I leave to train my new friend on the way to the Grand Hall. Since there is nothing else to do here, I think it's time to head to the Grand Hall NOW. Current Pokemon Stats Well, most of the team is level 40, and I started doing Rotation for my team! This means that Every Pokemon I list, I will use most often. Charizard Name: Charles Level: 40 Moves: Wing Attack, Dragon Rage, Flame Burst, SmokeScreen Persian Name: Persian Level: 40 Moves: Taunt, Cut, Bite, Fake Out Gyarados Name: Hydra Level: 40 Moves: Ice Fang, Aqua Tail, Bite, Dragon Rage Gardevoir Name: Gardevoir Level: 40 Moves: Magical Leaf, Confusion, Calm Mind, Teleport Carvanha Name:Carvanha Level: 20 Moves: Focus Energy, Scary Face, Ice Fang, Screech Kadabra Name: Henry Level: 31 Moves: Teleport, Disable, Psybeam, Charge Beam Porygon Name: Porygon Level: 22 Moves: Conversion 2, Tackle, Conversion, Sharpen
  18. Lol, why it isn't quite rude at all! And I agree too, school is creeping up on us like the boogeyman creeping up on little kids. When school does show its ugly face, I'll work on the story whenever I can. As for your adventures, however, I wish you good luck on the rest of your adventures as well, my friend! I thank you for enjoying my story, and I hope you enjoy the rest that has yet to come! Sincerely, Trevo
  19. Yeah, I'm getting there. There's a lot of things that I still have to do, and there's no Flying yet! But yeah, I usually work on the story whenever I have the time. And judging from the amount of summer left, I think I could at least get quite a ways done. In other words, yeah. I'll still try to complete the epically terribly long story of Pokemon Reborn.
  20. Chapter XVIII: Shelly, The Lonely Bookworm! I head inside the Lapis Gym, and I find the gym guy, and he tells me that the gym is a garden and a library all in one. He tells me that the computers in here raise and lower the bookshelves so I can get to any book I want to read, or in my case, get to Shelly. Despite her youth, she's quite talented. Apparently, the Leader position runs in her family. Her older brother is a Gym Leader in the Johto Region! Shelly seems to care a lot for her older brother, because she even named her Volbeat after him! I learn that her Volbeat has the ability Prankster, which makes any Pokemon go first with moves that don't attack. Not only that, but Volbeat can also use Tail Glow to make its Special Attack increase drastically, making him unstoppable. However, I have Charles on my team, so I can get Volbeat down before he can even attack. He wishes me luck, as I go onward. First, I have to get to the computers, but I can't do that without battling some trainers. The first computer I head to is on the left, and so I beat the trainer guarding it. According to him, Shelly is the one who set up this elaborate puzzle. Each trainer I battle, I get more advice about the puzzle, and then, that's where it hit me. To solve the puzzle, I must turn on the computer at my right of the entrance. Then, I must go up the middle, and go to the computer with stairs and turn on another computer. Then, I must go down the right set of stairs, and turn on the computer at my left of the entrance. Then, I must go to the now high bookcase, an turn on the computer that's there. Then, I must shut off both of the computers at the entrance, and then turn on the computer that is now shown at the bottom of the right shelf, and then turn on the computer that is now shown at bottom of the far right shelf. Then, I go back to the entrance, turn both computers back on, and then I go up to Shelly's room, and turn the computer on from outside her room. Now all of the bookshelves are at their highest limit, and I can now get access to Shelly's Gym Room! I head into her gym room, and talk to Shelly. She asks me what I thought of her garden library, which was pretty simple. She admits she's kind of a bookworm, but in reality, she spends a lot of time reading so she can be good enough for her brother. She says that he's so cool, because he's a Gym Leader in Johto. She wanted to be just like him, so she came to Reborn to be a Gym Leader. but no matter what she did, it was never enough. He always just pretends that she doesn't exist... She says it's fine though, because she knows her place. She then apologizes for going off topic, and wishes me good luck. Shelly, one day, your brother will notice your potential, and when he does, he'll regret ignoring you. As a Bookworm, she uses Bug-types. She sends out Dwebble, while I send out Hydra. Hydra uses Aqua Tail on Dwebble, who survives thanks to Sturdy. Shelly gives Dwebble a few Super Potions, as I let her waste all of them from having Hydra use Aqua Tail on Dwebble. Eventually, Dwebble faints from another Aqua Tail, and then Shelly sends out Heather, who is a Yanmega. Finally, Gym Leaders who nickname their Pokemon! I knock out Heather with a few Ice Fangs, and give Hydra a Super Potion as Shelly sends out Scyther. She withdraws Scyther and sends out Wormadam. I knock down Wormadam with a few Ice Fangs, and Shelly sends out Scyther again. I finish off Scyther with another Ice Fang from Hydra, and now Shelly sends out Masquerain. I finish off Masquerain with a few Ice Fangs, despite being paralyzed from Masquerain's Stun Spore. Shelly then sends out her final Pokemon, Bugsy the Volbeat! I switch out Hydra for Charles this time, and use Flame Burst. However, Bugsy uses Confuse Ray on Charles, so now Charles is confused. While Bugsy uses the deadly Tail Glow, Charles finishes off Bugsy with another Flame Burst, and I win the battle swiftly! And now... The moment is here... Charles evolves into... A Big Black Charizard! Charles now wants to learn Wing attack, so I teach it over Scary Face. Shelly assumes that she'll never live up to her brother's expectations, and her brother is Bugsy! And he's the SECOND Gym Leader of the Johto Region! She is better than him! She says it's okay though, and gives me the Cocoon Badge. The Cocoon Badge allows Pokemon up to level 40 to listen to me at my every command. Not only that, but it also lets me use Rock Smash outside of battle. She also realizes she has one more thing to give me, and that's TM76 Struggle Bug. She explains that Struggle Bug is useful offensively and defensively. It can damage and lower an opponent's Special Attack. She says to call it as thanks for helping her get back up on her feet. I then leave, but then Shelly stops me. She apologizes that she forgot to mention something earlier. She says that actually, the Reborn League has a Reserve Leader for every type. That is, when a Gym Leader retires, the Reserve Leader takes their place... Of course, since Heather's dad Corey was a Gym Leader, that means that the Poison Reserve Leader is now the new Gym Leader... However, maybe they don't know that yet since Corey died. She tells me that I should go to the Grand Hall, and tell Ame what happened. That way, they can get it sorted out. She apologizes again, and wishes me good luck. It seems I am on another mission... Current Pokemon Stats Well, most of the team is level 36, and now Charles is a shiny black Charizard! Charizard Name: Charles Level: 36 Moves: Scary Face, Dragon Rage, Flame Burst, SmokeScreen Persian Name: Persian Level: 36 Moves: Taunt, Cut, Bite, Fake Out Gyarados Name: Hydra Level: 36 Moves: Ice Fang, Aqua Tail, Bite, Dragon Rage Gardevoir Name: Gardevoir Level: 36 Moves: Magical Leaf, Confusion, Calm Mind, Teleport Kadabra Name: Henry Level: 31 Moves: Teleport, Disable, Psybeam, Charge Beam Porygon Name: Porygon Level: 22 Moves: Conversion 2, Tackle, Conversion, Sharpen
  21. Chapter XVII: Dr. Sigmund Connal, And The Mysterious Orphanage! I head back to the Lapis Gym, and find Victoria in Shelly's room talking to Shelly. Victoria thanks me again for my help. I guess she got carried away. However, Shelly seems to be torn up about having seen the... death of her friend's father. Maybe Shelly needs help. Victoria says that there is a psychiatrist who has some notoriety... His name is Dr. Connal... Victoria asks me if I should see if he can see Shelly. After all, she doesn't want her to be scarred for life... Shelly already seemed so frail... I tell Shelly about the news, and she asks if she's sick. She is only worried about Heather... Now that's a true friend right there. I leave Shelly's house and head to Dr. Connal's Orphanage, even though I'd rather not want to. When I get there, the door just swings open. A girl with pink hair and green clothes comes out, and says that she has to get out of here... finally... Is this what that other girl meant? She then runs off. Apparently, the girl left the door unlocked, because I get in, but the moment I do, a little girl holding a Jirachi doll greets me at the door. She says I'm not Laura, and asks if I have seen her. Apparently, the girl with pink hair is Laura, and she just left. She asks me who I am, and why I'm all glowy. Someone tells her that nobody is glowing, and calls her Anna. She says he is mistaken, because I clearly am- nevermind. She then drags me around to introduce me to everybody. She introduces herself as Anna, and her Jirachi doll's name is Nostra. That kid who looks similar to her is Noel, and he has a Cleffa doll named Nomos. Noel tells me that Nostra and Nomos are just dolls, which is true. However, Anna clearly denies that fact. Anyways, then she introduces me to the fiery girl named Charlotte. According to Anna, she's her friend, and also according to her, Charlotte is really really pretty. You just have to see through the burn scars... Charlotte tells Anna for the last time that those aren't scars, and Noel says that she really doesn't. However, Anna just denies it in her head, and all she says is that Charlotte is pretty. Charlotte introduces herself, and says that Laura is her sister. Laura just happens to be one of Reborn's Elite Four. I guess awesomeness DOES run in Charlotte's family. Noel says that if she's going to mention that, she may as well tell how Anna- but then Anna cuts him off and says that Charlotte and Noel are also Gym Leaders. Anna says that she's going to miss Laura, but she's glad she's finally getting out. Noel says by that, she means that Laura turned 18 today, so she doesn't have to stay here anymore... Charlotte explains that this is an orphanage. They're all stuck here until 'the good Doctor' decides to let them out, or they become legal adults. So basically, forever. Noel says that the Doctor is scary... Anna says that it is true, because Sigmund has really strong Electric Type Pokemon, and he uses them in his 'therapy'... It really hurts... According to her, Nostra says that she thinks past patients have died. She thinks so too, because when you're around him, if you listen carefully, you can hear voices... However, Charlotte hasn't heard anything like that, so she doesn't know if it's real. Anna asks what I'm here for, and I tell them about Shelly's problem. However, Anna tells me to keep her AWAY from here! All of a sudden, Nostra says that the Doctor is coming! Sure enough, the doll was right. Dr. Connal showed up due to the noise. He introduces himself as Dr. Sigmund Connal, but I may refer to him as "Doctor." He asks what he can do to help me, and Anna tells him that I heard there was Gym Leaders here, and came by because of that! I seriously don't know what all the trouble with this guy is. Apparently, Dr. Sigmund takes the lie, and says that it's true, there are some particularly 'gifted' individuals among his adopted patients. He notices my confidence in my skill, and admires it. He tells an orderly to conduct a brief examination of me. He then tells him to begin the examination. It turns out that the examination is a battle. I beat the orderly easily, because all he had was Electric-Types and a Slowpoke. Dr. Sigmund is impressed with my battle. However, he's afraid he cannot permit a battle with them. This location is unsuited to challenges of such magnitude. However, he's afraid he also cannot allow them to leave. According to him, the individuals in question are highly volatile characters, and accordingly, they are not to be allowed outside of their facilities. It is regrettable, but it cannot be helped. I guess I'll have to wait. Anna chimes in saying that must mean I will have to be leaving now... She then tries to kick me out of the orphanage, but while she does, she tells me to trust her, because the Doctor isn't the doctor for Shelly... She then predicts that Nostra says she can feel Shelly's sorrow on me, too... She then says that something really bad must have happened. She tells me to tell Shelly to look out for the one who's really hurt by this... If she does that, she won't have time to be sad herself... Dr. Sigmund notices the whispering, and wonders what's going on. Anna denies everything, and kicks me out of the orphanage. I head back to the Lapis Gym, and back up to Shelly's room, and tell Victoria what happened. I then tell Shelly the message of what Anna said to me. Shelly then gets back up on her feet, and says that she needs to find Heather. However, Victoria tells her to stay here and rest. However, Shelly says she is perfectly fine. She thanks me, and goes to find Heather, but first, she remembered Victoria's Gym Battle request. Shelly completely forgot, and says that they can do it now. However, Victoria is fine without the battle. She'd rather wait until everything's sorted out. Although one person might want to battle her... Me! Shelly accepts my request, and tells me to come downstairs whenever I'm ready. She then leaves, while Victoria stays to talk to me. She says that Shelly is strong, getting through it like that. However, Victoria doesn't know... Right after I heal my Pokemon and try to enter the Gym part, Victoria stops me and asks me if I really have to fight Shelly. She's just recovering from a traumatic encounter... Victoria is worried that this is just going to stress her out more. Victoria is trying to stop me... With another Pokemon battle. She doesn't want either of me or Shelly to lose. Let's... Go... huh. I guess Victoria's Title changed to Apprentice. She sends out Scraggy while I send out Charles. I attack with Flame Burst, but Scraggy manages to get a pretty good Brick Break.. Unfortunately, Victoria gives Scraggy a Super Potion. I attack some more, and she gives Scraggy another few Super Potions. Eventually, I knock out Scraggy, and Victoria sends out Pignite. I switch out into Gardevoir, and use Calm Mind three times, then I attack with Confusion, and wipe out Pignite. She then sends out Hariyama, and Gardevoir uses Magical Leaf because she's disobeying me, but Magical Leaf surprisingly knocks out Hariyama, despite his defenses. That's not all of her Pokemon, as she sends out Kirlia, who I just knock out with Magical Leaf. I guess the battle ended quickly, because well, I won. No matter what she does, Victoria can't stop me. All she tells me is to please be gentle with her. Just wait till you see my CHARIZARD once Charles evolves! She tells me to win, otherwise it would be all for nothing, but still to please be gentle with her. She then leaves, which means it's time to challenge Shelly! Current Pokemon Stats Nothing much happened, except Charles is almost ready to evolve. 22. Chapter XVI: The Grand Stairway Conspiracy! After I train my team a little bit, I head over to the Reborn League Gym at the Lapis Ward. On the way, I hear an elderly couple talk about a man falling from the bridge, and when he went down... I don't want to know the rest, but I'll have to go to the gym and find out. I head over to the gym, and I find a swarm of people over there. Apparently, when Corey fell from the bridge, he went... splat. I go over to Victoria and Shelly, who Victoria tells politely to step away from the body. Shelly sees the dead Gym Leader, and cries. Victoria tells Shelly that it's going to be ok, and takes Shelly inside the gym. She asks if that dead body is Corey, and unfortunately for her, it is. While Shelly is still crying, and Victoria is comforting her, two Meteor grunts arrive on the rooftops. These two grunts are Aster and Eclipse! They report to their boss that Agent Beryl is confirmed deceased. Me and Victoria start to notice them, and Victoria asks if they are behind Corey's death. Aster gets mad and says that THEY are the victims here, and says that Corey was their- but Eclipse tells him to shut up. She pushes Aster aside, and threatens everyone to keep their noses out of Meteor's business. She tells Aster to make a move on and then they retreat. Then, Aster confirms her command, and says that they'll need them at the stairway. Victoria finds out that Team Meteor was responsible for blowing up the Grand Stairway. I knew it all along! Aster then gets sarcastic to Victoria, saying a Sunkern did it. Of COURSE it was them! Eclipse is annoyed at Aster, and remarks "Tell them everything, why don't you..." Aster takes this literally, and says that apparently underneath, there was this certain- but Eclipse stops him, and says that was sarcasm. She then demands him to move out. Victoria apologizes to Shelly that she had to see all this, and tells Shelly to come inside, but then she screams. A mysterious man is hovering over the gym, and only speaks in silence. Shelly says that it's only Shade, and asks him what he wants. Shade says nothing, and Victoria says that Shade is taking the body away. Shade and Shelly only take a moment of silence, and then Shade vanishes. Just like that, he's gone... After all that, Victoria takes Shelly inside the gym. I look at the wall with all of the blood from before, but I guess Shade cleaned up quite nicely. I look at my badges, and I STILL didn't get the third badge. I guess all I got was his blood... I head inside the gym, and apparently, Shelly isn't taking any challengers. However, she is up in her room, so I go and try talking to her. I talk to Victoria first, who says that she came to challenge Shelly, but she's really worried about her. As soon as they were ready to battle, they saw through the window a man falling off of Beryl Bridge... He landed right outside, and there was blood, and- Shelly is only 12... No one shouldn't have had to see that... Especially Shelly... Now Shelly is so distant... Something's going on. First, the stairway blows up, and now Team Meteor comes to look at a dead man? A dead man who worked for them, too! Victoria asks if the dead man was an agent of Team Meteor. She doesn't know, but she's going to find out. She could ask me, but I guess she wants to find out herself. Aster and Eclipse said that Team Meteor is doing something at the Grand Stairway, so Victoria is going to go there and see what's up. She asks me if I could perhaps come too. I'll be there when I'm ready. Besides, they're probably WAITING for me. Victoria tells Shelly that she's going to be gone for a little while, and asks if Shelly needs anything. Shelly says that there's nothing to get for her, and apologizes. Victoria asks why she's sorry, and it's because Shelly made Victoria worry. Victoria says it's okay, and to be honest, those two don't really know each other. Victoria will be back soon, and tells Shelly to take it easy, and leaves. I talk to Shelly, and she tells me that Heather was one of the only friends she ever had, and hopes she's okay. I hope Shelly will be okay... I guess I'll follow Victoria. Time to solve this case! I head over to the Grand Stairway, and find that the police force is gone. All I see in the hole is a ladder. I head down there, and find that Aster and Eclipse got Victoria in their grasp. Aster notices me, and Eclipse says that there will be no such thing as help. Well of course there is. Help is on the way!!! Eclipse says that we're trespassing on their operating territory, and so they're going to take us down to the big boss man. Game-Set-and Match. Eclipse tries to take Victoria, but Aster stops her and says that they should also try to take ME too, after what happened at the factory. Eclipse calls him stupid and says that then me and Victoria will try to team up on them. She then plans to lock Victoria up, and use her as bait in order to lure me in. She says it's a lose/lose for me, and to either let them get away with her, or fall into the trap myself. Check-mate. They then leave with Victoria, and I follow. I climb down the ladder, and find myself between a three-way fork in the road. I look for the right path on the left and right, but I need the HM Rock Smash to pass. I guess the only way is to go down. I find some wild Pokemon, but my biggest question of all: WHY is there a LEVEL ONE DUNSPARCE? Seriously, just WHY? I kill it with Hydra, and Hydra only gets two experience points. Seriously... Why... I make my way down, and I find an empty corridor, filled with many Unowns. What's pretty amazing is that these Unowns are easy to train from, as all they know is Hidden Power. Hell, I even found a level 38 Unown here! After I train my Pokemon, I head deeper in the tunnel, and find a strange man in front of a large gate. He asks me if I have ever had any idea such a place as this existed beneath the city. To be honest, I'm quite shocked such a place exists. He says that most do not... Most people are ignorant... Worse, oblivious. He asks if I know what is beyond that gate. He tells me it is the very core of the Reborn Region... A vast power, unrivaled by any other. He tells me this is a sacred place. He asks me one question in particular. How insolent must one be to build a city over such a precious site? "THAT is Reborn. The city of insolence." He tells me that it was ironically built on four key powers, which are also on the city symbols. He tells me to observe as he explains each of them respectively. Ruby, the seal of pain. Sapphire, the seal of love. Emerald, the seal of faith. And Amethyst, the seal of the beyond. "Each one of them is a key... When the four are brought together, Reborn's true power- it's sacred rite- will be restored! We will be rid of this malignant junkyard of a city... Beauty can be restored to the world..." The only thing I wonder is why he's telling me all of this. He says that it's better I should know... Everyone should know. He says I can go free, and so can my friend Victoria. She's just up ahead. He says to do what I will to the clowns who keep her here, and he tells me that before I leave this place, I should take this place with me. To share this place with the world, and remind them: "This world which they have undone will itself be their own undoing." Who... Who was that guy? I head on ahead, and sure enough, he's right. Aster and Eclipse have her locked in a cell. When I arrive to save Victoria, Aster is confused, and wonders if their boss let me go. Eclipse says she told him they shouldn't count on him to do our work. I guess that's why he wanted me to deal with Aster and Eclipse, cause they made him do their work. Aster then says that they're going to capture me anyways. Victoria says she has my back, but how can she fight, when she is locked in a cell? Oh well, I trust her well enough. Eclipse tells her to keep quiet, while Victoria back-sasses her. You go, girl! Let's do this fight! Aster sends out Lunatone, Eclipse sends out Solrock, Victoria sends out Pignite, and I send out Charles. I keep attacking Lunatone with Dragon Rage, while Victoria attacks Solrock with Take Down. Lunatone and Solrock can't even do much, all they can do to harm us is Rock Slide. Unfortunately, Rock Slide is what knocks out Charles. I send out Gardevoir and Calm Mind to build it up. Ironically, Solrock's Psywave isn't doing much to Pignite. However, Aster uses a Super Potion on Lunatone. Eclipse also gives Solrock a Super Potion as well. Just as Pignite is about to knock out Solrock, Astere's Lunatone knocks out Pignite. Victoria then sends out Scraggy, who might have a chance against two Rock/Psychic types. I weaken Lunatone, but Scraggy finishes Lunatone off with Payback. Aster then sends out Electabuzz. I then knock out Solrock with a Confusion from Gardevoir. Eclipse then sends out Magmar, who manages to somehow burn Scraggy when I wasn't looking. Gardevoir uses Confusion on Electabuzz, brutally knocking it out in two hits. Unfortunately, Magmar uses Confuse Ray on Gardevoir, so she might not attack for a while. Lucky for me, just before Gardevoir was about to faint from a barrage of attacks, Scraggy saved me with Hi Jump Kick, and knocked out Electabuzz. Gardevoir manages to snap out of confusion, and knocks out Magmar with Confusion, which saves me the trouble of losing terribly, and allows me to win the battle! Eclipse is annoyed so much, that she gives up on trying to fight. Aster then yells and says to go. Their boss said it was fine if we escaped anyways. Eclipse says that they'll be leaving now, but she says that just because we beat them, doesn't mean we won. They then make a clean getaway. Victoria thanks me for coming for her, and tells me not to worry. They didn't hurt her or anything, but all their boss did was talk to her. He told her about that gate up there... Just like how he told me about the gate too... She asks me if maybe it's better for them somehow if people know about this place, in which I think it's safe to, as long as they don't cause any harm. She then realizes that she's been down there for so long, she forgot about Shelly... She hopes Shelly's okay. She says she's going to go back to the Lapis Gym to check on Shelly. She thanks me again for saving her, and leaves. I have to thank Victoria too, because she healed my Pokemon after the battle. I explore around this cave a little bit,, and find that there's ANOTHER person down here. He says he's the doctor of the Underground world, and he gives me TM94, Rock Smash. FINALLY!!! I thank him for getting me that move, and try to use Rock Smash, but it turns out I have to beat Shelly before I can do any Rock Smashing. I leave and head back up to Reborn City. Just who is this guy...? Is that man at the gate... The true boss of Team Meteor? Current Pokemon Stats Well, the team leveled up quite a bit. Charles and Hydra learned quite a few new moves too. Charmeleon Name: Charles Level: 35 Moves: Scary Face, Dragon Rage, Flame Burst, SmokeScreen Persian Name: Persian Level: 35 Moves: Taunt, Cut, Bite, Fake Out Gyarados Name: Hydra Level: 35 Moves: Ice Fang, Aqua Tail, Bite, Dragon Rage Gardevoir Name: Gardevoir Level: 36 Moves: Magical Leaf, Confusion, Calm Mind, Teleport Kadabra Name: Henry Level: 31 Moves: Teleport, Disable, Psybeam, Charge Beam Porygon Name: Porygon Level: 22 Moves: Conversion 2, Tackle, Conversion, Sharpen
  23. Chapter XV: The Magma/Aqua Gang Heist! When I get to the Lapis Ward, I find a young lady that battles me. After I defeat her, she says she ran from the falling man, and ran straight for a bomb. Lucky for her, she wasn't hurt. Falling man... She must mean Corey! I head down to see if there's anything for me to find, but I stumble upon Reborn City's Bicycle Shop. Finally, just when I was tired of walking around all the time! I walk up to the cashier and request to buy a bike, but they're selling the bicycles for one-hundred-million in Pokemoney! That's even more than what it is in Pokemon Yellow! Since I can't come up with that much money, I leave. I find an old lady's house, but she kicks me out as soon as I enter it! I guess I'll go somewhere else. I find two guys chatting, and a young man thinking. I then find a young girl who's standing in front of an orphanage. Dr. Connal's Orphanage, to be exact. She's mumbling things about her sister's birthday, and she can finally escape. She says for her to be strong. She then vows that vengeance will soon be theirs. She then notices me and gets out of my way. You can finally escape... Soon, vengeance will be ours... What does this all mean...? I try entering the orphanage, but it's strangely locked. I then talk to a little boy that is hanging around this ominous building, and he says that his daddy always says to stay away from this building. The little boy also tells me that sometimes, he can hear people screaming from inside... Just what is this sick place? I then head inside this dark alley near the orphanage. It is the territory of the Aqua Gang. Now that they mention it, I DID stumble upon the Magma Gang alley in North Obsidia. I didn't join the Magma Gang though, but since the two Aqua guards are asking if I want to join their family, I might as well. Plus, I could be paid handsomely. However, just as I think I'm about to pass, the two guards challenge me to a battle. I send out Persian and Charles, and beat their Remoraid and Clampearl easily. They then send out Totodile and Dewott. Those two were a bit difficult, but I still get them down. Then, their last Pokemon are two Carvanhas. The two Carvanhas end up being difficult to beat too, but I still get them down with Gardevoir and Hydra. Then, the two guards officially welcome me to the Aqua Gang. The two guys seemed amazed with my work, and say that the Aqua Gang will thrive with me around. They tell me to meet the boss, but I will after I heal my team. I heal my team, then I introduce myself to the boss of the Aqua Gang, Arc. Arc is thrilled to have me in the Aqua Gang, and introduces me to the crew. First, there's Mannie and Razzy, the two guys I battled to get in. On the left, there's DeFacto and Pierce, who doesn't talk much. Arc then tells me the whole operation. Operation Briefing: This city is messed up, you already know that. So what our little family does is... ...Well, we just try to get an extra edge in our lives. Some people have a little more than what they need around here... We work on that problem. Some time ago, we were the saviors of this city... .. but everything changed when the Magma Gang attacked. They moved in around here, and now they're pilfering our targets and depriving us of our rep. ...But if we got you, then then they're going to be outnumbered. It's time to kick some Magma butt. So here's the scoop. We've got a gig. Come night fall, a few of us are gonna be meeting in an old shack in the middle of the ward. If you want in, we'd love to have you. We're gonna need all the help we can get. Look forward to seeing you after sundown, soldier. Meanwhile, after the meeting, I find a few level 25 Pokemon in the Aqua Hideout, and catch them. I then head for the old shack, because it is night fall. I head over to the guy who had a Zigzagoon, but when I battled him, he didn't have a Zigzagoon. Weird. Anyways, I go past him, and try to find the shack. I find a house, and it turns out that Arc and the others are there. Arc welcomes me, and DeFacto tells me that Mannie and Razzy have been appropriated to guardianship of the headquarters this evening, meaning it's just the four of us. Now, let the meeting begin. Situation Briefing: Magma Gang's got their eye on a certain rare Pokemon owned by one of Lapis' wealthiest residents. Knowing them, they'll probably try to frame us when they steal it, so we'll have to bust in there, and stop that from happening. If it comes down to it, we'll take the Pokemon for ourselves. The upper class can easily just import a new one from Kanto or Sinnoh. The aforementioned target is identified as Ms. Elena Craudburry, otherwise known as 'Spinster', and 'hag'. To DeFacto, she's known as 'putrid witch who called the city police on me just because I looked at her for more than a millisecond while passing by on the street'. Wretched old lady, if you know her. ...Actually, she's wretched even if you don't know her, but you've got the better end of that bargain. Anyway, our reputation and our safety are at stake here! Let's move out, and put an end to Magma's schemes! Meet us there, Trevo. We'll be watching. With that said, they vanish, and the heist begins. I arrive at old Craudburry's house, and sure enough, my fellow comrades are already there. Pierce has Craudburry as a hostage, so I can pass. I enter the room, and it's not what I think. The Magma Gang already beat us to it, and now I have to battle my way to the center. I beat the Magma goon at the entrance, but when I get to the center, it's an all-out war. Arc and DeFacto hold off a grunt and the leader, and so I battle one more Magma goon, who is just too easy. I then go to the table, and take a Water Stone, and Ms. Craudburry's Pokemon. POKEMON LIBERATION!!! Ms. Craudburry's Pokemon was a Ponyta, and so now, I'm going to go drop off Ponyta in the PC. Apparently, the Magma Gang's Leader is named Maxwell. I was thinking it would be Max. He's shocked that the Aqua Gang has a new member. The city police force is going to be there shortly, so we have to evacuate swiftly. Arc tells me that they'll meet me at the base, and tells me I did an excellent job. I drop off a Pokemon in the PC, and head back to the Aqua Hideout. Everyone congratulates me on the successful heist, and Arc says the mission debriefing. Mission Debriefing: You acted valiantly, Trevo. Your presence was crucial in our victory. If you'd like, keep the Pokemon we've acquired. It's a Fire type anyway, isn't it? That's hardly much use to us. Consider it your payoff. Magma Gang is going to be hurting after a resounding loss like that. We're going to take some time and think of our next move... I do hope you'll check in soon. I guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow to find out my next mission. A few days later... I decide to head back to old Craudburry's house, and I unexpectedly run into a police officer investigating the crime scene. The old hag then spots me, and reports that I am the criminal who stole her Pokemon. What she calls 'Stealing', I call Liberation. The officer questions the old hag, as he and the whole city police force know that I am a hero, and would never steal Pokemon. Why, I even rescued him when he was locked in a cage in the Rhodochrine Jungle! Not only that, but I also rescued the rest of the police force, too! Craudburry exclaims that she knows what she saw. The officer says that there is no way to incriminate me just because I happened to walk in the door while she was raving about it. She then yells at the police officer for thinking she is a liar, and insults him by calling him a ungrateful wretched bum. She demands to speak with his superior, but then changes her mind and plans to write a letter, and threatens that he'll be fired and will be forced to starve to death. She then stops acting snooty and just starts RAGING. Like seriously. U mad, hag? She shouts that the authorities are crooks, scum, bile, and snakes. The officer's just sitting there thinking, "no wonder the others insisted on drawing sticks to see who had this case." She then rages some more, saying that the city is GARBAGE, and just throws a huge fit like a spoiled little girl, while the officer is just thinking, "Shut the hell up." After that long episode of drama, I leave, avoiding more crap with the snooty little hag. As I head outside, the officer comes out and apologizes for the old witch's rude behavior. He then tells me that she is nuts, and tells me not to worry, cause I'm not really a suspect. He then tells me that he still has to properly thank me for saving him before. He gives me something amazing, a Bike Voucher! He tells me that his brother works at that bicycle shop that sold bikes for a fortune. He gave it to the officer as a present for his little girl. Unfortunately... she didn't survive that whole mess in Beryl... She was reading in her room, and then the plants broke through the wall... She was... ... Before he says anything else, he stops. He then tells me to please get the Bike Voucher away from him. He apologizes, then leaves. Officer, I will avenge your daughter... No matter what happens... I head down to the bicycle shop, and the owner is shocked that I have a Bike Voucher. He asks me where I got it, and I told him the story of what happened. He's a bit saddened, as I give him the Bike Voucher, and get a Bicycle. After telling him the depressing story, I leave. After a long wait for the next mission from Arc, I come up with a scheme of my own. I'm going to go infiltrate the Magma Hideout, and take down every last member of the Magma Gang, and that includes their boss, Maxwell. I ride my bike to the Magma Hideout, and then I battle the guards. All they use is Fire types, so it's really easy to beat them. All I do is use Cut and Dragon Rage. I beat the guards, and ironically, after I beat them, my fellow Aqua comrades show up, and thank me for the diversion. I head onward, and find everyone all locked into battle. All are in battle except Maxwell. Time to show the Magma Gang who's boss around here in Reborn. However, since my Pokemon are probably a lot weaker than his Pokemon, I'm going to hold off on that for a while. Instead, I'm going to challenge the Reborn League Gym at the Lapis Ward. I will be back, Maxwell. When I return, you're going down! Current Pokemon Stats Well, the team leveled up quite a bit. Charles and Hydra learned quite a few new moves too. Charmeleon Name: Charles Level: 33 Moves: Scary Face, Dragon Rage, Flame Burst, SmokeScreen Persian Name: Persian Level: 28 Moves: Taunt, Cut, Bite, Fake Out Gyarados Name: Hydra Level: 32 Moves: Ice Fang, Tackle, Bite, Dragon Rage Gardevoir Name: Gardevoir Level: 33 Moves: Magical Leaf, Confusion, Calm Mind, Teleport Kadabra Name: Henry Level: 31 Moves: Teleport, Disable, Psybeam, Charge Beam Porygon Name: Porygon Level: 22 Moves: Conversion 2, Tackle, Conversion, Sharpen
  24. Chapter XIV: Learning About The Reborn Region! I wander around the North Obsidia Ward for a little bit, and head inside the buildings to see if there's anything inside them. In one house, I stumble upon the Move Deleter. I don't need any moves deleted, so I leave. In the building next door, I find a man who wants to see a Delibird. I'm going to come back here after I find one, of course. I figured the guards wouldn't let me pass, but they did anyways. I guess I'm a hero or something. I head east, and I find a few buildings where I find myself completely surrounded by gentlemen and old men. These wise men say that they are all going to teach me about the Reborn Region and its beloved locations. Time to learn some facts! The Opal Ward is in the heart of Reborn City. It's one of the busiest wards, always bustling with Trainers and pedestrians alike. Opal Bridge, the walkway between the lower-level of the Ward and the Obsidia Ward in itself is a renowned battling location. New trainers show up there all the time, so I have to always be on my guard. If you ever need to heal, you should always go to the Grand Hall, the only building in the Opal Ward. The Grand Mall has its own center, mart, and is generally a hub for the Reborn League. The Obsidia Ward is Reborn's largest Ward, oftentimes considered in two seperate halves, the main and south area, and North Obsidia. Unfortunately, the two halves have been cut off from each other because of the recent earthquakes. Underneath the Obsidia Ward is a network of railway tunnels. When the earthquakes hit, the hollow foundation gave way! Not only is the tunnel unusable, but much of the Obsidia Ward was destroyed, including the HQ of Reborn's largest company, Yureyu! While North Obsidia features the massive Grand Stairway, a monument leading outside the city, South Obsidia is now the prime commercial district. There are salons, shops, and even a beautiful park all along Main Street! The Onyx Ward is one of the finest residential Wards in the city. This may perhaps be because of its close location to the Onyx Trainer's School! More than just a school, it also doubles as a Reborn League Gym! Young Trainers of all kinds flock their for their own reasons! Between that and the Onyx Arcade, the Onyx Ward is one of the most youthful and lively places in the city! The Peridot Ward is the second largest Ward in the city. More than any other, however, it's also primarily an Industrial Ward. Factories and warehouses line its shores of Azurine Lake... Many lower-income people live there too! Unfortunately, as a result, the Peridot Ward has become notorious for homelessness and gang activity... However, on the bright side, the Power Plant and Reborn League Gym is also located there, not far fro the Peridot Station, the best way in and out of Reborn! Boarding the peaceful Malchous Forest, the Jasper Ward is a very moderate residential area. Many families of middle class live there- or... did until quite recently... With the recent expansion of the Malchous Forest, Jasper has become somewhat of a ruin, sadly... The Lapis Ward is one of the highest-class in Reborn! Perhaps rivaled only by the Onyx Ward, it's an ideal place for a family, with some of the lowest crime-rates in the city! It's also one of the few locations unaffected by disasters... Most notably in the Lapis Ward are a Reborn League Gym, and Dr. Connal's Orphanage. You can hardly miss them! Boarding the Rhodochrine Jungle, the Beryl Ward is among the larger Wards in Reborn. Although the recent disaster spelled an end for much of its residence, Beryl was formerly a very unique-middle class community. It also held a reputation of being one of the sight-seeing places in the city, as it is the highest-up Ward! It offers great views of the Tourmaline Desert, Reborn City, and even the Azurine Region! The Coral Ward is the smallest Ward of Reborn, tucked into the corner of the Azurine Lake near South Obsidia. Its main attraction has been its port! Coral is normally a very lively location full of hard-working workers and tourists traveling the lake! Unfortunately, thanks to the recent water quality, there's been little need to go down there... Now for the Regions! The Azurine Region lies across from Reborn City! Full of beaches and mountains, it's quite an empty place, speaking in terms of the locals. In fact, there's only one settlement there! On the Apophyll Beach, there is a small academy! Sometimes Trainers who wish not to study in the city go there instead. There are also some islands not far off, known as the Azurine Islands. Little is known about those... Finally, a massive Volcano, known as Pyrous Mountain towers above the area, shedding a layer of ash across it... The Byxbision Wasteland is a treacherous jumble of debris that surrounds the entire southern boarder of the Reborn Region. Those who venture far out into seldom return, so little is known about it... But whispers of discovered ruins and objects suggest that there was once something else beneath the filth... Something from a story since past and forgotten... Orre it could simply be a rumor... Much of the Chrysolia Region is an old forest, formerly connecting the route between Reborn City and the Mysidia Region! Other landmarks include the quaint Spinel Town, and the Tanzan Mountain area, a network of sprawling trails and caves! The Aventurine Region lies just north of Reborn City, through the Grand Gates! On the whole, it's one of the most beautiful places in Reborn, with lush forest, rich peaks, and even a special crystal valley... Also around are the Celestinine River, the famous Agate Circus, and Agate Town with a history older than it belies... As well as a mysterious castle... The Tourmaline Desert reaches for miles, bordering the north part of the Reborn Region! Many newcomers travel via train across the desert from very far away. What those trainers don't know is the desert's mysterious history! The train tracks have had to been rebuilt several times, thanks to a multitude of strange accidents... As a result, a strange scrapyard of train parts rests out in the middle of the desert... Sometimes, it even stands in the shadow of an enormous tower... But as soon as you blink, the tower vanishes! How curious... The Carnelia Region is home to the twin cities of Calcenon and Labradorra! They rest in the valley of some of the tallest mountains in Reborn! Though all topped with icy peaks, the tallest by far is Ametrine Mountain! It overshadows even the most important Charous Mountain... ...where the Reborn League Champion waits... With all of this information shared to me, I leave. Next door to those buildings is the Reborn Nightclub! Finally, time to party! Unfortunately, I cannot enter the club, because it's for Ace Members only. But I'M an Ace Member!!! Oh well, I guess I'll have to come back after I prove myself to the Reborn League. I head down to the South Obsidia to see if I can actually reach it. However, I get challenged to a battle by a guy with a Meowth, a Koffing, and a Sandshrew. I beat him, and take his money. I head up the Grand Stairway, and I overhear the guards talking about the bomb. Apparently, the bomb was placed UNDER the Grand Stairway, and nobody thought it was possible to get under there! Since there's nothing else to do here, I guess it's time to head to the Lapis Ward... Current Pokemon Stats Nothing important. This chapter is all about the Reborn Region. 25. Well, Charlotte, Serra, and Saphira are all taken care of. Two of them, thanks to some strange strategies that oddly worked. Tomorrow, I shall stand face to face with Reborn's mightiest champion, Amaria! I shall defeat you, no matter what!
