I'm using Paint.net because it's what I'm familiar with: To resize the image from a 1x1 ratio while maintaining quality, first go here: Next, click "resize and this window should pop up: Change the resampling type to "Nearest Neighbor" then select the "By percentage" bullet and change the value to 200. Click "ok" and you should be done
  2. Although seeing as it's a pixel sprite, always resize on the nearest neighbour setting to preserve quality
  3. The way I'd go about it is to purchase the exp all first, followed by the cards to get into the different EV/IV training rooms. The replacement items for the HMs aren't all that necessary so I'd save them for last.
  4. Honestly, half of this post is just to make fun of my old sprites to begin with so I'm surprised as well.
  5. Yeah that makes sense. I suspect it was the script seeing as from what I remember, it's caused the script to hang in the overworld in the past, only ceasing after being deleted. This is a weird one seeing as I'm 99% sure I already deleted the script due to said issue, but somehow it made its way back into the game. I'm just guessing it was a faulty error when transferring scripts or something. But in reality, I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
  6. So my only thought as to why this could be causing an error spawns from this better random move routes script: I'll upload a version without it; hopefully this fixes your error!
  7. Weird. I have no idea why he would be causing a bug, seeing as he's supposed to just give random dialogue. I'll look into this one tomorrow.

  9. The two of us have been working hard to iron out this demo while Case 9 and beyond is slowly brought into fruition! As such, after almost a year of the same design, we've finally updated Sylvester and Lue's designs! Both can be viewed in the screenshots below! Along with this, we have also: Completely overhauled the battle ai to make fights much more challenging Updated the text colour in battle and of default speech as well as overhauled the bag ui! Updated the gif compiler with one that isn't as hard on your computer's drive Fixed an error that caused some player's scripts to hang due to the colour tint in the pause menu Added in both Autosaving and Backup Saves which can be toggled from the menu A few more general fixes to tilesets and overworld sprites We hope you guys continue to enjoy Present!   10. Iirc, Riverviewite is just a reference to Bikini Bottomite for obvious reasons. I may be wrong though but I'm pretty sure that was the reason in conjunction with the fact that we couldn't think of anything else at the time. Nothing too exciting with that one.

  14. We've successfully created the club! As such, all further game dev will be moved to here. We're still in the setup stages but if anyone here is interested in the game, feel free to join! (I'll probably keep this thread open for a little longer so people can see the message and then close it.)

Sylvester works alongside his not-quite-canine unit, Swinub, to solve minor cases. Tracking down missing cheques and ice sculpture vandals doesn't come without risks, however; the frigid metropolis is home to ordinary people and criminals alike. To uncover the truth, Sylvester steps on the toes of some of the city's most important figureheads... as well as the mafia's. ~Features~ ~Screenshots~ ~Credits~ ~Download~ ~Notes~ While it may appear that way, Pokemon Present is NOT A CHRISTMAS GAME. This game is actual far from that in fact, with Winter only being utilized as the setting and nothing else. As well, if you would like to use assets from the game, please ask for permission beforehand. The game's graphics themselves are not public, however, we are willing to accept reasonable requests for those who want to use a certain asset. This will also work on a case-by-case basis as certain graphics like the main cast aren't public. If you use an asset without our permission or don't bother to credit us properly, it will be considered stolen.
  16. I already fixed that big with that haunter so I have no idea why it's coming up again. Weeeird. The item losing isn't preventable, due to the nature as to which Truffle evolves. The exp gain is a known semi-glitch, but really not all that big of a deal to us, seeing as it would cause us to have to rewrite the method as to how foreign pokemon gain boosted exp (due to your old pokemon being considered foreign after you switch parties.)
  17. I've updated the game again with a few more bug fixes and graphical updates. The changelog can be viewed below: Also I've been considering opening a Present Club, much like games such as Rejuvenation and Spork have, for better organization of information and bug reporting. While I'm not entirely sure all of the logistics (like if you are required to be a Veteran or higher to open one; in which case we would have to wait a couple more months), I think it could potentially be a good idea! Is anyone else interesting/wants this?
  18. Have you fought all the trainers around? You may have missed a snow pile and such with a ninja boy hidden inside. Iirc, the best place to train early game is the library district; assuming you're on case 3, there's also the sidequest in the bank which yields some extra exp. Hope this helps!
  19. Another day, another huge slew of bug fixes. Mainly just graphical fixes to a couple of the areas with updated tilesets. Hopefully this is the last update that I'll have to make for this version of the game. Thanks for bearing with us!

  21. You sent the wrong file. I need game.rxdata to patch a save from the saved games folder on your computer, not game.ini.
  22. Present 3.4 is now out! This update contains a huge graphical redux, updating every trainer, back and transition sprite in game as well as several of the overworlds. We've also provided several bug fixes in this demo, most notably a fix to the issue of nicknaming pokemon not being allowed and a couple graphical update issues. As well, the levels have been lowered for the trainers in the first area of the game to make it easier on the player. As well, we've revamped a lot of the older areas in game such as the Duchampe Residence and the Eastridge Centre. Please Note: Do not load your save file in the Eastridge Mall or the Duchampe Residence. Due to the map having aspects moved around, you may become permanently stuck in something. I hope you enjoy Present's new look! Stay tuned for the next big release; we plan to revamp the ai and make the game more challenging with the addition of difficulty modes and a couple potential new field effects and weather statuses so look out for that! Cheers! (Why a couple of the screenshots are displaying as larger than the others is beyond me. It's almost 4 in the morning and I'm too lazy to fix it though.)
  23. Thanks for all the positive feedback and compliments! As far as I can tell for the name rater problem actually stems from the fact that when characters change, due to the fact that when Mordecai and Syl are switched between each other, it counts as a new trainer being registered, much like how traded pokemon can't be nicknamed. I'll look into the code and see if I can find a fix for said issue. We're releasing a huge graphical update soon so I'll try and address these issues in the next couple of days.
