Stuck in the Sheridan Wetlands Xen lab, can't leave

So I've made my way to the Xen backup lab in Sheridan wetlands for the first time. Solved all the puzzles and got to the end, where I have to battle Ren. As it stands, my team can't stand up to his in the slightest. I went to leave and raise some new mons, but backtracking leads me to this one-way that I can't get through. I've already used the healer at the end of the lab, so I can't leave by losing the battle. I tried using an escape rope, but it can't be used here. Is there something I'm missing? Am I just stuck? Do I have to reset to a prior save?

I swear there is some water spot of something that leads out of there, like if you surf in the water area, cant you get back to one of the previous areas? I might be remembering wrong tho, in which case you would need to reload your save, or use debug mode to teleport out of there.

There's a surf area in the center with a dive spot, but I don't have access to dive yet. I also can't hop up onto the entrance from this area.

In the area where you can heal, the one near the room where you face Ren, there should be some down-facing arrows. They should take you near the entrance.

The arrows take me to this spot. From here, going left leads to the impassible one-way shown above, going right leads back around to where Ren is, and going down leads to the dive spot and guard rail I can't pass.

The only other lead I have is this orange terminal in the puzzle room to the right, which when interacted with, says "panels somewhere in this factory have changed." I don't know what this does, but it doesn't let me through in the room to the left. Does anyone know what it's for?

I don't believe there's any way to fix this without debug if you can't beat Ren.
