Grass pokemon Pre-Valerie

So, what's a good grass pokemon we can get before beeing locked in Terajuma? I'm about to reach that part and i just know im gonna need one for Valerie.

Ideally one that doesn't require happiness to evolve, because i'm that lazy. Suggestions?

Lombre can be found on Route 4.

 

Ludicolo has a variety of advantages against Valerie

1. 4x resistant against water type moves

2. Swift Swim lets you always move first

3. Great special defence (Valerie uses a more special attack oriented team)

 

The only thing is that you have to breed that Lombre to raise a Lotad to level 30 (or 36) so that it can learn Giga Drain (or Energy Ball).

If you captured the Quagsire before heading to Akuwa town, it can learn anemia to rise the special defense as well if you need help with leveling the pokemon breeder on team xen battleship with audinos are helpful as well

Abomasnow form blacksteeple might help too, it can change the weather to hail and mist to change the field to misty terrain.

also a good choice can be beautifly because it learns sleep powder,quiver dance,attract and giga drain at that point in the game.it can at least take out a pokemon or if you are greedy with quiver dance it can sweep Valerie entirely

Incredibly, simisage May Be strong as well. I have to Say though, I had no problems in beating her with a monotype water team, so You probably Can Do It with your actual team.
